2nd Lt. Lakeland: “Yes sir.” She administers the stimulants. 2nd Lt. Bordeaux picks her up and waits to move.
Phyka: “Let’s go. Secure.” She walks over the hill. Lakeland follows. The younger wolf girl has turned into a wolf again and takes up the rear.
The Sargent wakes up, and is able to limp now, but his one leg is severely damaged, and moves like it’s numb. The party walks slowly. After about an hour, the woman wakes up. 2nd Lt. Bordeaux sets her down.
2nd Lt. Bordeaux: “She’s coming to !” He calls out. “Easy. Don’t panic.” He tears her head on a tree root stump base. Lakeland rushes over and tried to give her water, which she gladly takes. The wolves rush up and start talking to her in another language. She replies and smiles.
You see the orb, it emerges from her and comes to you, and then gives you information. She tells you to follow the gold star and the red star all the way to a river. Follow down stream, then at the main river, follow up stream. This is all visually shown, and empathically presented. She then checks her wounds, and smiles again. She gets up on her own power and then has the group follow her. The party arrives at a small hold in the ground, big enough for a person, and she crawls in. The two wolf girls crawl in, and the rest. Lakeland waits, covering with the rifle.
SSgt. Wallis: “Gonna set me down or hold me all day ?” Totally bypassing the sir, rudely like a ****ed off Jersey guy. 2nd Lt. Bordeaux looks at him with a face of anger “Please, sir ?” Bordeaux then smiles and winks at him like an old guy.
2nd Lt. Bordeaux: “I’m sure we all can use some rest in a safe place. I’ll see you kids down there.” He crawls in the hole.

2nd Lt. Lakeland: “I’ll be fine. Going in.” She slings the rifle and crawls in. Everyone but you are in now. Outside seems eerily quiet. There isn’t even a breeze.

I will set up my drone and cloak it to keep an eye over as large a radius it can. Then I will go in.

The drone does not have a cloak but it can get high enough nothing can find it easily, but it’s dark and it will defiantly provide some security. How high do you make it go ?

There is a loiter option that has the drone circle you by a mile radius and scans, and you can leave those discs to link the connection however deep you have to go. You should still have a lot of them. They are very thin, like paper thin with a transmitter on them, but they are heavier than paper. They can go up to however high you have signal for.

I will have it circle the immediate area with once every few turns expanding the radius. I will go down and leave discs intermittently.

You enter a hole that is at a 45 degree angle that goes down about 12 meters, then levels off abruptly. Inside is a hollowed out area that is about 12 by 17 meters in area and 3.5 meters high. There is another 45 degree angle shaft going down further at the end of this area and it leads to a 3 meter by 13 meter area that has a small stream running along the side, and it’s fresh water. In that section are very old wooden crates. Old cannon balls are inside of some, some very old Bronze Age style detonation caps that have corroded, and a few bags of black powder, but they are all so old and stagnant they probably won’t ignite. There is also a bunch of silvery white fungi growing on the bags that kind of snake and branch out all over it several times over. At one point, there was enough powder to supply a battery, as well as the cannon balls. There is also a desk at one end and a frame for a cot, but the fabric has since decayed. Only you and Lakeland can see everything inside, only with FLIR setting. She looks at the papers, but can’t make out anything on FLIR that well. She searches the desk and comes up with a nice size paper.
2nd Lt. Lakeland: “Let’s see what this is.” She takes out a head lamp light and turns it on to see it. “Nice find.” She shows you. It’s an old map that includes the immediate location. It shows the landscape and where key locations are, what look to be choke points, battery positions, fields. “This is a f**king battle map of this region !” She says in surprise. “There’s a fort to the north.” She points. “This is a deep ravine.” She slides her finger along the paper. “How old do you think this is ?”

“Not sure. Decades maybe. Possibly centuries. What happened to you? Are you sure you’re okay? I already had to fix up the Captain be honest with me. They had you out pretty good in there.”

2nd Lt. Lakeland: “I can tend to any of my wounds. We have the same training. You saw the captain ? I’ve been alone till-“ A soft bump sound comes from one of the others as they walk in. She looks toward that area and gets low, with a slight whimper. “There is something big out there. It was playing with me. I think it’s a dragon, but I didn’t get a good look at it. I think it will try to find us and kill us. This place has so much history. I saw metal gates, rusted, but metal, all over this field. Stones, of graves with writing on them, but I don’t know what they all say. It’s like there were towns and villages all over the place here.”

“What color was the dragon, did you see enough for that? Also the Captain and the others may be in trouble. I got separated because I helped the wolves. I’m glad I did otherwise we would have lost you if you had stayed there. I think Cap and the others are laying low. I haven’t had a report back in hours.”

2nd Lt. Lakeland: “It was too dark, and FLIR only saw heat. It wasn’t a nice one. It wasn’t dumb either. My last contact with the captain was hours ago. He was being chased like I was, but they didn’t chase me when we split. Then I was chased by that dragon. I tried to dice for the water, but I dropped my oxygen pill as I dove for the water. Then I woke up shackled to the wall. They were torturing us. I lost consciousness. Then you guys were there. That’s all I remember.”
