Captain Davis: ”We can’t debrief from the mission we are in, but we can do a mission situation report. We just need two more members. Ritzy and Lakeland.”
Major Neltz: “Your stronghold is the cathedral at the square. We have personnel there to greet you. You have bunks and food and anything else you may need.”

“Wait. Lakeland was in the other chopper, we left going to search for you all..did she come back Major? And I hate to break this to you like this Cap…Ritzy didn’t make it. I don’t know exactly how it happened. But we found him. They sent a crew to gather his remains.” I grit my teeth as I say the last sentence and rapidly rub the back of my head in exasperation over the situation (like Shane on the Walking Dead).

Major Neltz: “The team should already be there.”
Captain Davis: “Mmmh.” He looks down with a mix of anger and sorrow. “I, guess, I’ll look over his recording and file leading up to it and write to his family. None of us are invincible. We all split. Then he stopped responding. We all encountered a lot of s***. We can rest now.” The chopper flys low and over buildings, then it touches down. The other chopper can be seen flying away. You see Lakeland waiting.
Captain Buck: “Alright. It’s been nice working with you guys. Enjoy your stay in town. I’ll be back in 28 hours to get everyone.” He waits for you all to exit. Captain Davis exits and with his only arm tries to help Hyla out.

I quickly try to make it easier on Captain and help Hyla out. “Got ya. Let’s go get some rest guys.” I head toward our quarters.

Captain Davis: “We will be at this places equivalent of a hospital. Stay online, stay connected. Our mission is to get the family home, keep them close.”
2nd Lt. Bordeaux: “What now ?”
2nd Lt. Bardlaw: “Repair, rearm, refuel. I’m interested in what the foods like.”
Captain Davis: “But if you’re injured, come with us.”
2nd Lt. Bordeaux: “Coming.” He follows the captain. The family also follows, though the German soldier wants to, he doesn’t. The father of the two tells the kid to stay with the German soldier. The kid obeys, and they tell him they’ll be back.
2nd Lt. Bardlaw: “Following you, Caston.”
Hans: “Forgive me, my English is not the best, but where do we go ?” He asks you, assuming you’re the ranking officer once the captain leaves.
Around the square are many vendors and tables and tents where the locals sell or trade. You smell many kinds of food, from fried stuff to unknown stuff. As you let the ambience in, you begin to pick up what some of the locals are saying, and understand some of the words, but you can’t speak it. It’s most likely from the Nal’yus gifting you the ability to understand the locals.
The cathedral looking building is to the left (west of you or compass heading of 255). It’s similarly built like a church, though not with any known religious marks or the feel of any religiousness. It has a tower to the left of the entry way from your perspective mid way in. The entryway has two large, heavy wooden doors. There are statues of dragons and wolves near the entrance. You are standing in the east side of the square between the inner compound wall entrance and the cathedral entrance to your west. You are just beside the main road. There is a water well between you and the entrance. The captain is walking down the road with the rest of the injured.

I look at the German. “Are you hurt? If you are, go with them.” I point to the Captain. I also begin to walk to get myself checked out and to check on my team primarily.

He didn’t appear injured, nor do you.
Hans: “I’m not injured.”
2nd Lt. Lakeland: “Over here.” She calls out, waving from on of the open heavy wooden doors.
2nd Lt. Bardlaw: “There she is.” He walks toward her, as does Hans and the kid.

2nd Lt. Lakeland: “We landed first. You saw the chopper leaving when you got here, didn’t you ?”
2nd Lt. Bardlaw: “So, you cooked, right ?” He has sarcasm in his voice.
2nd Lt. Lakeland: “We have coms back, didn’t you notice ?”
Hans: “Forgive me, ma’am, but we haven’t eaten.” He gestures to the kid. “How do we get food here ?”
2nd Lt. Lakeland: “I don’t live here.” She looks at the kid. “Sorry. I don’t have food. But I’m sure there is food somewhere here.”
Kid: “Ok.” He peeps. Smelling the aroma of many kinds of local foods cooking and being brewed around the square. Hans and the kid follows her in, then Bardlaw.

You pass a stone brick well, which has a metal pipe built into it with a crank connected to the pipe with a rope. There is a wooden bucket hoisted up with water in it and the crank is tied up to a rusty metal pipe poking out from the brick. The well has no cover/lid over it. There are some small grasses and plants growing between the cracks of the bricks and on the cobblestone ground leading up to the building.
The building itself is about 88 feet wide by 158 feet long. The roof is angled at around 40-45 degree slope. At one end there is a vent of some sort, at the other is a chimney. On the north side middle, there is a bunch of statues and a stone mural depicting a wolf and a dragon posed defending a globe in the back with unfamiliar continents. The globe has a label reading “Foundation of Life.” The characters read out to sound the word Bedtagon. Upon examining another mural, you see that it reads: “Legend of the Rain Wolves. In days of war, Hell hurts our home. They cruelly took lives then left us to die. The few who survived then started to cry. Then the Rain Wolves came home. The legend unfolds. Tears turned to cheers. Their Nal’yus brought hope. They battled and roared, fighting evil with vengeance to end its injustice.” It shows the rain wolf in human form riding the dragon on a saddle as it breathes fire upon an army of warriors.
A cylindrical tower is built on the middle along the south side. It has a cone roof and several openings. There is one large opening on the south side, three smaller openings on the west side, and two on the east side. The stone looks very noticing to climb, however above where the larger opening is are some blue and white boxes that look eerily suspicious.
As you approach the main door on the west side, you see more murals depicting battles, a wolf, some men and a woman, and the dragon depicted flying in the background dropping barrels on giants. You can see that there are chips and broken sections from the murals, some scratch marks of vandalism and attempts to deface the murals. There are dangerous looking shrubs around the base of the building near the murals, and they look fairly young. The main door is heavy, made of wood framed by metal, with very strong hinges and door knob built for large hands. It would take both of your hands to open it. You are at the door. There are some stones and what look like destroyed statues on the ground on each side of the door.
Lakeland stands at the door, then walks in, followed by everyone else. Inside there are Chanticleers up above, and tons of art work of the Nal’yus, mountain ranges, waterfalls, sculptures. The place reminds you of a museum rather than a cathedral. The first large room has many sculptures and damaged artwork, as well as a pile of damaged statues and old artworks. Lakeland goes to the right and up some stairs. You follow up to the top.
there are two rooms at the top of the tower. One has a radio area, the other a lounge area with ammo and six Mk-19’s folded up. You notice another Mk-19 is covering one of the smaller west side openings, and another is covering one of the openings on the east. The entire town can be seen from the tower, and can easily be defended by the Mk-19’s and marksman you notice on watch. Some of them have M-249’s with scopes, and a modified single shot option. You see seven of them along with around thirty magazines for them and several cases of ammo. The tower is fully equipped for a zombie apocalypse. You don’t even need a perception check to see four AT-4’s/M-236’s mounted on a wall.
The tower has been made into an all purpose gun tower. The only thing it doesn’t have is an artillery gun. Though, there are imprints on the ground and rusty metal loops that might be used for retraining something heavy that could fire projectiles. Perhaps some of the elderly locals can share some history.

2nd Lt. Lakeland: “I don’t know. But I wanted to show you this. They defined the town from here. Just take a look at the layout so you’re familiar with it. That’s what I’m doing.” She gazed out at the town and looks at the terrain in the distant.

I take in the area. “You did a good job out there. We aren’t done yet, and I know we aren’t the closest, but I want you to know I’m thankful you made it. I want to make sure the rest of us get back safely enough, plus or minus injuries that can heal.”

2nd Lt. Lakeland: “Yes sir.” She continues to look at the town.
Captain Davis: “Callus. Davis. There’s a chance I’m out of the action for good. If the dragon that was eliminated is the one that pulled us here, he was the only one that could send us all back to the proper dimension coordinates. That means we will have to reset the D-Vice. If that’s the case we will have to wait for approval to return to Scar Creek using one of their PAVOTD’s on hand, and they are restricted. We have to wait for an opening from homes side, to avoid enemy tracking. The only way I see we can get the mission complete is if they submit a medical discharge request. They’ll have to open a wormhole on their end to transport the injured home. That’s when we will be able to go home. At that time I think we should get the family through with me, and complete the mission, you will have to volunteer to be one of the ones to help us inured across, to be approved. I'll talk to Major Neltz and find out more. Are you guys good ?”
