Jack twitched slightly before she started coughing and spitting up water. With Mikey's help she was able to roll onto her side as she continued to cough up the water that had settled in her lungs. She just laid there for a bit before she managed to open her eyes. Staring at the edge of the boat she just laid there. It took her a bit longer before she actually sat up and looked at Mikey. She grinned slightly before leaning over the boat to throw up.
It was then that she seen the creature starting to surface. Jack put her hands in the water. It took a second before the water started to freeze. She let it extend a great deal out also freezing the boat in place. The water even turned to ice all the way up to the shore. "We need to move," she said as she climbed out of the boat." She looked back to barley see the creature beating at the ice. "Yeah we need to move," she said as she pulled Mikey in the direction of the docks. The sound of ice cracking behind them as the creature continued to beat away at it.

The run to the docks was quite short. They had made good distance in the boat beofre the creature had started to hassle them, and the sheer fear of being pulled under again had them both going like there was no tommorow. In fact, if they were grabbed again, there probably wouldnt be.
They reached the docks, dry land and safety in less than a minute. After going on land for a bit to make sure they were out of reach of the threat, they both collapsed to the ground.
"Ok..." Mikey started, panting. He was now starting to feel the exursion he had displayed in the water and the run. "Map said...right...up the hill." He stopped to cough for a moment and looked over at Jack. "Five minute break?" He asked more than demanded as he had back at the truck. They wouldnt last long if they were too tired to outrun something else chasing them.

Jack put her thumb up in the air for an okay. Other then that she was laying face down on the ground panting slightly as well. She closed her eyes and just laid there waiting for everything to calm down. After a bit she was breathing normally, but still she didn't move. She didn't want to move, she was tired and exhausted. Every bit of her powers taking what she had out of her, and what made matters worse was that the spells she used were just minor. She just hated to see what using one of the major spells would do to someone.
Still that thought would have to wait as she shifted her arms so she could rest her head on them. Though five minutes was all they needed. She had some how managed to fall asleep during that time. Though once more her dreams were plagued with nightmares as they had been threw out her childhood and adult life. Though to her she had seemed to have gotten use to them, and her body language never showed it.

Next to Jack, Mikey also fell asleep. He was more tired than he had ever been in his life, but he tried to fight it. Normally, he would have been able to stay awake, but something was pushing him. Something was wanting him to go to sleep. He finally gave in and laid on the ground next to Jack, sleeping peacefully.
Up on a hill above them, a woman in a blue dress was surrounded by miners, looking down at the two peole who were now asleep. "It worked." She said. "Take them to the orphanage." She ordered. The miners ran down the hill to collect the people, not worried about waking them. They wouldnt wake until the spell was lifted. Jack and Mikey were deposited in the basement of the old building, in a holding cell. The spell was lifted and they would soon wake.

Jack woke slightly with a crick in her back almost as if she had been sleeping on concrete. Though when she opened her eyes she realized that was exactly what she had been sleeping on. She sat up rather quickly with several pops in her back that made it feel a bit better. Looking around she realized that both her and Mikey were in what looked to be an old style jail cell. Except they weren't in the same cell. She looked over to him before crawling to the bar. Reaching threw she grabbed his leg and tugged on it. "Mikey, wake up," she called to him.
When she got a closer look at the cells she realized that they weren't in a jail. No from the looks of it they were in a basement. She looked for a window of some kind in order to get some kind of barring on where they were, but didn't find any. Sighing heavily she sad down against the bar and waited for Mikey to wake up.

After a few moments of Jack yanking on Mikey's leg, he jumped slightly and looked around the room. The look of confusion was plain as day for the whole world to see.
"Did we get drunk?" Mikey asked. He sat up in the cell and crossed his legs in front of him. "No, not drunk. Damn..." He muttered, hoping the past day would have just been a bad drinking hallucination. "Well, you got us into another jam, thats for sure." Mikey said, jokingly blaming it on Jack. "Well, lets see...how to get out of a jail cell... How do you get out of a jail cell anyway?" He asked, not sure what to do. They had been stripped of their weapons, but not the contents of their pockets. For Mikey, that meant a lighter and a pack of cigarettes. Speaking of which, he proceded to light one and look around the cell for a weak point or flaw in design of some kind.

Jack laughed slightly as she climbed to her feet. "Those things . . . ah forget it," she said as she walked around the cell for a moment before stopping at the door. Tilting her head for a second before reaching out to touch the lock, but what was suppose to happen didn't. Tilting her head a bit again as if confused she pressed up against the the cell before her eyes caught something. Looking up at the ceiling she caught a rather large pentagram with several symbols and Latin words written into it. It seemed as though it was burnt into the ceiling.
"That's out," she grumbled as she looked at Mikey. "I can't use my powers," she said with a heavy sigh as she walked to sit on the bench. "So I'm out of ideas for now. Still tired though. So give me a moment to let everything catch up, unless you have any ideas," she asked as she looked back to him.

"Huh..." Mikey said, looking at the very old styled locks. Old as dirt, but in perfect condition. Weird. "You know what I just realized?" He said, checking his pockets. He still had his wallet. That would work.
"Horror movies." He said, fishing a card out of the wallet and folding it at various parts. By the time he was done, it was a strip with what looked like an arrow at the end. He stuck it into the lock, thus unfolding, and he started to jiggle it around. As he did, he looked over at Jack and saw the look of confusion on her face from his cryptic statement.
"Horror movies. Back at my place, you said you never watched them. And yet, you told me Hannibal was a better movie than book. Hmm." He said, still twisting the card around. He could feel the latch inside. He'd seen the inside of this kind of lock before. He knew that it was just as simple on the inside as on the outside. And he also knew that it was only a matter of finding the bard thing inside and making it turn. To do that, he needed to catch it on the end of the card and roll it without losing it. Simple enough, in theory.
"I also learned how to do this from a horror movie. Sort of." He said, finally finding the bard. "Ha!" He said in excitment, keeping his hands steady and twisting the card in a circle. Finally, the lock popped free. "Ba-zing!" Mikey exclaimed, taking the lock off the latch and tossing it onto the ground before walking over and starting to work on Jack's lock.

Jack laughed a bit as she watched Mikey. As soon as the door opened she stepped out. Stretching her arms a bit as she looked around. "Hannibal should have never been rated horror. It was more of a drama type idea, but meh what do I know," she said as she walked over to a desk and pulled out the drawer. "There we go," she said as she took her items out, and even took claim to her book. She looked back to the ceiling and sighed a bit. "That symbol looks rather old," she said as she headed up the stair. She stopped for a moment. "This place looks familiar," she mumbled under her breath as she made her way up the stairs.
She stopped as she slowly opened the door to peek out. With satisfaction that the cost was clear she opened the door and stepped out. Looking around as she moved to another room it had dawned on her. "This is the orphanage that I grew up in," she said as she turned back to Mikey. "But that jail cell never been there before," she paused for a moment before realizing that she had never been in the basement before. An that pentagram looked old. "That pentagram if it was here when I was here that would explain why I could never use my powers inside the orphanage," she explained as she looked around the room.

"So what your saying is some stupid circle painted on the cealing could really mess with you like that?" Mikey asked. The whole deal didnt make any sense to him. But hey, he wasnt meant to understand any of it. Hell, he didnt even know why he was here. Oh well. He put his mindback to checking to see if all his stuff was here. Last thing he wanted was for some jerk off to be cherry picking through his effects.
A creaking shook him out of whatever he was thinking. Someone was coming from upstairs.
"There!" Mikey wispered sharply, grabbing Jack by the arm and dragging her over to a wardrobe closet. He stepped inside and dragged her with, closing the doors as quietly as he could and listening to the outside. A single person came down the stairs. The foot falls were heavy, but not. Like the person was wearing large shoes, but wasnt very heavy. The speculation didnt last long.
"Come out, come out wherever you are!" A sing songy voice called out. High pitched with a certain amount of menace to it, it continued to call out to them. Soon after, objects being moved around and then thrown were heard. Mikey wondered what to do, not quite sure. Jack couldnt pull her tricks, and all he had were guns. Maybe it was a normal person on some kind of crazy. One way to find out...
Mikey looked at Jack across from him and jerked his head toward the door and then held up his pistol. He gave her a questioning look, asking if he should or not without saying anything.

Jack was a bit puzzled without her powers if who ever was on the other side wasn't human they'd be in trouble. Thing was the closet wasn't a very good place to hid since it would only be a matter of time before who ever it was found them. She sighed a bit as she leaned up against the wall trying to think. She had to think hard and fast. "We go, and we go fast. If it's not human shoot and run. Getting outside is priority. At least out there I can use my powers," she whispered under her breath enough so Mikey could hear. She leaned up against the door as she looked up at him.
Her eyes meeting his though it was hard to see. She listened to the noise going on in the room. Her hand gripped the door knob tightly, and she waited. Closing her eyes she took in a deep breath and slowly let it out. Counting silently to herself she waited a bit longer, and then threw open the door to who ever or what ever was on the other side of it.

The door was thrown open and in less than a second Mikey had his gun up to fire at whoever it was that was looking for him. He faultered for a second. Not in the fear of ending a life, but the fear of who it was he was staring down. The same yellow skinned man with the huge smile on his face. Mikey felt his hand start to shake as the man smiled more and started to walk closer.
Instinct took over and Mikey fired. Once, twice, three times. Over and over again. The man ducked down to his side and started running to the side, passed a doorway and into another room. Mikey swapped his fear for confusion which soon turned to revalation. "Jack, he's human! Here, in here hes the same as you!" Mikey said. He changed out the magazine for a fresh one and smirked.
"Let's nail the son of a b*tch!" He almost yelled, going to the doorway and checking the corners. The man was nowhere to be seen. He checked the rest of the room, and still. Nothing. "Where the hell is he?!" Mikey yelled to no one in particular.
"Here!" A voice from nowhere said. Mikey turned behind him to fire and felt his arm be jerked to the cealing. The gun went off and he felt several sharp blows to his face and then stomach. Whoever he was, he still had some moves without his magic. Mikey tried to fight back, but every punch he threw was dodged and countered with three more.

Jack followed the sound of the gun fire. Without giving much thought into it she slammed her shoulder into the man's side tackling him away from Mikey. Jumping to her feet she pivoted on her left foot and brought her right foot around to smack him square in the side of the head. "Mikey if you can still move. Get your gun and get outside," she said or rather ordered. This man had moves and he had powers. Mikey was right, he was just like her, and what scared her was he was like her in more ways then one. As the creepy man climbed to his feet, she spun once more this time the man caught her foot.
Though Jack didn't act surprised in the least bit. She was trained as she had trained her students. To except the unexpected. Shifting slightly she was able to bend her left knee and kick off the ground hard enough to do a back flip. Her left foot connecting with the chin of the man causing him to let go of her other foot. She did a complete summersalt in the air, and with grace landed on her feet.

When the man fell to the ground, so did Mikey. He only half heard what Jack said, and when she was busy dealing with the man, he was still trying to find which way was up. For a skinny prick, he was strong. Blood dripped from Mikey's nose as he looked around for his gun. Where was it?!
He couldnt find the pistol he had taken from the mall, and wasnt in the mood to look for it. He pulled the next pistol out of its holster, the 1911 .45, and aimed. His hand shook worse than before and he was seeing double. He fired a shot at the man as he was trying to stand and missed. Mikey too tried to stand only to have his legs turn to mush and fall back to the ground.
The man, torn between what to do, wasnt finding a lot of options. He was very vulnerable. A lucky shot from the boy or more karate from the girl and he wasnt going to last. He looked around as he kept an eye on Elijha for an exit. The only one was behind her. The main door.
A quick grin shone on his lips as the man reached to his side. He snatched a glass bottle from the shelf and threw it. It spiraled through the air right toward Jack. In the second she was occupied with it, he was able to run past her and out the door.

Jack moved out of the way as the bottle went flying past her and smacked into the wall just as the man ran right past her. She looked down at Mikey and knelt down to make sure he was okay. She looked around a bit before reaching under the sofa to pull out the gun he hand dropped. Handing it to him she stood back up. "Alright, better yet stay here," she said as she ran outside. She looked around for the man, before something caught the corner of her eye. Looking to her left toward the corner of the building she quickly gave chase to the man. For several reasons.
She had questions to ask, and she wanted to bet the hell out of him for him hurting her friend. She didn't have many of those, and he turned around and nearly beat the crap out of Mikey. She sighed a bit as she turned the corner again looking for the man. For some strange reason she knew he had to be somewhere around here.
