After the man, John, had run away, Madison slammed her open fist into the door and mumbled out a swear under her breath. But she figured it was more important to be there with the survivor when he found Damian, whether he was dead or alive. It really did seem like he cared, which was more then she ever wouldve expect. It seemed like forever running through the hallways after John, and the only thing she could go by as the right way would be the audible gunshots around a few corners, and the evident trail of fresh fallen walkers. The entire place wasnt set up for easy access, and it was really quite like a maze to anyone who didnt have a map, which she didnt.
Finally, Madison reached the last of the trail, with no more gunshots and the sound of complete silence in the room where Damian was. There was nothing but bodies riddled along the floor, three of them being the lickers. She knew this was going to happen, both from experience and from her boyfriends actions. But how John was going to handle the situation was a different story. Maybe he would just let it go, maybe he would chase it. "We can look for him when were far enough away from the room, lets just get to that food storage unit." Madison was fully away that Damian wouldnt be found, that was next to impossible. He would find them.

John looked into the room with shock. He had heard stories about events like this. Super humans able to clear whole towns of walkers, or sometimes people. If Damian was one of these super humans then things could be worse now if he was the kind that mutated. He could be out of control and hurt them.
If it was something else, another super human or a tyrant or a BOW, than it took Damian and was heading deeper into the shelter.
To John's surprise he found footprints leading away from the scene and decided to ignore the girl's request. He was going to find Damian. He either was going to get his answers from Damian himself or whoever, or whatever, took him.
After what felt like ages the footprints dried up and he was left standing there looking for whatever clues he could find. Suddenly a licker jumped out and landed between the two. His crossbow was knocked from his group and he wasn't going to use a gun unless it was a last resort. Instead of reaching for his pistol he grabbed his hunting knife and went on the offensive.

The pair had followed the footprints, and the entire time, both were quiet. Madison didnt exactly know what John was thinking, whether or not he knew what was going on and was just trying get to the bottom, or he knew exactly what the situation was and was making sure Damian didnt miss any. The silence wasnt her favorite, but she didnt want to speak, just let things work out themselves. Either way, he would know in the next few minutes, if her boyfriend didnt take off after something.
When the Licker jumped down, it knocked John onto the floor, and then prepared itself. He was much, much smarter then the others in the past, they were evolving at a rapid rate, and from what Madison could gather from experience, probably even mating. This one was strong, but hopefully not strong enough for the downed man to handle, who just had his knife readied. Madison had to do something, a gunshot was out of the question, but she didnt even have a melee weapon at the moment. Thinking quickly but recklessly as usually, she ran forward and drove her foot into the side of the monsters. In a moment, it turned and pounced on top of her, but allowing John to focus his own attack.

John quickly got back to his feet and readied his attack. Suddenly Madison attack the licker with a kick to the side. As the creature tackled her to the ground, John jumped at it. He drove his knife into the spine of the beast and hung on as it moved in pain. John was slammed onto his back as the licker rolled onto him. The handle of the knife drove into John's ribs, knocking the air out of him but he held onto the creature. He wrapped his legs around the creature and his arms around it's neck. He removed the blade from the licker's back, but the licker used it's tongue to try and remove John from it's back. John held tight but his arm was restricted and was unable to move it. John twisted his wrist and actually cut the tongue off that was wrapped around his wrist.
The licker screamed in pain but it's scream was cut short as John buried the knife into it's head. John rolled off holding his side. He left the knife in the head of the licker for the moment. "I think that broke a rib. It hurts to breath." he said as he stood up and gathered his gear. "So Damian's girlfriend, I was never told your name." he explained through heavy breathing and looking for Damian's tracks.

The beast was finally dead, and based on the quietness around, there wasnt anymore coming. Otherwise, they wouldve been here by now, and the both of them knew that. The survivor John looked hurt from the blow to his ribs, but it wasnt bleeding, so it was probably fine and would go away in an hour. Not like there was a whole lot anybody could do for medical treatment in a post-apocalyptic city.
Now most people wouldnt be interested, and clearly if he was willing to cooperate to take down one of those four legged monsters with a complete stranger, he had a keen sense of survivor in small groups, less of a lone ranger type. Madison didnt like being along, but hated being in groups. Damian was always there for her, and her for him. John wouldnt be a third wheel, he would be somebody worth having around, if she was going to be honest. "Madison... Nobody ever asks, so I never usually introduce myself. Guess you figured out that Damian was my boyfriend. But, well, hes not human."
The explanation was going to be good. Maybe John would think she was crazy, maybe he would see them both as a threat. The truth was going to come out either way, so might as well be now, and from her. "Hes a BOW, experimented on back in the late ninties, from what I know. Hes beyond human. His sense of smell, hearing, reflexes, but even the need to feed. He gets like this sometimes, runs off, its usually to protect me. Ive known him for a long, long time now, and hes a terrible person. Around me though, he changes. I like to think he needs me just as much as I need him."
There wasnt much point to following the trail, Damian is the type to be found. He could show up anywhere from ten minutes to an entire day, it all depended on how much blood he had in his system. But those details could be kept secret, John didnt need to know he was searching for a hypothetical vampire, as if all of these monsters were bad enough. "Lets just look for that food, well come back. Actually, id appreciate it if I stuck with you. I dont like being alone, if thats not too hard to imagine."

John was stunned by the news he was just given. Damian was mutated and he was the thing that cleared the room. John reached into a pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and pulled one out for himself before he offered one to Madison who took one. He lite them both before taking a drag. He held his side from the pain from taking a deeper breath.
"Damian actually told me you two were dating." John explained to Madison. John wasn't sure what to do or where to go from here. They were deep underground and probably surrounded by more walkers and lickers. John wasn't about to simply leave her in the dark next to the body of a dead licker. "Well I wasn't about to leave you here. What happens if we don't find Damian?"

Taking the cigarette, Madison smiled for a split second, thanking him before taking a drag herself. Its been a long time since she had a smoke, too long. Maybe the end of the world was a good way to quit, but why stop for good if your probably going to be dead sooner then the cancer can even kick in? "If we dont find him, he'll find us. Its that simple. But he wont come back to us until hes finished doing his thing..." The plan was still the same, she was looking for her friend, and this was the best place to at least start searching. Maybe it was best if she told John her own plan, maybe they could work something out in between. Damian would hate her for getting close to the guy without him around, but she was strong enough to make her own calls at this point.
"...Im looking for someone. Used to be a cop before Raccoon City got bombed out. He never left the state. I need to find him because he has some answers, or at least I hope he does." Hopefully John would at least leave it there, because not even Damian knows why shes looking for him, and if there was even the slightest chance he was listening to them, she wouldnt hear the end of it. The reason was very important, both to her and to her boyfriend, even more then he might think should he find sooner.
Deeper into the Fallout Shelter, there was a gunshot, followed but a horrified yell. It was definitely somebody getting killed, and the first thought that crossed Madisons mind wasnt good. "That sounds like Damian. Lets go check it out, quietly."
~~
The body of a man lay on the ground, Damian feeding off of it. Another, bearded man held his gun at Damian, and then spoke out. "Im not afraid of you... Thats what drives you, right? Fear in your victims? Well you wont get it from me." Damian looked up, and then stood straight at the man holding the gun, remaining in place. "I could rip your arm off and jam it down your throat in a heartbeat. What makes you think I wont?" Lowering the gun, the bearded man holstered it, and then responded. "Because you wouldve done it already. You know Madison is looking for me, and you wont kill me. That must make you two close, thats cute. Well, you can tell her where to find me, then."
The man ripped away a large sign blocking a passage way, and then darted off down into the sewer system. He obviously knew where he was going, but Damian didnt want to follow. He only wanted to find out what was going on, and why she was looking for the a**hole. They were close, John and her, would trace the gunshot to here in five minutes. It gave the man enough time to get away.

John heard the gun shot and the scream and could almost pin point it's location. It only took him two minutes to find the gorey scene. John checked the man bleeding on the ground and knew instantly he was dead. Damian must have killed him. A fresh blood trail went in one direction while the moved barricade and echo of running feet from the sewers were in another direction. The blood lead deeper into the maze like shelter. The blood and the footsteps could have been anybody's but he had a guy feeling that the blood was Damian's and that the person Madison was looking for was in the sewers. If the blood was Damian's, though, he wasn't exactly sure since it could have been come from the body and been on Damian's clothes. John could hear the footsteps fading and broke into a run.
The pain in John's side was extreme but he knew how to go through the pain. He chased after the footsteps around a corner before the steps slowed down, the person must have started walking trying to catch their breath. John turned another corner to see a bearded man walking away. John raised his crossbow and shouted "Touch the sky, son, less you want a bolt in your ass!"

"What the hell is this? Better not be who I think it is, Damian." The corpse on the ground didnt look like the man she was looking for, but it didnt exactly look like anybody at the moment. Before she could say anything else, Damian retort. "Your friend said youd know where to find him, took off down into the sewers. You got some nerve dragging me all the way back to Raccoon City for this." By this time, Madison was a little angry, but upset that he would take off like that. She was going to tell him straight up that it wasnt her idea for him to come, that was all on him, but thats when he calmed down. "If he means that much to you, then lets go, Johns already on the hunt."
~~~
There was a good twenty seconds of silence before he spoke. "Come on, I dont have time for this. I dont know you, and you dont know me. If you have a point to stopping me from my business, nows the time to say it." Whether or not the man did have a reason to help Madison find this guy, which would be a very, very interesting turn of events, the bearded man knew that he couldnt possible be that special. Not to her, anyways. But seeing the BOW kill his friend, he had a thought about why she might be back here.
"John, its okay. Let me explain things, to all of you." When Madison spoke, the man was pretty glad to see her, but it wasnt a good time. He had business to take care of, and it was definitely none of theirs, that was for damn sure. But still, he let her speak. "Damian here is a BOW, you found that out the hard way. I needed to track you down because you know more about them then anybody else. Ive tried contacting the BSAA, even Tricell themselves. Nobody cares enough anymore. So, naturally, I figure the only person left was you, given your previous... Experience..."
Damian was just plain curious now. If he was some kind of superhuman hunter, then why he hasnt killed him was an honest question. But maybe that wasnt the question he needed to ask. Keeping him alive would be better, because if he did have some connection to the BOW, information would be more powerful then just ripping his head off. For now, he wanted to just listen. "Sorry I dragged you into this, John. You were just looking for food, and I was looking for him, seemed good to work together." Before John could even respond, the bearded man did so first. "Food? This place is picked clean. If you want food, ive got lots of it back at my place. Lets come on back, and then we can get you both what you want. Food and answers, eh?"
There was a truck parked out behind the Shelter on the ground level, hidden in the allyway. It looked undriveable, but that the point. Nobody would think to try. Four of them could easily pile in and they could be back in the Arkley Mountains by midnight.
John didn't lower his crossbow even when Madison told him it was okay. He didn't like the way the man spoke to him, or rather, down at him. John listened, breathing heavily through the pain in his ribs, as she explained a million questions came to mind and when he was informed that there was no food, he was upset that he was fed false information.
The bearded man continued to speak down at John and it was getting on his nerves. "Best watch how you speak to a man pointin' a crossbow at you." he warned the man as he guided them to his car. "Hold on, I ain't going nowhere without my bike. Now less you hook a trailer up to this sum b*tch, I'll follow you."
"Heh... Alright then. Lets take the sewers back up the ground level, and then you follow me and Madison." It wasnt like the man wanted any trouble, or wanted to disrespect anybody, but if anything drew a weapon on him, he expected them to use it immediately. Because they didnt intimidate him what so ever, not anymore. The fact that John looked like the mercenary type, but didnt kill him the moment he seem him, then it was clear he wasnt there to end his life, nor was he looking to rob him. The man didnt even have a backpack on him, empty handed, cept for a nine under his jacket in the back.
As Madison and the group followed her friend back up the ground level, she was surprised that Damian didnt have anything else to say. His reaction as a little disturbing, because he was always a little hot headed at times like these. Doing things for people wasnt his style, and having things done for him wasnt what he was used to, even if it was Madison or anybody she knew. Whatever they were getting John into was deep, and he would be given the chance to get out when he had the food he risked his own life trying to get. Maybe he had something else on his agenda, who knew, but it didnt matter.
"Ill go a little slower when we get to the mountain, bike not make it up on some of the roads, so you might have to stash it somewhere close. Cya in Arklay." And that was that. Madison got into the front of the truck while her friend stepped into the drivers seat. Damian wanted too go on foot, which was fine by her. Its been awhile since he had a good hike, anyways.
John followed behind taking up the rear as to not get between Damian and Madison in case they wished to talked. His plans were aimed for Georgia, if the pair was destined for the south, then the three could travel together. If not, his plans could could wait. They had already waited fourteen years already. He had nothing better to do and his curiosity was getting the better of him.
He didn't even mind if they wanted to go through his plans first before doing what they were going to do. John saddled up on his bike, strapping up his crossbow before starting up the bike. He followed the truck as they pulled away. He wasn't sure how Damian was going to manage on foot, but he was sure he would get there eventually.
