Donnie refrained from shooting Father David a look that said “What the Frack!” Instead, he just smiled at the boy. “Well if you start to convulse on the floor, one of us will probably put a bullet through your head. And you are no dog. We are all companions here… equal.”
Donnie looked at David and then back at Shakku. Without much to go on to finding this girl, it would be hard to find this girl, but with God on their side, anything was possible. “Well, before we set off, lets look over the café and see if there is any food here.” Donnie had some food, but not enough to feed the 3 of them.
“Let’s see what we supplies we can find here before we leave. I know that God has sent manna down from heaven for his people, but” he paused and looked over at Father David, “that was a long time ago. Then we can finish checking the museum.” A thought just occurred to him. “Shakku, do you have a ride?”

Father David had already begun walking down the stairs when Shakku was down talking certain things some denominations did,so he could pass it off like he was ignoring him. Then what Donnie said hit him like a brick, with the arrival of a new person he was thrown off. They never did check the cafe for any food that might be there, though he was well supplied if the lord gave anything he would take it and use it for good.
"You are right m'boy we never checked the cafe, you go see what you can find.I will look around here after shakku and see if i can spot anything about the girl he missed."
Father david hopped back up the stairs two at a time, then looked to shakku a little grimly at first then smiled and waited for him to tell them if he had a vehicle. It would surprise him if the boy did not have any mode of transportation, given he looked a little too soft to walk in the snow...and god would probably not keep such an ignorantly insulting young man from freezing, but he could not try to understand god.Even if the boy was slightly insulting he would be more than happy to offer him a ride in Donnie's truck or his van, preferably the former because he didn't think he could survive great lengths of conversation with the boy.
"I'm sure Donnie would love to give you a ride if you want company,i'm afraid i'm not much for...social...conversation."said the father, clearing his throat in between pauses and avoiding eye contact with Donnie.

Shakku looked at the floor wondering what had come over him and then shivered from the cold thought his schizophrenia was taking over. As shakku looked up to see Donnie and the father he said "Oh, um, I apologize for the comments, I might have gotten a little too gloomy". He then said turning his head towards Donnie "Sadly I don't have a vehicle but if you don't mind could i catch a ride? If i become too much of a liability then its ok I can continue looking for her solo."
Shortly after shakku remembers Donnie saying to search for supplies, and shakku says while pulling out a can of beans the size of a regular sized bowl (maybe a little taller) and holds it forward in his hand as if offering it "well, i have about three cans of beans in my bag if we were looking for something to eat? There probably frozen but its just a suggestion"

Donnie was already leaping over the counter and rummaging around through the inventory on the shelves. The majority of it was still good... mostly chips, cookies, coffee beans... things that would expire, but also had long shelf lives. He put them up on the counter along with the bottles of water and soft drinks. He skipped the fruit juices, since the refrigeration units were down… they would have been spoiled.
“Lets look in the back”, Donnie said, heading toward the back. Before he opened the swinging door, he pulled out another gun from the small of his back. It was his backup, one he used in close quarters. Then he opened the door and shown his light in and around the small kitchenette.
Nothing jumped out at him and he listened to see if he could hear a moaning or slithering sound. “All Clear!”
Going towards the back, he found a case of granola bars and more water and chips. The fruit was all spoiled and stunk, but what they had found would help supplement their food.
“Did ya’ll find anything? And Shakku, you can ride with me once we get out of here, unless you eat those cans of beans. Then you'll be riding on top, I swear.”
Donnie was only partially kidding. He smiled a bit wider so that Shakku would see that.

Macavoy tipped over a table or two gently getting a better look around in the dark area.He didn't see too much other then moldy half eaten things or scraps, blood and the like.He looked over to shakku who had probably not found anything either.
"I've found nothing useful, this really wasn't necessary anyhow my bus has good enough rations for a group larger then ours.We do need a solid plan of what we are going to do before we leave here however."
The father said this looking expectantly to the other two,he was but a missionary helping those who needed it.

Shakku had a short smile for a bit as if he laughed but it wasn't there to stay, putting the beans he had in his hand back in his bag shakku went a bit towards the counter donnie leaped over to inspect it. For some reason it looked familiar to him; while wiping the dust off it then taping the wood noticing a hollow sound. "aahaa" shakku said while tapping the counter, he then turned his excited head towards donnie and the father saying "give me a hand will ya?"
Shakku then pulled out his knife and stabbed the wood in one spot with a repetitive motion of up and down until it broke a hole no bigger than a letter you'd get in the mail and no smaller than a cellphone. Putting his knife in it's sheath shakku grabbed the flashlight attached to his rifle pushing a small lever on the side detaching it and flashing it through the hole to see a big black square and the letters MESA written on the top. Shakku then told the two "Alright well we aren't totally doomed, I found a safe but I don't have a key, so...now what?"
As shakku was waiting for them to say something he started to punch the wood around were it was broken breaking some pieces off but making a loud echo through the old riggidy floor boards.

Donnie shrugged and put his case of water down. Then he grabbed his crowbar from his belt and handed it to Shakku. "Here, use this to pry up the floorboards. It will make it go quicker."
As Shakku continued to break the floorboards up, trying to get to the safe, Donnie became vary wary of something moving in the shadows. They didn't come towards him, but continued to move about in the shadows. Donnie put his hand on Shakku's shoulder to stop him for a moment, when a blast rang out. Donnie saw the brief flash of muzzle fire and heard the bullet go whizzing by his head. He was down to the ground in an instant, his rifle in his hands.
More shots rang out from the far side of the museum. What he thought were zombies, were actually other survivors.
"DON'T SHOOT! WE AREN'T INFECTED!" yelled Donnie with the shots stopped.
As if to answer him, the barrage redoubled, pinning him, David and Shakku down behind the counter. A voice came up from the other end and the rain of bullets stopped.
"Well isn't that a pity. Tell you what... toss your weapons out and we will let you leave here alive. Otherwise, we will just have to kill you."
Now Donnie was in a place where he hadn't been too many times... facing off against humans. While he was merciless on the undead... he strived to not harm any humans if he could.
"I DON'T WANT TO KILL ANY OF YOU. WE JUST WANT TO GO OUR OWN WAY!"
"Yeah, drop those guns over the counter and we might just let you." The snickering that followed the statement left no doubt as to their intentions. Donnie turned to the others.
"We've got to move. If we wait much longer, they will flank us. It is too far to run to the stairs, but there was a door in the back of the cafe. We can take it and exit that way, trying to find another staircase. The alternative is to kill everyone one of them, which I am hesitant to do. God frowns on that."

Father Macavoy was quick to duck down with the others, after staring at shakku trying to open the safe. The father saw no point in opening a safe,if there was any money in it what good would it do them?If there were guns or bullets they couldn't last too long in a safe that small. Then he though about telling their attackers he was a priest...but they kept shooting after Donnie said they were human,so that would not help.
"You go and try to find and exit, leave me your rifle or something fast i will keep them occupied. You may have a problem killing people, but their sins seem quite evident, and god does not like his chosen being harmed as much as he doesn't like killing. Not to mention this would be self defense."
Macavoy reached into his coat and un-holstered his .357.He reached over the counter quickly and fired off five shots, halting the enemy fire, giving Donnie and Shakku time to get to the door. The two of them did not know of the Fathers experience in the military, and if they followed his lead they would not know.

For the moment Shakku was stunned not knowing what to do next until he heard Donnie trying to reason with them, and as he was doing so Shakku took the time to reload his rifle as it seems he needs it to get out alive, shakku reached into his bag grabbing a small ammo box opening it to find one round and detaching the loaded magazine in the rifle, sliding in the round and putting the mag in his pocket sliding his rifle over his shoulder. When coming back to whats going on shakku started hearing the father preach about shakku and Donnie leaving, soon after shakku could hear a few rounds fire off from where father was at.
"Even if we left you, all the gunshots and commotion that was going on earlier must have attracted them, there might be more waiting for the chance to ambush us im not taking any chances" he said to Macavoy and Donnie. Shakku then reached in his bag grabbing his "Osa" or hybrid use gun and opened the chamber sliding in two flash rounds and two rubber bullet rounds. "I got drugs, and medicine, If you agree to leave i'll slide them over?" Shakku yelled over to the bandits knowing that there is no chance in hell they'd leave without killing them but at the same time he was gonna stand his ground and protect his pack. "Give me some cover" he said to Donnie suddenly shakku stuck his gun over the counter he pulling the trigger hearing a pop similar to a pistol firing sending the flash round over to the other side of the museum landing on the ground a few feet from the looters followed by a bright flash and loud noise that rings into the ears giving a very uneasy feeling. Shakku hopped over the counter seeing a bandit laid on the ground holding his hand over his eyes in pain the other two barely standing but one near the left recovering his posture quicker than the other, shakku then hit a switch at the end of the grip switching the chamber to the rubber bullet firing it at the bandit on the left missing his leg by an inch but hitting the one on the ground near his shoulder.
Shakku not knowing the ammo selector switched back automatically fired the second flash round hitting the bandit to the left in the chest, blinding not just the bandits but himself as well. Not being able to see, much less hear shakku dropped to the ground and layed there with his eyes closed playing dead but his gun hidden under him just in case he's taken hostage.

"Sorry Preacher Man, we stick together." And that was basically when Shakku jumped over the edge of the counter and fired a funny looking gun at the looters.
Donnie instinctively pulled out his machine pistols and stood up behind the counter. He saw the looters take some of their attention off of Shakku and put it on him. He saw them move to aim their guns at him. He also knew that they were too late. Holding down the triggers, he raked their area with .45 ACP rounds, nailing several of them in the chest, a couple in the head, and then others ducked down for cover.
Now Donnie was in his Killing Zone. He raked the area again, using his lasers to target body parts. It rested on his targets only a second, but that was all he needed.
As the ducked down, he advance on their position, preaching at the looter.
"Thou shall not steal" "Thou shall not commit murder" "Vengeance is My sayeth the Lord, I will REPAY!"

The father stood and reloaded his revolver slowly as he walked over behind Donnie. He smiled at the young mans tenacity, though he couldn't recall if he was ever like that himself. Then again he wasn't that young when the outbreak occured. He continued over to Shakku as he holstered his revolver and grabbed the young man's arm.
"It's just father David...you did good son.Now i think it's time we left this place, who knows how many others are in here and how many ghouls we've attracted in the city"
After shakku was up the father returned to his shotgun grabbing it swift,he looked over to the safe they were working on and scoffed. He looked back over to the two, then down,he walked over down the hall to the attackers with his barrel up and finger on the trigger. He knelt and prayed at each of the bodies, when he got to the last woman she was still alive...if you could say that. She grabbed at the father and pulled him close and whispered...
"Forgive us."
The father placed his hand on her head and prayed, when he lifted his head she had stopped breathing. He stood and turned back to the boys,
"What now?"

"what now?" What now is all shakku heard as the father walked over to the sacks of meat with no souls. "What now is just as you suggested" shakku said rubbing his eyes as he sat on the floor with his legs crossed. "We move, far and quick. I doubt there is any more of them but if so, it wouldn't be that many seeing they probably sent half there whole group here. "
Shakku then placed the palm of his left hand on the floor shifting his weight to slowly stand up. "I would say to avoid less gun fire we move stealthy through the back door" he said putting his multi-use gun in his bag. He slid his bag and rifle over his shoulders, and unholstered his trench knife. "I know I said they were waiting out back but, if I was right they would have assumed something was wrong and moved in being suspiscious of the gun fire."
Shakku paced around and started to think. He suddenly remembered his escape training. "MPEE and NA." He said as if he solved something. "Main Points of Entrance and Escape, and Neutral Areas. Stuff like this could be basments, roofs, escape ladders, underground shelters, windows even."
He turned his head towards donnie and macavoy. "Do any of you have a map of the museum or know where to get one?" Shakku was pumped up ready to find that map and get away. If they had a basement of secret celler there could be some supplies there even though, if what they were mainly looking for was an exit the front door might still be an option excluding zombies and bandits...

Donnie checked his weapons, combining the partially spent magazines with each other so that each weapon had only one full magazine. He slide his Machine Pistols in their holsters, checked his backup weapon and then holstered it. Lastly he pulled the sling of his rifle over his shoulders and held it in front of him.
“I think there were some on the counter before we jumped over it.” He looked around on the floor, picking up a handful under the overturned tables. “Here we go”, he said, handing each of them one. Opening up one, he readily marked out where they were at and then looked at the main exits. They were really far away. Then he looked closely at the map and then turned to orient himself to the direction the map was facing.
“There looks to be a loading dock, just two floors down from where we are at. Probably where they bring in the large art items. It is usually not open to the public, so there shouldn’t be a lot of people back there… plus there might be a nice security office or something back there.”
He looked over at Father David and Shakku and shrugged. “As good a door as any to try.”

"I agree with Donnie, that area would be best to check. One of you two can take point this time...my old age is catching up with me."
The Father wasn't at all that old but he was a little tired of being shot at and he'd rather not be in front. He was also just tired, and wanted to get in his van and drive to one of his near by safe houses. In the back he could walk as slow as he needed to,unless they were going to run to their destination.
"Slow and steady wins the race...just thought i would point that out.If we go slow we are less likely to attract any attention. From raiders or from the ghouls..."
He stopped and thought for a second as they started moving forward.
"Donnie where is your truck parked? My van is in the back near where were going,it might be too dangerous to go to the front or around in case we attracted any ghouls. It would be better if we were all in one vehicle any how....but it's your call."

Donnie looked over at the Father and then at Shakku. “I’ll take point”, he said, moving off toward the direction of another set of stairs. No doubt by now the killings in the courtyard and the gun battle were drawing others to this area. No sense going back the way they came. He rounded the corner and didn’t give the dead bodies a second glance. He figured that inside of an hour, they would all be zombie food. Most had shots through their heads and those that didn’t…well as much as he wanted to put them down for good, he couldn’t waste the ammo right now. Switching on his tactical light on his rifle he began to slowly descend the stairs. These weren’t the large marble and brass ones like the ones at the front of the museum… nope, these were smaller and less elegant… meant to be used by employees. As he took the steps, he shone his light from side to side, not leaving any shadow uncovered.
“True Dat, Padre.” He said to the Father’s remark. No sense running when these things could be easily outwalked. Save the energy for the raiders.
“My truck is parked 2 blocks down. While I hate to leave it, I believe that we need to stay in one vehicle and your’s is closest. Though it we make it to my vehicle, then I’d like to either keep it or get everything out of it.”
