Subway Terminal, First Squad's Position, Sierra Tango One
"I knew I shouldn't have come in today!" PFC Arton yelled to himself as he aimed his M16 rifle and began firing behind the makeshift confines of their barricade, careful not to shoot his squadmates as the remaining few ran back to their fallback position.
Sgt. Middleton shared his exact sentiments as he helped the last member of the Fireteam climb over makeshift barricade. "F*ck sarge, this screws up the ID'ing we did earlier!" Corporal Anderson yelled, taking pot shots and dropping the first three zombies approaching them.
"Like I f*cking don't know it!" The Sargent yelled back, grabbing his radio to report to HQ. "Sierra One, Sierra One-" He stopped, taking time to aim and fire his M4 "-This is Sierra Tango One. Hostiles are approaching my position, I say again hostiles are approaching my position. Pulled in the rest of my squad and are assuming Position Alamo over,"
Middleton suddenly heard the rapid fire of his squad's M60 go off and saw the horde infront of him a few meters away get torn to shreds through his NVG, buying time for the other members of the squad to reload. His eyes got dazed a bit by the M60's muzzle flash, and Middelton realized that the human eye could only take so much flashing.
Switching off his NVG, he shouted at his squad to do the same. The gunfire stopped momentarily because of the action, and Middleton quickly took off several illumination flares from his chest, activating them and throwing them over the barricades which lighted the area infront of them in an eerie, blood red light.
Taking that as the signal to resume fire, they made up for the wasted few seconds and created a fresh pile of human corpses which began to stack up on the floor and near the barricades. Several zombies tripped and decided to crawl towards them unseen. Middleton didn't see this well into the gunfire, but as his eyes got used to the dimness of the darkness, he saw the floor moving and directed some of his squad to take them out.
He reloaded his M4 when it coughed and quickly jammed a fresh magazine, cocking it rather harshly and aimed, the muzzle of the compact rifle glowing a faint orange.

OOC: Kanian, next time you want an answer, pose a question, alright? All thats going on is your holed up in a subway terminal in the sitting area with first squad, behind a barricade, holding off zombies pouring from the surface down the stairways coming at you....
Task force pantheon The gunfire continued to echo, casings scattering all around the men as they continued to hold off the zombies as best as they could despite being so outnumbered and, in American military terms, so lightly armed. However, the "light" firepower they had combined with the personnel, multiplied in effectiveness by the barricades holding the zombies back, allowed them to thin out the zombie hordes with an amazingly devastating effectiveness, although how much longer this would continue was yet to be seen. Crimsonheads popped up several times from the surface running down the stairway from a police riot force which had tried to use normal riot techniques against them at the beginning of the outbreak; resulting in several zombies that had been knocked out.
Even though the crimson head's might have possibly mildly effected the stairway barricades balance, the just plain unlucky happening of the squad facing the terminal having too many people having to reload at the same time was worse; the wave of zombies flowed and got closer to the barricades, nearly closing ranks with the barricade as the squad reloaded. Seemingly simple, but even a minor screw up like that was starting to look to be dangerous for them.... --------------------------------- PMCD Before Claypoole could make the only snappy response he could think of, he was interrupted by the very quiet, nearly undetectable sound that came from above. When he looked up and caught a quick glance, he quickly looked down and scanned ground level to check for anymore around them. It had moved too fast, he hadn't been able to identify it. How ever, he got all of the information he wanted, surprisingly... He whispered into his mike, aimed at Phillip's and Tyson
Back to back, we're rear guard, we watch this s**t... if they drop from above, don't give them any room to drop right into us. I'll watch the middle ground between us and the front. Tyson, Emily, watch our rears and make sure we don't get attacked from behind. And watch the above too!
The team to the rear quickly started to rearrange itself, Phillip's biting her lip nervously as she realized that they weren't dealing with just any zombies now... the fact they were on the roof top and seemed to be stalking them didn't bode well. Hunters, Lickers... the unknown. She didn't like the possibilities of what they could be. She had her PLR-16 our and ready, and she wasn't afraid to use it--- but she sure as hell didn't want to even need to use it!

As we entered the subway, I kept my eyes glued to the front, the silence sweeping over us like a dark, dense cloud. Flipping down my NVG’s made keeping an eye out easier, but still it was difficult to find my way around, and had to carefully follow Kyle, who was walking in front of me. Somewhere distant in the tunnels, gunfire rang out, and echoed all the way to the entrance we had just come in through.
A sudden shuffling to my left made me turn, and I saw Aya sprint up in front of Kyle, whom promptly followed as did I. Though the shuffling was a welcome break in the silence, an almost inaudible croak was not. Just as we’d gotten into the tunnels, I spotted some sort of creature on one of the walls, with a sudden burst of speed it bolted into a vent shaft above the tunnels and disappeared.
“No need to bother the natives,” I spoke under my breath, careful no one else heard me. Diligently, I followed the rest of the team down the tunnel towards the source of the heavy gunfire, which I knew would attract one hell of a lot of zombies.
“So Aya, what exactly are these guys we’re being paid to help doing down here anyways?”

Mike entered the subway station cautiously, he took out his katana so he wouldnt be found if he fired his shotgun, he walked down the stairs and into through the gates he looked around and found their were some zombies but that wouldnt slow him down, Mike ran past them and then into another lobby looking for the subway station security room, mike walked cautiously towards the door he found to the security room. A zombie jumps onto mike biting at him, he holds the sword at the zombie and flips the zombie over his head with his legs, mike then got up and kicked the zombie in the face as it was on its hands and knees then mike sliced at its head making the zombie fall, mike then walked away towards the door again, mike went to open it and it was unlocked for some reason, he opened the door and two zombies jump out at him, mike dropped his sword and threw the shotgun over his shoulder cocked it and shot it, the other zombie came towards him to but mikes shotgun was out and needed to be reloaded, mike walked towards the zombie and hit him in the face with the stock of the shotgun mike then rolled towards his sword picking it up then stands up, the zombie walked faster towards mike then mike swung the sword towards the zombie and the zombie tripped making mike hit the sword onto the concrete wall breaking the sword in half, mike dropped it and stomped on the zombies head, then went into the security room mike looked around for the key and couldnt find it, then he looked in a box near the door and it said key to subway train #2, mike couldnt believe it he than tried to mess with the switches in the security room, he turned on some lights and turned on the power so the subways would work, mike walked outside and the zombie tried walking toward him mike then punched the zombie in the stomach then swinging around its neck throwing it over mikes back and onto the floor then mike got his shotgun and rammed the stock into the head of the zombie a few times and it didnt move, mike noticed the zombie had a security guard uniform on, mike scoped out the zombie and found a 9mm with an extra clip of rounds, mike threw the shotgun over his shoulder and took the 9mm and clip from the security guard, mike put the extra clip in his pocket and held the 9mm in his hand he made sure it was loaded then he walked on and the power cut off again mike was frustrated, he took out his flashligh and held it with the 9mm he then ran towards a tunnell where he heard a distant noise, mike walked into the tunnell with his light on, he then asked. "Hello? is anyone there?" Mike looked into the distant and thinks he see's a small group of people, he than started walking towards them. (Reffering to those in the tunnell)

Aya had slowed down, it appeared the TFP units further down the tunnel were doing a pretty good job of holding off whatever was attacking them. Aya cocked her head slightly as she heard a faint yet audible echo bounce off the cold walls of the underground. She turned around to look back down the other end of the tunnel. "Hello? is anyone there?"The voice was extremely faint, Aya wondered whether she was just hearing things considering the paranormal tug at her shoulder every now and again. There was a jet black blur that skittered across the tunnel Aya saw as she looked to the back of the group. Everyone else had seemed to miss it apparently, and who would have seen it considering how dark it was? Aya felt the pull on her shoulder again causing her to turn back around and look ahead of her. The light at the end of the tunnel was visible, only to be blocked by complete darkness. Aya couldn't understand what was going on, where had all the light gone? There was a glow from her nightvision as if she had been staring at a brick wall. That was when she felt the prickle at her neck, running from one side to the other; a claw or some other sharp instrument causing the pain. She'd instinctively moved backwards when she first felt it but obviously wasn't quick enough. Aya tripped over to the side of the tunnel, shock and fear coursing through her body; suddenly she was very afraid. Her grip on the M4 tightened and as she fell to the floor she pulled the trigger, arm flailing. Half way through the fall Aya realized the danger she was causing and let go of her rifle, clattering off into the darkness. Seconds passed as Aya was on the floor, panting, feeling her neck; beads of sweat rolled down her cheeks, in fact, she couldn't tell whether they were tears or sweat. She stopped moving and held her breath when she heard a sound, what she would consider a foreign sound; an almost reptilian laughter along with croaks and hisses filling up the tunnel around them. Panic caused her heart rate to increase, speaking in a raspy voice, "Weapons free!" Aya spoke almost in a stutter, "R-run!" she didn't bother looking for her M4, she wouldn't be able to find it in this darkness. Instead Aya drew her Glock as she stood up and began sprinting towards the once again visible light. She noted silhouettes ahhead of herself further down the tunnel, her clouded mind almost causing her to forget the thermal capabilities of her headset. She changed the HUD setting and instantly three beings showed up, darker than the cold surroundings. Aya pointed and fired, but as she did so they all skidded up the walls and into a rooftop vent...all in a heart beat. So fast that they'd actually left a trail on her HUD like three black rainbows. She wasn't planning on taking any chances, Aya unloaded covering fire at the vent as she ran underneath it, "Eye's high!" she shouted over the gunfire so that the rest of her team would know where to look. It was after that order she came to the realization that her voice was becoming even more raspy, coughing slightly afterwards; Aya tried to clear her throat but it was too painful. She felt even worse, muttering "God damnit," to herself as her speed began to reach her inhuman capabilities. She just wanted to reach the light at the end of the tunnel.

"Reloading!" Samuel yelled over the gunfire. The drum clattered to the ground as he pushed the ejector switch, and velcro sounded as he ripped open one of his vest pouches to get a new one. From the corner of his eye, he saw movment that wasnt one of the men in his fireteam, and reacted with a move that was quicker than reloading his clunky Ultimax.
Ripping the large black .44 Magnum from its holster, he barely aimed as he fired off several rounds into whatever it was that was moving. Three rounds later, in what most would call overkill but Samuel liked to think of as just enough kill, the zombie clattered to the ground with three large holes in it's chest.
Letting go of his Ultimax and letting it hang from his tactical strap, he fired off another more aimed shot at a zombie and blew grey matter onto the others behind it. Grabbing a grenade from his vest and pulling the pin with his thumb, he yelled "GRENADE" as loud as he could before tossing it in the center of the zombie's ranks.
He dropped to the floor and covered his head with his left arm as the rest of the men in his fireteam did the same.

Tyson had nearly missed the voice of the man screaming down the tunnel, but he didnt miss the skittering or the paniced movments of Aya. He stood in the formation Claypoole had put him in, and watched the walls more than the ground. If something had been clammering around on the ground, they probably would have heard it before now.
The movment around the walls had caught his attention, but in his fit of discapline, he didnt fire until the order was given. When the weapons free was given, he fired off rounds as if making up for lost time. Tracing lines along the walls of the tunnel with fully automatic fire, he chased the creatures with 6.5 Grendal rounds. When Aya yelled out for them to run, he didnt.
Staying his ground, he half heartedly aimed and full heartedly fired at the zooming shapes. When they entered what looked like a vent of some sort or another, he followed Aya's lead and unloaded the rest of his 100 round drum into the hollow.
The dry click snapped his out of his killzone, and with a practiced, almost robotic cool, he ejected the magazine and slammed in a fresh one. Pulling the bolt back, he kept aim on the vent. "Get going, I'll cover the rear." He said in the now eerie quietness of the tunnel. He started to walk down where Aya had run to, keeping a slow pace and his rifle aimed. He would give them a chance to get moving, and then speed up.

Mike knew there was something wrong he could just feel it why would have they ran? he asked himself, mike then pulled out his shotgun and reloaded it as he walked towards the people further, he then heard a sound around the walls he pointed up and looked around, then he heard something leap quickly somewhere in the air, mike took caution and looked around, he could barely see anything it was so dark, Mike walked further more, and thought he heard something behind him and turned quickly then there was nothing there, mike turned around and continued forward towards the people, mike heard something again trying to get at him, Mike took off running as fast as he could shotgun in-hand, Mike turned on his flashlight and just took off toward the people he then thought to himself "Damn there is something there i just cant see it" Mike then yelled. "Hey wait up!" Mike saw a small light from the end of the tunnell but it was barely a blur he than ran and hoped he would run into someone.

Claypoole, realizing that the front seemed to be loosing their cool, knew that they wouldn't be able to keep up and still get to them safely. Now they were in the danger zone--- he expected it to be a danger zone--- that the front had gotten all frenzied up over. He knew if they wanted to get through safely, they were going to have to keep formation, keep their cool, and get through with a fighting advance. By the way they were heading, it was hard to call it what he felt like it was, a fighting withdrawal. But that was the nature of being cut off from the lead maneuver elements.... Remembering that they all had military training to a degree, he did exactly what had been ingrained into him as an N.C.O in the marine corp. He barked out in his command voice
TYSON! LEAP FROG WITH ME! PHILLIPS, FRONT GUARD! DOUBLE TIME, BUT MAINTAIN F**KING FORMATION!
The immediate, subconscious response drilled and built into them by their military training, they all began reacting to the voice, not just because of Claypoole's "leadership status" but all just the tone of the voice. Tyson turned, sped up as Claypoole turned around and covered him, and they switched positions. They "leap frogged" their way back at a rapid pace, which was rather exhausting and tedious work--- especially considering they were the most heavily armed and armored individuals in the team. Phillip's, as she had been told, went up ahead as they covered their advance. Phillip's kept scanning ahead of them, not quite thinking as she also moved her PLR-16 to scan ahead, moving rapidly but as she glanced over her shoulder consciously with a bit of training, she "maintained formation" with the two behind her, not getting too far ahead, and when she did, she adjusted position and let them catch up. By the sounds around them, it was a sure thing--- they were indeed in the "danger zone" the lead team had just ran away from. By the sounds of things, there was a newcomer up ahead, but he was human. Phillip's saw him, and began to watch out for him. To her, he didn't seem to be a threat, and wasn't aware of them... and it seemed he was heading away from them fast enough that he wouldn't get in there way. So she kept glancing all around, watching out for what she should be watching out for.

"Damnit... Im all alone in the insane town, what will i do now?"
Mike saw the light getting closer he needed to get their faster, Mike ran towards the light he was hoping he could get out and find someone.

Kyle was already jogging and aiming at the vent above as soon as he heard another croak. The monster wasn't just passing by; it was hunting them, and Kyle knew it. They were at somewhat of a disadvantage being in the dark, but because of their HUD systems, the team can easily see in night vision mode, however, the creatures were probably attuned to the dark naturally.
A shiver of movement crossed the ceilings. Kyle opened fired with a short burst on the general area, the bullets from his clashing on the cement ceiling. The result left nothing but shards of cement. It was the only thing that produced noticable sound, since his gun was silenced.
Kyle saw another figure quickly crawl across the ceiling and tried to keep up with it, but lost contact.
With an unsatisfied grunt, he hauled ass and began following Aya. It was pointless, and way too dangerous, to fight these things in this kind of environment. It would be better to get to the end of the tunnel so they can get a better view.

Light spilled across Aya's face burning her eyes, she grimmaced and held her arm up giving her iris' time to adjust. The art of stumbling and running were combined as she tripped through the Orange Line station. Aya held her Glock up and fired a snapshot into the head a nearby zombie; running completely on instinct now; she climbed up onto the platform and scrambled closer to the centre, her eyes finally coming to grips with their surroundings. Aya snapshotted several moderate threads in her immediate vicinity before turning around to check on the rest of her squad; she'd neglected helping them; she used her condition as an excuse, but with the warmth of the light and ability to see clearly gave her back some courage.
The world around her vibrated, Aya's vision was blurry and bloodshot almost like looking through red water; she potshot at a zombie and noticed through the process of aiming that she was shaking badly taking twice as long to choose the appropriate time to fire; her reflexes had also deteriorated. Aya had too realized that her perception was shot to sh*t, turning to find a zombie creeping up behind her. She didn't waste any time dropping it, however the first shot hit it in the neck while the second connected with the head. In summary, Aya's focus was relying on her instincts subconcious.
Aya ran back over to the track aiming down the tunnel she had come from; Kyle and Ludolf appeared fine, the other squad members were using their own method to make it to the platform in one piece. She barked an order, or rather, wanted to; all that escaped her mouth was a raspy slur; Aya placed her state at fault and instead used a different means to portray her wishes. She pointed to Kyle and Ludolf before pointing at the other tunnel at the opposite side of the platform and the zombies emerging from it, she didn't want them swarming the platform before Claypoole, Tyson and Emily had made it to safety. Then the being appeared.
Time slowed to a crawl as the black leathered reptilian skated out of the tunnel and along the track wall of the platform dangerously fast. It's skin slick and ebony with the visual texture of a snakes coat. The humanoid creature looked at Aya as it skidded by, its red catseye's glaring at her while it opened its mouth revealing its pink tongue and pearly white teeth. Then it disappeared, skating into the crowd of zombies at the opposite tunnel and knocking them over as it leaped back into the darkness. Aya was petrified, set in stone, the shock set back in. Although the reptilian had disappeared she was still stuck back at the part where it was glaring at her fiendishly, her sidearm pointing at the location.
It was almost to the point of collapse where Aya felt she could faint, running on the last dregs nearly completely emotionally drained. It was when her vision was fading to black that she felt a flame ignite in her stomach, it was a little late on arival but Progenitor was more than prepared to take control of Aya's mental situation. Colour returned to the visual world and she followed through with her movement, obviously seconds late, and shot furiously into the mosh pit of zombies that were converging on their position. Already many had climbed up onto the platform, moreover they were already upon her. Aya swiped her right leg across the floor, tripping the highly threatening zombie over and following through with bringing her leg up and heel down ontop of its head pushing everything on the inside - outside. Her heartbeat increaseddramatically, puming faster and more thoroughly; her adrenalin amalgamated with her fear to intesify Aya's overall status well above abnormal.
The speed of her potshots now proving invaluable as Aya connected each round with any particular area relative to the temple of each zombie. Her mind lagged however realizing after 5 or so clicks that she had drained the loaded mag of rounds, flicking the lever on the left face of her Glock to eject it.
The other team members were close now, a safe disatance anyway; Aya still wasn't prepared to provice covering fire while they were directly in front of her. She decided the next best method would be to combine fire, standing and moving over to Kyle and Ludolfs position while still firing upon the zombie horde. She signalled to move further up the platform and into the Orange Line terminal where Task Force Pantheon were holed up. Aya waited for Claypooles team to enter the light before moving towards the terminal, stopping twice to take more shots at the persistant zombies.
The sixth sense snapped at her to look at the adjacent end of the platform onto the next lot of tracks, Aya already had her Glock pointing in the appropriate direction. Her instincts screamed 'threat' while her heart stated otherwise, close to pulling the trigger at the being in question, 'Civilian?' Aya thought as she saw the person. He didn't wear any specific fatigues, the clothing was definitely casual; Aya signalled for him to hurry over before they vacated the area, keeping her iron sights focused on the area behind the man.

“Hostiles, twelve o’clock,” I barked as I rose my G22 and fired off two quick rounds at the mob of zombies that were crowding at the other side of the small subway terminal. Bringing down my rifle, I sprinted down the tracks and as soon as I reached the terminal, I jumped up onto the platform and started taking shots at the zombies coming out the other opening. Across the tracks I spotted Aya signaling for a thought to be civilian, who’d been following us for some time.
Popping the clip I had out, and loading in my second last full one, I took careful aim at the third last zombies at the other end of the tunnel. It’s face was barely attached to it’s head, and it gnawed at the air as if trying to eat an invisible piece of meat. A hideous grin greeted me through my scope, and I pulled the trigger putting the poor bastard to bed.
Just as I pulled back to bolt to eject my spent casing and load up a new one, I spotted a black figure which smashed it’s way through the last two zombies, and disappeared into the darkness of the tunnel. Even with my thermal imaging on, I still could barely see the creature, and for a few seconds I was convinced I was seeing things. That was until I happened to look up at the ceiling, and the relatively small air duct above me.
Through the thin grating, I thought I saw something, and carefully brought out my pistol after leaving my rifle to rest across my chest. I wasn’t worried about zombies, as they were quite a distance away, so I kept my eyes on the vent, and carefully aimed with my pistol before-
-it attacked. The menacing creature within the small air duct leapt forward, tearing the grate opening down with it as it pounced forward at me. Without having any time to think, I randomly pulled the trigger of my sidearm which struck my assailant in the abdomen. As it landed with it’s full weight on top of me, my sidearm was knocked out of my hands as I hit the ground and I instantly went for my knife in my boot, while pressing the creatures face away from myself with my free hand.
It took me only a matter of a few seconds to get my knife, and the creature had just pushed my other hand away when I struck it right in the back of the neck with my trusty knife. It’s red eyes looked down upon me menacingly, but it’s movements stopped. It let out a final, low croak before I pushed it off me with a heave, and got to my feet.
Upon wiping down my blade, I re-sheathed it and quickly picked up my sidearm from the ground before holstering that and raising my rifle. Glancing over at Aya, I sighed and rested my back against the wall I’d been crouching beside. That was too damn close.
