Todd had taken his time getting to the air-port, a week's worth of time wasted finding a route that would not alert a group of ghouls, hunger pains were getting to him, Although it has been a feeling that the male could ignore, for now at least. Fatigue was something he was experiencing at this point. He was only human, still in shame from his days in the military, but he still was a human.
"... I'm too old for this bull."
This was the first thing that came to mind while he walked. 30 years on this earth was not quite enough to out-right say this, but no one in any sane-sort of sane mentality would say anything to themselves. Todd had soon arrived at the one spot that would take him from this hell, to one that would be much worse.
Of course, he knew that he wouldn't be able to walk into the place how he is. He could hear the organized chaos of a defense that seemed to be mounted in this area, so before he got to the boundaries set by the military, he had two or so forms of ID in hand, mostly his Driver's license and his old set of Dog-tags.
The metal chain of his 'tags would be wrapped around his first two fingers, while the rest of his hand held the Plastic card that was his other form of Identification. Of course this would have not been enough: Logically he would be searched for signs of transfer of whatever was causing this hell to start and to spread, so he was expecting for this, as well as the stuff he had on was to be searched, including weaponry.
"I hope they're not taking weapons from survivors."
Another thought, which had drifted in the back of his head. This was one of those things that was caused by paranoia, but now was lodged in the back of his head, as a 'what if' type of thing that was brought up by a mindset produced by the war on humanity.
After a minute or two of thought, he shook it away. It was not like him to think too deeply into a 'what if' type of situation, although it could not be helped.
Todd exhaled a bit, blowing a small bit of smoke that he held on from the last hit of a cancer-stick he had been puffing on for the past half-hour or so, he dropped the now dead butt, and snuffed it out with the heavy sole of his boot. With this last bit of action, he'd start to walk in the direction of the entrance of the airport, stopping when told to.
