"Hey Sam, do you know if this place is dry?" Mac said, breaking the silence that had plagued the vehicle for the last 2 hours, that and the lingering scent of 1 day old take out scrounged from some evacuees.
"Dry? What do you mean" Sam said, shooting a confused look in Mac's direction "Ohhh." She said as Mac pointed to the fuel gauge, lingering above the E. "Well I don't know honestly, I hitch hiked my way out of here and didn't give this much of a second thought really. I think we ought to just get out at the nearest 7-Eleven and resupply there. Maybe Cam can wake up for once too." As she nudged Cam awake.
"Huh, wha? *yawn* What's going on? Oh hey look at that, the sun's still up, what time is it?" Cam glanced at his watch, "Hmm, look at that, 18:29, perfect time for some food don't you think Sam?" Cam said as his eyes fell on Sam, who was paying more attention to the road than anything else. "Hey why're you looking there Sam? Mac's got this under control, don't you Mac?"
"Hey leave me out of this Cam. You handle you're own relationship problems, hey this looks like an ok place to stop." He said as he pulled over beside a pump at a nearby gas station.
Mac got out, turned on the pump and began filling the truck. "Hmm, you know maybe there is an upside to this, free gas, am I right? He he, hey don't be getting those cheap ass wraps again like you always get Cam, get me a burger or something for Christ's sake."
"Mac they probably don't even have any left, further more why the Hell does it matter to you, if you want a burger, why don't you come in here and get it yourself, eh? Come on Sam." He said as he opened the passenger door and got out. He held out his hand to help Sam out, but she simply ignores it and jumps to the ground.
"Don't think courtesy is going to help you here Cam, despite how happy I am to see you, I'm still very upset at the fact that you came here for you own selfish reasons." She hissed at Cam, with a scowl on her face as she walked towards the entrance to the gas station.
"Excuse me, princess, why didn't you simply tell me not to come when we last spoke then? If you had reassured me then I probably wouldn't have taken it upon myself to come all the way over here and rescue you." Cam said as he followed Sam into the store, and as they went in, more bickering followed as they looked for food, batteries, other supplies.
"Damn I feel sorry for that kid, it's not like it was a bad decision really. Eh, whatever, she's probably just steamed now to cover up how glad she is to see him." Mac said to himself as he topped off the tank. He begins to whistle, not noticing the dragging sound of feet against pavement. "You know I think I preferred no talking for the last two hours instead of a nonstop bickerfest amongst those two." He continued. As he lights a cigarette, he hops into the cab and turns the key in the ignition. *vroomvromvromvromvromvrom* "C'mon sweetheart, don't die on me today." Mac turned the key again. *vromvromvromvromvromvrom*
With a heavy sigh Mac popped the hood and got out and moved to the front of the truck to take a look inside.
"Awww, damn it." He said under his breath, "Hey Cam can you grab some motor oil too? You know which type I'm looking for."
"You serious? Man considering how much oil we've run through that thing, I'm not surprised if we've left a couple slicks behind on road." Cam shouted back, shaking his head as he looked for motor oil. "Hey Sam, just throw everything in my pack, k?"
"Sure Cam, how much do you think we'll need? Enough tuna fish to regrow your brains now doubt."
"Are you going to continue with this still?"
"Sure, why not? I'll stop when I want to."
"All right fine. Ok Mac I got the oil, let's get the hell outta here." He shouted as he picked up a bottle of motor oil, not noticing a hand laying across the shelf.
"Come on Sam, let's get out of here and fast." Cam put his arm around her shoulders and she pushed them off, still being in an icy mood. "All right then, fine, be that way."
"Come on you two lovebirds, you get in the truck and start 'er up while I get some oil in her." Mac said with a slight chuckle in his voice. He began whistling while he dumped the oil into the engine. "s*** I hope she'll last long enough for us to get out of this hell hole."
"Hey Mac don't say that out loud, you know saying that will just make it happen." Cam shouted out the window.
"Oh yeah? How do you reckon that Cam?" Mac shouted back.
"Movies man, every time someone says something like that, it happens, it's a curse. I also know that it's better to just shut up about it and not worry about it, saves arguing time later. Any ways, let's start her up and get over to the dorms already." Cam said as he turned the ignition and Mac walked around to get in on the driver's side.
*vromvromvromvroooooommm* As the truck started up and shattered the silence that had lingered for so long. "Whee whooo, let's get a move on there." Mac said as he swung into the cab and slammed the door shut, and as he was doing so, a hand got stuck in the door and was cut right off from the force of Mac slamming the door.
The group paused and looked at the disembodied hand with wonder and fear, they all knew what was coming next. They turned their heads in the direction that hand had come and gazed, to their horror, at their first encounter with the living dead.
"Mac, floor it and let's get the f**k out of here!!!!" Cam said as calmly as possible in the situation. "Jesus Christ, you never know how you're gonna react till you finally see one." Cam shuddered as they sped away along the lonely street, suddenly seeing more zombies, and other creatures now wandering the streets.
"I hope my friends are still ok, we're not more than 10 blocks from the turn off to get to our housing." Sam said, now looking a bit more horrified than her general, placid face.
"You're friends!? I just hope we make it out of this alive now." Mac said as he pressed harder on the accelerator.

"Does anyone else find it weird that the undead just started showing up now!!" Cam said, almost immediately after they had sped away from the now handless zombie. "I mean, I know that it's now pitch black dark out, but it doesn't make sense that the zombies would just all of a sudden appear in this way!"
"Cam shut up, just shut up!" Sam said, as she jabbed him in the side.
"Ow, hey careful, I want to live through this eh?" Cam said as he started rubbing the side where Sam struck him. "All right then, I'll just stop talking then, now I'm wondering what we're going to be able to do if it turns out your friends are dead." As cam finished speaking, a grim look fell over Sam, she had not looked at all afraid until this moment.
"Mac, we're nearing the turn off. Just turn right at this junction and then it will be 3 more blocks after that."
"All right, but you better be on the look out because I ain't slowing down sweetheart." Mac said, not taking his eyes off the road. "Ok, so turn here then 3 more blocks?" Mac said as he turned a hard right, the tires screeching from the inertial push of a sharp turn.
"So Sam, do you reckon we'll be putting those shooting skills to much use before we get out of here?" Cam said as he put his hand in his pocket just to touch that P229 that would probably save their skins a few times in the coming onslaught.
"I think that all depends Cam. Who do you think we'll be shooting?" She said as she shot him another cold glance. "Wait, stop right here Mac. This is it, 3rd floor. Come on Cam, show me your actually useful and cover me." She said as she scrambled to open the door to get out of the truck.
"Ok Sam, take it easy, we don't want to rush into this situation, we don't know what's in there. We don't know if your friends are still alive. So before we bust in there let's get a game plan going." Cam said, grabbing Sam's arm as she jumped out of the truck. "Ok I've got 2 clips for the P229, so that's 26 bullets to use in there for me, I don't want to bring in the Enfield because it's big and will take too long to shoot off accurately in such a closed off space. Sam? Mac? What do you guys have?
"Well, this little Colt only carries 7 rounds, and I do have 2 clips, so that gives me 14." Sam said as she pulled out the little .38 she had mentioned at their first meeting.
"I've got a P99, so that's 16 per clip since I've got a 9 mil. I've got 2 clips so that's 32 here. Unfortunately that's all I have so we're going to have to be careful later on." Mac said, brandishing his pistol, much to the surprise of Cam.
"Wow Mac, all this time and I never knew you had that. Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't feel it was necessary kid, besides now you know."
"All right then, ok so they're on the 3rd floor you say Sam." Cam said looking at Sam
"Correct, if we go up the stairs to the right on the main floor our room will be the 4th on the left." Sam said, closing her eyes and placing her hands in front of her mentally picturing the layout of the building.
"Ok, so we should only shoot if something has it's attention on us, we don't have silencers so they will hear us if we start shooting. We don't want to get into trouble, we want to avoid it as much as possible all right?"
"Fine here Cam, are safety's off any ways?" Mac said, twirling his gun in his fingers.
"Might as well, just to be on the safe side. Ok, now considering how many zombies we saw driving by, I think we may have drawn a bit of attention to ourselves any ways, so let's move fast people." And as he finished, Cam turned around and began creeping towards the front doors. "Here goes nothing." He whispered, loud enough for Sam and Mac to hear.

The Thundering roar of the propellers was very audible. Morse lifted up from his seat a bit to look down at the street below. They seemed to be alive with movement, as hundreds walking corpses bounced off of each other. Cars were lining the streets, some crashed others just open. It was a sight to see, but not one that Morse hadn’t seen before in Los Angelis, San Diego, San Francisco, and any other number of places he had been deployed at in the last outbreak. With on hand he reached over to the co pilot seat, which was empty because Morse never flew with a co pilot, and with the pilot shortage in TFP it gave him a better reason not to. There sat 5 cans of “Dr. Pepper” which was the only thing Morse was drinking these days. He had a bit a paranoia of what was in the water already and he drank Dr. Pepper a lot already which gave him his nickname “Doc”. He clicked the tab open with a single finger and took a sip.
Alright guys, welcome to D.C. Radar screens lookin pretty quiet, or atleast as quiet as a major population center can be in a situation like this. So where exactly am I sposed to be dropping ya off? Morse asked over the intercom on the chopper. He kept it going in a straight flight pattern straight over the main street.

Emma followed Ken to the living room of an apartment on the 6th floor. "There is no one here, why do we keep searching this place?" Emma asked. Ken didn't say anything he just kept on going. The room seemed to be empty, no sign of survivors or zombies.
Suddenly Emma heard gunfire from the south corner of the 6th floor. "Sir?" She said to her radio. "Sir, come in?" She continued. The gunfire stopped as suddenly as it had started and then Burton's voice talked trough the radio "Everything is fine, we just ran in to few zombies". Emma sighed and walked to the window.
She heard noise from outside, noise that was very familiar. "Sir, there is something outside" Emma said. "What is it?" Burton's voice asked. "It's almost like an propeller sound" Emma said and tried to look outside. "That is impossible, our pilot has left already" Burton said. "Maybe it is nothing" Emma said and walked back to Ken. "Emma, we should continue to the next floor" Ken said and left the room. Emma didn't say nothing as she was still wondering the noise. She took her pistol and followed Ken.

"Hey, I think I just heard gunfire!" Sam said cautiously and quietly. Mac and Cam turned around.
"Are you sure? I didn't hear anything, but hell, my nerves are shot right now the only thing that could get me now is a zombie, or maybe another human being, but I don't know, I just don't know." Mac said, his hand twitching slightly, luckily not his gun hand. "What floor are we on any ways, these stairways give me the creeps."
"We're only up to the 2nd floor Mac, and besides, you think this is creepy? It's interesting, it actually seems better lit in here, despite the fact that all the emergency power generators have probably been exhausted, or turned off by now." He crept towards a door as the stairs turned into a landing. "Ok this is it, now remember, we don't shoot unless we have to so if there's only 1 zombie in there but it doesn't notice us, we leave it alone ok?"
"*whew*... ok." Mac said, still twitching slightly, this time through his whole body.
"All right Cam, what are we waiting for? My friends are probably in worse shape than Mac, let's go already." Sam said, moving forward and grabbing the handle.
"Ok, let's do this then, 4th on the left, right Sam?" He said giving one final look to Sam before they barged into the hallway.
"Correct, Cam, all right let's move." Sam said, getting more anxious by the minute. Cam opened the door and Sam went in first with her gun drawn and pointed down the hallway, Mac followed and Cam took the rear, watching one last time to see if anything had followed them upstairs while they had been talking and moving slowly and cautiously.
The hallways were exceedingly darker than the stairway had been, and the three were having quite a hard time seeing anything, much less finding the 4th door on the left. There were soft moaning sounds that seemed far away. The three finally found the 4th door on the left.
"Wait." Cam said as he crept by the door and put his ear to the door to hear anything.
"Cam what are you doing? We've gotta get in there." Sam said and she tried to force him through the door.
"Shhhhh, quiet Sam, I'm trying to tell if the room is empty, if there are still people in there, or if they're all... zombies."
"Oh come on Cam, that's stupid, let's just open the door a smidge and check it out that way."
"Fine then, open the door and you check it out." Ca, said as he moved to let Sam near the door.

(My posts are usually longer, but I cant go into much detail as I'm controlling a buddies NPC's as well as the movement of the chopper, which is also not mine.)
"Your dropping us off on top of a building! We'll make our way to the target building from there. Cover us and provide CAS. When were done, your our ride!" Middleton said into the headset, laying out the relatively simple plan in his trade mark short, sweet, and to the point manner. As the chopper drifted through the air, Middleton spotted a building that would be perfect. It looked clean and quite undamaged, meaning it was most likely clear. If not, he doubted his men would have a problem dealing with any of those fu*ks.
"Down there!" He yelled into the microphone, probably giving Bishop a ringing in his ear. The chopper drifted to the building, and the elite force of Task Force Pantheon soldiers attached themselves to a rope and slid down one by one. The seven man team spread out on the rooftops, and after making sure it was clear they moved to the door leading to the lower levels. Everything went by with no hitch and no verbal words being given as the door was breeched and the men moved in.

It seemed that the building was nearly empty as Emma and Ken haven't seen anything living or dead. Burton and Williamson had moved to the 5th floor and the orders were clear the 3rd floor. Emma opened the door and carefully stepped in the hallway. With her night vision goggles she saw an lonely zombie walking in the other end of the hallway. She took her rifle and took a position in the middle of the hallway. Ken covered her back while she aimed. "Right in the middle of the back of his head" Emma said before she pulled the trigger. A smile came to her face when she saw how the impact threw the zombie on the floor. She slided the blot back and put the safety on.
"We are ready to go?" Ken asked. "Yes" Emma said. Both started walking towards the dead zombie to see if it was dead. Ken shot a quick burst to the back of the zombie. "Hey, we don't need to wake up the whole building" Emma said. "Don't worry they wont here this as long as i have my suppressor on" Ken said and pointed his gun. "Okay, we need to clear this floor" Emma said.
She turned from the corner to see what was in the next hallway. It was empty but she was sure that she heard human voices. "Ken, i think there is someone in this building" Emma said quietly.

Bishop watched as the squad repelled from his Chopper. He kept the chopper level as each one set down, as they finished deploying Bishop considered what he was going to do. The last of the men descended and Bishop pulled away. He gained altitude and moved away from the building. As he did he pulled towards the direction of the Monument Park. He'd been there once before but it didn't look anything like it did when he was there. Hundreds of walking corpses bumped into each other and stumbled around on the grass.
It was like this through out the entire city from what Bishop could see. He took a sip from the can in his hand.
Alright i'll be in a close range of your squad, i might set the bird down in a bit so i don't cause to much attention, just give me a haller when ya want somethin gone. Bishop said as he began to circle over monument park.

*click* went the door as Sam opened it a crack to view the inside of the room. "A lot good this is doing." She whispered to Cam. "I can barely see in front of me, you got that zippo?" As she held out her hand expecting Cam to hand it right over.
"Careful with it, we don't want to bring attention to ourselves and even though it is unlikely zombies can think that a new light means other people are around I don't want to take that risk ok?" He said as he pulled out his red zippo and handed it to Sam. As he did so, Mac reached over and grabbed his shoulder lightly.
"Cam, I'm almost certain that I heard a thud from somewhere around here, and since it's the first thing I've heard since we got in here, I'm almost certain it was a zombie."
Cam turned around to face Mac. "But what does that mean? Maybe it simply fell over or something like that. What are you getting at here Mac?"
"I don't think we're alone Cam, I think there are survivors in this building. We have to be very cautious about what we point our guns at now, especially in this darkness."
"I hear you Mac, I'll let Sam know when she comes back out." Cam said turning back to the doorway to see that Sam had already gone in about 5' or so, given the distance the light of the zippo was.
"Cam, Mac, you should come in here, it looks safe, this is the only door besides the 2 bedrooms and the bathroom, and those are further inside." And she turned around and continued further inward, Cam and Mac following close behind.
"Sam this place looks deserted, I see no real signs of life here." Cam said, looking at whatever was there, the coat racks were bare. "We might be wrong and they may have already left, I dunno this just doesn't seem right."
"I think you're right Cam, I think they may have left already, or if not, the may have been taken already. I'm going to check the bedroom anyway, ok?" Sam said as she moved from the hallway to the living room, on her way to the first bedroom.
"Mac, see if you can find some flashlights or something, I'm going to check the bathroom." Cam said as he started moving.
"How the hell do you expect me to find a flashlight without any light Cam? I don't even think I could find any batteries, sheesh!" Mac said, as he moved inward, looking for the kitchen. "I'll check the kitchen any ways, see if there's anything of use there."
"Cam the first bedroom is clear, more than that it's bare, no sheets on the bed, no nothing. If it wasn't the girls who left with all this, I'm thinking our dorm was looted. I'll check the 2nd bedroom just in case." Sam said as she moved to the other bedroom in the apartment.
"I think you're right Sam, I think this place was looted. I don't think that your friends would've had the sense to take the bleach or any of the cleaning supplies from the bathroom, but then again, I have been wrong before. Found anything yet Mac?"
"Well, I've found some candles, but I'm not sure what good those will do in the long run."
"They might not do anything in the long run, but for right now they're better than nothing, so we'll take 'em." Cam said, coming into kitchen to check it out. "Hmm, there any holders in there as well? It's a stretch, given what's in the place, but we may as well try."
"Nope, no holders left, guess we'll have to do some makeshift ones then." Mac started to move towards the hallway, and the way out. "Cam I think we've seen all there is to see in this apartment, her friends have high tailed it outta here long ago, let's go before we run into any trouble."
"All right Mac, I'll go get Sam, then we can vamoose." And Cam quickly scuttled off to get Sam, who was just opening the door to the 2nd bedroom. "Sam, we've gotta go, we can't stay here much longer."
"All right Cam, I'll just check this last room and then we can leave." She said as she opened the last door. *Creeeeeeaaaaaakkk* went the door, and all at once a smell of decay and rotting flesh hit both Sam and Cam square in the face.
"*Cough* oh God Sam, let's get out of here now, and quick before it finds us!" Cam said as he turned face, grabbed Sam and started heading for the door. "Mac, we found one, get the f**k out of here man!"
"uuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnggggg" Came the inhuman moan of the infamous zombie. And it was coming right for the three, now that it could hear them.
"s***, let's get outside now you two!" Mac said from the building hallway, with his P99 drawn and pointing at the doorway. And just as Sam and Cam came running out of the apartment, he was certain he had heard some movement from elsewhere on the floor. "what is going on? I swear there's someone else here." He thought to himself. "Quick kids, back to the stairs." He said as they were now stopping by him, preparing to fire as well.
"We're all in on this one Mac, our first kill, we may as well all take part in it" Cam said, with a somewhat devilish grin on his face.
The zombie, begrudgingly limped out towards the doorway, and as soon as it was in their sights *baBAMMM* as the three fired almost simultaneously at the zombie, watching it's brains get plastered on the walls behind it.

Emma and Ken were running towards the noise when Burton's voice yelled trough the radio. "Who fired?!" He said. Emma and Ken looked at each others. "It wasn't us, sir" Ken said to the radio. Emma waved to Ken to stop and peek around the corner. They saw three kids with guns standing in the hallway looking somewhat shocked. "Sir, we have survivors here, three kids" Emma said. "They are armed" she continued. There was a few moments of silence before Burton answered. "Which floor are you on?" he asked. "Third" Emma said. "We will be there shortly, take them in" Burton said. She pulled the balaclava over her face and checked that her night vision goggles were in place. She watched Ken to do the same.
She loaded her pistol. Ken nodded to her and they started slowly moving towards the kids. Both of them pointed their guns towards them. Emma kept a good eye on the kids and their weapons in case they would do something stupid. They were getting close to them. "BSAA, drop your guns!" Emma and Ken shouted.

Their hands shot into the air almost as fast as they had drew their guns on the zombie. But at the same time a look of satisfaction crossed over their faces knowing that they had at least found someone who wasn't a zombie, and from the sounds of it, they were better armed than they were.
"You know miss, I may look like a kid to you, but 35 years kind of changes things don't it." Mac said, beginning to turn around to face the person who had shouted at them.
"Mac, don't do something stupid, just because we've found another survivor sure as hell doesn't mean we're better off." Cam said, but as he said it, he turned around as well to see who was present.
"Well at least it's another woman, it's better than nothing knowing that all my friends left." Said Sam, turning around as well. "A balaclava? What good is that going to do against those zombies, they'll still find a way to eat your face off you know." Sam said, through clenched teeth, she had had enough of this silliness.

OOC: Lets do this L4D apartment complex style eh? Corporal Watson took point for the squad, immediately slipping through the doorway after the door was breached. Watson's fireteam dutifully followed in after him then, and Samuel Winters took position behind Watson as number 2 for the squad. The other two men of 3rd squads first fireteam followed behind them, both of them armed with M468's and one with an AG-C attached. The rear fireteam had a designated marksman, an Ultimax, and two more riflemen with one AG-C as the other fireteam. Corporal Adlam was 2nd fireteams leader, and their grenadier. The squad leader, Nathan Middleton, had a .50 beowulf AR-15 with 34 round drum, and was in the middle of the formation, 2nd fire team covering the rear with the designated marksman right behind the squad leader.Watson stormed down the stairway, whispering near silently into his mike "clear", and then got to the next doorway. He stepped up, checked to confirm it was locked, and then stepped back preparing to breach the door with his shotgun. He looked up at Winters and saysStack up. Winters, you enter first. turn left and cover that room. P.F.C Bigler, head left and cover with Winters. P.F.C Randal, you head right. I'll follow. Middleton and the rest of the team will follow and pile right, through that window, onto the fireescape, and use it to pile down to street level. Winters, signal when ready.

Emma didn't answer for the older man, instead she contacted Burton with the radio. "Sir, we have them, what is your position?" Emma said. "We are in the staircase, ETA 1 minute" Burton's voice said. "Roger that" Emma said and turned back to the three. "You better listen to your friends mister" Emma said to the person that was called "Mac". "They won't find a way, missy!" Emma answered to the girl. Emma lowered her gun and took few steps forward. She quickly analyzed the condition of the three. "Are you three alright?" She asked with a more friendlier tone than before. "Why are you here?" Ken asked still pointing the gun at them.

"I could ask you that same question." Cam said, not necessarily taking a 'tough' stance, but putting himself forward as one who would not be treated like a child. "We're here to rescue some friends, however we just found out that they're more than likely gone, so we were just on our way back to our vehicle to get out of this city. Also, no matter who you are, or who you think you are, we're not relinquishing our weapons when there is a city full of flesh eating zombies nearby."
"Here, here Cam." Sam said, patting him on the back, oddly enough the first profoundly nice thing she had said to him since their meeting on the highway. "As an added note, miss, we may be kids but we're not incapable of taking care of ourselves, Cam and I have been taking civilian firearms training for the past 3 years, we're not new to this game, sure we're not soldiers by any stretch but we're not about to shoot ourselves in the foot when running away from a zombie either."
"Well, now that we've somewhat introduced ourselves, why don't you put that machine gun down before you do something you'll regret." Mac said, motioning to the man who still had his gun trained on the three. "And maybe you two can tell us who you're working for and why you're shaking down people who, you know, aren't zombies."
