Kross took his weapon back from the man as he got in. then kross jumped on the back of the vehicle just before the hounds got to them. The vehicle spinning out and leaving the dogs in the dust and kross holding on for his life.Kross exclaimed as the man who was driving didn't do so properly.
"Whoa man I'm back here!!! Watch those bloody bumbs!!!"
Looking back with his luger raised he noticed that there where no zombies. Nothing was following them any more in his mind he thought that there was something wrong but he dismissed it and thought to himself pessimistically.
"Whew, they're gone....but not for long..."
Kross made grave look over his shoulders and looked up at the stars and thought about his father.

"Alright, hang on." Nigel said nervously as he put his foot to the gas pettle. The jeep jerked foreward and veared to the left causing him to run over the mailbox and make its way clumsily on the road. "Okay. I think I got it." He said. He hit the gas again and it jetted foreward causing Nigel to tense up. His arms stiffened making it hard to stear as he ran over one of the dogs. "Bullocks." He muttered as the jeep swerved several times. After awhile Nigel managed to learn the art of driving and the team left the residential area and headed north. OOC: Feels good to be back... I'm a little rusty but i bounce back quick Raine sat in a chair in a very familiar house. After thinking for a few seconds, she realized it was Jonathan's. It looked alot better now and it was fixed up. Raine went to look over her shoulder to see out the window, but saw that the window was boarded up. In fact, they all were boarded...
Even though there were zombies walking around, she hasn't been outside in over 3 years. She remembers living in the Arklay mountains with someone, then waking up here. Everything between that is a big blur, causing Raine to wonder where her life went. She looked across the room and saw her guns and a piece of paper. Standing up, she walked over to read the note, and it said:Raine, You will know what to do, and when it is time to do it. I'll be keeping an eye on you. There was no signature at the bottom of the paper. This confused Raine, who would be watching? And what did she have to do? She sat back down, lighting a cigarette and tried to remember thoughts that would probably not come back on their own....

Joey drove through the streets, it was just like years ago. The same carnage that plagued the city before, destruction was all over as far as he could see. He honestly had no idea why he was here, but he felt that it was his duty as a surviver of the first outbreak ensure the safetly of the people in the city now. The truck sped along the streets, entering the Sunset Hills from the western side. Just as he passed by the houses, he could see the people who had made shelter inside there homes. Most of which were sorely mistaken if they thought it would hold them off, but some were still inside. As much as Joey wouldve liked to get out and help everyone, he couldnt risk any collateral damage to others around him.
As Joey rolled along the street, he was paying attention to a window. Two young girls were inside, and they were under attack by a group of about fifteen infected. As he focused his attention back towards the road, a piece of debris was sucked under his vehicle, ramping the truck into airborn and sending it upside down onto the pavement...
Joey opened his eyes, not knowing how long he was out for. He didnt even remember anything that happened, just the impact knocking him unconcious. It all happened so fast. Suddonly, an arm reached inside through the windshield and grabbed his arm. Joey unstrapped his seatbelt and kicked the infected back, and then rolled out onto the road. Climbing to his feet, he pulled out his knife, and jumped onto the corpse. Joey then drove the knife into its eye socket, twisting and turning it back and fourth until all motion stopped. Yanking it back out, he wiped the blood from the steel blade onto the zombies shirt, and placed it back into its holster. Then he pulled out his Kobra, and aimed it around back and forth down and up the street, checking for signs of anymore danger.
When the coast was clear, Joey let it down, and then looked back at the truck. It didnt look like he would be able to use it again, unless he could flip it back over somehow. Now he had no choice but to find a building that looked like it could be a good barricade from the undead, at least until he made a plan. After walking down the street for a good twenty minuits, Joey recognised a certain area of the Sunset Hills. It was the same house he had been to when he first entered the city during the outbreak before. Running up to the front door, he saw that it was barricaded off, but it seemed newer then the rest. Plus, minimum damage onto the house made him realise that a certain somebody could still be inside.
Joey peered through the side window between two boards, but before he could catch a glimpse of anything, he heard a noise coming from down the street. Quickly aiming his gun toward the sound, he figured that there would be some action, but to his surprise, there was nothing in sight. Joey turned back around, and then walked back to the front door. Raising his hand, he went to bang on the door and call out to whoever might be inside, but then thought about it for another minuit. He didnt want the yelling to attract any unwanted attention towards his location, but there didnt seem to be any infected around. Pressing his hand firmly on the door, he brough back a fist, and then knocked several times. "Hey! Is anyone in there?! Im not infected..."

Raine heard a knock on the front door and stood up to open it. As she opened the door slowly she was looking into the eyes of a tall man. She looked him over, checking him for any wounds then finally let him inside.
Raine finished her cigarette and placed it into the ashtray on the table. The room was dark except for light that was coming from candles around the house. Raine didn't need any unwanted attention drawn to her. She sat back on the couch as the man stood a few feet away from her. Raine couldn't help but feel like she knew this man, but she couldn't remember his name.
''So'' Raine said, ''What brings you to this crappy part of town?''

Joey thought nobody would answer, but then the door opened up, jolting his attention to the woman standing inside with a cigarette in her hand. He didnt mind the smell of rotting flesh, but when it came to tobaco smoke, he would much rather be in another room. She looked at him around, seemingly checking for signs of infect. He would do the same in this situation, but that wasnt his intrest. The woman placed the cigarette in the ashtray, and then looked at him in the eyes, asking why he was here. Joey put his gun away, and then looked at the woman, who now sat on the couch. "This place looked famillier, so I decided to check it out... That, and my truck outside is damage, so I needed some refuge. I hope you dont mind..."
Joey looked around the room, it looked just like he remembered it. Only there were some obvious changes, it still stood out in his head, hes been here before. But the woman who let him inside, her face escaped him, but the voice clicked in. Whoever she was, she would be safe inside this house as long as the undead keep back. He slowely walked over infront of the woman, and bent down just slightly closer to her, and stuck out his hand for a friendly greeting. "The names Joseph Doucette, but you can call me Joey... If you need anything, just let me know..." Joey wanted to be as non threatening as possible, it was the best way to keep from making enemies. Normally, he wouldnt give himself away, but its not like she was going to kill him or anything...

Raine smiled and accepted his gesture as she gripped his hand tightly. ''Nice to meet you.'' Raine stared at him for a second trying to figure out why he looked so familiar. But still, nothing was coming to her mind. ''I don't remember how i got here. All i know was i woke up in a room upstairs..'' She stopped for a minute and closed her eyes. Joey Doucette....just hearing the name sent a quick chill down her spine and caused her hand to twitch. But it stopped just as quickly as it started.
Raine looked around the room convinced she was hearing something upstairs. As she made her way to the stairs she was startled by a gray cat running down the stairs. Raine shook her head and walked back to Joey. She saw him staring at her and she smiled... ''The name's Raine by the way... Raine Marshall.''

Joey looked at the woman with a puzzled face, and then quickly turned his back toward her. He didnt know what to say, and really wasnt quite sure if it was actually her or not. She looked so, different, from the last time he had saw her. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a photo of Raine that he had taken not long after the outbreak. Looking back at the woman, he compared the photo to her face, and then shook his head. Not in disagreement, but in uncertainty. Looking back at the photo for one last comparisson, he then put it away, and looked at her face. Could it really be her? "Its a... Pleasure to meet you, Ra-" But the name couldnt leave his mouth.
Joey thought hard, this was all making no sense whatsoever. If it was Raine, thens she wouldve said more then just a hello. But if its not Raine, then that means the woman is an imposter. Switching back between the two options, he tried so hard to make a third, but nothing it just didnt make any sense. Then something came to mind, something that would prove that she really is Raine, or so he hoped. Joey walked up to the woman, and then lefted up his shirt, revealing the scars on his body from years ago. It was one memory that he never wanted to bring up again, but it seemed like the most powerful. While his body was now fully exposed, he looked at the woman, and spoke in a serious voice. "Raine? Did I forgive you?"

Raine looked at Joey both confused and a bit irritated. ''What the hell are you talking about....'' Raine said. ''I don't even know-...'' Then suddenly something happened in her head. As she closed her eyes she could see this man lying on the couch in a cabin somewhere being tortured by a woman...Raine was that woman.
It all played out like a movie on television, she was slicing this man's skin in random places as he stared at her with tears in his eyes. Raine opened her eyes to look at him once more and she studied the scars on his chest and stomach. There was one particular scar that caught her attention and it was located on his throat. It was small and not too deep but it was still able to see. She ran a finger across the scar on his neck and she looked at him. ''I- I'm so sorry.....Why would i do that to you?''
Raine stepped back a few inches shaking her head. She fully remembered it now. She took the knife and held him down and she cut him over and over again. But one thing she couldn't understand was why didn't she kill him? There must have been a reason she purposely missed organs and cut his neck so shallow. Hopefully he could help her figure this one out....

Joey was obviously puzzled, but he couldnt be as selfish to only think about his confusion. He was possitive this woman was Raine, he could tell it just by the way she ran her finger across his neck. But something happened to her, and she couldnt remember details. Instead of testing her even more, he just pulled his shirt back down, and sat down on the nearby couch. "Its... Quite a long story, actually... But thats not important right now..." Joey wanted to tell Raine the story, but he really didnt have the courage to bring it up again. Forgive and forget, that always made things better in the end for everyone. Karma wouldnt play any role in her life, not after all these years.
"Do you know the name... Jonathan? Ring any bells at all? You could say he was the one that made things complicated..." Joey paused. He couldnt understand it for himself why he would have to explain to her about Jonathan. Raine should remember him of all people, the scars on her own body could prove that. "...And you didnt kill me because... I was important to you..." Joey didnt want to get into the whole episode, they would be sitting her for the whole night and into tomorrow if he did. "..And your important to me, nothing will change that..." He put himself in her shoes, this would all sound too crazy for her. But there was no other way to say it, she would just have to learn for herself. "...Your Raine, my guardian angel, the reason im alive..."
Joey stood up off the couch, and then walked to the side of the room. It was hard to stay still, after all, this was pretty intense. He would have to tell Raine everything that happened, but there was so much. But focusing on the now of the situation seemed like it was the best idea, she could catch up on the detail later. From her point of view, according to what he thought anyways, they were just two acquaintances meeting for the first time in this warzone, and survival was still the main factor here. "Listen... Im really sorry about all of this, but ill give you some time to think... When your ready to get out of here, come and get me... That is, if you wanna tag along..." Joey gave Raine a smile from the corner of his mouth, and then left the house, closing the door behind him.

Raine nodded in Joey's direction and watched as he walked out the front door. He left her there in such an awkward moment, not to mention a confusing one too. And why would he bring up Jonathan the way he did? She remembered a man by that name, but to her, he didn't seem the least bit complicating.
Raine remembers being walked into this very house by a tall man who was in very good shape. She also remembers he said his name was Jon. But was it the same man Joey told her about? To Raine, it seemed like two completely different people. She really needed to know who Joey was talking about and get the whole story.
When Raine had finished collecting her thoughts, she decided to go talk to Joey. Someone had to tell her the truth and it might as well be him. If he knew her as well as he claimed he did, he could fill her in. Raine grabbed her things and made her way to the door, letting her fingers linger on the door handle for a moment before opening it. She finally stepped outside and looked at Joey, ''Ok... Please tell me what I'm missing here...'' She said to him.

After standing on the driveway, focusing his attention on the adjacent house, Joey heard the door open with Raine coming outside. She asked him to fill her in, and he knew that it would have to come one way or another. He turned around, and then jerked his head in a directional motion down the road. "Lets walk and walk, were exposed out here..." Joey knew that Raine would understand that no matter what she didnt know, she still knew that survival was a top priority. As she followed closely beside Joey, he thought of the right words to say. No wanted her to become impatient, he figured the best explaination would be to just say what came to mind.
"We were partners, during the last outbreak... Since the beginning of my time in Raccoon City, ive stuck close to you. It was like we were unseperable, and together unstoppable..." Joey looked down the street, making sure there wasnt any of those undead blocking the path. As soon as it looked clear for another good while, he contenued to speak. "But it was more then that, there was a deeper connecton between us. Something nobody could really understand, especially Jonathan. Why cant you just..." Joey knew he was going to lose his cool, but you couldnt blame him. This was really difficult to comprehend, he just had to make the best of it, and try to make sense of everything. Not just for his own sake, but for Raines aswell.
Joey stopped shook his head. He was getting a little too worked up, and really just needed to take things slower. There was no rush, she wasnt going anywhere. "...Sorry... Umm... Do you remember Lisa? Rey? Amanda? Logan?" Joey wasnt sure if bring up more names would complicate things, or clear things up, but it was worth a try anyways. If Raine had forgotten all about him, then the question would be if she remembered the other. We were all close to eachother, and helped one another survive. Everyone played a part in the story, he just pictured Raine and himself to be the starring roles. And Jonathan was the antagonist. "...And do you remember ever staying in the Arklay Mountains?"

Raine followed Joey and listened to what he had to say as she also kept her eyes opened for signs of trouble. As he spoke to her, she could tell he was holding back anger but she couldn't understand why...so she asked him. ''No... Finish what you were saying... Why can't i just what?''
Raine knew he would answer that question, so she decided to answer his first. ''Yes i do remember Lisa, Logan, Amanda and Rey. I also remember staying in the mountains, but those details are foggy.'' This was all true, she did remember everyone. Joey was the only person she could barely remember. She was starting to remember things as he told her, but as far as her love for him.... that memory will come back in time.

"No no, not you..." Joey was getting enraged just even thinking of Jonathans name, after all the theyve been though, everything that happened because of that man. As much as he wouldve loved to just give Raine back all her memories, he could only give what she was willing to take. Just dumping everything onto her all at once would be a bad idea, and it would only lead to more and more questions at this stage. Whatever happened to her, it definitly wasnt by accedent. Someone wanted to make sure Joey was gone from her memory, and he was willing to bet his own limb that with was Jonathan. Hes like a virus, he keeps coming back and gets worse and worse everytime.
"...Jonathan..." Joey wouldve loved to get an answer, but in that moment, the sound of a woman screaming caugh his attention. Moving his head in a following gesture towards Raine, he ran toward the root of the sound. After getting to one of the nearby houses and kicking down the front door, he entered with his handgun pointed forward, listening for more noise. Loud shuffles came from the floor over them, as Joey quickly moved uptairs and into a bedroom. But then everything went dead quite except for the faint sound of flesh being ripped from a body. This sound was easily distinguished, or at least to anyone who had been around long enough to get used to the sound.
With his gun still trained forward, Joey strafed around the bed, and faced the floor to see an infected crouch over a young female. The infected lifted itself up onto its knees, and turned its head around to focus attention toward its new targer. But before it could even catch a glimpse, Joey kicked the body onto of the woman, and then fired a single round into the zombies head, knocking it back onto the floor motionless. He shook his head and guilted himself from the fact that he was too late, but what more could he do. If Raine hadnt noticed by now, he was always ready to to save someone elses life at the risk of his own. But thats always what he lived for. There was never a real explaination, it just made him feel better doing things for others.
Joey sat down on the bed, quickly shaking the event out of his mind. He was at least glad that Raine still remembered her friends, four years can go by pretty fast. Living out in the forest, there wasnt the luxury of spending time with friends everyday. There was always work to be done, and taking time off set him back. But it was the few days he got to spend with everyone that he kept on his mind. After living through the previous outbreak, they all seemed like family, especially when they were all together. Joey was getting deep in thought, and almost forget where he was. Reminding himself what he wanted to ask, he turned to Raine, and spoke curiously. "How well do you know Jonathan? Is he a friend of yours?"
