Raine was about to answer his questions when her phone rang. Joey must have grabbed it before they left her house because he answered it. There was a look of worry on his face and Raine could hear gunshots through the ear piece, followed by a man screaming into the phone about 5 minutes later.
After Joey passed Raine the phone, she spoke to Logan for a few minutes and hung up. ''Come on... we have to go to the hospital.'' Raine and Joey left the house and made their way down the street to the hospital.

Bill Trontoske came out of his house to see if everything was ok after he heard the screams, but as he walked out to the street with his glock 23 in its holster he didn't see anyone in sight, just the houses he usually saw with their lights on. Thinking it was just his imagination, again, he started walking back into his house when he, all of a sudden, heard screams in the house two doors down.
He bolted down the street drawing his glock out of its holster, he ran up the steps two at a time and knocked on the door, "Police! Is everything ok?" He waited to hear a response, but nothing came so he repeated himself, "Police! Is everything all right in there?" Still no response so he walked around to the back door holding his glock in steady hands. He reached the back door and saw that it was slightly ajar, so he nudged it open with his leading left foot. The house was dark except for a lamp light and the slight light of what was probably a television set in the living room, which was off to the right through the kitchen. The house belonged to Stacey Jenkins, who was an Attorney. The house was big and fancy. He slowly peeked his head in, "Police! is anybody here?" He heard a shuffling noise down the hall in the living room, so he slowly made his way down the hall.
He got into the living room and nothing really seemed to be wrong, or out of place, except for a few scattered papers in front of the large couch. Than he heard another noise that he could not quite distinguish, but it kind of sounded like a dog worrying a bone. He than said in a commanding voice, "Who's over there?" The noises stopped, he raised his gun pointing it slightly in the direction of the couch. A man, around the same height as him, stood up into view, than turned around and his, hands, face, and shirt were covered in gore. Bill new that he had to be a cop so did so, "Put your hands up, and get out from behind the couch, leaving your hands where I can see them!" The man did not put his hands up, but he was coming out from behind the couch. What the hell is he doing? Bill thought to himself so, he repeated himself, "Put your hands up!" The man continued his path around the couch, so Bill backed up a step giving himself a little room to manuver. The man kept coming so Bill got ready to apprehend him when he got close but, instead, he lunged at Bill and grabbed him with an unexpected strength, Oh hell! This man was strong, but had no balance, so Bill easily swept the mans legs out from underneath him. Bill stumbled back, but retained his balance and pointed his gun at the man, "What the hell are you doin? Stay down or I will shoot!" The man did not listen he got up and continued towards Bill who was now standing in the kitchen. The man got within distance again and lunged at Bill, Bill side stepped quickly, and when he heard the snaping sound of someone trying to bite he elbowed the man with a crushing blow that should have knocked him out, but he got up and kept coming, so Bill gave his last warning that he will shoot if he does not stop, the man lunged again and Bill unloaded a .40 cal bullet into the mans head, dropping him where he stood.
After he shot the man, Bill found the light switch and flipped it on in the kitchen. He walked over to the corpse and rolled him over, what he saw frightened him. Bill rolled the man over and saw the bullet whole placed neatley over his right brow. He proceeded to check the man for ID, but when the mans button up shirt open and exposed half his ribcage he stoop up disgusted and unusally rattled. Seeing the phone he went to call the police station for assistance, but nothing, just his ragged breathing, so he went outside and started heading back to his house. He saw a group of three walking across the street, so he went to see if they had a phone or something Gotta have a cell, everyone does these days. "Hey, any of you have a cell phone, I'm a cop, I need to make a call." The three turned toward him and started walking, more like shambling, toward him. "Is everything ok?" One moaned in response, so, without hesitation, he raised his gun, but they didn't seem to care. What's going on in this place He backed up commanding that they do not move another step but, they didn't seem to hear, just like the last guy. The closest one tried grabbing Bill so he shot the man in the chest, but the man and girl following kept coming, Who would keep coming at me after I got a round off? He backed up and the man he just shot was getting up, "No way," he whispered to himself "they can't be, that stuff in the movies is fake."
He knew not to doubt his gut instinct, so he shot the two in the head, and the one getting up, just like in the movies, and they didn't move after that. He heard moans around the corner, but before they came into view he bolted into his house, locked the door and turned off all the lights. Bill grabbed his vest, his duffle bag, which already had some equipment in it, filled it with ammo, grapped his M16, and strapped on his holsters. He knew he was going to need this stuff.

The four of them fought their way through the streets, finally making their way to the old house which they had kept coming back to. While in the middle of shooting an infected getting a little too close for comfort, Joeys cell phone had rung. This startled him, to be honest, who could be calling him in the middle of an outbreak? Picking it up, he spoke out a hello, before getting a female voice on the other end. "Amanda? Never thought id hear your voice again, are you with Rey?" Shooting another two rounds at the infected, he dropped it down to the ground, and then looked at Raine, Logan, and Lisa. This was a very awkward phonecall, but by the tone of her voice, it seemed she was somewhat distressed.
"Rey is hurt? Sh*t, I dont think..." The hospital was on the other side of town, this would mean a change of plans for all of them. But, Joey had faith in Amanda, and trusted her with Reys life. She was like a sister to her, nothing could change that. If anyone could help, it would be her. He didnt make a very good father anyways, it was better if he didnt show his face to her at this time. "Listen, you take her inside the hospital, and get her situated. Your with another survivor? She can help you, but you need to get her inside and off the streets. I trust you, Amanda. I have to go, sorry!" Before Joey could hang up, Raine had fired off a round at the infected who was nearly grabbing onto him from behind. Looking at the woman, she knew that her intentions were good.
But as Joey hung up the phone, Logan surprisingly spoke up. "Ill go check up on her for you, Joey... Lis, you stay with Raine and this c*cksmoker. Ill call you back when I get there, alright?" For whatever reason, Logan ran off. Maybe it was something he felt he had to do, maybe it was to get away from the past on this street, neither of the three could tell. But taking action like that was bold for Logan, maybe he was trying to redeem himself, whatever is working in his mind. "...Lisa, its okay, he can handle himself." It wasnt that which was on Joeys mind at the moment, this was the least of his worries.

Raine watched as Logan walked away and closed her eyes for a few minutes. Logan didn't seem like the kind of guy to just leave people like this, but maybe he actually had a reason this time. She looked down the street to where Jonathan's newly renovated house now stood. It was busted up about 5 years ago and fixed up just as fast by his men. How they managed to do all that work with zombies around was something she would have loved to see. Raine recalled the numerous times she and Jonathan engaged in their fights, Raine referred to them as battles. Raine has been beaten, shot, stabbed and died once. Jonathan rushed her to the hospital just in time and when he left for a few minutes, she was injected with a virus that brought her back to living status so Jonathan could inject her with another virus so she wouldn't mutate into a monster.
Raine isn't quite sure how everything happened.. all she knows is because of him, she's faster and stronger than everyone in her small group of friends. Except him. He made sure that she could never beat him...He always came out on top. Shaking her head quickly, she blocked all continuing thoughts from her mind and looked at Lisa, who seemed to be in her own world.
Lisa's eyes darted to all the windows on the house. She remembered growing up in this house and getting married here. Her married life wasn't a happy one though as her husband was verbally and physically abusive toward her. He wasn't always that way, it all started when he met Jake. Jake was heavily into drugs and believed he could do anything with the right people following behind him. He met up with Anthony and turned him against Lisa insisting she was out to get them since she was a cop. Lisa endured endless fights and lost sleep due to this man and she didn't want to relive it again. When she met Samuel, she kept her emotions locked up because she was afraid to get involved again. When she realized Sam would never hurt her and she started falling for him, he disappeared. Lisa isn't afraid of anything out here in the city...except Anthony. And she knows he will be back for her since he had escaped from prison 10 years ago.. He will find her, and she only hopes Logan will be at her side when he does.
Raine grabbed Lisa's arm and nudged her toward the house. She could hear the moans of the undead drawing closer and they needed to get inside. Raine looked at Joey with piercing eyes as if to tell him to get inside while she checked around outside. He seemed to stall for a moment but didn't want to stand around to see what could happen if he didn't move, so he followed Lisa inside. Raine stood in the shadows by the trees and kept an eye out for trouble.

[shadow=red,left,300]"Dammit, Logan! You take the backside, well cover the front!" It was intresting how quickly his mind reacted, and no matter what the action, he always made it his duty to be fully alert and prepared to do whatever it took. After Logan had the room covered, Joey ran into the house, and took aimt at the front driveway. With his .45 drawn, he aimed it outside toward the oncoming hoard of zombies. But doorway was the only area to see how close the infected were and still keep shooting. The second they burst through the window, he open fired his remaining shots on the magazine as they fell inside. Hearing the horrific click of and empty chamber, Joey booted back two zombies from climbing inside before moving back. Pressing himself against the wall, he quickly reloaded his handgun, but he only feared the remaining magazine wouldnt be enough.
The infected seemed to let up before anything got worse. He swore there was more of them, this seemed a little too easy. After looking through the broken window, Joey checked the front, and found the place clear. Logan grabbed some broken boards, using them to make barricades along the entrances, the best he could do with furniture. Joey assisted him along, making sure to board up the rest of the place as well, also assuring that Raine and Lisa was safe in the living room.[/shadow]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The images in his head passed back and fourth, it all seemed so real, like it was happening all over again. Almost as if it was just yesterday, thats what it felt like. Joey remembered the day clearly, they were a group than, and they were a group now. This kind of teamwork given him a sense of hope, but alone that wasnt enough to make it through now. At any given moment, Joey expected Raine to grab him and choke him, snap his neck in a few seconds. This sort of paranoia wasnt something he had normally, it was just the anxiety of the situation that put him in the scene. Every now and then, she would give him a look from outside, with those eyes that he couldnt tell what she was thinking anymore. Finally after a good ten minutes, he broke the silence. "Kinda takes you, doesnt it?" Joey spoke in a chilling tone to Lisa, whom he knew wasnt paying much attention.
At that time, Joey walked around the house some more, but his attention was caught outside when Raine couldnt be in direct sight. He was getting a little nervous that she might just leave, or that she had other plans, but he insisted himself on going outside anyways. Opening up the door, Joey put his hand on his gun, making sure he was in good reach for it if he ran into any infected that tried to get a jump on him. The night sky was very dark, and clouds covered most of the moonlight from shining down. But there he say Raine, standing under a tree, looking far down the street. Joey walked up to her, and put his hands in the pockets of his white hoody, warming them up from the cool night. He wanted to say something, but nothing was coming to mind. So, Joey spoke the first thing he could think of, after a long pause. "Maybe wed all be better off if I wasnt around..."
Raine heard Joey come out of the house before he even spoke to her. She continued to look at nothing in the darkness. ''Sometimes the company is nice...'' She didn't look at him as she spoke but she didn't have to, he walked in front of her until he was staring into her eyes. She looked back at him but it seemed like she was looking right through him. In a sense she was, but in reality she was watching the female zombie staggering behind him. With the wind blowing and the distant moaning of the other infected around, Joey didn't seem to hear her moving closer.
As the wind blew a little more it started to rain, cooling off the heat from earlier. Raine stared at Joey as he began to speak again, but before he could actually say anything, the zombie that was behind him was now closer and wrapping her arms around the front of him. Joey pushed her off once and she grabbed him again with more force this time, knocking his gun down to the ground. While Joey struggled to get free, Raine picked up his gun and placed it in her waist band with her own. She watched with an eyebrow raised as Joey looked to her for help, showing no emotion toward him what so ever. He was doing a good job keeping her teeth away from him, for now... but he would get tired eventually.
The night sky was very misty, proved true when it started to rain. The pattering of droplets on the grass batted out all quiet tones of noise from the air, even his breathing was being shunned. Listening to Raines words, it was almost as if she actually cared about him, even if it was for a fraction of a heartbeat. Joey stared at her in the eyes, almost as if he was searching for answers to all of the questions that ran through his mind right now. Why was she letting herself be controlled like this, and not fighting back? Would Raine ever resurface? At this time, Joey just wanted things to go back to the way they used to be, when things were better, a time when nothing seemed to matter. Finally, he found the words to say, and began to open his mouth.
But the infected that had been coming toward him silently had grabbed hold on his neck from behind. Joey felt his breathing coming to an absolute halt, driving his hand both for his gun, and trying to push the infected back as well. Until his gun had fallen away from his grasp, he tried to hold back the woman from biting down. Joey watched as Raine bent down to pick up his gun, and holstered it at her side, she was watching the scene unfold like some kind of entertainment. At that time, his attention had been away from the infected, and Joey was tackled to the ground face down into a muddy patch. Managing himself onto his back, the infected scrambled on top of him now, still gripping his neck, and trying to get a bite down while being kept at bay by Joeys hands on her face.
Everything seemed to slow down around him now, Joey was at a struggle with both infected woman physically, and his emotions mentally. He had been through so much during his time of the outbreak, and the one prior since 1998. But even he couldnt get the strength to break free of the infected, she was much too healthy, unlike the other rotting corpses hed dealt with. Hell, maybe Raine even say this woman get bitten and turn while Joey was inside, he would never know for certain. All he could do was struggle to keep her away, waiting until Raine either decided to get a kick out of watching him die, or come to her senses and help him. "Come on, Raine! Snap out of it! Dont let anyone control you but yourself...!"
Raine stared at Joey as he begged for her to come to her senses. Part of her wanted so much to enjoy him being ripped apart by this woman, but another part couldn't let it happen. She needed to make a decision fast because Joey could only hold her off for so long. She looked up in the sky as she reached for the gun she had holstered in the back of her pants, looking back at him moments later with evil in her eyes.
She pointed the gun directly at Joey's head intending to end his suffering. She couldn't bear to see him as one of the undead coming after her. Raine closed her eyes as she pulled the trigger, hearing the bullet pierce into the flesh of a body. Raine opened her eyes just in time to see the zombie fall to the ground and Joey breathe a sigh of relief as she tossed his gun back to him. ''Never say i didn't do anything nice for you.'' She said to him fighting back a few tears as she collapsed to the ground shaking uncontrollably.
Hearing the gunshot, Joey felt his muscles stop to tense, and he was able to throw the infected to the ground. It had been shot in the head, blood specking onto his face. It was unexpected. For once in his life, Joey though he was going to finally give up fighting the good fight, and just let his time here living end. She spared his life, Raine did it for a reason that maybe he couldnt understand unless he was in her position. But in the aftermath of the situation, he held onto the handgun, and wiped the infected blood from his face using his sleeve. Raine collapsed onto the ground, it was obvious she was under a lot of stress. However, they could stay here out in the open, not after that gunshot. The infected would soon be onto their location. "Raine, forget it, lets just get back inside before we attract anymore attention!"
This wasnt the first time Joey had been in a dangerous situation with Raine, and he was the victim either way. Her sheer power alone made things impossible for him to control, all Joey could do was convince her that everything was fine. But this wasnt about theyre relationship, this was about survival. Lisa was inside the house, and probably wondering what the hell was going on out. Logan was still gone, who knew when he would come back. It was late a night, and the rain was increasingly sharp to the touch. A crack of lighting caught Joey offguard, as he looked to see the tree smoke and sizzle. Then there was a group of infected no far off on the street, coming their way. "Come on, im not leaving without you!" Joey lift Raine up from the ground, seeing as she wouldnt move on her own, and ran for the front door
[Alex and Johnathan have entered from the Uptown Street System]
Alex had never been in this part of town before. She had always avoided the locales that looked a little too clean for a zombie apocalypse; something pristine creepy about them. There were little signs of struggle outside of each of the two story homes; some front entrances remained wide open with a quick change of contrast in the lighting, as if secrets were held within. Now and again you might see a silhouette against the orange glow of the night shuffling off around a corner.
Her 417 was no longer flush with her back, Alex had brought it in front of herself a while ago before entering the suburb; left arm resting on the stock, right hand resting on the pistol grip. Bit of an odd place to detain someone; whoever Mr. Black wanted to bag and tag was clearly playing the mouse over cat, going into deep hiding. The casually waltzing in part was also really bizarre to the girl; the tench coat must have had hard Intel to be so relaxed while approaching his target.
Stifling a yawn. The sky had grown several shades of pink with dawn a couple of hours away; Alex had planned on hitting the sack before the third chopper had landed, having been awake for well over 24 hours. Now she would need to go through another day again just to keep her body clock intact. If she could catch this ride out then she needn't worry about it being a problem anymore. For now, put up with the wobble in her aim; the PI kept reminding herself that it would be alright.
Jonathan scanned the area once he and Alex were a few yards down the street. He stopped and had a slow look around, taking note of the state of things as well as the lack of people, though he knew that the ones he was seeking were there - it wasn't just a hunch, he had already made certain of it through the use of the various methods of intell that was made available to him.
He then started moving forward again and stopped once he was within viewing distance of his old home. It was natural that they would be there - everything that had happened so far that had led them to the house had done so according to his own final plan...it always did. He looked over to Alex, "They are in that house down there. This is where you come in."
He then turned his whole body to look at her, "The man is who we are after. The woman shouldn't be of any trouble if everything stays as I have planned it. Once he is in my possession, we will return to the helicopter and, as I promised, I will give you a ride." He then turned to look at the house again and smirked knowing that it wouldn't be long and a thorn in his side would be gone forever.
With the woman on the couch inside the home, Joey sat down on the floor against the wall, his 9mm resting in his hand. He was still breathing fairly heavy, most of which because he was running up and down from the basement gathering boards to barricade the windows. They were prone to the infected clawing at them, the door, not so much. Keeping the large shelving unit against it was enough to keep them out. All the food in the house had been expired now, and the canned goods have been looted. Everything was gone, everything. Joey wasnt sure why Raine wasnt answering, she was just laying on the couch motionless, but a pulse assured him she was still alive. Ejecting the magazine from his pistol, he counted eight rounds, there was no more after them...
"Just hang on, I got this, I got this!" The infected surrounded from the street, stragglers came from behind the house. The gunshots drew all of their attention, but in the heat of the moment, there was no other choice but to keep shooting. Holding the gun in a sturdy pose, Joey fired three rounds in the span of five seconds, bring down a few more of them that were getting closer. Flipping his aim one-eighty, he quickly fired another few rounds to take out another four walkers. Two more getting closer from the street, but the gun went click, he was out of ammunition. Sliding the magazine out, he dropped it into his vest pocket, and drove his last one into the 9mm. But they were going to stop coming, he had to make a run for it. Lifting up Raine over his shoulder, Joey held onto her with one arm around her legs, and the gun in his other hand, walking towards the house and firing off single shots at the infected that got into point blank range.
Kicking the door closed, Joey lay Raine down on the couch in the living room, and then ran at the door. Keeping his back pinned on it, he quickly looked around the room to see if he could pull anything anything against it. A large shelf not far to the side would make a good barrier. Jumping off from the door, he pushed it over sideways, and then jammed it under the knob. With out, he made a dash for the basement, he knew there was some lumber down there from the repairs on the house after the first outbreak. Hauling two handfuls of boards up the steps, he went back for the a drill and screws. But upon hitting the living room again, the lock on the door had given out, and one of the windows had smashed open.
Dropping everything to the ground, Joey cursed out loudly, and then rammed against the shelf, pushing it tightly up against the door frame now. Seeing one of the infected climbing through the window the right of him, he aimed the gun up with one hand, and blew its brains out. Kicking another one back, he fired another four rounds of ammunition, to at least take them to the ground while so he could board up the window. Hold a thick slab of wood up against the windowsill, Joey quickly screwed in a number of screws, and then repeated it for the rest of the window. The door seemed to be holding out quite alright, but that couldnt be said for the rest of building.
While he was boarding up the window in the kitchen, the other two windows had smashed open. Hurrying up with the current barricade, Joey grabbed a board, and then ran into the hallway to find three infected inside. Backing up with slight fear in him, he then grit his teeth and jammed the plank of wood forward. The impact was enough to knock the walkers down, and he took the opportunity to run past them and get the windows shut. While going back for more wood, they started get back on their feet, but he aimed up the gun and ended their attempt. Hauling another six planks around, he checked to make sure everything was good and secure before coming to a stop. Joey removed his black large hoody, and lay it on Raine, keeping the cold night away from her at least.
The sounds of the undead were gone now, they mustve given up on their meal, or found somewhere else to feed. Standing up from against the wall, Joey went to the stairs, and then walked slowly and quietly to the top. Moving into the nearest room, he glanced out the window to see the streets clear, no infected nearby that he could see. Without the power on in the building, the heat was off, and with the winter starting to hit the city, the house was pretty cold. Making his back back down the steps, Joey walked back into the living room, and looked over Raine. "This is the first time ive been in the city without constantly being on the move. Its easy to forget that its not safe, no matter how well prepared we were. On that note, I wasnt much prepared at all..." Joey spoke out to Raine, not sure if she was listening or not.
-Meanwhile, back outside- "Oh - kay?" Alex squinted one eye, "What am I actually doing. Is it just the two targets?" she still took slow, short steps towards the home, "Does the female need to be neutralized?" he said this was where she came in, but unless he wanted her to be 100% ad-lib about it some directions of entry would need to be made. Otherwise Alex was prepared to just go with the top down approach, hook-shot up to the second floor and make an entrance from there. In truth Alex was rather taken aback from the fact a woman was among the target. If Mr. Black had to go as far as to plan what was about to happen next then the two people in the house were likely serious trouble. At the same time, curiosity enveloped the PI at what she might encounter inside. She came to terms with herself though; she wasn't going to hurt the woman, no matter what the trench coat man asked her to do.
"No," Jonathan replied, "the man is the only target. The woman is to be left alone, if she needs to be neutralized, I will do so." Jonathan continued looking at the house for a moment, trying to plan a strategy how to best take them by surprise as it was his and Alex's best chance of getting Joey without much of a physical fight breaking out.
"You say that you are a private investigator, then you will know how to get into the building without anyone inside knowing that you are doing so." Jonathan wanted to see how good this girl was at what she did. He was always on the lookout for better security, or even an assistant. Either way, nothing came from Jonthan without it being earned - even a helicopter ride.
"You're best way to get in would be scaling the tree in the back yard. Once halfway up that tree, you can easily get onto the balcony of my bedroom. Here's the key to the door," Jonathan slipped his hand into his trench coat pocket and pulled out a silver key, "Once I see that you are inside, I will come through the front to distract the man within. With him distracted, stick this into his neck," Jonathan then took out a small syringe filled with a clear liquid. After having put up with Joey in the past, he didn't want to take a chance on him escaping before arriving at the castle in England. In order to do that, he needed to be out like a light.
"It's a mild sedative that will put him out," Jonathan stated with a smirk, "It's not instant, however, and we may have to put up with a slight struggle, but it won't be a problem. Don't screw up and you will have earned your ride...and possibly money if you so desire...even more if you are interested, though we will talk about that en route." Everything was planned out. Even if the plan didn't work, Jonathan always had a plan B, though it was more physical; the result would still be the same.
Holding out her hand to take the key; Alex couldn't hide that she was perplexed about the house the target was squatting in were Mr. Blacks own abode. She had a smiled on her face as she walked away, shaking her head at how weird the situation was becoming; it had come to the point where Alex didn't want to know some things.
Bullwhip out. The dead space between the house and the perimetre fence was pleasantly devoid of obstacles. Alex stood in the darkness underneath the cropped oak tree, now a little outgrown from the lack of council keep; she looked at the syringe in her hand, turning it over once. If it took time then it would just seem to make more sense to clobber the guy over the head. Alex shrugged, "Do as the man asks," she told herself while slipping the needle into a back pouch.
One sharp snap and the tail of the whip wrapped around a mid branch, pulling with her arms and pushing with her feet to climb. Alex would have preferred to use her hook-shot, but considering where Mr. Black had asked her to enter there wasn't really any valid location to utilize it. Originally the PI had figured some roof hopping wouldn't hurt, but if all of this was as 'Planned' as the enigma put it then breaking that plan could cause some severe consequences.
Sitting over the branch and untying her whip; Alex watched each of the second story windows. She froze as a figure passed a window, the outline of a man moving into one of the bedrooms. She leaped the distance between the tree and the balcony before giving the stranger a chance to check outside any of the windows looking into the back yard.
Gently the key went into its lock and granted the PI passage into Mr. Blacks private space. Alex was worried at what she was going to find and, by surprise, didn't find a hell of a lot; just an average bedroom inside an average American household. She unsheathed her tanto combat blade spinning it with her fingers on the approach to the door leading out, opening it ajar.
Watching as the figure from earlier went back downstairs; Alex kept an ear out for his return. She could hear him talking to someone, unsure who, and couldn't really make out the dialogue. They seemed like words of uncertainty.
Whatever. The man was preoccupied. That meant she moved. Heading for a second floor room at the front of the house, making sure doors were kept closed after using them. Alex pulled out her cellphone once closed up in some sort of study, holding the display up to the window between parted curtains to signal she was inside. It was obvious the man would have seen it, now to get ready for the injection.
Looking around herself, "With weather like this..." patting down her pouches for the thermal visor she had picked up on her last assignment. The reading through wood and insulation was faint, but Alex could just make out two people on the floor directly below her; one had a slightly lesser heat signature than the other. Orange pulsated with each heartbeat from both of them amongst a blue void of the low temperature spectrum.
Alex pressed the tip of her blade into the carpet floor, giving it a hard push so that it stuck in solid. Producing two cubes of substance from a separate pouch and placing them half a metre from the knife at the left and right of herself. She readied her right hand on the handle of the blade while cradling the syringe in her left, watching stoic and prepared at the orange figures on her visor.
