Edward saw the scene unfold infront of him, but he knew that everyone was just on edge because of the current status in Raccoon City. He did back away from the man before he lowered his gun, and as Yuuka spoke about some cat, he looked down to see the feline fleeing behind the counter. Once the girl, Lina, explained herself and her name, Edward looked at the other man, knowing there was at least someone else alive who had a look like they knew what they were doing.
"Edward... Lina, your arm looks terrible. How long ago was this?" He hadnt seen another animal infect a human before, even during his time of the 1998 outbreak 14 year ago. But judging by Yuukas reaction, the animal didnt seem very hostile. Maybe it was in an earlier stage, in that case, it wouldnt have been infected long enough to infect a human through a bite. Edward knew through reading material and some firsthand expirences that the infection was spread through the blood, and that it wasnt just some flu. But regardless of what he learned, he kept a distance from Lina, being paranoid was being safe.
Taking another look at the taller man, Edward put his 9mm away, and began to wander around the large gunshop. Most of the stuff here had already been raided out by previous survivors, but he expected to find at least some extra ammunition if he looked long enough. But before getting too situated, Edward heard some moaning coming from outside, and returned to the entrance door to ensure it was tightly locked. The windows were barred off, making him feel even more secure. But getting too comfourtable was always a bad idea, he knew this well enough to took him alive. "...We should take whatever we can find and go, I dont like the looks of this place..."
It was the darkened streets and the eerie noises that gave Edward the chills up and down his spine, but the light snowfall felt cold to the touch of the air around them. Winter was always the hardest conditions for survival in this state the world was in, but at least it made those infected slower.

OOC: A tad bit irked that you assumed Claypoole would back down at such a trivial reassurances but... rolling with it.
Claypoole hesitated as the women spoke out, and he mulled over his options. He knew the fatal funnel made this position perfect for holding off these two if they decided to go hostile on him, but that was if they insisted on running inside rather then firing through the windows or tossing a frag in or something. He mulled over his options, and finally realized he'd be in a d**n good position still if he left them come inside, and stayed behind the shelves and such which could be used as light cover and barricades incase they tried to rush him. He was the one with a high capacity semi automatic shotgun. He'd be the one with the advantage within a rooms distance. Claypoole slowly stood up and edged away as the two people slowly made their way in assuming that he wouldn't shoot, and took up another position semi-behind the shelves yet where he could see around them at the two people now clustering around the girl behind the counter who called herself Lina. His shotgun was still aimed in the two's directions, but right now aimed between the two down near the floor beside them. In a heartbeat he could snap the shotgun up and shoot the first one in the upper torso, and snap to the next one or crouch before the 2nd one could react in case they tried something funny. Since his short model of the 1216 was suppressed he wouldn't need to worry about his shotgun getting more infecteds attentions.
He calmly but alertly glanced between the 3 other people with him in the shop, and continued to mull things over and analyze the situation for possible complications and threats. His contract was complicated enough without worrying about assertive survivors who may try and stab him in the back and loot him for all his gear and what ever money he may have on him.
More survivors have shot at me then zombies I've had to kill. I don't know how long ago it is, but hopefully it didn't break skin, or else there's gonna be some issues. (He remembers the fight at the radio station, Russia, Japan, all his times in Raccoon city, stoneville, etc.), and combined more people have shot or fight with him then zombies hes killed. Claypoole looked between Edward and Lina quickly, before he cleared his throat and spoke
Make sure to check and see whether the bite broke skin, Edward. She might be lucky... not sure whether the cats infected. I didn't get a chance to check, I just got here.
As for anything we find here. What little buckshot ammunition that may be here's mine. I don't think we've estabilished a... Rapport here yet. Don't take it the wrong way, but I don't think we're near the "Moving in with each other" and "Whats mine is yours" stage. Sorry if you think I'm being paranoid but I've been shot at by more survivors then zombies I've shot, and I've been dealing with this... crap for almost a decade by now.
As he was speaking he maintained a neutral professional but aggressive tone through it all, and stayed focused on the matters at hand. Right now he considered himself still doing a lone-wolf op, and so the "Squad clown" in him was still deeply locked away inside him. Claypoole had convinction in his voice when he said he was sure more survivors had shot at him then zombies he'd taken down. Iraq, Israel, Russia, Raccoon city multiple times, Stoneville, Raccoon cities Radio station, Japan... Humans were humans, even in an outbreak. And he remained dead set on getting what little shotgun if any they found here, especially considering he just spend a few shotgun slugs and 9x19 rounds saving that survivor, and HE was the one here who was hunting down a d**n T-103 solo. Even a Black Umbrella UBCS deserter who was banking his PMC career nowadays on his Anti-BOW qualifications realized how tough that was... he'd packed mini-mores (Mini-claymores) and plenty of explosives for the op, too.
The girl might get lucky that he was out here doing all that right now too considering part of his UBCS training was stabilizing wounds like that. T-virus was the easy stuff nowadays; he wasn't a lab geek able tto handle new stuff, but the simple anti-viral pills he had could slow down the T-virus, not to mention the UBCS trained its men as of 2008 to brew shots in the field to slow down the T-virus even more effectively. Even if that wasn't enough, there was a small chance following through on his op could end up with them finding Anti-viruses in the zoo.

Honestly Yuuka had know idea what was going on. First the girl who called herself Lina, says that the adorable cat bit her and it's infected. Then the man who pointed a gun at her says that he doesn't know if it is. Who could infect a little cat anyways? They should be caring about the poor innocent felines who were bitten by infected people than people. But people cared more about themselves than others, so saying that aloud would get Yuuka killed.
"I have a first aid kit in my backpack if that helps." Yuuka says, as she pulled the backpack off her shoulders and stuffed the nunchaku in, taking out the small grey box with a cross on it. As she pushed the lock open. Inside revealed a few packages of band-aids, some aspirin pills, a few rolls of bandages, a small bottle of alcohol, some Q-tips, a pair of medicine gloves, other medicines, and a first aid spray.
'Thankfully I'm equipped.' Yuuka thought, not saying it aloud. But the grin on her face was practically screaming, 'Ha Beat That!'.

OOC: Kaira I <3 your character " Thank you" Lina took the first aid box from Yuuka and smiled, " So.. are we a team now or what? " Lina said shyly. "I can't survive on my own.. you see I may not be good with a gun but I learnt alot about stealth and i'm fast" " I won't slow you down if I come with you.. " Lina looked at Edward as he gazed down at the floor in thought. Lina wrapped up her leg with a bandage and covered it in some alchohol. It stung, Lina knew this ment she most likely was not infected as she could feel her leg. " One good deed deserves another" Lina looked into her bag for something usefull when she remembered those sweets she recieved from her friend. " Take these" Lina smiled and had some mints in her hand. " They're mint! Don't look so shocked"

Edward watched as Lina and Yuuka had quickly made friends. This was a first to see during a globalized mass infection, but at least he knew they could be trusted as of now. As for the other man, who obviously seemed well suited for the scenario, and had that 'heres the guy that can get things done' vibe. Listening to his words made him remember that things in the world would have to be reset, back to before some advances were created. The art of trade had to be reinvented, money couldnt buy anything at all at a time like this.
Edward understood the man well, but the one thing that bothered him was he didnt even know himself. The crash in the chopper had left him without memory of most events prior to waking up, his name was only known by a signiture written in a notebook that was in a bag at the crash location. He wasnt even sure if that actually was his name, but it really wasnt important. What was important is he needed to find out exactly what happened to his city, everything was so peaceful up until a few months ago. Finding out who he was could wait, be his goal was made only to clear.
"Yeah, I agree. You take the ammunition you need, and ill take the ammunition I need..." Searching through broken shelves and cluttered desks, Edward managed to round up at least another three boxes of 9mm rounds. Finding a line of empty magazines, he tested them out to see if them fit in his gun. Lucky for him, they did, and Edward began to fill them up with the bullets from the boxes. After this was done, he put the rest in his pouch, seeing a crate from the corner of his eye. Lifting it up onto the counter, he opened the top, seeing two packs of buckshots. "This belongs to you..." Edward slid the case over toward the man standing at the other side of the counter.

Claypoole watched as the others interacted, but stayed towards his spot in the defensible corner where he could have an eye on most of the proceedings and still be able to glance over at the front door. When one of the girls pulled out a first aid kit, he mulled over how useful it may be, before he said still detachedly and neutral-professional
Equipped for the best scenario, maybe. If thats a run of the mill first aid kit, I don't know how much it'll help. Should slow it down, but in the end... Even the Ebola virus is tough to cure, and the T-virus is an improved version of it. Slowing it down is easy. Curing it requires something dedicated... anti-virus is expensive too. Makes ya wish you were dealing with just a guy with a gun.
Claypoole smirked a little behind his bandanna at that. These people might not agree with that, but at least with a bullet if you got hit in the arm you'd live. With this stuff... if your skin is pierced with even a mm wide hole you risk a fate worse then death in 7 days. Hence why he was covered head to toe to prevent infected blood from getting on him and to make biting or scratching his skin as hard as possible.
Claypoole glanced back at the group when Edward addressed him. He nodded as he felt they'd come to an agreement, and said a tad quieter then his previous tone
I'll watch the door.
Claypoole didn't turn his back on the group, but he turned away enough that his attention was split between them, watching the door, and checking the shelves and boxes in the front room for ammunition. Mostly just .22 ammo, some birdshot 20 gauge, etc... mostly stuff that you typicallywouldn't consider your weapon of choice when your life depended on it. Probably why it was still left here even though in an admittedly small quantity. After several minutes of searching, Edward came up towards him again and offered him the buckshot ammunition Claypoole had come looking for. Claypoole nodded at him and took the box of shotgun shells slowly, saying in his still neutral tone politely
Thank you. So. Where are you civvies heading now? Theres not much in Raccoon city these days to be running around after. Only people who have business out here's the Military, PMCs, and the devil.
I imagine I don't need to spell out which of those three's corporate businessmen.
Claypoole set down his shotgun on a nearby display counter and started to pop out the ammunition cylinders that he'd used buckshot from and started to reload them, still keeping his peripheral vision on the people near him. Claypoole wouldn't really say hes funnier when hes not professional; his jokes were normally dry when you look at the big picture of how many jokes he usually tells and how many of them are actually funny. Still. It was in the nature of a clown to not care whether his nature was funny or not, just that his nature was his nature, and he'd continue being himself.

[Thank you! Yours is so cute ]] "Oh thank you!" After taking the mint, Yuuka savored the taste. She hasn't eaten mints in a while. The mint was enough to savour her taste. She tucked the first aid kit away and ignored the comments made by the other guy. What kind of guy would say that? The infected are slow people. And as long as you were good and fighting and running, plus armed, you were practically okay! Edward was being nice. That kinda annoyed her because the other guy was ****ing her off. ****ing her off! She turned to face Lina once the first aid kit was secured into it's place in her backpack. She got her handgun out and smiled. "We'd love to have you on our team! The more the merrier!" She said, her grin widening. She clapped her hands, her left palm clashing with the gun in her right hand. "I'll go look for Ammo too." She said, getting up, then zipped her backpack and swung it back on her shoulders, wearing it now.

Lina smiled at Yuuka and turned round and started sciving for ammo. " Look at this" Lina picked up a small metal box and opened it. Inside there was a key that said backup draw " You think this is for that" Lina said pointing at the draw, Yuuka nodded and Lina opened the draw, this is just what they needed a back-up supply of ammo. There were four boxes each containing 3 rounds of ammo, " How convient ! " Lina smirked and gave out the boxes. I think our job here is done. Lina loved saying that as if she was some kind of important person. Lina mulled over her thoughts and remembered the girl left bloody in the bathroom. Lina felt layers of tears building up in her eyes, she didn't want to be alone. But she'd found a good friend now, Yuuka. Lina looked up at Yuuka and wiped away the tears. " Thank you, for everything".

OOC: Infection, not infected. A completely valid statement. He didn't say anything about fighting infected, only infection and the ebola virus.

After getting himself situated and ready to leave, Edward took out the medium sized notebook from under his jacket, and opened it up to the first page. Everything had been logged, a journal of events that dated back to 1998. There were some gaps, but from what hes been reading, it was the time when everything was fine again. He hadnt contributed to the final stand against the infection, but then again, that wasnt his job, and there was nothing he couldve done to help anyways. As he flipped though the pages, the things he did remember were becoming more clear to him, but the things that were a mystery to him trembled with frustration.
~~~
2012, February 22nd, 5:35am __________________________ Flying in a chopper over the Arklay Mountains, I had a hunch that something was going on around here. At first it started like ever other day, but as the sun drew higher in the sky, things were becoming less clear to me. Something is going on in these woods, something more famillier to me and a handful of other who survived that night in July of nineteen ninety eight. As im writing this, everything is going through my head like a raging waterfall. My thoughts are coming down with a rapid, violent flow, creating a wall between my mind and my goal. Im beginning to think that maybe whatever is going on is something I should think twice about before...
~~~
Flipping the page, there was nothing left to read. They were all blank, not even fingerprints riddled the corners. Edward thought about contenuing the journal, but he didnt know what to write anymore. But there was one place were he could get some answers, about what was going on in this city, and maybe even learn about himself. Edward put the notebook away, and walked to the doorway. Looking through the bars at the top, he could see a few infected roaming around, but nothing too hard to slip by them without any trouble. Normally he didnt speak out to the room, but this was needed. "Im going to the Raccoon City Time building, just a few blocks down the street. If you want to come with me, its your choice..."

" Uuh " Lina murmmered as Edward left. " What was that all about Yuu?" Lina was really confused and Lina muttered " what to do ?" Hey she thought let Yuu choose shes a friend after all. " Yuu should we follow? " Lina asked politely, Lina gave a sharp glance at Claypoole as he looked away. Lina liked Yuuka, to her she felt like her sister even though they'd only met Yuu was Lina's kind of person.

"Yeah sure, let's go." Yuuka said, grinning. This would be fun. She eyed the other guy suspiciously, wondering what his decision was. But she smiled, taking Lina's hand, smiling. She liked her new friends, and wondered what the trio would do together. Fighting zombies on a daily basis, yeah, that would make a good theme song. She wondered if Claypoole would join them, but she doubted it. Following after Edward, they made their way to Raccoon City Times.
[[Lina and Yuuka are now at Raccoon City Times, if it's okay with Lina.]] [[I'll have the car there too. Can't leave my precious convertible behind~!!!]]

Logan wasnt really up for sharing stories with Clarissa, it wouldnt interest her, he was a very boring character. But, if she was that interested, what harm could it possibly do? Walking through the streets, he kept a keen sense of watch on every ally, every corner, and even below him to make sure nothing got the jump on them. As he did this, Logan spoke, he would tell his story, and it would be nothing short of the truth.
"Back probably before you were even born, I was sent to prison for the murder of a family, wife, husband, and daughter..." The opener was always the toughest part, most people couldnt even comprehend standing next to a person who would be morally capable of doing something like that. Logan could tell that Clarissa was already starting to get chills thinking about it, but he continued anyways. "...They were witness' to a crime, I was going to prison either way. By 1998, six years before I would have been released, the world was f*cked regardess, the infected spread. I and an inmate partner broke out during a riot, made a dash for the Arklay Mountains..."
As this moment, Logan thought about Lisa, she smile. Oh the irony, but he let his story keep going, see if maybe he could get a kick out of Clarissa. "...My adoptive sister Lisa, shes a cop. Hearing about the prison break, she stated to investigate. We ran into eachother, and worked together, fighting through the threes back to our old home in Sunset Hills..." There was a gap, it wasnt important. Logan had no parents, he was adopted by a family. Quickly, he grew attached to Lisa, and she became his only friend, his only family.
"...Lisa and met up with some others, god, I forget the names now. We all survived before finally meeting up with another couple, Raine and Joey. We made quite a team, let me tell ya..." This wasnt a lie, they were unstoppable, even from the events that followed. With Jonathan dropping in and out to make life worse, they had to stay together in order to survive. "...When the outbreak came to a close, seemed we all separated, cept for Lisa and myself. I dont think there was ever a moment I let her out of my site, she comes on top over everybody else in this world. I would put a bullet in anybody to make sure she was happy, if thats what she wanted..."
Good thing this never happened, or it wouldve been back to jail for him. He cleaned his act up long ago, after reuniting with Lisa, he didnt need anything else in life. "...Heh, as of now, this is the only time weve been apart, and its for a reason. My friend Joey, his daughter was apparently hurt, and is locked up in the Raccoon City Hospital with a friend of hers. I took it upon myself to go make sure she was alright, im doing whats best for Joey, its what Lisa wanted..." And that brought them to here and now.
Seeing the Gun Galore ahead of them, Logan wouldve loved to pick up some more ammunition for his revolver, but knew that it would most likely be cleaned out. Maybe he could find a box or two, it was better then nothing. Bobbing his head up and down several times to let Clarissa know that he was finished, Logan didnt ask about her story. If she honestly wanted to share something with him, then all the power to her. Frankly, Logan didnt really care, but a conversation always kept his mind off all of the other troubles.

Clarissa listened to Logan's back story intently. So he was a murderer huh? Ontop of that he was willing to do anything to protect his sister Lisa. That was something she'd have to give props to. Most people would put their own asses before anyone else's. To be honest, Clarissa had already assumed he had blood on his hands since he was so closed up and moody. The young girl probably would have been more intimidated had she'd not been through s*** herself. Hell, she knew she should be terrified standing next to someone that would probably shoot her without a second thought, but somehow she wasn't.
She waited for him to finish and shrugged a bit. "Well, I don't think any of that matters anymore. What's done is done and the only concern you should have now is staying alive and protecting your sister," she said, nodding. They had neared Guns Galore as of now and Clarissa was certainly familiar with it. There wasn't much left there save for some rounds scattered around the ground for weapons she hadn't owned.
The windows were busted in and glass, a gumball machine and half of a car had been incased inside the entrance. She tried to think of something else to say. She figured he wouldn't care about her life story since she and the old man weren't exactly on a good note. Still though, it'd be nice to talk to someone other than herself.
"I don't know anything before my 8th birthday. I can't remember much of life before the outbreak and the only person I can remember is my father after waking up from what I was assuming was an unconscious state. Course he always told me he wasn't my real dad and neither of us knew my real parents anyway so he figured, 'Why not?' and he took care of me. I guess I often wonder about my real parents and how they are, if they're alive, but eh. Doesn't matter. I wouldn't trade Jack for anything or anyone else in the world. He'd always be my dad," she said, taking a quickly glance back and fourth as they crawled over the wreckage to get inside the store.
She looked up to see if Logan had been listening. Probably not, but she just wanted to pretend someone listened to her. If her friend were still with her, he might have...
"A couple of years ago we trusted some people my dad had met up with. They were nice and stayed with us for about a week then they just kinda went bats*** insane. Eh, some things happened and the last thing I knew, there was a smell of gas and my dad was throwing me out of the building then it went up in flames. I'm sure he got out, but as big as the blast was, I couldn't go around it to see...Since then I'd been alone. It's okay I guess, but every time I meet someone they're never who you'd think they were..." she finished, tilting her a little as she thought about some of her encounters.
Of course she left alot of things out, things that would probably make people flinch and paranoid, but it just were facts and experiences she didn't really feel comfortable talking about. It was over anyway. All of it. Over.
"I met this one guy though. He was a little bit older than me. He was really cool..handled himself pretty good and he had this iron gauntlet from a suit of armor he stole from the museum. He used to as a weapon on his right hand. He was a bit moody too but he treated me really good. Eh...we got separated via this giant ass gulp worm that broke through the subway tunnels back in Springvale. That was like, a year ago, I think," she said in a monotone voice.
"I just don't wanna be by myself anymore. I don't think I can handle it. It's not the surviving that I'm worried about either.."

Logan heard every word Clarissas story, paying attention. It kept him interested, knowing now that there was somebody else with a rough past too wandering around Raccoon City. Despite her age and little appearance, she was a tough cookie, told by even how she held the handgun. While he listened, Logan shuffled around the back wall, managing to find several boxes of .44 ammunition, he could definitely use these. Loading the six in the his gun, and pocketing the rest, he felt a lot more secure if they ever ran into something larger, something that would need some serious firepower to take down.
But when she ended on a downer note, Logan found it was maybe time he put in some words. "Well, looks like its your lucky night, princess... You can stick around with me if you want, just so long as you dont slow me down. Its gonna be quite the trek through the streets to the Hospital, and the streets are getting real dark, so thats not making things any easier. Were just passing through, dont think were stopping here for much longer. Just grab whatever you can, and lets move out." Before anything else could be said, there was a loud bark coming from outside of the gunshop, followed by the sound of a shotgun.
