Artimes looked back at the licker on the ground. For a moment she had thought Joanna would shoot her, an action she would have had to stop if she wouldn't have noticed the barrel shift slightly. Though being that Joanna was past her arm reach she wondered just how effectively she would have been able to stop her. As she watched Joanna place a bullet into the lickers head she couldn't help but think back to the day she was finally free of her mother. "One," she said as Joanna looked up at her with a puzzled face. "I saved one." She turned around and headed up the last set up steps.
"My mother brought me into this world to get what she wanted out of Umbrella. When she didn't get what she wanted she tried to abort me, but they wouldn't let her. She was forced to raise me, and every day I undergone her abuse finding closure in the library and the books given to me by soldiers. I wanted to be better than that woman, and Kyle helped me. She managed to escape Umbrella and my first roll as an operative was to kill her. I failed. After some training I made my second chance at her. By this time she had a daughter." Opening the door to the roof she looked around before stepping out. "Granted I did shoot her. I killed my mother and her new family, but saved the child. I gave her to someone I could trust in raising her."
She looked around the roof before heading over to a fenced in portion on the roof. "From here we can see the layout of the rest of the park." With the butt of the gun she broke the lock off the fence and walked inside. Making her way over to the valve it took nothing to open it, and maybe it was because of how well kept it was. It had been hidden amongst the rest of the controls for the building. So the only normal wear would have been since Umbrella the city fell. Once it was secured she made her way to the edge of the roof. "Looks like we’re going to have a field day with the last three." The swarm of undead in the park had multiplied along with several Bows of different origins. "We could make it easier by going in through the lab. There wasn't any indication of undead or Bows free in the facility, but we'll need gas mask if we do. There's too much gas in the facility now to roam it without one."

"Not to mention if we encounter anything hostile we'll be stuck to only blades and hand-to-hand, because of the flammable toxins." Joanna said, "Id hate to take on one of those KONG's toe to toe." refering to the previously fought gorilla BOW.
She looked back at Artemis, thinking hard. She didn't have to say all that about her mother, but then again she herself didnt have to talk about her murdered families. For some reason, she was giving out personal history, as was Artemis. Hell, she was even starting to label her differently, and that worried her. She was with UMBRELLA, her sworn enemy, but instead of guarding what she said, she was talking to her almost as much as she did with her therepist. And that she saved the child, against orders no doubt, showed that perhaps there was still some humanity left in her.
She shook her head as if to dispel her thoughts and looked towards the masses of undead and BOWs. She did not like the thought of going through the labs, any number of things could go wrong, but they were on short time, and didnt have much choice. "If your sure you can navigate through the labs, then lets do it. I got a spare mask if you need one."

She shook her head no at the offer of the mask, and instead produced a half mask from under her vest. “Flexible, and still allows communication to headquarters,” she pointed out as she lead them back down the stairs of the building. Instead of stopping at the main level she continued down into the basement. “We do have to be mindful of setting off the gas, but not so much if the situation arises. Umbrella sets its labs up with fire proof doors for each section,” she said as she moved through the basement. She led Joanna to a set of shelves before grabbing one and tipping it over revealing a door. With the door open it lead into an elevator, and with a sixteen digit code later the elevator was making it’s decent. “There are two other entrances just like this. The one at the last point that I was going to set the charge, and then the one at the first area you found me in.” She looked around the elevator in silence as she waited for the elevator to arrive at the hive. “There is a fourth entrance just on that leads to the woods about 200 miles north of here, but it’s only accessible through an underground railway.” She paused in thought as she tried to think before a red lite brought her out of it and an alarm sounded as an indication of a chemical leak. “That’s our que,” she said as she put her mask on. It wasn’t about five minutes later that the elevators opened into a darken room only lite by the flashing red light, and the alarm seemed to echo throughout the area.
Using her flashlight she moved over to a security room where the officers would check in the guest or scientist that entered the lab. Inside the sound was muffled, but without the main power unites on she couldn’t shut off the annoying sound or the blinding light. In the back was a set of barkers and with a quick flip nothing happened. She rolled her eyes as she moved to another switch that turned on the generators to the facility. They were only meant to work the basics of the facility and that was just what she needed for them to get through here. With that on and the lights flickering on very dimly she walked over to the computer shutting off the red lights and turning off the sound. She looked at Joanna before pulling out a map of the facility and handing it to her. “In case we get separated,” she pointed out the cafeteria. “We’ll meet here even if we have to back track. Keep the map I had to memorize this place before I came,” she said as she opened the door back into the main area. “If you get to the cafeteria before I do wait ten minutes and then high tail it out of here. Even if I can’t turn on all of the valves if something happens I will blow what I can. I’ll give you twenty minutes to make it to the railway. It would be your safest bet.”

Shaking her head and grinning, Joanna followed Artemis to the hidden elevator. At her mention of sectional fire proof doors, she looked at her, "You think I dont know that? This isnt the first time Ive been in an UMBRELLA lab complex you know, Ive been in at least 6 different complexes. all Im saying is that we have to be careful."
she listened to artemis carefully while she talked about the different entrances and exit until the red light and alarm sounded. Following her unexpected partner, she stayed on watch while artemis powered the generators and killed the alarm. When Artemis handed her the map of the facility she quickly looked over it, a flash of recognition went on her face before folding it and placing it in her pocket. "Understood, but that might not be necesary." she said, following Artemis into the main area. Artemis looked at her, a puzzled look showing on her face. "This complex has the exact same outlay as one ive been in before," she explained, "and that one had a selfdestruct mechanism. If this one also has a selfdestruct, then we can use it if we cant reach the other valves or you lose the explosive charge."

"They all do," she said about the self destruct button. "Future reference here," she said as she over to a desk and asked for the map. She pointed out three large labs on the lower floors. "These three are set to shut themselves off from the rest of the facility during the self destruct sequence. Everything in these labs would survive the explosion, and Umbrella has the technology to get to these areas." She folded the map up and handed it back to Joanna. "Thus the reason for the gas. It opens the vents, and bypass the reinforced doors. The gas that seeps into those rooms will set off separate explosions of their own destroying themselves."
She walked to a door that lead further into the facility. Using her card on the door is slid open without a problem. "The future reference part I mentioned earlier," she said as she glanced back at Joanna. "Every Umbrella labs have those three rooms. The way you can tell which lab it is it will either wrap around the virus or weapon research." She lead Joanna to the first room which was the reason they were originally here. She looked through the door before opening it. "An army of Bows that neither of our groups control." She glanced around the room before stepping in. "It actually worries me that there is someone out there capable of over riding Umbrella."
Shaking her head she moved through the room pausing when she noticed something that was out of place. She expected one of the stasis chambers to be open due to the creature that attacked earlier, but this was different. Moving down the row she counted. Six open unites, and that didn't bod well for them being in the facility. "Stay sharp," she said as she pointed out the chamber and headed to the back of the room. The valve hidden behind computers, but a lot more easier to open. Once it was open she grabbed Joanna and left the room securing the door behind them. She typed in another code and watched another solid steal door lock down the room. "Six is to much. I don't want the chance that more of them escape."

"Yeah no kidding." she said, looking at the double steel doors. "Did Kyle tell you about the different BOWs in stasis here?" She looked at Artemis with a puzzled look. "But first off, dont you know about the secondary self destruct?" When Artemis looked at her with a puzzled look Joanna sighed. "Ill take that as a no." She looked at Artemis seriously. "Umbrella made several Labs with a second type of self destruct, known only to Branch executives, project leaders in those labs and the lab director. This second self destruct not only destroyed the complex, but the 3 lab rooms as well. It was a failsafe if anything escaped containment or contaminated the facility that was deemed too dangerous or catastrophic to ever let it see the light of day. You said it yourself, UMBRELLA wants to control the world, however they also dont want to rule a barren pile of rock. To ensure nothing would survive, the explosives used in the secondary self-destruct wasnt the standard explosive charges, but a 5 kiloton nuclear warhead. The labs that had this failsafe always had the same design," she held up the folded map, "This design."

Artimes looked at Joanna before moving up the hall. It disturbed her greatly that she wasn't informed of that part of the facility planning, but what bothered her the most was that this other person knew about it. It would have made it easier for them to just send in a sweeper team to take out this facility then, and now she was left wondering about her dealing with Umbrella. She stopped for a moment in the middle of the hall shaking her head. She was thinking about Umbrella finally deciding to cut their ties with her, but it wasn't her choice weather Umbrella finally decided they were done with her. She had dedicated her life to them and it was theirs to do with as they seen fit. She looked at Joanna for a moment before heading down the hall again. "Kyle didn't tell me what kind of weapons were in those chambers, but we should be able to get an idea in the main lab," she pointed out as they came upon another set of large doors. Typing in the code the doors slid open revealing a large computer facility. "There should be a generator around here. Lets get it on to so we can get these computers up," she said as she headed across the room.

Joanna started walking to the far wall, where she knew the hidden room with the generator was held, old memories flooding back. She knew alot about the labs with the nukes because the lab she grew up in was one of them. reaching the far wall she moved 3 meters to the left and crouched down. feeling Artemis's gaze she felt for the hidden panel. Finding it she pressed it, causing it to slide left, revealing a keypad. remembering the old passcode she hoped that the codes were the same as she input the 12 digit code. Luckily, the code worked, causing a smaller panel to slide left, revealing a keyhole. Using her lockpick gun, she quickly unlocked the door and swung it open. seeing the generator she quickly moved to it and started it up. She went back into the room and looked at Artemis, who had a stunned look on her face, and grinned. "The codes are the same, probably so sweeper teams would be more capable of doing their job if this place needed to be blown." she frowned, "Speaking of which, It would have been easier for UMBRELLA to send a sweeper team to activate the nuke. Something isnt right, have you done anything to anger Kyle recently?"

(I don't believe you made it to Jefferson's memorial yet,if you did i will simply edit it later.)
Hammer grunted as the APC came to a halt.He looked over to one of the men in the vehicle and motioned for the radio. He gripped the device as it was handed to him, then he signaled for the team to get out and set up a perimeter. The sealed door began to open and the four heavily armed and armored men stepped out.Two moved quickly up the steps to the statue and the other two scoped around it,silently taking out the few infected surrounding. They then quietly waited for the doctor to come out.
He looked over to the co-drivers and cleared his throat before asking,"What operative is down there with her?"
"Joanna Lupo, codename Fury...she is down there with Reaper." Hammer sighed at the name, for he had heard it before when he worked for the corporation.Very deadly, never fails.Today she would,if the BSAA could do it's job.
"Command to Fury."Hammer paused for a second,he had never done this before with an organization other than Tricell...he wondered if he was doing it right.
"This is Doctor Charles Hammer of Tricell's Research and Development Division.I was sent as a last minute addition by your superiors with a team to aid you in light of the recent B.O.W activity surge.
The Umbrella operative you are currently with is very dangerous as you know. The orders i carry are to kill her and finish the labs. After she is dead you will meet my team at the Jefferson memorial for evac.It should be a clear path forward from where you are,my team will have a clear exit for you.
It is imperative that you terminate Reaper! We've received message reporting a new team was coming for her Evac.If she is still alive when they arrive, you will have no chance of survival.
Any questions you have will be answered upon Evac.I will be relaying your comm to command, there seems to be some interference."Hammer placed the radio back down and nodded to the drivers. They activated a device from the APC that would in fact interfere with any communications she would attempt with the outside world.
There were only a few lies he told just then,he only needed Reaper out of the picture. If Lupo made it,he would make things up as they went.If not, that would be even better. He moved out with a briefcase and up the stairs quick. The two soldiers following him up and the APC door sealing shut.Hammer approached the large statue and, with an adjustment of his glasses, began the process of getting into the lab.

Joanna scowled while she listenned to 'DR Charles Hammer'. She knew he was talking Bull**** Because the BSAA gave her huge operational leeway. She only got new orders when she reported in with dire situational intelligence and even then she only got backup if she requested it, which she hadnt on either counts. She decided to misdirect them.
"Copy, LIMA CHARLIE." She switched off her radio and turned to Artemis. "Guess who decided to crash the party, TRICELL R&D Division. Id guess they are the ones responsible for the security breach. They want you dead really badly and this complex intact."
She quickly moved to the now powered computer and inserted a USB into one of the ports, releasing a virus that disabled all its security and downloaded every bit of information in its hard drive and every server connected to it.
"I assume that neither of us want them to succeed so here's my Idea. We activate both the primary and secondary self destructs and place thermite charges around as we do so. this will give a pretty good chance of destroying this place since it sounded like they only have a small team."
Taking out the now full USB she turned towards Artemis. "Thoughts?"

This was bad . . . very bad in her case. She now understood the message that her father had given her before she left on this trip. At the time it didn’t make any since, but even then he said it eventually would. Her hands gripped the back of the chair she was leaning against her mind void of any other thoughts, and it took her a moment to even realize that Joanna was talking to her. She looked up at her as she worked away on the computers. “It sounds like there is a third player to this little story,” she said as she stepped away from the chair and walked over to Joanna.
“Either way we go we can’t allow these creatures out into the open world.” She reached up to her neck removing the golden locket her father had given her just before she left. It was no ordinary locket either and he had shown her that. She held it out toward Joanna as she opened the locket and slid the picture back as a USB port opened up. “The entire thing is a computer chip. Given to me by the only man I could ever consider a real father within that lab, and I don’t mean Kyle. He gave it to me before I left and told me that Umbrella’s greatest threat was their greatest weapon.” She opened her hand and set the locket in her palm. She turned and walked toward the door.
“At the time I didn’t understand even though the statement is so simple, but with the fact that Kyle has withheld vital information and the fact that this could have been done by a simple USBS team proves that they no longer need me.” She glanced back over her shoulder toward Joanna. “I may be loyal toward Umbrella because that’s all I know, but I have also learned that I will not go down without a fight.” She opened the door coming face to face with one of the Bows that had escaped their chamber. It’s hunched over body still put it at the same height as her, the long extended arms bent at the elbows leading to the sharp claws. Its long slender legs with the knees bent backwards to give it the ability to jump great heights. Its head had a long snout like a dog with the razor sharp teeth to follow it.
Artiment quickly shut the door in its face only to have its claws cut into the thick blast proof door. She blinked not because of how close it was to her head, but at how sharp the claws were. With this one her entire armor wouldn’t even be able to protect her. She looked back at Joanna. “Do you have what you need, because I think we need to find a back door to this room. An then go with your plan on setting both self-destructs.”

As a former Umbrella man,it didn't take long for hammer to get his team into the lab. After that, two of the men escorted the doctor to the 'control center' of the lab.All the information he needed would be on the computers there. They finally arrived at the large doors and Hammer put in a code sliding them open, nothing was inside but the machinery. He half expected to see some old colleagues with their heads blown off pistol in hand...but nothing. He guessed they had time to leave peacefully.
"Watch the doors, this shouldn't take long."
Hammer waltzed over to the main computer and popped open his briefcase. He pulled a small touch screen pad out and tapped it,giving him the location of a generator in the room and the codes he would need to get to it.He was getting old and couldn't remember all the things he needed to,this helped. He activated the generator and moved back to the computer to begin extracting the data.
His eyes grew and narrowed with the light, then focused on a startling bit of news. All the information from every lab was suddenly converged on one location, the lab that his two nuisances were at currently. He could still download the information for this particular lab,but why waist time doing that when he could simply have the device one of them already utilized to take ALL the information he could want.
"Change of plans gentlemen, you two are going to speed your way down to the lab that the two operatives are currently at,terminate them and retrieve a small memory unit from one of their persons.I don't know specifically what it looks like,so take everything that looks like it could be it.You will have the element of surprise gentlemen, don't waist it."
Hammer looked down at his pad once again and studied it for a moment.
"The distance is not very small, but there should be a passage through the doors to our left that goes under the basin straight to their control room.If your lucky there will be some kind of motor cart to speed you to them. They may or may not have activated some self destruct sequence by the time you get there,i suggest you not waist time.On your way back down the passage there should be some kind of side hall that will take you up to the side of the Basin,we will be waiting there."
With that the two dashed off in the direction he gave them and Charles moved back to the steps with a flash light. If the BSAA operative had taken the bait, then she would be no problem for his men. However if she had not, then his men would not make it out alive but they'd slow the other two down enough to get the rest of his men and his big guns in place.
(You may control the two if it suits your purposes.)

Joanna looked at the locket, processing what Artemis just said. If UMBRELLA was ditching their best operative, then there was a slight chance that she might be convinced to join her in destroying UMBRELLA. She would get to see out of the box for the fist time, And it wouldnt be too bad to have her as a partner. She put the USB in her pocket and the locket around her neck, right next to her mothers silver crucifix, she could use the info on it as a bartering chip with the BSAA.
She looked up when she heard Artemis slam the blast proof door shut, her eyes widened when the BOW's Claws went straight through the door.
When she heard Artemis talking to her she turned back to the computer. "Not yet, Im going to activate the secondary self destruct sequence from this console, lets hope that door holds long enough." as she said that there was a loud bang and the door buckled slightly. "Guess he doesnt like our customer service." she said as she began activating the self destruct, more loud bangs as well as claws occuring during the tense 60 seconds. Alarms started sounding. "Okay done! lets go!" Joanna shouted over the alarms, running to where the generator was. On the wall behind the generator there was keypad. She quickly punched in the code and a section of wall opened revealling a passage way. Just then a loud bang and a roar sounded behind them. "****." She started to go in, and came face to face with a gun barrel. She saw the guns owner grin behind the gasmask, his finger tightening on the trigger. She suddenly heard a sound behind her and quickly crouched down. she felt the BOW pass over her, and saw it collide with the soldier and his friend, all three of them disappearing into the dark. As she quickly closed the door, Joanna heard the soldiers blood-curdling screams. when she got the door closed she turned to Artemis. "I never thought Id be saved by a BOW." she joked weakly as she headed to the now destroyed doorway.

Artimes stepped from behind the door that was shoved into her face when it was busted off its hinges. Her weapon in hand, but it seemed that Joanna had another plan for the creature all together. Watching as she shut the hidden door and the blood curdling screams that echoed beyond it. She grinned slightly as she stepped out into the hall making sure it’s clear. “Clear,” she called as Joanna followed her out into the hall. She looked up the hall toward the flickering lights cursing slightly considering that she knew those lights weren’t flickering when they first entered into the lab. Edging forward slowly she glanced back to make sure that Joanna was still behind her.
Further down the hall she stopped at the sound of something moving in the vents. She looked up as they shook violently before stopping. She edged forward until the vent in front of her dropped to the ground. A large black harry appendage poked out of the vent followed by another, and then a third as its large harry body came through the whole followed by the rest of its appendages. Artimes shuddered as she backed Joanna back down the hall toward another door. She fired several rounds down the hall a spark igniting the gas already in the hall, and as the hall flashed over with fire she shut the door behind her. She backed away from the door feeling the heat from the fire, but the squealing of the dying spider in the hall indicated the idea had worked.
An alarm sounded as the echoing of doors shutting off the areas. She looked back at Joanna. “I hate spiders,” she said as she walked over to the control panel and typed in a security code that activated the sprinkler system in the area. “How long was the self-destruct set for?” she asked as she looked back toward her.

"15 minutes, that should be enough for us to get to the railway and out of the blast radius. We should double time it, cause there is no way to deactivate it. it was made that way." Joanna looked at Artemis, thinking hard. "If UMBRELLAs abandoning you what do you think will happen to your half sister. UMBRELLA, and Kyle, arent known for kindness. She will either be brainwashed and trained to be their next attack dog, murdered or experimented on." The sounds of blast doors opening echoed around them. Joanna moved to the closed door and opened it, getting some droplets on her Full-faced gasmask. Wiping them off she turned back to Artemis. "With the data I collected and the locket I can barter with the BSAA so you will have immunity from your previous actions. You will probably be debriefed but Ill make sure your not locked up. Im a Mercenary with a contract from the BSAA, I do the jobs even the BSAA STARS would hesitate to do, and with little to no support and with huge operational leeway and control. They trust me to get the job done, and pay really big bucks to do so." "Im not asking you to join the BSAA but instead to let me help you get your sister safe, and If you find working with me acceptable, then we can become partners if you choose. If not then we can go our seperate ways." She grinned, "Though it would be nice to have a partner who isnt BSAA. I swear everytime it happens they try to convince me to actually become a member, so they can pay me less."
