Arc rushed in the door behind Emily, but lowered his weapon once they began to exchange words. A survivor in this place? He was honestly expecting the worst. Walking toward them man, Arc put out his arm, and shook James' hand. "Good to see someone alive here... Now, hate to rush things, but you wouldnt happen to know where the fuel supply is around here, would you? Chopper out front is pretty low..."
He didnt want to sound needy, but Louis really needed that lift as soon as possible. Arc walked over to the window while the man responded, and looked down at the pilot and Julie. He was waiting patiently, while she sticking close to the chopper. The sun was just going down, so it would be good to get the refueling down while it was still bright out. "Lets get down to the ground, we can talk more."

Emily nodded in agreement with Arc. It was probably a good idea to get fueled up and indoors for awhile. As the three exited the home, Emily took notice of a few zombies that had been approaching the resdence. Their movements were slow so they were still some ways away from them.
"I can't believe Ashland's overrun...last time I was here it was still lively...Wait til Anna sees this," she said to James.
James frowned and looked back at her warily. "That's right, you and mom left together, where is she? Did she find Richard?" he asked.
Emily smiled and patted his shoulder. "She sure did. The last time we heard, they were on their way by car...it'll be awhile. I can't stay long though. Arc and I have to head out in a bit. I'm relying on you and Uncle Jack to care for that little girl...she lost her father so...ya know," she explained.
James looked at little Julie and frowned again. He understood entirely. Afterall he'd lost his parents in Raccoon City years ago. Sighing, he glanced over to Arc. Pointing towards the garage he smiled a little.
"The pumps are inside. There's a padlock there to keep poachers out, but I got ahole of the key. It's right along side the house key Mr. Harrison gave me," he began, unhooking the key and handing it over to Arc.
"Here, take it. Make sure to lock up afterwards, though."

Arc was acting a bit rushed, but he tried to hide it the best he could. Taking the key from James, he nodded toward the man, and then spoke. "I appriciate this very much, thanks..." Almost going into a run, he made his way out of the house, and then toward the garage alongside the chopper. Opening up the doors, Arc made his away inside, and then switched on the gas station. Bringing the hose out to the chopper, using the pilots help, they got it inside, and started to fill the tank.
While the pilot did this, Arc jumped back inside the chopper, and began to bring out all six large empty tanks to the ground. One by one, they began to fill them up, putting them back inside the chopper for safe keeping. It should be enough fuel to last them another month, at least. After filling up, Arc put the hose back inside, and checked the pressure. The guy had more then a years worth left, he barely put a dent in it.
Shutting everything off, and locking the garage back up, Arc made his way over to the pilot, and switched onto radio while he gathered his stuff into a duffle bag. "Alright, your good to go. Say a few words for Louis now, would you? I cant thank him enough for what he did back in the day. Radio in when your back in Raccoon City, I know youll do fine on your own. Later!" Arc backed away as the chopper took off into the air, and then away from the area. He brought the duffle bag back into the house, and then handed over the garage key. "Really appriciate it, thanks again."

Emily watched as the pilot ascended into the air, covering her eyes with the back of her arm with pieces of her hair blowing into her face. Julie latched herself onto her side and buried her face into Emily's tank top a little.
James coughed and batted the dust away from his face whilst grabbing the key from Arc. "No problem, I'm sure Mr. Harrison wouldn't mind. He's a good guy," he assured Arc.
Curiousity getting the best of her, Emily raised an eyebrow at Arc. "The Louis you're referring to must be the same Louis that's associated with Joey who woulsbe the son ofthat nice old man, Mr Douchette, right?" she asked.
"Questions later! We've got company!" James yelled, pointing at the oncoming zombies. There'd had to have been atleast a dozen of them closing in.

Arc mumbled a swear word to himself, and then dashed for the house, tossing his bag onto the floor and opening it up. Grabbing two magazines from the side, he strapped them to his side, and then moved back out to the others with his SMG drawn. Crouching down, he fired off a string of three rounds, spreading the closests infected chest and face, and completely mowing it down to the ground with precise aim.
After another few seconds, he heard the rifle crack off in the air from James, and another corpse drop. At the same time, Emily was gunning the infected down aswell. All thee of them had a handle on the situation, and the group of undead didnt stand a chance. In less then two minuts, the horde was defeated, with only one magazine of ammunition expanded. Inserting another clip into his gun, Arc stood back onto his feet, and then responded. "Small world, especially when the majority of it is already long gone. I know the guy, yeah. Cold son of a b*tch, but you can trust him..."

Emily nodded at Arc's statement about Louis, lowering her aim and slipping the weapon into it's proper holster. She laughed slightly and continued to make her way North to get back to her Uncle's home.
"Cold, no. Trustworthy, yes," she replied, recalling the recent events where she landed stuck with him as a partner. He didn't seem that bad. He laughed at her sarcasm and jokes! He wasn't that bad.
"I'd ask, but I don't wanna seem nosey..." Jamed began, chuckling. Glancing over at Arc, the young man smiled. "So how'd you get tangled up with my mom and Emily?" he wondered.
As he spoke, Emily took notice to Julie's odd behavior. She seemed to be bothered by something...not to mention she was a bit pale and sickly.
"Julie, sweetheart, are you alright?" she asked of the little girl. The child looked up at Emily and frowned, shaking her head.
"Julie...?" she muttered, worriedly.

Arc grinned, but inside he knew Louis was much more dangerous then Emily had figured. But that story would be left for another time. Her and Julie stayed on the deck, while Arc and James walked inside the house. He knelt down to unpack his duffel bag, laying everything he would need for the next morning, or if they had to leave in a hurry during the night. "Well, Anna and I shared some moments. I found her from the chopper while the pilot and I were patrolling from the sky, and I couldnt just leave her be. She was alone, and no matter how much we know she could handle herself, its always best to move around the city with a partner. Might be a little different out here in bum f*uck nowhere, but in highly infection-populated city, it can get pretty dangerous..."
As he spoke, Arc strapped up his belt with magazines, explosives, tools, everything he would be needing while on foot. His heavy SMG was easily carried on a shoulder strap, while his .45 was easily carried at his side. He took some food in the duffle bag, aswell, not really sure how they were doing out here. Extra ammunition aswell, always a handy thing to bring along. As he dragged his gear against the wall out of the way, he contenued. "...As for Emily, much of the same story, really. Believe it or not, I met quite a few survivors in my time in Raccoon City, and got myself entangled in quite a bit of situations, too. Not always good ones, either..."
As much as Arc would like to hide where he got all of his training, as well as the usage of the equipment, he would hope that James here would just assume he was from the military, or something of the like. But neither him nor Emily really knew his origins, and the longer he kept thinking about his duty, the longer he was reminded of his passed. Arc was sure it wouldnt make a different, but he would really much rather not get into the whole of the details. It was a topic hes always avoided, but at the same time, one that nobody ever bothers to bring up. Generations move on, knowledge gets tucked away, but the truth always remains.
Arc paused from his speech for a few seconds, looking outside of the window toward Emily and Julie still outside. Standing up from against the wall, he moved toward the window closer, trying to get a better view of the two, but then went to the doorway to call for them to come inside. The porch light didnt give off much glow, and they could barely even be seen now. Darkness falls fast, especially out in the country. "Hey chicka, why dont you take her inside, its getting dark..." But he knew something was wrong, he could sense it.

James nodded listening intently to Arc's words. "Yeah, my mom can be too proud and I'm sure she came off kinda rude to you, but if she worked with you anyway, that usually means she's fond of you. It's just hard for her to get along with people, cept maybe Richard, but I'm sure that's quite obvious as to why she's so leniant and patient with him," he began, patting Arc's shoulder and walking deeper into the house.
"Grandpa Jack! Lucy! I'm back!" he called out, entering futher into the home.
Outside, Emily had heard Arc calling out to them. She arched her hea dup, looking over Julie's head since she was kneeling down infront of her, talking to her. Sighng, she stood to her feet and grasped onto her small hand, helping the child into the home, shutting the door behind her.
Glancing at Arc, she made it to the base of the staircase. "I'm gonna go lay Julie down, she doesn't seem to be feeling good, must be from what happened previously to our meeting..." she trailed off, referring to the loss of her father.
Seing Arc nod understandingly, she clmbed the case with the girl only to disappear upstairs somewhere. As Arc went back to look over his things, he suddenly felt something press up against the back of his head. With experience, he already knew exactly what it was. A weapon.
Standing firm behind him, an older man held the nose of his shotgun up to Arc, his eyes darting through the back of his head.
"Who the hell are you? Tryin' to loot or somethin' boy?" he asked with a southern-like drawl. Beside him another small child had hid, her red hair tied into pigtails and her eyes furowed together.
"We don't have much, so if you could be kind enough to get the hell outta my house, I 'd reckon I won't hafta shoot ya," he said.

Julie didnt look very good when Arc caught a glimpse of her, but he knew Emily would keep her safe. The room went silent, and the only sound was him rooting through the rest of his supplise in the duffel bag. He didnt see a point in lugging around his empty magazines, four of them was more then enough to deal with a heavy situation. He thought about Julie again, something was up, and he usually drew the worst conclusion in his head before spurting out anything.
Within the next moment, Arc felt something press against his head, and then the rusty words of an old man speak from behind. "Is this how you treat all your g-" But the man cut him off from finishing the sentence with a jerk into head from the barrel of the heavy shotgun. Flexing his wrist straight quietly, Arc lifted his elbow around the gun, and then pressed his grip up, pointing the barrel away from him. "Might wanna pull the hammer back on them older shotguns first, before intending to fire. Unless you were-" But the old man spoke loudly again.

After getting his shotgun pulled out of his grasp, the old man immediately kicked the back of Arc's leg out, sending him to his knees, then got his arms pinned behind his back and shoved to the ground, Mr. McGraw keeping one knee on his back and arms.
"Who the hell are you?!" He barked. The little girl knitted her eyebrows together as she grasped onto her grandfather's arms.
"Grampa!" she yelled.
On cue, James came bargin in, a look of worry on his face. "Hey! Gramps! That ain't a looter! It's one of ma's and Emily's friend, Arc! He helped me!"
The old man looked back down at Arc, who was rather confused at the moment. Mr. McGraw got up and released the man, looking down at him and rubbing the back of his neck a little.
"Sorry about that, just, ya never know who's on your side now-a-days. I'm Jack. Jack McGraw," the older man said, putting his hand out and bringing Arc back up to his feet.
Upstairs, Emily had laid Julie down and frowned a little. Upon getting off the bed to leave her to some well deserved rest, she'd spotted something seeping through her jacket sleeve. Emily's eyes widened as she reached over and rolled up, said sleeve only to find some old bandages wrapped around the little girl's arm.
"Julie..." she muttered, carefully unravelling them. Gasping, she spotted the source...To her horror, there was a rather large, nasty, bite. It was infected as well...
Looking back at the girl's face she shook her head in denile. "No...No this can't be...This...She...Oh God, not her...she's so little...so young..." she ranted on, tears threatening to slip down her eyes.

If I had known things were going to get this bad, I probably would have kept on that chopper. Ive seen some pretty bad situations during my time in Raccoon City. Seen people come, seen people go. Seen people live, and seen people die. Hell, I even seen people get back up and start eating people around them. But no matter how much killing in own childhood ive seen, nothing could have prepared me for tonight...
Arc couldnt defend himself again the old man, not because he was too overpowering, but because he would more then likely hurt the guy in the process. But by the time Jame has came in the room, things got a little easy, and Arc was helped to his feet. After the introduction, he smiled, and then responded. "Thats quite alright sir, used to being all alone out, when the next guy comes knocking, you never know who theyre gonna be. My names Arcian Griffin, im in charge of the rescue missions going on around Raccoon City..."
After handing over the shotgun to the man, Arc finished his sentence. "Ive even had the pleasure in escorting your daughter to my chopper. But, I cant possibly take all the credit for that one." He spoke, jokingly. The mood was changed up when he looked at the stairs, and noticed that Emily had been taking awhile with Julie. James had began talking to the old guy, Arc never paid much attention to it. He could hear noises coming from upstairs, but they were in his head. Leaving the room, he paced toward the steps, and then slowely began to climb them, looking towards the open door. "Emily...?" Something was up, he could just feel it...

As Arc had nearly approached the door, Emily came flying out the doorway with the little girl ontop of her and growling rather fiercly. Her long brown hair was covering her face, but what could be made out was her snarling teeth as she tried ripping away and biting at the woman. Emily had tears running down her eyes as she wrestled with the little girl.
One moment, Julie was resting the next, she'd gotten out of bed andlunged at Emily. The little girl, wasn't a little, meek, girl any longer. Since she became an infected her strength was that of a full grown adult.
Trying to keep her mouth away from her face, Emily struggled beneath her, not even reaching for her gun. She just couldn't hurt her. It would kill her...
"Julie! J-Julie stop!" Emily cried out.
James and Jack came running upstairs to the upstart, then immediately halted when they saw what was happening before their very eyes. Neitherof them moved for quite some time. The little redhead beside Jack had clenched her tiny fists onto her granfather's shirt and shook uncontrollably.
"JULIE NO!" Emily yelled out, trying to keep her mouth at bay.
She'd yet to have noticed Arc rearing closer in an attempt to help, that is until he saw him reach for the child. "DON'T HURT HER!" she yelled at him through tears.

Arc moved up the steps, and with each pace it seemed his life was slowing down. Each breath he took was deep and rough, but quiet and collective. As he got to the last step, he could hear Emily speaking, but he couldnt make out the words that she spoke. It was completely muffled out by another sound, and he couldnt figure out what it was. Pausing to stop his breathing, Arc listened carefully, and then began to walk even slower toward the door. Reaching for the doorknob, he was about to place his hand lower, but...
I couldnt do it. I remember just stopping, it didnt seem like the right thing to do, walk in on someone. It wasnt even my house, and I didnt want to knock incase it woke Julie up. If only I knew, I wouldve been in their soon. But things happen for a reason, and this is how my story was meant to go.
Arc backed away from the door was it burst open, and he saw to his horror, the little girl violently clinging onto Emily. Pulling out his .45 almost instantainiously, Arc saw her eyes, and he knew what was going on. He aimed at her with the gun, though the sights, toward her head. But it all happened so fast, this couldnt happen like this right now. Pulling his gun away, Arc moved forward, and then grabbed a hold of the girl, pulling her off of Emily as the woman yelled at him.
He didnt want to hurt her, but this sickness inside was doing more harm then anything he could inflict onto another human being. Arc grasped the girl in his arms, holding her chin firmly in his hand, and his other hand locking her abdominal into off the ground. Emily grabbed a hold of his arm, yelling through the tears, pulling it away from him. At this moment, Julie bent down and bit down onto upper arm. Arc ripped his locked arm away from Emily, and then pushed the little girl to the ground. Going for his gun, he pulled it out, and pointed it toward her on the ground. Closing his eyes, Arc steadied the gun, and then a loud gunshot filled the house, as single tear rolled down the side of his own face.

Emily's eyes widened as she watched Arc put Julie out of her misery. Her mouth hung open and her body tensed before tightly clenching her teeth together and grasping onto Arc's tactics vest and violently shaking him. "YOU BASTARD! YOU SONUVA b*tch!" she yelled, through tears as she started pounding on his chest and then fell to her knees, over the child's body.
"Julie...I'm so sorry...I'm so so sorry..." she sobbed, drawing the body into her arms and holding onto her tightly. She failed Rick...she failed Julie...that was all that had gone through her head as of now.
Behind them, Jack had knelt down to his grandaughter and held her close, shielding her eyes from the scene. He didn't know what he'd do if that'd happened to Lucy...he didn't know what Anna would do if that's happed to her daughter... James, however, couldn't look away. He'd seen that little girl alive and almost well not that long ago and now...she was gone...
In the mean time, Emily continued to hold the dead child and sobbed loudly. So loud, it could possibly attract unwanted visitors...She didn't care though. She was hurting inside.
"Julie..." she cried before screaming out into the tiny girl's hair. She didn't know what else to do, all she could do was scream and cry.

Nobody should ever have to count the seconds left before their mind slips into eternal darkness, but you cant stop the shadows from growing across your face, only the light of the angels could stop it. Maybe his whole life was about this moment, he was destined to sacrifice his own life for others. This was when he knew that was true, this was his way of making up for his past. They say death takes you to a better place, but I doubt. If so then why wouldnt the ones living ever speak about it?
In this world, and much like any others that would exist, theirs always the concept of time. The times when you either know that morning you might not make it passed this day, or you would go on just like it was any other day. The concept of time would have you focus on what would happen if you could take it all back, and retry. For the times when your said the wrong thing, or when you didnt say anything at all. When you acted out the wrong way, or didnt act out at all. Its all a matter of chance, not so much destiny. If we could control the past, there would be no need for destiny.
But I knew I was going to die, and I knew what I had done was the right thing. I cant control whats already happened, so theres no use wondering how things would have happened if I hadnt have did what I did. Ill die with no regrets. And even if I could have my time back, I wouldnt change a thing.
Arc felt the pain in his arm, and then Emily losing control, and beating him in anger. But he didnt feel the pain, his mind was somewhere else, it was still on the girl. He backed away from them, and then shook his head, why did it have to end like this? He couldnt help what he did, he couldnt see Emily do it herself, he just didnt see it happening. If someone was going to do it, it would have to be have been him. No matter how much he tried to convince himself it was thing to do, it didnt make him feel any better justifying himsef.
Arc held onto his arm, and then walked away from the group, down the steps. He couldnt stay here, hed already caused to much trouble as it was, they shouldnt have to worry about him. In his job, people come and go. He wouldve loved for this day to turn out different, but in the end, he always just walked away, and contenued on with his life. Tossing his equipment into the duffel bag in a matter of seconds, Arc lifted it up, and then went outside into the darkness.
Moving toward the edge of the barn though the dark, Arc lowered himself against the side, and then closed his eyes. Letting go of his arm, he smashed the side of the building with his elbow in anger several times, and then pulled out his forty five. Flicking on the light switch, he shined it onto his sleeve, rolling it up. There was a small section of teeth marks bittin deep, blood seeping through the wound. The only difference was the childs teeth werent strong enough to rip flesh away. Arc lowered the gun, and then pulled the slide back, readying the chamber. He just lay on the ground, holding the gun, breathing intensely.
