Plenty of these lying around the massive country. Their home to monsters of both the natural kind and the unnatural kind. Watch your step, and not only for the monsters, but quite literally.

As Jason drove the car started to skid on the ice. The skidding wasn't the problem though. Something large struck the side of the car causing the window to shatter and the car to slid across the ice. It finally stopped spinning as the car slid off the road. Alex brushed the glass off of her and looked around. What ever hit them was no where to be seen. She turned to look at Jason. "Are you okay?" she asked before opening the door. It took her a moment before she was able top open it. Steping outside of the car she turned to look around for what ever hit them, but again she seen nothing. "What ever hit us damaged your car pretty good," she said as she looked down at the door. "Can it still run?"

“Fine.” Jason said, wiping a line of blood from the side of his head. He tried opening his own door and found that it wouldn’t budge, so he slid over to her open door. She asked if the car would still run, and he took a look.
“No smoke, there is a good chance.” He said. He then looked around. He reached into his jacket, pulling out one of his guns. “But that should be our secondary worry.” He said. Whatever had hit them was the primary worry.
“There are weapons in the trunk, open it.” He said. It would be quicker for her to rip it open than for him to get the keys. And even then they lock may have been damaged.

Alex nodded as she walked around to the trunk. Touching the hood she found that it was covered in slim. She looked around the area, but there was nothing there. "Jason," she spoke lightly. She removed her cloves and carefully whiped her hand across the back of the hood. "Ah . . . It burns," she mumbled as she reached down to whipe her hand in the snow. Pulling it back she found that they were red. "They still burn." She looked at the hood again, and then reached for the bottom of the hood. Jerking up she ripped the hood from the latch. "Wow- thank you have the entire arsenal in there," she said with a slightly laugh. Looking around the swamps she realized for a frozen wastland the woods ahead of them were very trecherous. "Some of that water's not frozen. Means probably most of the ice isn't completly solid either." She looked over to Jason. "What do we do now?"

“We use it to our advantage.” He answered when she mentioned the ice. Walking to the back of the vehicle and picking up one of the rifles, he slipped a magazine into it and pulled the bolt back. “Can you shoot?” He asked her, slipping a few magazines into his jacket pockets.
“Get into the car, drive it back to solid ground.” He told her, shouldering the weapon and looking for signs of whatever had pushed them off of the road. He didn’t see anything, but that wouldn’t last long.

Alex nodded as she climbed through the passanger side into the driver's seat. She set the car into reverse, but it wouldn't move. She put it into drive and it jerked slightly. Switching the gears back and forth she was able to get the car to finally back up. Looking back to make sure she didn't hit any trees when she turned around she seen a creature that she had never crossed before. Standing about five feet taller than Jason it's body didn't even seem to be solid. The greenish black slime dripping from it's body made it hard to tell if there was anything solid beneith it's surface.
She threw the car into park. "JASON!" she shouted, but the creature was already moving, and faster than she expected for it's speed. It slammed full force into Jason's back throwing him across the snowy plain. As Jason hit the ground the creature was already moving again. Alex forgot about the weapons for the time being, and decided to meet the creature head on. Slamming hard into each other Alex was able to hold her ground keeping the creature from moving. Being so close she could feel the slim touching the bare parts of her skin, and the burning sensation that quickly followed. Still she stood her ground, and managed to shove the creature back.
Though the burning didn't die down, but grew worse and it almost felt like her skin was on fire. Alex tried her best to whipe the side of her face and neck off that came into contact with the creatre, along with the parts of her wrist when her coat sleave pushed off. The creature charged again, but Alex managed to push away the pain and quickly pulled out one of the guns she had grabbed. Firing several rounds she quickly found that they did nothing, but **** the creature off. Again she braced herself as the creature collided with her. She braved a look back to see if Jason was getting up, but found that to be a mistake. The creature quickly gained the upper hand, and was able to shove her down into the snow. It's large hand of some sort covering her entire face. Alex struggled finding that where ever the slim touched started to burn. Though that was the least of her worries as she found herself unable to breath or even shove the creature off of her.

Jason suddenly felt himself flying through the air, being caught from behind as the creature silently moved and attacked. Landing in a heap and sliding along the ice, he quickly got back to his feet and held up the M4. The thing looked like a blob of sludge, and he instantly knew that shooting it wouldn't do anything. But with the events that took place in the next few seconds, he knew that he needed to get it's attention.
Firing off a few rounds and watching chunks of the creature fly off only to be replaced by more of the goo, it turned back to him and started sliding along the ice toward him.
"Alex!" He yelled, not sure if she would respond or even move from her position after the attack. She had to, or they were done for. He had an idea...
"Get the car off of the ice!" He yelled. He backed away to draw the creature to the weaker parts of the ice and to give Alex room to manuever the car. He just hoped she got going soon...

Alex gasped and coughed heavily as she rolled to her side. Through teary eyes she looked at Jason. Her face burned, her arms burned, and her lungs burned. Yet she had to move. She had to do what he asked, neither of them could walk to civilization in this weather. Crawling a bit until she was able to climb to her feet she stumbled toward the car until she hit the hood. Still gasping for air, she used the car to help her around. Climbing into the driver's seat she threw the car in revers, and stomped on the gas. The car slid side ways a bit before hitting the bump that lead to the road. Throwing it in park once she new she was on solid land. She gripped the stearing wheel tightly as she leaned forward, and continued her painful gasps hoping that Jason was able to do something.

Gunshots sounded as Jason used the M4 until it was empty. Taking out the magazine and lining up a shot, he threw it at the monster and watched it stick. That took care of that question. He reached into a pocket and pulled out, not another magazine, but a small object that looked like a hockey puck. Throwing it at the creature and watching it stick, he reached into another pocket and pushed a button. He held up the side of his jacket to protect his face from the sludge, having seen its acidic effects but noted how it didn’t burn non-organic material, and heard the explosion.
Starting in a run across the ice in case it started to crack, he dropped another on the ground near the creature and sprinted to solid land. When the creature had assembled itself again and was making its way toward him, he detonated the second mine and watched the ice crumble. Hopefully the thing would suffer some sort of consequence from the freezing cold water…

As the ice crumbled beneith the creature it tried it's best to run in the oposite direction only to end up in the icy swampy waters. It let out a horible scream as it sunk below the water. As the murky water stilled the creature did not surface again.
Alex threw open the driver's door again, and took a couple of steps from the car before she hit her knees and threw up. She coughed and gagged a bit before she grabbed her sides. It was a moment before she threw up again. She gagged a bit more before she rested back on her knees. Leaning foreward slightly she still continued to gasp heavily. Her body burned along with her lungs. She only hoped that it would pass quickly. Waiting a moment before she was able to calm herself down she turned to look at Jason. "I- is it gone?" she asked with a raspy voice. As she looked at the water it stood still, and it already looked like the ice was starting to form over it once more.

“For now. Let’s not stick around and wait for it to come back.” He said, going to the drivers side door and opening it with a bit of prying from his knife. Alex scooted over, and he got into the drivers seat, starting the car and pulling back onto the road. He took it slow, not sure if the car would hold together for much longer. That, and a lower speed would ensure that they didn’t flip if it did fail in some way.
“We can be at the next checkpoint soon. From there, we’ll get on a plane and stop by the apartment in London.” He said. It’d be good for her to get some of her things, and maybe they would get lucky and find a trace of Jonathon.

Alex had dozed off in the car. The burning sensation easing up greatly, but she could still tell it was there. She was pretty sure that it was ment to paralize and subdue the pray, and maybe even kill it. When the car hit a bump in the road Alex jolted up looking around. She let out a heavy sigh as she sat back in the seat. The city was quickly approching, and soon they would be on the pain heading back to one of her many homes. It took a moment, but quickly dawned on her. She knew it had been a while since she was personally at one of the airports without the ability to by pass all the security. "Jason we have a problem," she said looking over to him.
She looked out the window as the buildings started passing them by. "I wont be able to get past their security. I will set off those machines like the forth of july," she pointed out. Looking back to him and then out the front window as the airport grew closer. She rubbed her chest slightly as the burning sensation was still there, though it wasn't like earlier. Looking back to Jason almost hoping that she wasn't going to be stuck in Russia, and that he at least had a plan of some sort.

“Don’t worry, I have ways around that.” He said. It was amazing how quickly security forces would accept a fake ID in these times. The fact that everything was being run by NATO probably helped that. They had more reason to trust an Interpol agent or someone of equal importance than local authorities.
He pulled into the airstrip area of the outpost and pulled his briefcase out of the back seat. He opened it up and pulled out a small folder, opening it and pulling out a small card case. He attached an Interpol badge to one part with the ease of someone who had done so a hundred times in the past, and then pulled an identification card with his picture and information and slid it inside.
“And just like that, free plane ride.” He said with a smirk. He pulled out his briefcase and handed it to her to hold, getting out of the car and starting toward the small building.

Alex was a bit amazed that they just let them walk right past without even asking them to step through the scanners or anything of that sort. She looked back before following Jason into the building. It wasn't as packed as she expected it to be, but then again most people in Russia were hidding or had already left. She followed Jason to the ticket counter where he managed to obtain two tickets, and not even a question was asked. She smirked a bit as she now recalled all those times in the past he kept popping up out of no where. He had been doing this for quite some time, and it just seemed to come as a second nature to him.
She followed him through the airport to a quite place they could sit down and wait for their plain. "You do this so well," she said under her breath so no one could hear her. She looked up at him, and then out over the small group of people that were in the airport. She sighed a bit as the thought of returning home ran through her head. She knew that he wouldn't be there, and wondered if they would ever find him. There was only one question she wanted to ask, and maybe two. Though in the end she knew what had to be done, and it still hurt to think of all the things that lead up to this. Sighing a bit she leaned forward resting her elbows on her knees.

Jason let a small smirk cross his face when Alex commented on how good he was at faking his way through security.
“I’ve been doing this for over twenty years, I would hope I’ve learned most of the tricks by now.” He said. He took a look around the small building that was serving as the airport terminal. It looked like a terminal, might have been a small one, but it was downright tiny compared to most he had seen in his life.
“What would you say to him?” He asked her, out of the blue. It was a subject he had put a fair amount of thought into. What he would have said to the people he had cared for before they were taken from him. His mother and father, if he had had any. His project leader who had turned out to be a double agent, who had freed him. The old Irishman who had taught him a lot of what he knew. What would he have said to them if he had known they would be ripped away from him in an instant?
