This apartment building takes up half a city block and is five stories high. The lower three levels are inhabited by lower class citizens while the top three belong to the middle class. The complex has a variety of facilities at its disposal such as an outdoor pool, game room, fitness center and public garden. The residents of this building decided to try and stay and wait out the outbreak. Because of this there are many makeshift barricades making it somewhat difficult to get inside.

Hammer sat in his comfortable chair staring at a set of four screens stacked two to a row.He looked from one to the other slowly then took a sip of coffee and turned to look at a man patiently waiting to speak to him. "Doctor,we have confirmed that she is among the group in this apartment complex." Hammer nodded then looked back to the screens. They showed the three sides and roof of the area that the survivors and target were inhabiting. It was plain video feed,Dr.Hammer moved his fingers slightly on the arm rest to tap it and all four screens went thermal vision.A Heads Up Display popped up and each screen zoomed in on one individual, following one that was currently moving, the other three were stationary. He tapped again and the zoom moved onto another set, there were exactly eight in total on the third floor. The drone hovering above the roof had an especially powerful camera in it allowing it to see through the top two floors.Hammer took in a little extra air to speak... "Locate the abnormality." All four then zoomed in on one body.It was without a doubt the body of a female, and the H.U.D's on all four screens showed features not normal of humans.Hammer tapped the armrest once more and the views got farther and farther away until the screens went black. He turned to the man on his right again. "Get Sinistra into position two blocks away, and set up the visuals to feed here."The man nodded and briskly walked off. Hammer stood slowly and moved to the left side of the room as the sound of a moving steam piston could be heard not far away. One large screen lit up in front of him and he glared at it. "One of the many that have gotten away from us...you will be brought back, and with so much experience.Abigail." ---------------------------------- A man appeared at the door and tapped it once. The seven foot behemoth slowly pivoted to look upon him.The man gulped and pointed to a large gun on the wall, and spoke calmly. "Doctor Hammer wants you to retrieve the target for us...him.There are seven others, they are to be eliminated but she is to remain un harmed. She is advanced in speed and agility, she will probably dodge your physical attacks...you may wound her,but try to be gentle." Sinistra grunted and moved to the wall where his gun waited.Every step sounded as if a mallet was hitting stone. He stopped at the wall and pushed his arm into the Mini-guns open straps which closed tight as his arm went into place. The behemoth then lifted the weapon and put his back to the wall allowing an ammunition pack to attach itself to him and the gun.He grunted once more and followed the man to a waiting Armored Carrier just for him.It drove off very quickly as soon as he was inside and sealed. ---------------------------------- Dr.Hammer returned to his seat in front of the four stacked screens as a moving view was now on them. The two on the left showed one view the two on the right showed another, regular and computerized. The view of his personal Guardian and henchman Tryant, Sinistra. The drivers of his vehicle were instructed to place him two blocks away from the apartment building,it was changed to one block upon taking his slow non combative walking manner.Upon his nearing,Hammer activated a mic that only Sinistra heard and reacted to. "Go through the back entrance,a service door will be there.Open it as quietly as possible, once inside move to the third floor.Fire upon everything that is not the target, move her out of the way if need be but do not kill her.The APC will move into place at the front entrance once you begin firing.Get this done quickly." As Hammer finished Sinistra was at the large service entrance, with ease and not too much noise he busted the double doors to the side with the barrels of his Mini-Gun.He moved up the stairs without any pauses or extra exertion. The expression on the young mans face standing at the top of the third floor flight was priceless to Dr.Hammer.It did not last as Sinistra quickly swung the gun bearing arm to the boys head sending him flying into the wall dead on impact. As the Mini-Guns motors began to go into motion and the signature hum started,a number at the H.U.D changed from 7 to 6 and a lone highlighted 1 popped up.It began.

-enter Abigail Marie Bertrand (2012)-
Abigail was sitting on padded leather chair, rocking back and forth apathetically. She repeatedly tapped the arm of her chair with her index finger in an attempt to provide some entertainment. Her eyes glanced to a clock built within a microwave above the mini-refrigerator placed in the small kitchen within the apartment room. It read eight twenty three o'clock. Turning towards the windows, Abigail had a nearly perfect view of the full-moon. "What a beautiful sight." she said to herself in fascination.
In the room with her were three men and two women that she had met earlier in the day. Who they were exactly was still a mystery to Abigail; she didn't know any of their names. What she did know, however, is that they were capable. They had been pushing through a horde of zombies a few miles away from the apartment complex when she encountered them. While she knew it would be a pain in the ass, her compassionate personality led her to aid them in their venture. By the end of the night, the group had battled through a couple dozen walkers, and took shelter in the apartments they're in now.
Abigail's eyes had begun drifting off when her dozing was interrupted by a faint noise. A scream, along with a sickening crack immediately broke all feelings of weariness. "That must have been the guy we sent to guard the stairway." she thought. Adrenaline began pumping through her veins as she heard what sounded like enormous foot steps coming closer and closer towards her. She leapt from her seat, turned around to grab her UMP from the desk behind her, and turned back. By now, the rest of the group had taken cover with their weapons aimed at the doorway. The steps continued to get louder until they came to an abrupt stop.
"Is it gone?" Abigail heard one of the survivors ask. His question was answered when a hail of bullets pierced through the door and wiped three more of the group: two men and one woman. For a moment, the bullets stopped. "What the f*** was that? the same man said, though this time his voice was shaken by fear. He peeked out of his cover to glance out the door.
"No, stay down!" Abigail shouted at the man. Her warning was too late, and the man was torn to pieces by whatever was shooting at them. "Goddamn it!" she cursed at the death of the man
The last person left alive other than herself was the other woman. "Stay calm." Abigail said, attempting to maintain control over her actions. "On my mark, aim just your gun out of cover and unleash everything you've got on this bastard, alright?" The woman nodded and Abigail began counting down. "One, two, three, mark!" she shouted and opened fire upon their attacker. The plan seemed to have worked. Upon peering out, however, Abigail was shocked to find that the creature was just waiting, and fired at the last of her companion's. "S***!" she yelled as she watched the woman across from her perish.
By now, the blood of Abigail's companions covered the white-carpeted ground of the apartment. Despite barely knowing them, Abigail couldn't help but be overrun by sorrow for those killed. They had made it through a zombie horde only to be killed by a single creature. Planting her back against the wall she had been hiding behind, she dropped her UMP, which had been drained of ammo during the firefight, and drew her handgun. Even if she believed she was going to die, she wouldn't go down without a fight.

Sinistra waited until the barrels on his Mini-Gun stopped rolling and as the smoke began to descend he broke the rest of the door down viciously. He moved deliberately, slowly towards the girl but stopped about five feet away.He lowered his gunning arm and glared around the room at the torn apart bodies, and grunted. He did so slowly then looked back to the girl, without any thought of her trying to escape at all.His black eerie goggles gaze lied on her as he lifted his "Normal" arm up and pointed out of the window. Three stories below in front of the building waited a black armored vehicle, the Tricell logo was emblazoned in green and white on its top.The Behemoth then quickly side stepped creating a pathway to the door he previously crashed through showing the bullet holed hallway. The sad bloody disfigured boy at the end remained, and hopefully reminded the girl of what could be her. There was a stair case just outside of the door,he gestured to it,if she attempted to run down to the other stair case...he would wing her leg. What a .308 fired from his cannon would do to her leg...he didn't think about. -------------------------- Doctor Hammer watched his creation work and move as efficiently as he had intended upon it's creation. He watched the girls movement and stance with interest, her own adaptations. From the records he'd retrieved from her former holding facility, they never intended her to use any firearms. This was upon her own doing. Hammer signaled the co-driver via radio to get out with his rifle aimed up towards the window when Sinistra pointed to it.This would prevent her from trying to escape...if his Behemoth had not done this already. He sincerely hoped she would not attempt to escape, her brother would not appreciate her being harmed in any way.

Abigail's emotions were out of control at this point. Watching her acquaintances being slaughtered around her reminded her much of the night her father went insane. Fury coursed through her; she gripped her weapon tightly and peeked around the corner she had taken cover behind. A monstrous creature stood within her sight. Within its hand was a minigun. It was no wonder it managed to eliminate all of them with little effort; there was nothing Abigail could have done to save them. They were doomed from the start.
The loud crash of the creature's footsteps shocked Abigail. It was approaching her once more. "S***" she said to herself, unaware of what to do. When she was within its view, it stopped. Much to her surpise, it didn't attempt to kill her. Instead, it pointed out the window, as if it wanted her to look out it. She removed her left hand from her submachine gun and pointed it at the ground with her right. Holding her left-hand up as she backed up towards the window, she hoped it would recognize that she was only following its instructions. When her back touched the railing, she turned around and tilted her head down. Below, she saw something she despised: the Tricell logo. "You bastards." she muttered under her breath.
Still looking over the balcony, she took notice of the balcony for the room adjacent to the one she was one. Between them was a small gap, one that she could rather easily jump across. "Oh God." her words were filled with an unsure trembling. "Am I really considering this?" she shook her head in disbelief.
She turned back around to face the B.O.W, whom was now gesturing at her to head out of the room. Abigail didn't even have to recognize that Tricell was simply attempting to retrieve her once again. "Not going to let that happen." she said with a smirk. As soon as the words left her mouth, she swiftly hopped atop the railing to the balcony she stood upon, and leapt to the other. Upon landing, she shifted all of her weight into a roll, and proceeded to repeat the same action to the balcony next to that one. Now, there was an entire room between her and her stalker. Using her submachine gun, she fired bullets into the sliding glass door, shattering it. From there, she dashed through the room, opened the doorway, and ran to the stairway opposite of the one the creature had gestured to earlier. Perhaps she would make it out.
((I feel really awkward about how I worded that last paragraph, but if it doesn't make sense, just picture Mirror's Edge; she's leaping from one balcony to another in an effort to escape.))

Hammer was a little angry at what she did.But he was not shocked and frankly,he would have been quite disappointed had she not attempted escape. Without any order given the co-driver ran and kicked down the front door and fired an incendiary grenade from an under-barrel attachment on his rifle at the bottom of the staircase. This would most definitely have stopped her from heading that way...leaving the only option as going back up. -------------------------------------------------- Sinistra wasted no time in opening fire once more after her.He stopped when she moved from sight, both eyes then switched over to high power thermal vision. He began firing once again as she neared the staircase, creating a steady stream of bullets behind her.He did this as the flames began below, trapping her.

Abigail ran down the staircase with incredible speed. She swiftly made her way to the second floor, only to be cut-off by the flames of an incendiary grenade. About to return back up, Abigail was once more halted by the tyrant whom had slaughtered her companions. The creature was beginning to descend the stairs towards her. In a panic, she swiftly scanned for another escape, and found a window behind her. Glancing out of it, there was no doubt in her mind that she could land without harm. With a pepper of bullets, the glass window shattered and allowed Abigail to leap out from it. She rolled upon landing, and quickly entered a sprint away from the building.
She had only taken a few steps before she was forced to stop. The noise had attracted a small horde of zombies craving a quick snack. "S***." she cursed under her breath. There was no way she was going to be able to push through this Horde; she had only a magazine left. With no other options, she ran the opposite direction of the horde.

Her resilience continued to impress Hammer. He'd simply have to put more people on the job.He looked to the man on his lift once again and nodded. The assistant walked out to meet two waiting teams of armed Tricell special forces. He stopped and looked to one standing separate from the others, the captain. "Doctor Hammer wants your teams to assist in the capture of the target. She is not to be harmed, sedation may prove necessary. Sinistra and two others are already on the site, satellite image shows a horde in the area as well. She is moving north with Sinistra and the two east of her.You should know what to do." The captain nodded and loaded himself and his teams into the waiting APC's.They were not far away from the site and would arrive soon. ------------------------------------ Sinistra kept the girl in his sight as long as possible,he lost her quickly. He walked down through the flames to the waiting co-driver,and moved his arm towards the APC.The man sprinted to it and got in,the two drove away to cut her off while Sinistra followed her heat path.He sprinted for the distance that was between them, smashing through walls as short cuts.As her heat signal began to increase a combined heat signal began to grow close to her,she approached it and moved away quickly. He was about thirty feet in front of her when he smashed through the final wall between them and turned to face her. Looking past her he fired into the horde, only after being ordered to do so by Doctor Hammer. The infected began to drop quickly, their heads being blown through with surprising accuracy by his cannon. As Sinistra did this the APC that accompanied him smashed through a blockade and shut off the closest escape path. The co-pilot then mounted a machine gun that was propped on the vehicle and aimed at her. "It would be in your best interest to come with us.We don't want to hurt you...Doctor Hammer says your brother would not appreciate it if we did so." As he finished talking another APC smashed through a barricade on her left, and a few blocks up the street, opposite the horde came another APC.Both had gunners on them already, aiming in the direction of the girl.

"My brother?" Abigail said, shock apparent on her face. A flood of thoughts traveled through her mind at the mention of Timothy: how could they have him, was he okay? She shook her head and focused on the current situation; they could easily just be attempting to get her to surrender without a fight. There was no possible way they could have him, was there? Nothing she knew could prove whether he was alive or dead. Perhaps they aren't actually bluffing, she thought.
As APC's began to surround her, Abigail immediately recognized that they meant serious business. Three vehicles all with mounted machine guns ready to mow her down if she didn't make the right move. She circled around to take a look. The chances of her escaping grew to impossible odds. With a horde of zombies approaching, the only way she was going to make it out alive was by cooperating. "Alright, you've got me." she said, clearly frustrated with the situation. "Just take me." It pained her that she was surrendering so easily, but she did; there were no other options.
