“I’ve worked for a few companies since the beginning of the outbreak. Ran with a small group for a while. Then, we just drifted apart…” He said. “I’ve been on my own for about a month now.” He said. He took a short look at her when she spoke her next piece, and then looked back at the road.
“You get used to it.” He said coldly. Thoughts of the people he actually gave a damn about flashed into his mind, and he shut his eyes for a moment to try and block out the thoughts.
“So who are you looking for?” He asked, trying to steer the conversation away from remembering people from the past.

Angela listened to Tyson go over a brief but informative summary about his time spent in the Global Outbreak. He seemed to hae responded to her own story coldly, notifying her that she'd probably hit home somewhere. She'd frowned and wanted to apologize for bringing back any unwanted memories but then he'd asked just who she was looking for.
She rubbed the back of her neck, not sure how to explain her current situation. It was a complicated story, sort of farfetched. He probably wouldn't believe it even if she told him. Instead, she'd smiled warily, placing both hands in her lap, clenched into fists.
"I'm looking for my aunt and uncle," she began, it wasn't entirely true but they were related to her. "My Uncle, he's a...uh... well I guess the right term would be, "Hit Man".Well, he used to be anyway. My Aunt, she's...I don't even know. But yeah, I'm looking for them and then I'm setting off to find my brother, Ark...um...Arkansas."

“Right.” Tyson said, almost sounding like he didn’t believe her. But, he wasn’t one to judge. He had done some pretty unbelievable s*** in his time. Like saving the lives of hundred of thousands of people. Or being part of the skeleton team that crippled an organization that outnumbered them hundreds to one.
They exited the park and continued on the road until it gave way to a dirt path through the forest. Stopping a moment to shift the truck into four wheel drive, he continued toward the checkpoint that they both needed to be at.
(Now at Trinity Checkpoint.)
