The few gunshots coming from somewhere on the same floor had been expected. Walkers, or even worse, couldve easily been lurking around. Manuel and Preston would be able to get the job done in an hour tops, if they do it thoroughly enough. Barricading the staircase would be a good idea, too, even if its just temporary. Arc wanted to be out of this hospital asap, but that wont be possible, might have to stay overnight. It hadnt been dark outside yet, but it was at least only a couple of hours away from six judging by the sun going down slowley over the building tops.
After getting lost in though, Arc listened to Clarissa's sad story, but it didnt emotionally hit him. That was something he didnt have left in him, but he did feel sad for her with the expressions he made. "I know what its like to lose people, ive been there ones too many times. The best thing you can do is just stay strong, and keep yourself alive. Not just for yourself, but for the people who died. Your dad wouldve wanted you to do something other than mourn for him, he knows how strong you are. Better yet, you know how strong you are, I can see it everytime you open your mouth. Theres no fear." And believe me, Arc knew something about fear. His life had turned into a nightmare he just couldnt wake up from. Everybody was in the same deep sleep, but nobody can ever wake up.

Clarissa listened to Arc's words intently, nodding her head before shrugging a little. She didn't mean to come off so rude and she understood what he was saying to her, but the funny thing was, she wasn't afraid of anything.
"I'm not afraid, infact, this whole predicament we're in, the zombies and monsters...the whole apocalypse thing, it doesn't scare me one bit. I just miss my dad," she explained. It probably didn't make much sense. Mot survivors her age probably curl up into balls and bawl over this thing, but she didn't see a reason to.
"Either way, all I'm worried about now is finding two other friends and a safe house. I'll be fine then."

The Hunter dropped to the floor and blood ran out of it's wound. Manuel dropped the spent canister and loaded another one into it. He whistled to Preston to come out of hiding. Preston emerged out of the room to the left and smiled. "Sorry about uh attracting the Hunter." Preston said smiling. Manuel sighed and motioned for him to come here.
"Go check on Arc and the little girl" Manuel whispered. Preston nodded and began to walk down the hallway. Manuel made sure that Preston was gone before entering the room that the hunter emerged from. Once he entered the room, Manuel saw that there was a small locker. It was locked and he couldn't find a key. Manuel debating shooting the lock, but that would attract attention. Damn, I gotta find the key.

"Wait, your two friends? Ill help you find them, these wounds will heal." Jumping off from the bed, Arc stretched out, allowing the gunshot holes to ease into a motion, get used to moving around. The pain wasnt so bad, and with the dosage of morphene he took, it would be find for at least the rest of the night. Clarissa was probably a little worried about him getting up like that, especially since she saw the wounds were bad, but Arc would be fine. Grabbing for his .45 pistol in his holster, he was annoyed to find it missing. He never had one there in the first place, not since his last incident. He had been using this knife for the longest time, no doubt Clarissa would question that.
"Listen, if you think theyre still alive, than im with you. I lost contact with my chopper, so were gonna have to stay here for the night at least, you know yourself that going out on the streets at night is a bad idea..." Arc knew it was always a bad idea, even though he could handle himself with nothing but his bare hands. Taking others with him would be a bad idea. It was bad enough having Preston see him like a monster, Arc was still a little uneasy about it, what was going through his mind. The urges were something that had come naturally, and he could barely control them. It was getting harder and hard to every day.

Clarissa had frowned when he told her he'd help her search for one person who she wasn't sure was even alive still and the other whom probably would be pretty ****ed at her wandering off when he told her to stay put. Clearing her throat, Clarissa seated herself on a counter, her palms face down on the edge of it.
"Alright. But they might not be in the city anymore. Atleast Joseph might not be...Jake might though," she muttered. Silence had overcome the two quickly, it was ackward and so Clarissa took the moment to begin another story.
"I met alot of characters throughout my time without my dad, ya know. The first person I met was this jackass who yelled at me alot. What was his name again...oh yeah, Logan. What a douche," she said.
"Then there was Jake, he was a former Recon soldier, he saved me from some frog monster things in the park and was so cool! He was--" she immediately cut off when she heard the sound of windows breaking and loud caws on the floor.
Off in the hallway, there were crows that apparently sniffed them out and came crashing full force into some of the windows, some of them died on impact while the rest of the flock flew in.
"Ah s***..."

Preston made it into the room where Arc and Clarissa were. Seconds before he got in there, crows busted in the window. They soon flooded the hallway. Preston quickly ran thruogh the crow of crows. He fired two shots out of his revovler and busted into the room. He slammed the door and braced himself against it. They crows continuosly slammed into the door, Preston barely could hold them back. "Arc, you two have to get out...of here.. I can barely hold them back!" Preston said inbetween grunts. He held them for another minute and the door busted open knocking him to the floor. The crows soon flooded the room.
Manuel searched the whole room and didn't find any keys. He went to the adjacent room and saw a lab coat hanging there. He walked to the coat and pulled it of the rack. Manuel proceeded to rummage through the pockets in search of the keys. Instead he found a piece of paper. The paper had a note hastly written on it.
The rest of the letter had blood on it and was unreadable. Manuel folded up the paper and stuck it in his pocket. What's the point of finding a note that had a passcode writting on it and get blood on it? Manuel was aggravted at this point. The only way to get off this damn floor was to figure out the last part of the code and get the key. If not they wouldn't be able to advance further up the floor.

After the windows had broken open, Arc was already on his toes to getting the windows blocked off with something. But it was no use, there was too many of them, and more would come once they got onto the smell of the living. Running out into the hallway, he closed the door behind him, and quickly thought of the best place to lay low while avoiding wasting bullets on the crows. Or in his case, the energy, which he didnt have much of at this moment. The adreanalin was kicking in though, and overcoming the drug in his bloodstream, creating some unknown effect that made him just want to get out of the area.
"The hallway on the opposite side of this floor doesnt have any windows, its on the inside layer of the building. We can hold up in there until those birds are gone!" Manuel had already been leading the way around the corner, taking some dead on pot shots at the infected crows, dropping them like nothing as they flew back out the window, but rared back for another go. Taking the opportunity to get inside of a room, Arc barged through a door behind everybody, getting drawn into something. Two infected. Grabbing on by the neck, he drove the knife into his head, and then pinned the second against the wall, snapping its neck from the impact. By this time, the others had gotten inside, and the door was shut tightly. No windows, they were safe. "We can access the other rooms, so long as we keep quiet."

Clarissa had been running behind the others, holding onto her arm, the pain had begun once more and she was in no condition to pull on the muscle anymore. A few crows had swooped down at her, but the teen had evaded two by twisting her upperbody, allowing them to dive past her, another three had came at her spot on, escaping some stray bullets from the others.
She ducked as much as she could while struggling to run in that position, finally she noticed Arc stop to shoot at a couple and ran passed him into the room the other two had inhabited by now. Once Arc made it in, she'd watched the man rip into two zombie with little to no effort but a hint of anger.
"Woah," she muttered backing into the door as the sounds of cawing and light thuds rapped at the door. Arc had mentioned something about having acess to other rooms. By now, Clarissa was looking up at the ceilings at an air vent.
The last time she was wandering around, there were monsters in them. Better go ahead and warn them before hand..
"Okay, uh, before we move on and all, I should prolly warn you guys about the leech monsters. They tend to pop out of vents here in the hospital...I ran away from one about an hour before you got here..."

You have to be kidding me. Also I found this." Manuel said pulling out the dolded piece of paper. He handed the paper to Arc. The room was silent until, there was several thuds in the ventaltion shaft above them. Manuel shouldered his rifle and pointed it at the vent in the room.

It was probably some sort of breeding ground for them, in the basement somewhere, thats the only explaination as to why they kept popping up in the vents. Arc had killed one of them before, but maybe it wasnt dead entirely. Regardless, they were on the look out for anything that would cause a threat in the long run, but focused mainly on keep a low profile for the time being. Grabbing the piece of paper from Manuel, Arc read the words, which had been going a little blurry from the medication and the slight combat high. It didnt take much to set him off. However, after a little bit of time, he made sense of it. "The lockers at the hospital were usually in three combination locks. This one seems to have five, the rest of the number bloodied out. It was probably a personal deposit box, meaning he was keeping something hidden from the other emplyees. But whoever he left this for mustve been a close friend... And it was written in a hurry."
As interested as he was in finding out what was inside, it wasnt on the top of his mind at the moment. But then Arc though of a good idea, make sure of it. Maybe this was something that could calm him down, get his mind off everything. It note was written for a reason, for somebody to find. They just found it at the wrong time. However, maybe this was the right time.

The group had cautiously stepped through the new hall of the fourth floor, the thudding in the ventilation shafts had seized. Clarissa, uneasy, kept her eyes directed up at the ceiling around them. There were five shafts that she could see, spread out in the hall not including the ones inside other patient rooms.
Keeping her hand on her hosltered, sidearm, she narrowed her eyes. The silence was becoming overbearing and the dark corridors, the lack of a heater, and the sounds of the howling outside the walls, had been more than she could take.
The thudding began once more.
There were more of them than anticipated, meaning there was maybe two or three moving around sporradically in different vents above them. This wasn't good, judging by previous experiences she had with one, more than that one could prove to be fatal.
"They could be anywhere..." she told them a little above a whisper.
(( EDIT: Since this RP is no longer active, I've been told to permenantly end it. Soo yes. It's ended. ))

Ashley Glenwood's eyes slowly opened, the oxygen mask wrapped around his face. His eyes slowly adjusted to the dim light of the room he was in. He noticed that there were moniters by his head showing his heart rate, wires were attached to his body and Ash could feel some slight pain as he moved to a sitting position on the bed. He looked around noticing the closed off curtains to his bed and despite the mask he could smell something overwhelmingly disgusting. Something that smelled like blood, and lots of it. "Where am I? A hospital? How the f*** did I get here?,"Ashley though as he pulled back the blankets and set his feet on the cold white floor. He proceeded to take off the wires and oxygen mask and set them on the bed next to him. Turns out, that was a mistake as Ashley almost gagged as the scent of gore overloaded his senses. He swept back the curtain gently to reveal a slaughter house. There were bodies in grotesque positions and large splashes of dried blood covering the walls and floor. "What the hell happened here?",Ashley thought. He made his way towards a table in the room swiftly dodging the bodies while hurrying to avoid contact with the bloody floor as much as possible. He found a box of surgical masks and gloves on the silver tray that was covered in a smear of dried blood and removed a surgical mask and lifted it over his face. The blood's stench lessened somewhat, but it still made him want to gag. He looked at himself in a blood stained mirror that covered a wall and noticed he wore nothing but one of those gowns a patient wears. "Looks like I'm going to have to find some decent clothing. And a weapon too. And I have to find Asaka and my parents. I hope they're safe,"Ashley said softly. He proceeded out the door only to find more dried blood and dead bodies and most of the doors are blocked off, leaving only a couple of unlocked rooms and a hallway hopefully leading to the stairs leading out of this place. He decided to check the first of the two rooms to see if it had anything of value. He spotted a rather bloody flashlight in the corner next to a corpse of a surgeon. He shook the light a few times to get it to work and when it did he shown it around he caught sight of more dead bodies and even more blood smeared along the walls. He spotted the corpse of a security guard that had his head crushed and a faint smell rising from his body. He had no gun on him, which is a shame. He exited the room and checked the second room. Unlike the first room, this one had nothing of importance except for a couple of empty syringes that were lying on the floor. He exited the second room quickly and went down the hallway to his left as that's the only way out. He didn't want to be anywhere near the stinking corpses. Ashley proceeded towards the 4th floor stairway softly as he did not want to attract attention to himself, seeing as there might be survivors in the floor he was on,and non not to friendly. He made it to the door that opened to the stairs leading to the 3rd floor and walked down them, noting that they too were covered in blood.
