Why these tunnels exist is pretty much unknown, an entrance was located that lead deep down under the ground. By the looks of it, the tunnels were created by something other than human or machinery. Exploration will reveal that it connects onto the old mine tunnels back when Raccoon City was just a small settlement, the connection tunnel suggest it's not the best place to be; what with the skeletons littered all over the place. Constant skittering and burrowing sounds are heard through the walls, stay in the middle of the mine tunnels as best as possible...just incase anything jumps out of the wall to grab you.

Well, this was an interesting predicament… Mikey had been prepared for this. He had skills, he had equipment, he had the willpower to make use of it all. But he was missing the key ingredient in his little plan.
A way out…
It was easy for such major parts of the plan to fall through the cracks when so much time was spent on other measures. Gathering the equipment to survive any situation that the world could throw at you. Something that wasn’t hard to do, surprisingly. One would be amazed at how many applications they could find for a handgun when they needed it.
But, some kind of vehicle would have been nice. He had had one lined up, but it was gone. And he hadn’t had a backup planned. So he had set out on foot. And boy oh boy it hadn’t gone well. The streets had been clear for f**king days, but now all of a sudden he had happened to run into the biggest f**king group for a mile. And they seemed agitated. He didn’t know what would rile up a group of walking, rotten meat bags, but something had. Maybe it was the storm brewing overhead. A storm that soon escalated, the wind coming from nowhere. Flash flood rain coming down and the sting of being hit with small bits of hale. Now he needed shelter from the weather too…
Either way, he had taken off when he saw that if he stayed it would exhaust just about all of the ammo he had with, counting the ones that would be attracted from the shots. And god forbid one of those other things made their way over here. He’d be well and truly f**ked.
So, he’d run. Run for several blocks when he found what looked like, at the time, his salvation. A big hole in the ground that led to a series of tunnels. He ran a ways down them before he stopped to take a look around, slinging his shotgun and pulling out his Glock to use it’s light. The clear beam seemed brighter than normal in the total absence of light. He stopped when he saw the bones on the ground and sighed. Out of the frying pan, into the fire…

Allison trotted along her path, worried about the obvious storm brewing overhead. The rain quickly began to pick up, and so did the winds. A bolt of lightning ripped through the sky, and the booming thunder followed. She could hear the moaning of infected in the distance-- many, many infected. The rain began to drizzle even harder, and Allison's clothing was quickly soaked with rainwater, as was everything else.
She walked out from under the canopy of trees that briefly shrouded her from the rain, only to notice several groups of infected wandering around, seemingly toward her. It became clear that to escape the rain, and the suddenly over-active infected, she would have to find shelter. A large hole in the ground could be seen no more than fifteen feet away, which created a diagonal tunnel into the underground.
Allison made her way toward the tunnel, as another bolt of lightning dominated the sky. She walked inside, immediately realizing her mistake-- she had no flashlight. Before she had time to think, a beam of light suddenly flicked on, just barely deeper into the tunnel. Allison reached behind her, lifting her revolver from its holster on her belt. She aimed forward as she called out to the man.
"Hey, you," she called nonchalantly, raising her voice, just enough to be audible.

“Hey what?” Mikey said quietly, his gun already trained on the stranger pointing a gun at him. He hadn’t mean to point his gun at her, but as luck would have it, it was probably the right thing to do right about now. The light illuminated a slight blonde woman, the laser wavering ever so slightly on the left side of her chest. His finger squeezed the trigger slightly, about a pound and a half of pressure on it.
And then he saw her stance. She wasn’t aiming at him, she was just aiming. Who would go down here without the gun out? He sure drew it as soon as he got down here. He would have even if it didn’t have his main light mounted to it.
“Easy.” He said, pulling his finger out of the trigger guard. He let the gun drop slightly as he reached into a pocket, pulling out a small hand flashlight and let the beam fall on her. He could still see her, but he wasn’t aiming his gun at her. That had to count for some trust, right?
“You running from the horde too?” He asked, not so much a question as an observation. Who would willingly come down here? He took a few slow steps toward her, holding the light out for her to take. He had four flashlights. He’d be ok with one less, at least temporarily.

Allison was relieved to hear a human response, as opposed to more groans of the infected. She wasn't sure what type of infected would be holding a flashlight-- maybe a zombie miner in a headlight or something, but that wasn't the case, thankfully.
As the man lowered his gun, she lowered her revolver, then reached around to her back, shoving it back into its holster. Just as she was about to greet the man, he already began speaking, asking her if she was running from the audible crowd of infected outside of the tunnels.
"Yeah," she told him. "Well, actually," she began again, "It was the crazy thunderstorm that I was gonna duck in here from. I just noticed the horde a minute ago," she added. "I guess that would be the more immediate threat," she laughed. She continued, "Pretty weird that they're gathering like that, especially this far out of town. I guess the thunderstorm is making them restless."
Allison took the flashlight from the man's outstretched hand, and quickly flashed it around the dark tunnel in front of, and behind her.
"Allison Miller," she introduced herself with a professional tone of voice, reaching out for a handshake.
She usually didn't introduce herself by her full name, as the Miller surname coupled her vivid blonde hair often lead people to the assumption that she was the daughter of the C.E.O. of Miller Insurance, which was a popular company in Raccoon City, back before the outbreak. The assumption, while correct, often lead to the following uncomfortable assumption that she would be a pampered priss-- a good girl, which she most certainly was not. Her gang ties during her younger years definitely brought out her rebellious side, and nobody would assume she was heir to a million-dollar business at first sight, aside from her business attire, which carried the lone purpose of emphasizing the professional manner that she carried out contracts for her clientele.

“Michael Hughes.” Mikey said, holding out his hand and taking hers, shaking it a few times, and them releasing it. He took a look around the tunnel with his gun light, seeing the odd shape of it. There were no supports or anything of the sort, so this wasn’t some kind of mining tunnel. That also meant it was unstable… Great.
“The storm could be making them restless, but it wouldn’t make them group up. I’m guessing someone was just around here. Probably doing some shooting. They hear that s*** for miles, and they all coming running.” He said. He’d had some time in his life to study the infected. They didn’t group together for the hell of it, they all just so happened to be going to the same place.
“I say we go one way or other and try to find a way out of here. I don’t know that these walls will hold up for long.” He said, holstering his Glock and swinging the KelTech KSG on the one point sling over to his front. He flipped the light on the grip on and the safety off, taking a look at the only other path that they had. The way both of them had come was obviously off limits.
“Shall we?”

Just before Allison could open her mouth to speak, a pair of infected stumbled into the tunnels. They hissed and groaned as they began shuffling their way toward her and her new-found companion. Several other infected followed quickly behind.
"Looks like we don't have much of a choice!" Allison exclaimed, as she pulled her AK down from her back and took several steps backward.
Lifting the rifle to eye level, Allison gripped it with both hands. Unable to make effective use of the scope at this range, she blindly fired several bursts of four and five shots at the on-coming infected, who were partially shrouded by darkness. The integrated suppressor helped preserve her hearing while shooting in an enclosed area, such as the caves they were in now, and would have made it easy to fire in rapid bursts, had there been enough light and time to be sufficiently accurate. As three or four infected dropped dead, five or six others filled their place. It was obvious that the crowd of infected from outside had continued to grow, and had followed them into the tunnels.
"F*ck it, let's go further into the tunnel," Allison said to Mikey, slinging the rifle over her shoulder and preparing to run.

“Sounds like a plan to me.” Mikey said between shots from his KSG. He backed of a bit and watched the crowd start to grow. It was a waste of time and ammo to try to fight them. The gunshots would just bring more. Keeping his weapon in his arms, he turned and started to run down the hall. Stopping at one of the beams that was supporting the ceiling, he turned back and aimed back down the tunnel.
“Come on!” He yelled, keeping aim down the corridor. If anything else was mixing with the crowd of zombies, things would go from bad to worse quick.
