The OBC1 was bio-dome spear-headed by a government funded research team who specilized in organic co-dependance. These domes were made to create an artificial, isolated environment to see if an equalibrium can be maintained. However, once the Cold War started rich benefactors began buying up space to turn it into their own high tech bomb shelter. Thus it soon became a large hotel as well as a biological reserved combined into one facility. After the war, the money went dry as America experienced a golden age and interests in science focused towards space exploration.
Time went by and little by little the infections began spreading and the team was ignorant as the technology in the facility hadn't changed since the Regan era. One day, a helecopter landed just outside the dome. They were survivors. The first of many to come. With a structure built on cold iron, steel, and with veins pumping hot steam, The OBC1 is a combination of old and new world technology.
This research facility is now used as a safe haven for those who have lost everything to the infection.

Anveena was outside of the dome, more or less leaning against it. Her father had asked her to do one simple task after she completed her morning run. She had gotten up early enough to do that, take a shower and then return. Now she was waiting to escort one of the mechanics out to deal with some work. An yet still she carried no guns, only a knife. Her father still wouldn't trust her with a gun. There were things in the desert that she possible would need a gun to fend off, but when she brought it up to him he put his foot down. Telling her time and time again that she was just a junior . . . Not old enough to do what they did, but she could do what they did and even better.
Huffing slightly. Her dad had been pulled away a lot, and when she actually seen him most of the time their talks ended in an argument. She hated that he tried to protect her so much. She wasn't her mother, and could deal with herself. He made sure of that, and yet he wouldn't let her. Instead she became the slave around the office, and he seemed to turn the other cheek. She never got a chance to do what she wanted, because everyone else was making her do other things. In a way she was glade he asked her to walk the mechanic out. At least it got her away from the others.

With the revving of the custom built engien, The Plummer darted through the mess of lower pipinf purely by memory. Spotting his escort next to the airlock he hit the break hard skidding to a stop. He lifted his goggles up and looked down at the mysterious security officer. "Well your a new face." he called out before sliding down the side of the vehicle. Heading to the levers he began the procedure that would open up the doors to the desert. "So, either this is part of your training or you just wanted to meet the legend up close." Pulling the lever the door began to open and he re-equipeed his shawl and goggles. He put one foot on the ATV and stretched the other out to her. "Ready for the ride of your life." He said with a wink.

Anveena looked at the mechanic and the vehicle he chose to move across the desert. She didn't care much for the vehicles, but they were always better to use in the desert. Didn't take much out of them, and less work with them. She finally climbed into the ATV and waited for him to take off. The jerk alone caused her to reached for the bark to hold on. "Ride is fine," she said as she looked at him. "But I would like to get there in once piece," she said as she looked ahead at the desert. She kept quite for a bit as he drove through the desert. The rising sun bringing down heat before it even hit high in the sky. Living here she didn't care much for, she missed her old home, but her father continued to insest that this was what was best. She sometimes wondered, and the more he grew distant the more she wondered. "So what are you coming out here to fix anywase?" she asked as she finally broke the silence.

James turned into and out of drifts of sand, kicking up speed to get some air before regaining stability. Hey pointed into the distance in responce to the question. "Turbines down. Need to get it opperational before black-outs start happening." Coming to the legs of the turbines James cut the engien and jumped off. "Guess Gary must be sick. Nothing really worth protecting me from out here to be honest, your job is more or less behing my safety anchor." He said handing her a mess of rope grabbing the ladder. "We're on channel one" He said before starting to climb.

Anveena looked at him as he started to climb. She groaned again as she realized fully well that this was nothing but a waist of time. She looked down at the ground, and kicked up some dust as she thought. Maybe her father was getting fed up with dealing with her around the place, or maybe she done something wrong to be stuck out here like this. "Damn," she mumbled as she looked at the turbines. "Babysitting job." Though after saying the words she wondered who was doing the baby sitting. Was it her, or the mechanic. Did he really need her out here to hold ropes, or was she just brought along because he had no choice. She shook her head as she looked away. Reaching for the radio, and brought it up for a moment. "How long will this take? It's hot as hell out here."

Reaching the blades of the turbine he began working on the engien. "Whats the hurry? You got a date? Anveena I'm hurt. I thought we has something special going." He said with a laugh taking off the main casing. Normally what went wrong would be a build up of sand in the servos which would just require a clast from the pressure hose. After looking deep inside he saw the fan belt was loose. "Maybe ten minutes. No need to worry." Suddenly he could hear a number of helecopters approaching from the south and he got on the radio. "Is the facility expecting visitors today. I think we have a few whirly birds heading in from the desert. Whana radio it in just to be safe?"

Anveena gritted her teeth for a moment before looking to the sky as the sound of the helicopters. She clicked the radio back over to the security channel. "Command. We have inbound choppers. Calling in for confirmation?" She waited for a moment, but no one responded. "Command. Come in. Trying to confirm inbound?" she called again, but again there was no contact. "s***," she moaned as she switched the radio back over to the channel James was on. "I've got no responce from the Command," she said as she turned back to look at the sky. She used her hand to shield her eyes from the sun, but couldn't find where the helicopters were coming from. In the desert the sound could echo from anywhere.

As the blades began to turn the wind picked up violently. Working fast so the blades wouldn't fly off James quickly slid down the ladder landing next to Anveena. "Thats no suprise. A sandstorm is picking up and will mess with anything electrical. Follow me, we should head to the generator cabin and wait this out. We wait around here we'll be blind and have to set up a tent which neither of us wants to do." Picking up his equipment he began heading East along the outer ring of the complex which was now invisble due to the sand.
Finding the cabin James pulled out the large key-ring he carried around and pulled open the door to a one room, two story building set up for managing electrical output. Taking off his goggles and shaul he tossed them aside and switched on the AC and tinted the blinds. "Better cozy in. Looks like we may be in here for the long haul. Three hours at the least." He then began searching the room. "I wonder if they have a deck of cards around here.

Anveena moaned slightly at the thought of being stuck in here. She took in consideration how long they would be stuck, and then how much longer it would take to fix the turbine. She sighed a bit as she sat down, and put her elbows on her knees. She was going to miss lunch with father. Resting her head in her hands she stared down at the ground. She cursed about them ever coming to this place it was one thing right after another. She looked up at James as he looked around the room. "Is there any direct line to the dome?" she asked as she stood up. The least she could do was at least call and let him know about not being there. Then there was the helicopters. "I also want to confirm about the choppers."

After setting aside all of his tools and desert apparel, James took out a pair of wire frame glasses and looked up slightly more serious. Not because of the situation but more he couldn't get a rise out of his security detail.
"Communication? Sorry but that's under the control of the 'security' department ever sinbece it was decided it might be more efficient to tear down the lan lines." James went to the wireless smartphone on the wall. "Plumbers can't fix computers." He said letting it drop and rattle on the floor. He then walked up to the security computer station and gave it a slight kick....nothing happened. He scratched his head. "Shouldn't that thing be like...what...booting up or something. He then looked at the fan on the ceiling, clock on the wall. both dead. "So....what do you make of that? Maybe that energy bunny is taking a nap."

Anveena stood up and walked over to the computer. She knelt down and pulled the tower out so she could look at the back. "Everything seems to be together properly." She stood up, and looked at the clock on the wall. "The clock isn't hooked up to a power source. Just battery." She looked around the room, and then to the door. "Couldn't be an emp. We would have heard the explosion?" she asked more than stated. She walked to the door, and put her ear against it. Cursing slightly as she turned around and leaned against it. "Could there be something else that would knock out power?" she asked turning to look at James.

"You're guess is as good as mine. but in my opinion, if you can breed a dog thats white you can also breed a dog black." It was then that he heard it. nothing much but a faint tapping which he clued Anveena on. Slowlouy they both leaned placing their ears to the floor and detected its source. Standing up quickly he headed for the log book shelves and began messing with and looking over the books, moving everything he could find and making a mess. When he felt her questioning eyes on him he turned 180 to respond.
"I forgot, you're an arrival. You didn't grow up with the facility like I did. You live above and I live below in the heart that makes your world glow. This place has a history going all the way back to the cold war. My Uncle said a scientist would be stuck monitoring these stations in these buildings days at a time." He then began pacing. Scratching his chin he looked up.
"That must have been boring." He then opened a log book to show sheets of doodles and drawings. "The people who lived here, even un-known to the men in charge made secret rooms inspired by the Speakeasy's of the pro-hibition era." He then looked around. "Somewheres a switch that will get us under this floor. Help me find a clue."

She nodded in response as she took one side of the room. She looked over the desk that sat in the corner. Moving everything that was there, she even flipped through the pages on the books she looked through. There was a lever here there was no doubt. With a hidden room there had to be a way down. She went to pull the desk from the corner, but it wouldn't budge. She pulled hard, but like any other desk it wouldn't move. She started to pull the drawers loose to see if she could find the switch. There had to be a reason that the desk wasn't moving. Still with the drawers gone she didn't see anything. She laid down on the ground and slid up under the desk. Running her hand along the surface she found that it varied in texture.
Scratching at the surface she found that the softer metal slid back revealing a lever. She pulled the lever, and there was a resounding click. Pulling the lever harder back the floor beneath James slid back slightly. With his help they were able to move the hidden door further open. With the door open the clicking sound was louder. "Now all we have to do is figure out what it's saying."

Jame's saut for a second listening to the ticking and then his eyes went wide. "It's Uncle!" With that said he dropped down into what was a self dug basement within the sub-strucuture. Seeing a few candles he grabbed his own lighter and lit up the room grabbing one for his own and looking up. "All clear, I'll help you down." Anveena looked at him crossly. James looked at his own hands and smiled. "I'll behave...promise." Still she didn't budge causing James to frown heading for the noise.
Passing bottles of Gin and Vodka skattered with dirty mags and log reports he discovered a shelf covered and cobwebs and anchient treasures. Fondling over them like a child he came upon a device from which the noice came, cleared a desk and set the mourse code clicker down. He began to concentrate as he waved at Anveena. "Grab something to write with and I'll translate the code. Uncle is sending an emergency message via old morse code the crazy bastard. Ok QUICK....write this down." James then closed his eyes and relied on his Uncles training.
