Anna nodded and continued to listen to Arc. He seemed almost relieved to be getting all of this off his chest, but she had this biting feeling that this wasn't everything. What boggled her, however, was why he felt the need to seek her out. They knew eachother for less than three or four hours after she and Rich were separated and before the bombs dropped. Fading out a little toward the end of his explanation, she came back when he told her to go back inside. He then went on to offer to go into town to get some things they might need for the remaining 3 days.
She pulled her sleeve of her jacket up to see her watch. Looking out at the now blue tinted yard, she'd turned back to smile at the man.
"I'm wide awake actually. I've got 3 days until help arrives for us. We've got plenty of food and water but I need to get into town for some first aid and some ammunition just incase we get anymore unwanted, undead or mutated, surprises....eh, I doubt we'll find any though," she told him.
Jimmy was asleep finally, resting peacefully after everything that's happened. Her dad was probably pacing around the kitchen or maybe even the hall upstairs, waiting for her to come back inside...a habit he hadn't used since she was a teenage girl out late on a Saturday night. Regardless, she needed to get out and get some stuff and she didn't feel comfortable letting some stranger do it alone, even if he wasn't all human. It's plain rude.
"I need to stretch my legs anyway, c'mon, let's head into town, prolly best if drive half-way though just incase," Anna told him, fishing out her keys from her inner jacket pocket.

The thought that both him and Anna were going into town was a ltitle iffy, considering Arc wasnt entirely sure it if he could be completely open or not when it came to basic survival combat. Whenever he did any looting, or anything like that, he was always alone and didnt have to worry about anybody else. But if Anna could take care of herself, and he could take care of his own self, then they should make a pretty good pair even if they had to split up. "Alright..." Was the only thing that could escape his mouth at the time. They were already walking to the truck, and Arc was getting into the passenger seat. It was the first time he was in any vehicle, except for the RV a few days back, but he was always sleeping, or at least pretending to.
If there had been any soldiers still in the city, and they were banded together enough to still shoot civilians, than it might cause a bit of a problem. Arc wouldnt be able to show his real self to them, so if they started shooting, they would have to die. It was simple as that, and Anna would be caught between it all. Regardless, that was just his worries getting the better of him. "In and out, no problem."

Anna nodded and pointed her thumb in the direction of her home. "Right, I'm gonna go get my things together and grab a bag, give me a sec," she told him, going back into the house. She'd rubbed at the back of her neck, feeling the churning in her stomach. Going back into town was risky as hell but she's dealt with worse, besides with Jimmy not there to worry over, she was able to do alot more.
Grabbing at her Colt, she'd ejected the magazine, checking her ammo and finding only a single bullet used. Slipping it back in, she'd holstered it under her arm and grabbed at her shotgun, also checking to see what she had left for it, not much but four shots. That last magazine was all she had left for her handgun as well.
"Where ya goin'?"
Anna frowned and slung the shotgun over her shoulder, reaching for her recently emptied duffelbag when her father came poking out of the kitchen, as she predicted.
"Goin' into the city. I reckon I'll be able to find some first aid...maybe some more ammo too to last us the next three days," she explained.
"Are you crazy? The city is filled with those...things and the military there pitching tents. Literally and Metaphorically." her father griped.
Anna started for the door, smiling almost cockily. "Yep, I know. Don't worry, I'm just gonna slip in and out...woah, sounds like rape. Anyway just watch Jimmy for me, will ya? I'll be back soon," and with that, she'd left through the door.
Jogging down the porch steps, she'd casually walked across the yard to the old pick-up truck. She threw her bag in the back and got into the driver's seat, slamming the door shut behind her.
"Alright, here's the plan: We're going to drive about, mmm, five miles away from the city, there's an old mechanic's garage that I cleaned out when I first got here. We can store the truck there and walk the rest of the way. There aren't any Military checkpoints there so it'll be safe," she explained, hoping Arc would put in his input.

"Mechanics garage? Sounds like a good place to park as any. Doubt anybody who rolls through would figure out if any of the vehicles there still worked. Who knows, might even find some spare parts we could salvage..." The open minded survivor in him was out now, and his mind was making a checklist of all the places they could hit while in town. The truck was big enough to fill up with a ton of different things, with out a doubt, they would be able to make use of whatevers left. It was in his best interest to hit the pharmacy for sure, it was on the top of his mental notes for personal reasons, but wasnt exactly sure if everything would be already looted or not. It wasnt like the outbreak in town happened years ago, even months ago, it was fairly recently taken by the undead.
When the truck pulled away from the farmland, and through the open wooden fence, Arc peered far past the highbeams in front of them, making sure they werent going to run into anything. There didnt seem to be much of anything for a good distance closer to town, and whenever he did pick up on something, it was far enough away and moving away from them. The engine of the truck wouldnt draw too much attention, it was mostly the gunshots that cast the sound far enough away to lead walkers to the sound. However, and in all honesty, Arc didnt think they were even going to be using any firearms on this little adventure. Sure, he was well prepared to combat just about anything that got in his way, but if they had every infected in town after them, he wasnt sure if he could get Anna out safely had things gotten too bad.

[Arc and Anna...are...in the make-believe mechanic's garage]
The entire drive to the mechanic's had been pretty awkward and quiet. With the sun fully risen in the sky and the lack of Air Conditioner in the old pick up, it was pretty hot out even with the window down.
Anna sighed and kept her eyes out on the road before she'd noticed the small, blue painted building coming into view. She'd shrugged her jacket off and let if slip down onto her seat when she'd glanced over at Arc.
"Might be pretty smelly in there, there were two dead guys there before I bumped them off. That, plus the heat...yeah, it's gonna smell like ass," she told the man, bluntly. When she'd pulled into the front of the garage doors, she'd parked, cutting the engine and undoing herseatbelt.
Before long, she'd been pulling open the compartment under the dashboard, pulling three plugs out and placing them in her side pouch. "Just incase. Don't want anyone hotwiring my ride." she said, climbing out of the back.
Slamming the door shut, she locked her and Arc's, then grabbed her bag from the back and threw it over her shoulder. She had a mental list in her head for what she needed, how much and where the military blockades were. She was a little concerned with the idea of how infested the city might have been. Infact, she had this horrible, gut wrenching feeling that there was a strong possibility that there were more military than actual zombies.
Anna didn't have a problem putting them down, no emotional problem anyway. The lack of ammunition, however, was another story. Every shot she'd make, she'd have to make it count.

The smell had been powerful, even before getting out of the truck, at least to him anyways. He could pinpoint the time of death, and the rate of decomposition, but it wasnt something that Anna would like to hear, so he kept it to himself. Moving to the large steel door, he found it was locked when he pulled on it, but didnt care either way. Pulling just a little bit harder broke the lock, and then Arc pushed up the shutter to reveal the mess inside. A crude combination of motor oil and death, not the best two scents to be picked up.
Looking around the place quickly, Arc noticed a good number of tools they could make some use out of, but then again, everything they found could be used one way or another. A boat had its use, but they werent going to lug that back. Most of the tools could stay here, nobody would bother rooting through this place to scavenge them, but if they did need any for whatever reason, this would be the first place to go on his list.
"Think it might be best if you tell me where we need to go, and we can hit the deeper in parts first. That way if we run into trouble, we can get it out of the way, so were not stuck with it on the way back out with our supplies..." From the sounds of things, it would be more trouble then he wanted, because a series of gunshots could be heard coming from inside town. "Fully automatic... Military sub machine guns, two sets of them. One being fired by somebody who knows what hes doing, the other by a civilian." His pinpointed accusation was a skill he picked up over the time he had control of himself, and he was already right when it came to his guesses.

Anna wrinkled her nose at the smell of hot death. The bodies of the infected mechanic and two civilians she had to put down, had been sealed away in what was practically a hot, metal, box for two days straight and she was paying for it now.
While she waved a hand around her face, an attempt to bat away the scent, Arc mentioned the sounds of SMGs being fired by what he assumed were military and a civilian. Then went on to ask where she needed to get to first.
"Well, I'm not worried about the military honestly. Not saying I'm a cocky b*tch but I have experience ducking away from them to avoid any mishaps," she explained, emerging from the garage to the outside. She'd taken in a bigger whiff of fresh air, trying to push back her dinner from last night.
"Actually, tackling a lone military hold out would help, bet they've got some ammo to spare...I doubt the gunshop in town will have anything. Besides that, I need to get to a Pharmacy. Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, whichever we find first," she told Arc.
As they began to wander down the road to town, she'd contemplated whether or not to cut through the tracks to save a brush with the military. Not too long after, she'd thought against it. No doubt the military would set up camps outside of town to sleep atleast a little safely.
"I don't know...where do you think we have a better shot of getting to first?" she asked, wanting Arc's opinion.

Another large burst of gunfire could be heard deeper inside town, and then Arc explained what he thought to be the best course of action. "Away from them. They keep shooting, drawing those walkers close to them. We can use that as a distraction while he gather what we can and get out of there. For now, lets just keep moving further in, whatever we come across first will do as a good first stop." Plain daylight wasnt how he liked to travel because it was harder to stay out of sight from public forces, but knew that moving at dark would be worse because of the infected. Given his experience with both, it was either or, and it would be easier to gather supplies in the daylight. Plus they were already here now, and Arc wasnt going to wait around for the military to draw the attention of every walker in a four mile radius.
The back streets were all closed off with cars and the like, but the gunfire was still quite a ways off. Even a good handful of the infected were moving past them and going straight for the gunfire, which meant the plan was working well enough. The pharmacy was closest to the center of town, and Arc knew that what he was looking for probably wouldnt be looted. "The pharmacy." he spoke out in a low voice, "In and out." It was a worthy first stop when gathering supplies, but hopefully they wouldnt need to make use of what they scavenged during their time here in town.
However, hitting the front entrance was unlucky. The bars were down over the doorway, which meant they needed to get to the back ally and find a way inside through an office or something. "Lets move through the back, you lead, I follow." The entire time, Arc had been paying attention to the gunshots, which were now just one or two blocks away from them. But they were moving further back, not toward them, which was fortunate. The back door had the knob missing from it, which meant it would take a good amount of strength, or a set of smaller hands, to get it open. Arc let his female companion do the job. As they got inside, he quickly turned his attention away from the gunfire, and spoke out in a quiet tone to Anna. "S*it..."
Not a second later, five men stood up from behind the counter and out from cover, holding a variety of guns toward them, and instantly threatened to fire if they didnt drop their own. "Pieces on the ground, or imma blow you to pieces!" If Arc wasnt focusing on the gunfire outside, he wouldve seen this coming, but now they had to figure out a way around it. It was a bit of a situation, even for him, because it meant that worst case scenario, he would need to expose himself to more people.

The Tricell MC-130H Talon had ran through its landing sequence and put itself down a few miles outside of Cynthiana (sin-thee-anna), KY. Kristine stepped out the back of the blacked-out bird and was hit with cold wind that cut straight to the bone. Snow fell gently everywhere but none of it had begun sticking to the ground yet. She raised her hood and watched her breath as she exhaled. It'd been so long since she was in cold weather that she actually missed it. Looking around she got her bearings on her location. A field behind an old office building she remembered closing when she was in middle school. Kristine was actually surprised she had landed as close to her destination as she had. She was grateful to the machine for its accuracy and endurance. Kristine set off toward a road that she remembered was named after someone. It took her a minute but she finally recalled the name; Carl Stephens Rd. She hopped a fence, turned left and headed toward Highway 36. She turned left again and headed uphill toward Lakeview Dr. She didn't know why she was heading toward her old boyfriend's house. She didn't really expect him to be there but it was her first instinct and she knew the Kroric's had always been prepared for the end of the world. At the very least she hoped she could find some equipment, and maybe a place to sleep for the night. Kristine hadn't given it a lot of thought until she actually heard a vehicle approaching but up to that point there had been no movement other than her own at all. No vehicles, no people, no animals, nothing. Just as she had this realization a black SUV popped over the hill coming from the direction of town. She had just turned into Lakeview and stopped to see what the deal was when the vehicle crammed on its brakes. The driver turned the Chevy on spot and started heading in her direction. A sinking feeling filled her stomach. She didn't need to see the occupants of the vehicle to know who they were. Tricell had probably been following the Talon's GPS all the way to middle-of-no-where Cynthiana. She turned on spot and started running, but it did little good against the 300 hp engine roaring behind her. Just as it passed her and attempted to cut her off she dipped off the road and into someone's back yard, she hopped a fence and then another. Behind her she could hear Tricell operatives shouting at her. She was in the open again as she turned left onto Lakeside Dr. the Chevy turned the corner around a stop sign with tires squalling. Kristine slid under a pine tree then crawled into a weather drain that ran under the road. It was big enough for her to crab-walk through until she made it to the other side. After a five foot drop she was encased in underbrush that surrounded a small creek that ran between the back yards of the homes on the far end of Lakeview, and Hopi Drives. Kristine stayed low and tried her best to remain quiet. Her lungs burned, and her muscles ached. She wasn't use to this type of physical output and it didn't help that it was cold out. She made her way down the creek until she could see the back of the Kroric's home. She peeked out from cover and tried to get a headcount on those following her she could see a couple checking the brush, one on each road, and another overseeing from back at the vehicle. She made a mad dash for the house when she felt the safest but one of them caught a glimpse of her and called out to the others. She made it around to the far side of the home and climbed up vine grating. She was almost onto the roof when one of the guards grabbed her foot. She screamed and kicked a few times before connecting her boot to his face. His grip vanished and she made it onto the roof and kicked down the grating onto the operative. She checked her old boyfriend's window on the second floor and like always it was open. She crawled in and slammed the window shut and locked behind her. From the floor below she could hear the Tricell chasers bust through the front door. Kristine slammed her body against the bedroom door and locked it before backing herself into a corner. Her legs gave out on her and she slid down against the wall on the far side of his bed. She was struggling to breath at this point and tears began swelling up in her eyes. She didn't want to go back to Tricell. She couldn't go back, she'd already come this far. What would he do? She thought. "We keep the front door locked for their protection. They break into this house, the real danger is in here." His voice echoed from the depths of her memory, and set a fire into her heart. She could hear them coming up the stairs now, but she was NOT going back to them. Kristine pulled her FN Five-Seven from her bag. She aimed at the door with blurry tear filled eyes. She'd never killed a person but she WAS going to shoot at the next person that came through the door.

Eli had stolen the information this morning, the name that was red flagged by many of the reports that they had stolen was Kristine Webber. Within minutes they had been tapped into Tricell's database and pulled up everything Tricell had before making it their belongings before deleting it off their database. They then had files from all parts of her life pulled up, past boyfriends, past homes, past everything and knew by the way people typically acted that she was going to hide out at her boyfriend, Joshua's house in Kentucky. He was lucky when he found the house and that there was no one inside. While he listened in and watched Tricell's tracking of their stolen MC-130H Talon as he slipped into the Kroric residence.
Sure enough the stupid Tricell operatives were cutting her off on her way to the house. He simply waited since he knew that as soon as he thought it she gave them the slip. Soon enough the window in the room across from the one he was hiding, Joshua's room, was opened and the door was closed and locked. Seconds later, the front door burst open and a half dozen operatives came up the stairs. Eli took their backs to him as a chance to get the jump on them.
He unsheathed his knife and grabbed the one leading the group up the stairs and put him between himself and the group. The group was caught off guard and turned to take on the new more lethal threat. "You guys are true idiots. You could have caught her here but instead you tried catching her on the road. She gave you boys the slip at your fortress and you thought you could get her? You know she stole a gun and a bow and is waiting for you to enter that room. Someone would have been shot which means that you would have been forced to shoot back which would have ****ed whoever gave the orders which means you all probably would be shot after the news was given." he said before he unholstered his his FN Five seveN and took out each man with a perfect head shot. He then slit the throat of the man he was currently holding hostage.
He then made his way to the top of the stairs where a few men were surprised by Eli. Eli let off a few more shots, killing these men. The radios lit up as they all were calling each other and HQ trying to get back up in as soon as possible. Eli went down the stairs and reloaded his pistol. It was easy to clear out the first floor and the outside since he definitely had the drop on them. He then turned to head back upstairs to check on his new friend. With a knock on the door he called out to her, "Kristine? It is safe to come out for now, but back up will be coming in soon so I would appreciate it if you came with me to get out of here safely."

Kristine felt herself go numb as a firefight broke out in the house. Her hands shook. She had no clue what was happening below. For a split second she imagined Joshua was down stairs protecting her, taking out the Tricell thugs. Hell it could have been Jonathan, or Stewart for all she knew. But she quickly shut down the feeling there was no chance they would be around. They would have gone into survival mode once the crap hit the fan. They split just like the rest of the people in the area did. So who were they fighting with? Each other?
Thats when she realized the fighting had stopped. Footsteps could be heard coming up the stairs, then a knock at the door. She trembled and tried to keep the gun steady, her aim trained on the door. She panicked, her eyes were still full of tears, but she didn't dare remove her hands from the gun, or her finger from the trigger. I cant see a thing how am I going to be able to shoot anything? And as if on queue the same effect that cleaned out her eyes of dust back in the Tricell vents happened again. A line went across her vision and cleared up her sight. She suddenly remembered the Metatron nano-machines. Had they cleared away the tears for her?
"Kristine?" She didnt have time to wonder, someone knew her name outside the door. "It is safe to come out for now, but backup will be coming soon so I would appreciate it if you came with me to get out of here safely." Who was on the other side of the door? Was it a rouse? The Tricell chasers trying to trick her?
"Bulls***! Who are you? How do you know my name?" She cried. She wasnt about to just trust anyone. She'd been gone too long, no one knew where she was going other than Tricell. How could anyone have known? It simply made no sense to her.

Eli heard a lot of chatter on the radio about back up. Three minutes was all he was being given before a caravan of soldiers, the closest swat team, a Tricell attack helicopter and a police helicopter were on their way. It seemed that Tricell could get local law to help them but the military was harder to convince. He knew fast acting, faster convincing, and fastest driving would be the easiest way out of this alive. He turned back to the door and started to explain himself while pulling a paper from a pocket on his vest. The paper was a list of Tricell's most wanted with her name on the top. He then removed a few more papers with their reasons for wanting her alive and any info either Tricell or his tech guy had gathered. After he had them all out, he crammed them under the door.
"My name is Eli Sanderson. I am an enemy of organizations such as Tricell, as you would see if you opened the door. I know your name and all this info about you because I stole it from Tricell this morning. I also gathered my own info in order to find you. If you don't believe me you might want to come out, shoot me, then take their SUV, and drive away. Since I won't hurt you and they will be here in a minute."
Eli stood at the door waiting for an answer. He was ready with his M4A1 if a decision wasn't made fast enough. It was going to get ugly sharpish even if they got into a vehicle now. Through a window he could see the vehicles and the helicopters closing in. Eli decided before he left he was going to leave his calling card. He went to the refrigerator and rearranged the letter magnets to spell out "Emil" before using blood to make the "y" and leaving a perfect fingerprint. This made sure it would be noticed by the right people.

Kristine silently made her way to the door as Eli explained himself. She picked up the papers and started looking through them. Her heart sank. Everything in them was true and accurate. She folded them up and stuffed them into her jacket. She spun on spot as the looked around the room. She was grasping for something, anything to help her make up her mind. It was then she noticed the lettters lying on Joshua's desk. She picked them up and looked them over. They were from Joshua, to Stewart; his father, and Jonathan; his brother. From the first line she gathered that he had joined the military. She wanted to cry again but she willed them away and the Metatron bots did their job of clearing them up.
"No more tears," she whispered silently. She stuffed the letters into a pocket with the papers from Eli. If he was fighting, she was going to do the same. She opened the doors and headed down the stairs and found Eli as he put the finishing touch on his refrigerator art. "If we leave now we can take the back exit out of the neighborhood. It will send us across a field and over onto Carl Stephen's near where the Talon landed." With a second thought she added one more line before going on the move.
"If your really out to put down Tricell. Then I'm with you. I just hope you aren't lying to me."

Eli listened to the girl's plan before shaking his head. They wouldn't make it very far on foot. "We take their vehicle, I will call in support which will help use make a getaway." he explained to her as he headed toward the SUV. He hopped into the driver's side and put the pedal to the metal. He could see the helicopters coming after them in his rear view mirror while one of the SUVs stopped at the house. It was soon with the group again, catching up with Eli.
He was practically driving blind since he didn't know where they were going. "Do you know how to get to the highway?" he said getting ready to switch seats with her.

The two loaded into the SUV and got back onto highway 36 heading North-West Tricell closing in behind them. Kristine was noticing Eli's slightly erratic driving not that he wasn't good at handling a vehicle, but it was obvious he didn't know the course and wasn't getting them any further away from their pursuers.
"Do you know how to get to the highway?"
The hacker thought the question was a bit funny considering they were on a highway. But then again it was a hick-town Kentucky highway nothing more than a backroad to people from most of the states. She assumed he was looking for something like the interstate and they would intersect I-75 toward the end of 36. "Of course," she answered, butterflies building in her stomach afraid of what came next.
They rounded a sharp corner before entering a straight away next to Bowman Farms. Eli proposed they switch places since Kristine knew the area better. So they did with very little finesse. It had been a while since Kristine drove but she became familiar very quick. Butterflies continued to flutter as she stepped on the accelerator, however the Tricell goons began losing ground. A series of curves was coming up and she almost went numb with fear when she felt as if she was going to fast. It was then that a memory of Josh and Lucas sprang into her mind the two had been street racers for a while and took it upon themselves to teach her their 'elite skills' one night. They showed her how to pull off an E-brake slide, how to drive through corners twice as fast, and how to control the car under several emergency loads. She thought it was all for show until she realized that she'd be needing those skills now.
Muscle memory, fear, and quite a bit of luck allowed the hacker to dance the heavy SUV though curves at mind boggling speed. G-forces pulled at everything inside the cabin but she paid attention to none of it. As long as all four tires remained on the asphalt she would keep her foot on the gas. A quick glance at the rear view mirror showed that the other vehicles couldn't match her speed, however the helicopter could still be heard over head.
"It may be 20 minutes until we make it to a main road, and this thing is likely rigged with a GPS. You got any plan to get us out of this?" She could run all she wanted but once they got on an open road unless they could ditch the car Tricell would be able to run them down, or simply watch the GPS. "Didnt you say something about backup?"
