Amelia stayed silent for a moment, thinking about what to do.
"Well, we could at least try to interrogate him. The bastard deserves to die either way, so you can just go ahead and execute him if you prefer."
Allison cut in, "I think I'd like the help with that."
Amelia continued speaking, "We've still got those two houses that are further up the mountain, the ones with the lights on. We should check them out, hopefully one of them has an entrance, but I can't shake the feeling that these houses are just decoys. Either that or just plain old housing for the Tricell soldiers that patroll the mountains."

The main reason Arc had been trying to get out of interrogating the man was because he might frenzy. However, it might be a good idea to at least try, maybe the medication he was given would have some other effect that the Doctor hadnt known about. It was all experimental either way, so there wasnt any harm in trying. If he did get outta hand, thankfully he could trust the people around him to deal with the changes, and hopefully restrain him with what Amelia had. "Yeah, those two houses up the mountain might have people in them that know about the entrance. If not, it would be a good idea to check it out anyways. How about you and Katy check them out, while Allison and I go wake up the scientist?"
Before hearing any response, Arc sensed there was movement somewhere within the mile radius, and it was infected. He didnt let the others know because it wasnt even close to getting here get, it would just get them paranoid, waiting for something to come, distract them. However, he didnt know if the group had decided the plan or not, his ears had fogged out for a minute.

"Sounds good to me," Katy said, shrugging.
"Alright, then. You two go take care of business with the scientist. Katy and I will hike our way up to the next houses. When you're finished here, meet us up there," Amelia told Arc. He didn't seem to respond, he was looking off into the forest with a blank stare. "Arc?" she prodded, leaning in forward. Raising her voice, "Arc!" she said loudly, snapping her fingers infront of his face. His eyes snapped back to her. "You okay?" she asked. He nodded.
Amelia walked past Allison, discretely handing her a syringe full of sedative and blood thinner. Katy drew her machete and took lead, hiking up the steep mountain side, Amelia following closely behind, pointing her MP9 straight ahead.
Allison tapped Arc on the arm with the back of her hand to get his attention before walking back toward the house to interrogate the scientist.

As he was snapped back into reality, Arc seen Katy and Amelia hiking up the mountain, and it became clear that the plan had been as it was said. Looking back to the forest quickly, he finally blinked, and than looked at Allison, speaking up. "No, im far from it..." That being said, he moved back toward the building in which the man had been laying out cold. As he got closer to the building, Allisons footsteps had gotten louder and louder, and it was really getting on his nerves. Looking back to her, he seen that she had actually kept a distance, and that was when things really clicked into him. "Somethings... Different..."
Upon reaching the door, Arc opened it up, and than felt his vision get a little blurry. It wasnt anything hes experienced before, it only lasted a quick second, almost like he was sensing something and it was being transmitted to him physically. Kicking open the door, Arc felt like there was something happening, and before he could react, a knife came swinging out from the house, cutting open his arm. He felt the pain, for the first time in a long time, but his reactions kicked in, and he grabbed forward for the man. Twisting his arm back, the knife dropped to the ground, and than Arc spun around and elbowed him outside onto the ground where Allison had been aiming her gun.

Allison glanced back after Arc's delayed response, Amelia and Katy now too far away to hear him. Allison gave him a look that implied that he needed to watch himself. The two of them walked up to the front of the shack where they had left the scientist. Arc kicked in the door and stepped inside. Less than two steps in, the scientist lunged at Arc with his own knife, slashing open Arc's arm down near to the bone. Allison jolted backward, startled. Arc immediately retaliated, grabbing the scientist by the arm, twisting it, and throwing him out onto the dirt ground outside. Allison whipped her revolver out from it's holster and aimed it at the man from roughly 3 feet away. The man hit the ground hard, grunting. He immediately whipped out a small, compact 9mm pistol, aiming it at Allison. Before he could fire, Allison thrusted her leg forward, slamming the toe of her boot into the man's hand. The pistol flew out of the scientist's grasp. Allison lunged forward, punching the man square in the face, then knelt down and grabbed the arm that Arc had previously twisted. Allison slid her combat knife out of it's sheeth on her thigh and whipped it around to a reverse grip, jamming the serrated blade through the back of the man's upper arm, under the his shoulder blade. He yelped out in pain, attempting to throw a punch with his remaining uninjured arm. Allison caught the man's fist and twisted it, exposing his elbow. Allison swiftly slammed her fist against the man's elbow, snapping the bone and dislocating his arm. She then slammed her own elbow into the man's already twice-broken nose.
The man lay in the dirt, immobilized. He was tough for just being a scientist, Allison would give him that. Allison shoved her revolver against the man's neck, "Okay, so this is going to go one of two ways. Either you're going to cooperate with me and tell me where the entrance is to the underground facility, or I'm going to break the remaining two hundred or so other bones in your body until you do. Either way, this is going to end the same way."
The scientist lifted his head and spit in her face. Allison smiled, wiping her cheek with the back of her hand, then reached for the handle of her combat knife, lodged under the man's shoulder blade, and twisted it. The man yelped out in pain again. Allison stood up and looked back at Arc, "Your turn," she told him.

Holding onto his arm, Arc felt the pain. It was almost as if the drug given to him from the doctor had completely prevent the virus inside of him from being active, and he was more human than before. At least, it blocked out the numbing of his pain, that he could once again feel full blown now. Feeling the warm, thick blood coating his fingers, it went away once the healing process already started taking effect. As Allison had control over the situation, his first instinct was to go inside the house and grab his knife, which had been laying at the end of an obvious trail of blood. This wasnt just a scientist, mustve been a mercenary, he attacked with that knife like a pro. The cut had been clean, and deep, no ordinary coat would be able to accomplish that.
Sheathing his knife, he walked back outside, and just as Allison was finished, she let the man go at Arcs disposal now. At first, Arc really didnt want to risk him getting too combat high and frenzy. However, they needed information, and he was going to try and get that information, even if it put Allison at risk. Maybe she wasnt quite aware of his condition, and how dangerous it was, but someone, it didnt matter. Grabbing the man by the collar with one hand, Arc raised him up into the air, and than looked at him with red eyes, gazing into his. "Just do it... Youll thank me later..." The man kept his mouth closed, not seeming fazed by the threat, regardless of the red eyes or menacing tone.
Than, Arc place both of his hands on the mans skull, and held him up into the air using just his fingers at this point. Now pressing tighter and tighter, the man had started to moan, and his body was beginning to fall limp in the air. "Talk..." Keeping the pressure at this point, Arc waited for the man to speak, but he was on the verge of passing out, but still he refused to speak. Finally letting go of the pressure, the man retaliated by trusting his knee into Arcs chest, but the soldier never flinched. Again, he did the same, and again, but nothing each time. The mans hands than grasped Arcs arm, and began beating on it violently, but thats when the man screamed out in pain.
Arcs thumb had entered the mans eye, and he was now holding him up with just single hand over the side of his head. The man twitched in the air, gurgling from the intense shock of pain. But it was already too late, his thumb had entered the mans brain, and he was just a bag of meat by this point. Grasping his his hand tightly now, half of the mans face was crushed and ripped apart, and than a thud hit the ground, Arc still holding part of a skull in his hand. Now crushing it even further, he threw the pieces onto the ground, and spoke out to Allison, breathing heavily. His eyes were so red youd think heat was coming off of them. "Theye too stupid to talk... But it was worth a try."

Allison knelt down by the man's corpse and pulled her knife from his back, sliding it into her sheath.
"Looks like we'll have to find the entrance ourselves," Allison said, back facing Arc. She spit on his corpse, payback for when he spit at her earlier. Allison turned around to face Arc, then noticed that he was bleeding profusely from his arm. Blood was seeping through this clothing and had begun to pool along the edge of his shoe on the ground.
"Woah, jesus christ, are you alright?" she asked him. She remembered that Arc had been injected with blood thinners recently, which would make him bleed faster and longer, preventing the blood from clotting and the wound from closing. "I think we should get Amelia."
~~~
Katy chopped her way through the flora and up to the next level area where the remaining two houses were. Amelia gazed over the edge. She noticed Allison trying to get her attention from the bottom of the ledge. Allison, now nothing more than a small dot against the mountain side, was yelling for her, but Amelia couldn't quite understand what she was saying. All she could make out were the words "bleeding" and "help". Amelia recognized the frantic tone Allison's voice carried, and knew something was wrong, especially considering the word "bleeding" was said.
Amelia tapped Katy on the arm and she turned around to look over the edge, as well. "There's something wrong, we've gotta head back dow-" before Amelia could finish speaking, a rustling from the bushes could clearly be heard behind them, followed by the sound of a gun cocking. Katy whipped around to find three Tricell operatives taking aim, ready to fire. The first soldier opened fire, breaking the silence. Katy grabbed Amelia by the waist and shoved the both of them to the ground, sliding over the edge and into the dense flora. Bullets continued whizzing over their heads, planting themselves into trees and branches. Amelia and Katy stumbled through the shrubbery and weaved in between the trees, heading back down the mountain side toward Allison and Arc. In front of Amelia, Katy tripped over a tree root and tumbled to the ground, getting lost in the momentum and sliding down the mountain slope. Amelia lost her balance and did the same, tumbling down the hill after Katy.
They tumbled to the ground infront of Arc and Allison. The Tricell operatives were perched at the top of the hill and began concentrating their fire at the group. "Sh*t!" Amelia yelled, "Get to cover!".
"That place is known for heavy Tricell activity, I know that from my own personal experience. Lads no older than yourself, most of em are mercenaries. It would be wise to come prepared if your gonna try to get in there..." The old man spoke out to Hal, friendly when he asked about what kind of security is around the entrance to the lab not far from the house. "Do you think youll be alright?" Richard thought about it, the time of night, and the surrounding area of the camp. "Well, that really all depends... Do they have a sniper rifle?"
~~~
"This? No, its nothing..." But clearly Allison cared about him, because without letting him finish, she called out to Amelia, who had been almost too far away for anything. Arc thought why the woman cared, even if he really was in pain or not, she shouldnt really be worrying about him. But at the same time, it was interesting to notice a character trait with some people who are obviously battle hardened, still retaining their sense of urgency when it came to the people around them being in danger.
Shots rang off up the mountainside, and before Arc ran to investigate, it seemed the two had been pushed down by three other people. When the bullet began to whiz by him and the others now, Arc immediately dove forward behind a tree, pressing his back against it. "Keep in cover, let them come to us." The four of them had all been hidden, and when the gunfire ceased, Arc listened for their footsteps to get close enough to be in range. Just then, a gunshot rang out, and one of the three Tricell soldiers had fallen. He wasnt sure who took the shot, as it wasnt any of the four of them. It mustve been somebody else, which made it even more stressful. "Move! Now!"

Amelia and Katy regained their footing and ran for the closest shack, taking cover on the wall opposite to the mountain side. Arc took cover behind a tree and Allison dove toward another, catching a bullet to the thigh. Allison collapsed into the dirt, grunting in pain, and quickly dragged herself behind a tree, leaning her back against it. "Son of a b*tch," Allison exclaimed in anger, grabbing her leg in pain.
Allison and Arc, roughly fifteen feet away from Amelia and Katy, took cover behind a cluster of trees. Bullets continued whizzing by at both groups from the top of the mountain. The soldiers were clearly using automatic rifles equiped with night scopes. Suddenly, a gunshot coming from another origin rang out and one of the half-dozen soldiers perched at the top of the mountain keeled over the edge. Allison and Arc glanced over at Amelia and Katy, it was clearly none of them who had taken the shot. They looked around for a shooter, but there was none to be seen. Suddenly, a second soldier keeled over dead, then a third. The remaining three soldiers ceased fire and backed out of sight, no doubt to resposition.
Amelia peeked around the corner, it seemed safe enough for the moment. She beckoned to Allison and Arc, telling them to move up to the shack. Allison struggled to get up, unable to stand on her own.

When the scene went calm, it was pretty obvious as this point that everything had been safe now. Least for the time being. Chances are, they werent going to find that shooter, and with the blood loss, Arc couldnt focus on where it was coming from either. Sitting down against the tree now, he watched as Katy and Amelia went to Allisons side, checking on her gunshot wound.
"I dont think this is going to work out quite as we planned. Getting inside this place seemed a lot easier when we talked about it in the chopper, we dont even know where to start looking. Theres not a whole lot we can do at this point. But, he did accomplish something, and thats clearing the area, so the next plan would be to head back to the house, we can treat Allison better there, right?" The whole time he spoke, Arc had been neglectant of his own wound, didnt want anybody to worry about him. Just as before, things would recover on their own, eventually, he didnt really care about the blood loss. It didnt hurt anymore, so it didnt matter in the long run. Standing back up, he walked over to the other three, and then spoke out in a more straight forward tone. "Lets head back..."

Amelia examined Allison's wound. "You're in luck," she told Allison.
"Really... not feeling so lucky," Allison replied snarkily.
"Believe me, you're luckier than you know. It's just a flesh wound, you'll be fine after I bandage you up, but if the bullet had hit your femur, the pain would be exponentially worse and you would likely lose your ability to walk. If the bullet had severed your femoral artery, you likely would have gone into shock, lost consciousness, then bled out and died, so I'd say you're pretty lucky."
"Oh," Allison said, quieting down while Amelia applied a tourniquet.
The group listened to Arc speak.
"Arc's right, we're clearly in over our heads," Amelia said. "And you're gonna be suffering from a pretty bad limp for awhile," she added, looking at Allison.
Allison nodded in agreement.
When Arc stood up, Amelia noticed what Allison was trying to get her attention for later. Arc's shirt was soaked in blood. Amelia fixed her eyes on the giant bleeding gash on his arm. "What the hell happened to you!?" Amelia said, getting to her feet. "Arc, sit down. Right now. Whatever the virus is doing to you, it's not gonna stop you from bleeding out. Is all that blood yours?" she asked, referring to his blood-soaked clothing. Without waiting for a response, she grabbed his arm and applied pressure with a white rag before retrieving another tourniquet from her satchel, then wrapping it around his arm. "You're lucky you're even still conscious."
She examined the wound, it was deeper than she had anticipated, almost completely through to the bone. "Apply pressure and do not stop, Katy and I need to help Allison walk."
Katy and Amelia picked up Allison by her arms, acting as a crutch and helping her limp. "Let's get back to the house."

"Yeah, yeah..." Arc held onto the thing on his arm, and then twisted it on even tighter so that it would stop the bleeding even more. Tying it off where it was at, he scouted ahead of the others, just to be sure there hadnt been any roaming infected. He would be the first to notice, and would rather be the first to get attacked if the dogs got the first jump on them. With each step, his arm seemed to tingle with pain and a numbness, thobbing, some sort of reaction he wasnt familliar with on this level. But Arc wasnt thinking about that right now, he needed to get back to the house with Allison and the others, make sure she was alright.
As the group arrived at the door, Arc opened it up, and then moved back down off the patio. "Get inside, im going to check the parimiter, just in case..." After the girls had gotten inside, Arc closed over the door, and than aimed his AUG around the front yard. After he was satisfied it wasnt needed, he slung it tightly across his back. But he couldnt sense anything, nothing for at least a mile around. It was than that his arm had a jolt of pain. Arc didnt make any audible sound, but he ripped everything off to expose his flesh. It was purple and sickly in color, and appeared to be coming from his veins. From the side of the house, he turned back to move to the front, but felt dizzy, and fell to the ground not a minute later.

Amelia and Katy held Allison up by her arms and helped her limp into the house, shutting the door behind them. "Anybody home?" Amelia called out, echoing through the building. There was no answer. Katy and Amelia helped Allison onto the sofa.
Amelia adjusted Allison's tourniquet, then covered the wound in gauze, applying pressure. "Katy, hold this down. Keep the pressure," Amelia told her. "I'll be back to bandage you up in a few minutes," she said to Allison.
Amelia walked back through the living room and opened exited the house through the front door, shutting it behind her. "Arc?" she called out. She glanced around the yard, finding that Arc was collapsed onto the ground. Amelia ran over to him, kneeling down, checking his pulse. It wasn't strong, Arc was unconscious. She gazed down upon his arm, it was a sickly purple color, and was still bleeding rather profusely. Arc had removed the tourniquet, so the blood flow was no longer restricted. "Damnit!" she cursed, shoving a handful of gauze against the wound. "Arc! Wake up!"
He was unresponsive. Amelia pulled a bottle of water from her satchel and flicked water at Arc's face, while nudging his arm, attempting to ease him back into consciousness.

Hearing the voices from downstairs, Richard got up from the bed, and than grabbed his shotgun from the floor. Heading down the stairs very silently, he aimed the shotgun into the living room entrance, and seen two ladies walking around. Coming up from behind, Richard lowered the shotgun, and than spoke out, trying not to startle them but obviously failing to do so. "Professor Halbreds in the bird outside sleeping... Back so soon, are we?" Before either of them spoke, Richard came out again with another sentence. "...No, its something else, you came to bother me, right?"
~~~
The inside of the chopper had been soundproofed, no noise could get inside, hence why a headset wasnt needed to speak inside while it was in the air. Laying down in the back spread out on the seat, Hal was pecking away at his laptop, going over some research documents and files on his external hard drive. Some of them had been about the Lab that Arc and the others were going to right now, it was too bad they already left before he thought about digging them up from the folders. Judging by the location of the entrance, however, the group would need to do some serious thinking if they were going to find it on their own, and even with that, a passcode had to be entered. They would come back if they couldnt get in, but until then, Hal needed sleep.
Katy and Allison looked up at the man speaking to them.
"Okay," Katy began. "I'll go let Amelia know where Hal is."
"Allison," Katy added, now looking at her. "Hold the gauze yourself for a minute, be right back."
Katy helped Allison's hand onto the gauze, then walked for the front door. She peeked out the front door, "Amelia, Hal is out in the cho-". She cut herself off when she saw Allison hunched over Arc's body on the ground. "What happened?!" Katy exclaimed, shutting the door behind her and rushing to Amelia's aid. Amelia didn't respond, she was frantically ripping everything out of her satchel. "Amelia?" Katy prodded, grabbing her arm.
"Sh*t, sh*t, I don't know what to do. I didn't see him fall unconscious... he's already on blood thinners, his arm is turning purple-- hell, I don't even know if this is why he's unconscious in the first place-- where's Hal?" Amelia mumbled, cramming everything into one sentence.
"In the chopper."
Amelia dropped everything and ran for the helicopter. She slammed her fists against the helicopter doors, "Hal, open up, hurry!"
When the door slid open, Amelia spoke frantically. "Get out here, hurry, I need your help. Arc's unconscious."
