"Oh God. Madison watch out!"
Sam had her pistol up and firing at the two closest undead near Madison. She had to get through and they had to get to the landing pads. They weren't going to be able to shoot their way through all of the zombies, but they could get some breathing room if nothing else.
"Madison cover! I'm coming through!"

While she knew that landing a headshot would bring down on me of the shells of a former human, Madison wasn't so sure of her aim with the pistol. She had trained with it a fair amount, but in the heat of the situation, stressed, and most of all the lack of ammunition, there wasn't all too much she could do but try. Dear of hitting Sam was up on the list too, but she was quick, and the undead were slow, so it did give her a little more leeway in her aim.
One shot after another, she fired at the closest, not sure how good of a job she was doing but knew it was at least helping, even if only a little bit. The click from her gun was the end of it, but by that time, Sam had been clear, and the two women made their route toward the helicopter.
The blades spun at full speed now. Vega knew the engines were working properly, and he knew how to get it off the ground on manual control. Luckily there hasn't been any other obstacles in their way, but those thoughts quickly left his mind when he realized there wasn't any wood to knock on. Seeing the TerraSave agents approaching with a hoarde of infected behind them was plan enough. Stepping out of the seat, Vega slid open the door on the right, extending his arm. He would have hollered to them, but at this point, it was all pretty obvious, not could they hear him anyways.

"Go! Keep going Madison!"
Sam wasn't sure if the other woman could hear her over the combined noise of the dead behind them and the helicopter blades. She turned and fired at the closest two infected, killing one and making the other stumble, which in turn knocked down the ones closest behind it. That would buy them some time to get to the helicopter, but would it buy them enough time to take off?
There was only one way to find out, and adrenaline spurred her on as the safety of the helicopter came closer.

While not quite as climactic as it would've been in the movies, Madison was greatful that this was real life, and they were getting onto the helecopter safely, and that it was taking up off of the ground. The amount of sweat that poured down her face began to make her eyes swell up and burn, but she could finally catch her breath, laying down on the floor as the door panel was closed. "That was too close for my liking. Madison? Are you two hurt?" Vega turned quickly, eargly waiting for a response. The helecopter was now far enough into the air and flying away from the area that radio transmission had started to go through again. He knew that Sam had enough knowledge that if Madison was hurt, she would be assessed immediately, so Vega went on to believe they had all gotten out of this in one piece. Aside from Griffin, who was no longer part of the BSAA. The moment he did what he did, he became the target of a manhunt. Nut all of that would have to wait, as their were much more important issues that needed to be relayed.
"This is Co-Commander Vega of the BSAA North American Branch. Send immediate response teams to FOB-42, viral outbreak stage three." Vega went to to repeat the transmission before changing channel to the Tricell Division. The message was repeated for their clarity, but Vega then went on to add more personal information. "Your on-site agents are safely being extracted via air support, no immediate or severe injuries sustained. Patching you through to them now for official confirmation." The last part was hastey, but Vega was already in the process of reaching for the second pair of radio earphones, handing them out to Sam. The rest would be left to her. Vega removed his own headphones so he could not only concentrate on flying, but also so that he could think about his old partners ultimate goal. They would also have to refuel at some point.

Sam spent a few moments trying to get her hands to stop shaking, before she holstered her pistol and put on the headset, turning the mic on and waiting for the static to clear before she spoke. She wasn't sure if her voice sounded as shaky to the listener on the other end, but she sounds like she was going to come apart as she talked.
"This is Agent Brooks. Can confirm viral outbreak at facility. Other than Agent Vega of the BSAA and my partner, consider all personnel stationed at base deceased. We need an immediate quarantine of the surrounding area. It's unclear where the outbreak started, but it could have spread into the countryside by now. Please confirm receipt of this transmission."

Not long after Sam got a response, a constant beep came from the navigations panel, they must have been out of the EMPs range by now. It was a good thing at the moment, but the beeping had indicated the were on a direct flight path of an oncoming aircraft. Four of them to be exact, which had Vega a little spooked. The last time a situation like this occured it was a ballistic missle, but once he had his own visual on four helecopters in front of him, he lowered theirs and immediately turned to Sam. "Tell them to turn back, its too soon for them to be with Quarentine!" He blurted over the sound of the engines so that she could hear him. Vega needed to keep steady on the controls, to make sure they didnt stray course and crash head on.
As the small fleet flew both overhead, one of them flew to the right hand side, and a logo clearly showing something that looked very similar to the old Umbrella template, only it was blue. A voice came through on the other end of the headset, speaking to Sam in a not so familiar voice. "Dont worry about us, just worry about what your plans are following these events, what your going to tell people, the media. Were here to make sure theres no evidence left, so you better start coming up with something now. Oh, and by the way, tell Lucas he can announce to the rest of the BSAA that im offically Missing In Action."

Sam didn't respond for a moment, watching as the helicopter moved away from them again. What did they mean, no evidence left behind? What had been going on at the facility?
"Vega. I think we found out where our missing friend went to. And I have no idea if that is a good thing or not. All I know is...our report is going to be very interesting when we get back."
Sam took off her headset, checking to make sure Madison was alright. She was shaken, shaken almost to her core, and she had been around the infected before. She needed to make sure the other woman was holding up alright.

There wasnt a whole lot going through her mind that didnt result in her feeling sick, but two things kept her from tipping over the edge. One being that she was in the presence of two highly trained professionals, for lack of a better term. Vega had obviously been with the BSAA for awhile, and that wouldve meant hes seen a lot of things. The same went for Sam, but she wasnt even in the BSAA. Her story about Raccoon City would have been one that Madison didnt want to hear in detail, because it mustve been traumatising for her. Much like this incident here had been more than enough for herself. This lead to the second thought, which Madison just said out loud to clear the air, and make sure her new partner was in the know.
"Im trying to come up with a letter of resignation in my head, but I cant because I dont even know what to say. I dont know how to give a reason, because im not like you. I dont have experience in any of this, and I dont know how to even explain it all. Ill go back, and ill talk to the coordinator, but after that im done. Im not giving up on TerraSave, I just cant do this again. I need time. Maybe you understand, maybe you dont, because of what you went through. Im just not you, and I wont ever be like you. Im not cut out for this." Madison was on the verge of just repeating herself, and rambling on. It was obvious to anyone that she was scared, and only came to that realization once the adrenline settled down and she was in her right mind. The night mind being scared, and actually accepting it. The only reason she managed not to break before was because she needed to do what she had to do. But right now, she just waited, and talked to Sam as much as she could.
Vega seen plenty of Agents crack, but that wasnt Madison. She seemed to have the mindset of a realist, and leaving TerraSave would be the only realistic thing to do. His feedback might be able to out her at ease, even if just a small amount. "TerraSave Agents are permitted to take a leave of absence for up to a month following a mission. Though not a requirement, its something you can ask for. I guarentee you theyll understand, especially given the situation. Thats one of the biggest differences between the BSAA and TerraSave..." Lucas trailed off, not wanting to finish his sentence. It wasnt someone either of them wanted to hear, and he wasnt judgemental. The BSAA didnt get stress leave. When things got rough, they had to push through, even if it killed them. The mission was over, but he could only imagine what would come from this, what would happen next, and it wasnt good. If Madison wanted to leave, she had every right, and he didnt blame her.
"Were refueling here, back on American soil." Lucas spoke, pointing to the airfield ahead. It looked like it was built during the fifties, being paralelle to a highway, but an airstrip was an airstrip, and they would only be about half an hour. The time catching their breath in the chopper was great, but stretching their legs would be even better. It even looked like there was a diner within a five minute walk, and without doubt the agents were hungry. "Hey, look. Lets say you two get something to eat while I refuel." He spoke to Sam, knowing that it was a good idea, almost like he was ordering her to take Madison there.
