"When we get back home, we can have Doc Czarnecki look her over. He has birthed many children. Would be nice to find some of the medical equipment he has asked us to look for on runs. Maybe someone has it here?"
One more thing that the colony needed, one more thing for her to keep an eye out for. To Polly it seemed like her brain was always making a mental list of what other people needed, what her community needed. It gave her a headache sometimes, and she wished one day she wouldn't have to worry about salvaging to survive. Maybe one day.
"Now come on, let's eat and get a start to our day. I think we have a lot to do, and not a lot of daylight to do it in."

She started plating, and bringing meals to the table, starting with Cassandra and working her way around the table. When she got to the old man, she leaned in close and smiled. She knew he was a wealth of information, all she had to do was ask the right questions.
"So, I imagine Jake and Katya fought often. Tell me, how often did Jake win?"

Polly sat next to Katyabwith her own plate, giving the woman a kiss on the cheek before she tucked in. She saw the woman looking at her oddly, and so she swallowed her food and smiled at the woman.
"That's for winning a lot. I'm proud of you."
She wasn't sure how often the woman heard that, but she was going to make it a mission to tell her more often. It wasn't a lie, she was certainly proud and content with her lover, her warrior woman. And she wanted to make sure that Katya knew that.

Polly didn't resist, but after a few minutes she managed to force herself back, blushing furiously and looking down at her plate. While the other woman had certainly never hidden her feeling for her, this was more than just a public display of affection. That was...just plain affection. It had certainly caught her off guard, but she was happy the woman liked what she had said.

Pollys face turned nearly crimson at the mention of what Katay would do to her, as well as the mental images of what she knew the would woman would do to her in public. She nodded anyways, not afraid to back down from the challenge.
"I'll take that chance. Be a brave girl for you. I've always tried to be."

Polly smiled and gave Katya another quick kiss, then continued eating her breakfast, listening in to the other conversations as they argued and joked. She found herself getting used to it, and learned that this was their main form of communication. That was alright, it was better than the awkward stares she had been giving her mother back home. She guessed it wasn't so bad, but still it made her uncomfortable sometimes to think of what her parents got up to.

"It's definitely different. Comforting though, a family feel to the home. Some places never get that feeling."
Polly gave the woman's hand a squeeze, and smiled reassuringly at her.
"Although I miss my mother's pie."

the banter continued on thought the meal, and they all helped wash up, and kept Polly out of the kitchen under the pretext that they should clean the dishes.
after getting dressed, Katya waited for polly at the door.
