(Sometimes I feel the water till it gets hot, but as long as it's clean nothing can happen. Water in the water heater could denature microbes if the water heater is set for very hot).
The mosquito flies away. There is a flea on her left leg crawling up, she sees the black dot moving.

Ashley swatted at the flea, wanting to either crush it against the skin of her leg or to scare it off, making it jump away. She kept looking for the flying mosquito, wanting to keep away from it in case it tried to land on her again. While she normally hated mosquitoes to begin with, the fact that they could give you an apparently deadly illness made her even more hyper aware of the buzzing noise.

With the water on, it is not easy to hear the mosquito, the flea jumps on once more during the cleaning. How many minutes does she take to clean up ?

Ashleys socks, shoes and pants were clean within five minutes, and as she watched the flea jump again, and her hands shake and she swatted at it, she quickly pulled her pants back on and ran out of the bathroom, shoes and socks in hand. She didn't want to stay in there for another second.

"What's the rush ?" The cop asks. Not all of the others are there. Hey had already walked back. "Everything ok ?"

Ashley closed the door behind her and leaned against it, feeling a little silly and suddenly less scared as she wrung out her socks and put them back on her feet, slipping on her wet but considerably cleaner shoes as well.
"Mosquito. There was a mosquito in there. I didn't want to get bit and end up like Bill."

He paused for a moment, and began showing an expression of fear, "I, didn't think of that. Who is Bill ?"
You see the rat in the corner of the garage, it is cleaning itself, or looks like it is cleaning itself. The cop sees it too, "We should go. Your parents might be at the bunk room."

"Yeah, let's go. I don't really feel safe here right now."
Ashley's shoes squelched as they walked, her feet already feeling clammy and cold as the water leaked from her socks and shoes onto the pavement. She was glad they were at least cleaner, but she would need to take them off for a while and let them dry out before she walked around in them for long. If her parents weren't at the bunk room, she could try and see if they could call over to the hospital. If she couldn't get there tonight, she could wait until morning.
"Bill is the man that saved me. He brought me here through the sewers. That's how we got here."

He takes her back across the street to the police station back parking lot, down into the basement garage, through some dark corridors that have a slight odor of formaldehyde, and up some stares, and to a door. "Strange. No one is here." He knocks on the door, "Hello ? Is anyone there ?" He slowly opens the door after no response. The room is empty. It has lockers along the wall across from a large cluttered table. Past the wall lined with lockers you see a sink. He comments. "I don't remember the sink there. I guess I just never noticed it." There are two bunk beds, and a nightstand between them. His radio crackles on, "All officers within the precinct report to the main lobby." He turns the volume nob down and whispers, "I need to go. I will be back or will have someone check on you soon. There are some snacks on the table it looks like. I don't think anyone will mind. See you later." He smiles, then walks to the door. With the door held open, he asks, "Is there anything else I can do ?"

"No. I can wait here and see who comes back. Hopefully my parents are with them, or maybe they know where they are. I'll just stay here and get these wet shoes off."
Ashley waited for the man to leave before taking off her shoes and socks, letting them dry on the floor under one of the cots. At the sight of food her stomach grumbled, reminding her she hadn't eaten in hours. While it was mostly snack foods, it was better than nothing. She ate and sat on the cot, wondering where everyone had gone and why. She begun to let paranoia sink in, and was tempted to quickly lock the door, but wouldn't she feel silly if people needed to get back in here to rest and she had locked them out?

Ashley sat on the bunk and let her feet dry, chewing quietly and trying not to think about what was going on all over the city. The area was fairly well barricaded, but she still didn't like the idea of being left alone and without protection. She had the bat, but she didn't really want to get too close to any of those sick people. While she had never used one before, she really wanted a gun, or be around someone that had one. Possibly five.
"This is stupid. I can't just sit here."

You begin to get sleepy. An uncontrolled yawn occurs. You realize it is late last you checked and it may be at least an hour since using the restroom to clean clothes. It is creepy quiet. The air does not move much. And you still smell slightly of sewage, or at least something does, but it is not as bad as it was.

Ashley looked over at the door, and then back to the bunks around her. She was tired, that was for certain. She didn't know what time it was, but between the soft bunk bed and the ordeals she had gone through over the past few hours she was feeling ready to drop. She tucked her shoes and still damp socks under the bed she was sitting on, and then slipped off her pants, tucking them under the bunk as well before she crawled into the sheets, ready to take a short rest if nothing else. She was certain when people started coming back in she would be woken up by the noise.

You lapse into a deep sleep, until you dream. Your dream starts out with you walking with your parents, but in a flash it is changed to a setting in a field, zombies crowd you. Then, a shadowy figure with sharp teeth and claws and bright white eyes jumps at you, and it reaches to your parents with a creepy smile, laughing as if to mock you, and you feel the sensation of rumbling, then, like near by claps of thunder, you hear it. You wake to the sound of gun shots near by. because of your near sleep status, the sounds sounded closer or louder than normal. When you begin to focus more, you see the room is still empty, but the lights the bunk area are off. It is almost as if someone turned them off for you to help you sleep.
