You don’t see one. It’s still early morning. There is also a dense fog slowly getting denser. It’s most likely from the many creeks and moist grasses near ponds. The closer to ponds the closer to more fog.

Roll for stealth? I want to follow Lakeland using the fog as cover to see if I can stay out of her sight and the dragons to keep a look out for her and to see if I can get the drop on it if it follows.

I decided to roll for Wisdom and got a 15. I decided to go toward the Captains last whereabouts and use the stealth roll for covering my tracks. Lakeland was right about splitting up. At least statistically.

2nd Lt. Lakeland: “Oh my god !” She whispers. “It’s close !” She whimpers. “It’s trying to get in my min-d !” She almost sounds like she’s sobbing. Halfway between her next sentence you hear a thud on her end. “I’m scared !” She inhales out of surprise. You can hear her breathing, and simply walking, but she stops talking. It’s like she’s still waking, breathing normal, but isn’t talking at all.

“Lakeland. You have to fight it. I’m sorry, just think about what’s at stake.” I continue to move.

You begin to feel a sensation of depression, a heavy weight upon you. You are given memories of being a child and helpless to help those you care about. Serious depression sets in, a sensation of lost hope and no reason to peruse your goals. It’s overtaking and nearly blinding. “You run and run, and all you can do is get behind. There is nothing in this land for you but loss and carnage. You’ll fail, and run out of time. The region will descend into chaos. Everything you do has been futile, and you think you know where you’re going, but there is no way out. Your friend and family have forgotten about you. All has been taken from you. All the time you wasted trying to go back home is for nothing.” You are given an image of the captain from the dragons perspective. The dragon peers down at him and two other figures shackles against a tree, just hanging there, and delivers his overwhelming breath attack. “See, they are gone. Simple, easy, not even a worthy fight.” He shows you Lakeland, walking toward a cliff from his perspective. “You can try to save her. I’ll let you and her live if you can get to her before she gets there.” He shows you the depth of the cliff. He flys over it simply sharing what he sees. The magnificent ravine and a large waterfall flowing over. She is far enough away, and you are close enough to reach her if you run, but it will take at least 50 minutes of running while she is at a brisk walk. Reality fades in, and you hear her softly sobbing while walking. He releases his control over you to allow you to run. “If you fail to save her, I’ll torture them.” He shows you the family. “Time is running out. You should just give up, and I’ll leave you alone.”
Orb: “GET HER !” The rob speeds through the forest, slow enough to lead you.

I start sprinting toward Lakeland through the woods with the orb. I am running as fast as I can with my adrenaline cranked.

You hear voices from an unknown source. It’s almost like prayers, providing a soothing kind of spine chilling sensation. It’s defiantly morale boosting, and it’s undermining the thought the dragon has been feeding you. Female and male voices of all ages. “In the days of fire, Hell ravages our home.” From elderly to young. “They take many lives and leave the rest of us to die.” Adrenaline sets in. “Oh why, ow-why !?” The crowd of a village long lost. Their energy is focused to boost your own. You dodge brush and slip across soft logs. “Let them free ! Come set them free !” A chorus of children cry. “Salvation, set them free !”
Cruel Dragon: “It’s too late. Give up. She’ll leap. You’re weak. Just sleep.”
You begin to break down from the mental attack of emotions. Roll against mental attack (Wisdom I think).

You succeed, and overcome this mental attack. You understand that he is attacking you, however, his second second attempt may overcome and break your awareness of reality. A loud ass POP erupts on your back (overflow energy release). You are under fire from Evokers from concealed locations. You notice a massive horde of warriors chasing you. You trip, but quickly catch yourself and keep running. You see Lakeland casually walking to a cliff. The is about 500 feet from it. You are 340 meters from her. You’ve emerged from a tree line, but have vines all over tearing against your shoes and pants.

I rush out to grab her before she reaches the edge. What does the cliff over look, and could I undo my wingsuit to glide with her, or would that logistically make a problem?

You don’t make it to her yet. You still have a reserve chute that might work, but it’s a small one, not made for two. You don’t know how deep exactly the cliff goes down, but you know it’s fairly deep. You know you’ll reach her in time though. It’ll take too long to open the wing suit before you reach her and it wouldn’t work with two. You hear the warriors behind you slow as you close in on the cliff.

I think about the reserve chute in case and keep running to Lakeland.
