If you look toward the receiving end of the AC-130, you’ll see a f**k ton of giants moving. You can only see so much, but they almost look like they’re chasing something through the forest and also trying to be fast so they don’t get hit by the shells. After a few moments of watching them, you see the very fast movement of a small hot object hit just behind the neck of one of them and blow out material and fluid from just below its back ribs. It falls face first into the ground and stops all movement. Then you see canine like animals running too, then flashes and puffs of smoke. You see tracers fly out from somewhere ahead of the giants path, which only means someone is shooting at the giants to slow them down. But these giants are very much not not slowing up. Another shell drops another giant.
Captain Buck: “My FLIR went blank, what the fuh-“ he stops speaking.
2nd Lt. Marx: “Captain ?” He waves at him. “CAPTAIN !?” The captain is blank faced. He shoves the stick down and the chopper picks up speed. Marks tries to overpower the captain by pulling back on the stick. “HELP, SUBDUE THE CAPTAIN !” The captains mind has been taken over by something. Tears begin to roll down his cheeks, as if he’s fully aware of what’s going on. “Caston, do what you gotta do to stop him !”
Captain Dixie: “Buck, what’s happening !? You’re flying erratic !”
2nd Lt. Marx: “He’s under the influence of something !”
Captain Dixie: “Play the stereo !” There is metal playing in the background on her coms.
Roll to hit, then roll for strength to restrain the captain, if you do. Seawall rushes to the stereo system controls that’s built under her seat.

You grab and restrain him. Marx pulls the chopper back into level flight and into a hover and starts to climb. Seawall stumbles and bumps her head and is knocked out and rolls and hits her head again and her flight helmet falls and dangles to the side.
2nd Lt. Marx: “Seawall !? On !”
SSgt. Easton: “She’s down, I’ll get it !” He slides with the motion of the chopper and his shoulder bumps one of the seats as he tries to reach for the stereo. He presses the on button, a purple light around the on button goes on, and he presses play. “Got I- !” He is d downed out when Thunderstruck by AC~DC plays loud enough to hear over the chopper. Hidden speakers emit sounds from under seats. M’mm-mm-mm-m’mm, you hear and it’s like a wave of morale that hits. A sound from home blares loudly across the lands. Marx tilts the nose forward to the battle below. Everything feels weightless for a moment but rather than a stomach dropping the motion of the chopper feels right with the sound as the thumping growl of the rotors snap to the beat of the song. Nobody talks, or can be heard. The chopper pulls up at about 350 feet. The captain taps your arms for you to release and starts nodding.

DM-P: This role play should have been completed a few pages ago, but the rolls I rolled that were suppose to lead to the conclusion tossed in some new things in the matrix of the cascade. This perhaps is a good thing, now that the action is increasing.
2nd Lt. Marx: “Captain ? You good !?” He glances back and forth, to the horizon and to the captain, the captain looks at him.
Captain Buck: “Thanks.” He grabs the controls. “My con.”
2nd Lt. Marx: “Yukons.” He releases the controls.
Captain Buck: “Mykons.” He looks at the area the AC-130 has been firing upon. There’s nothing there. There are no giants. Everyone has been played. It’s all been an illusion. “Figures.”
SSgt. Seawall: “These f**kers are f**king with us.” She stumbles awake and tries to climb back to her seat. Easton helps her. “The bubble came back to me. It’s the Nal’yus chick. Only able to com in dream. She said there’s a bubble around us, blocking coms. I told her to find the source so we can stop it. She said she’s already spread out trying to block two others enlsewhwere. She said keep up our noise and stay close to Salvation.”
Captain Buck: “Right.”
SSgt. Seawall: “Guy.” She looks at you. “My shoulder is off line. Can you man the 19 ?”

Captain Buck: “Follow ? I’m lookin for a jammer b*tch. Dixie. Let’s separate and the converge to triangulate enemy location.”
Captain Dixie: “Ok. I’ll fly stationary. Fly wide till we lose coms. Then close in. We can find the bubbles block range around us. Then once we lose coms, contact Neltz, get a fix on enemy jammer.”
Captain Buck: “Good plan.” He waits for her to hover and then flys away from her till connection is lost. He reaches about 7 miles before losing coms with her. “Buck, Neltz. Come in.”
Major Neltz: “Already got you a fix. Sending waypoint to friendlies. Got 64 support on approach. They’ll remove that jammer spot. The Director just arrived, too. They’ll be cratered soon too, just in case. Got a secondary fix on additional friendlies on the ground. They’ll need help. Go, get back to Dixie, send her this data.”
Captain Buck: “Yes-sir !” The chopper circles wide and returns to Dixie.
Major Neltz: “Got a fix on another ja-“ the link goes dry. Buck shakes his head. A second file attempts to upload but says pending.

The craft is going too fast. There are no visible targets. The chopper slides low and fast, then points up near Dixie.
2nd Lt. Marx: “Seven VIctor Tango Mike, Dixie. Do you read ?”
Captain Dixie: “Five-five ! What’cha got !?”
2nd Lt. Marx: “Sending files.”
Captain Dixie: “Receiving.” You hear a pop on her end.
Captain Buck: “Dixie, status !?”
Captain Dixie: “Evokers attacking, we’re fine.” The chopper reaches Dixie’s and passes by. “Got the files. Got the location. Two ship support ?”
Captain Buck: “Yep. Form up.” The other chopper eventually forms up on the left rear. “Caston. You, Bordeaux will have to disembark and lead everyone to the chopper. Bring stretcher. Easton, provide 19 cover. Salvation, cover.”

You see the GPS and the waypoints and know you’re close to the pick up location. Seawall looks lethargic and in need of medical attention. You are the only one best qualified to take a look at her.

You see a dark purple bruise at her right collar bone, and down her arm. Skin is not breached but there is a serious bruise between her neck and upper shoulder and the bruise is moving down her upper arm. This could be serious, especially if a major vein or artery ruptured from the impact. If you still have your pack, you have the ability to open the impact zone up, identify the problem.
SSgt. Seawall: “Guy.” She speaks shallow. “Sir. Can I have my water please ?” She seems kind of loopy.
