Jack looked over the picture before sticking it in her own pocket. She looked up at Mikey and ushered him out of the building. "I think it's time we head to the clinic," she said lightly as she looked around. She sighed a bit as she waved him back in the direction of town. On their long walk back to the town Jack pulled out the book she had picked up in the library, and started to read it. She skimmed threw parts of it, and read over other parts. Nearly running into Mikey on occasion when he stopped in front of her. By the time they reached the clinic she stuck the picture that she kept in the place of the book, and tucked it away in her coat once more.
Looking around she shook her head. "You know for a town that supposable burned down it looks pretty damn good," she said as she walked toward the door. She pushed it open and looked around. "Hello?!" she called out more out of curiosity than anything else, and all she was replied with was the own echo of her voice. "In we go," she said as she stepped into the building. She glanced around a bit before walking over to the main desk searching threw it for a bit she came up with two flash lights. Tossing Mikey one she kept one for herself. "Don't ask, it was just a hunch," she said as she turned hers on.

"Hunch...right..." Mikey said, a bit skeptical. Maybe she was psychic too. Oh well. "So what exactly are we looking for?" He asked as he flicked the flashlight on and shook it as the light started to die. "Ya, I get the crappy one..." He thought to himself. "What exactly did she send us here for anyway?" He asked as he walked to the one door in the main waiting room. He tried the knob, and when it didnt open, he sighed. He was getting mighty sick of doors not opening.
Out of no where, he slammed his body into the door, and to his surprise, the frame splintered and the door opened. "Hey, its open." He said as if he had simply turned the knob and opened it normally. He peeked inside and saw rows upon rows of file cabinets. "Care for some reading?" He asked, walking inside and taking a look around. He opened the first drawer he came to and opened it. The files were there, in a total mess.
"Whats your last name anyway?" He asked, figuring it was a good place to start. With something they knew.

Jack looked at Mikey when he asked her name, and then looked at the filing cabinets. She sighed a bit as she ran her hand along the top of the filing cabinets pulling the dust off the top. She looked around the room, for a moment ignoring his question. Stopping at the window to look out into the woods. "I don't know my real last name," she said as she looked back at him. "I was never told it, and when i was finally adopted I took on the name of my foster parents. Sutherland," she explained as she turned to look out the window. "I don't know why were here. Without knowing my real last name it would be nearly impossible to find my file if it is even here," she said as she looked back toward him. "Sorry, kinda tired," she said as she walked over to the filing cabinets and leaned up against it.

Several minutes passed as Mikey searched through all of the 'S' files, looking for the name Sutherland. He wasnt very surprised when he didnt find any with that name. "Well s***...you'd figure your parents would have had a..." He said, stopping in his tracks. "Wait a second. If your parents lived here, they'd be here. Right?" He asked.
"So...we should be looking for...who should we be looking for? Do you know if Jaqualine is even your real name?" He asked.

Jack looked back at Mikey before looking outside the window. "I don't know. I don't even know who my real parents are," she said as she walked over to a desk and sat down. "All I remember is my time at the orphanage," she said as she looked back to him. "I'm sorry I can't really help. i don't really know anything," she said as she shook her head. She sighed as she ran her hand across her face.

"Well, that puts us in the same boat..." Mikey said, flipping through files. He had looked for Sutherland, Southerland, Sotherland, and even Suothorland. Any possible way he could think of to spell her last name, and still nothing. After that, he went so far as to look at them all for "Jaqualine". Still, nothing. It must have not been her real name. He wouldnt mention that. She didnt need that on her mind at the moment.
While flipping through, he did find something. "Hey, check this out. 'Gilespie, Alessa. Age 13, daughter of Daliah Gilespie. Father, unknown.' ...What the f**k? 'Gave birth to a baby girl.' Doesnt say anything after that about the baby. But... 'Admitted to Silent Hill General with 3rd degree burns on 99.7 percent of her body.' Jesus..." He muttered, dropping the file on the top of the cabinet for Jack to see.
"Who the f**k could do that to a little girl?" He said, not really expecting an answer.

Jack looked up as Mikey put the file down on the cabinet. She tilted her head slightly before standing up. She walked over to the cabinet and picked up the file. "People have a cruel since of nature to them. Could have been an abusive parent, could have been a fire, could have been many things, but until you know the truth there really isn't to much you can do," she said as she looked at the name. She flipped open the file and looked it over. She then flipped to the end of the file to where it mentioned about the burns. She carefully read threw it.
It wasn't to much longer before she heard crying. Jack looked up and looked around the room. Her eyes falling on Mikey who didn't even seem to notice. Jack cried out as the file dropped from her hand, and her hands gripped the side of her head. She dropped to her knees as she panted heavily. Her body felt hot, and the screaming grew louder. Jack cried out before she hit the ground, and passed out. Though in her dreams she was left to stand back and watch a nightmare unfold in front of her.

"Jack!" Mikey yelled, dropping to his knees next to her to see what was wrong. Nothing seemed to be physically wrong with her, but in this place it didnt need to be for her to be in danger. He tried his best to wake her from her nightmare, to no avail.
-------------------------
Jack "awoke" in what looked like a church. A small girl, the same one they had both seen in the orphanage, was tied to a huge pit in the middle of a room. People were all over the place, screaming what sounded like "burn her". A woman in the middle, dressed in a blue dress, was preaching to them all, goading them into violence.
Yelling on and on about the bastard child who herself had given birth to one, and who had to be cleansed from this world of all her sins. A tall and lanky man proceded to walk toward her with a torch, and at the order of the woman in the blue dress, set the small girl ablaze.
Jack woke then, the image still burned into her mind.

Jack's eyes shot open, and she just laid there staring at the ceiling. It took what seemed like forever, before she finally sat up with Mikey's help. She leaned forward and put her hand up to her forehead. Letting out a long drawn out sigh, she closed her eyes as she could still see the image burning in her mind. The echos of the word 'bastard child' seemed to radiate threw her ears as she sat there. After a bit she finally looked up, and looked at Mikey. "I'm fine," she said lightly. An again with his help she stood up.
She looked around the room before looking down at the file she had dropped. Jack shook her head lightly as she knelt down, and picked up the file. She was a bit weary of looking at it again. Still something drove her to look at the file. "It wasn't who," she said lightly as she looked up at Mikey before handing him the file. "It was what," she said as she looked around the room. "A whole town at that. Tied her to a pole over a pit, and caught her on fire," she explained as she looked at him. "Can you do me a favor," she asked as looked around the room. "Can you look for anyone else born with that last name. I need to sit down a bit more," she said as she slid down the cabnites, and pratically baried her head in her knees.

"Ya... ya, sure..." Mikey said slowly, not quite being able to take in all that Jack said to him. The whole populace of this place got together to burn one little girl? No wonder they had burned. They deserved it, no matter how it had happened, Mikey thought.
He took a look through the files again, looking for anyone named Gilespie besides Alessa and Daliah. So far, he was finding nothing. He had given up checking names on files. The files were so mixed, it looked like someone had tossed them all on the ground and then randomly took a few to fill the files with. There was no sort of organization to them. But, that didnt stop Mikey. He looked at each paper for a patient name, and when he saw it wasnt right, he threw it over his shoulder and checked the next one.
Thats when a 'J' name caught his eye. His excitment, mixed slightly with fear, stopped him from realizing what the name was for a moment. Both feelings were confirmed. "Found it!" He said, blurting out something before he thought it out. The first name was Jaqualine, yes. But, the last name was marked Doe. "Dammit." He said, setting the stack of papers he was holding on top of the file cabinet so he could hold the light closer to this one.
"Female. Race, caucasion. Eye color, grey. Hair color, brown. Four pounds, 11 ounces. 13 inches long." Mikey read aloud. He had no clue what Jack weighed or how tall she was when she was born, or even what she weighed or how tall she was now, but the rest fit. Plus the name. He thought he had just found her birth certificate.
"Mother, unknown. Father, unknown. No known relatives." He read off. "Thats why you ended up in the orphanage so young. But... a baby doesnt just pop out of thin air or get delivered by the friggin stork. Why the hell does this not say a goddamn thing about you?" He asked, pretty sure she didnt have an answer either.

Jack looked at Mikey as he was going to hand her the file and she waved it away. She didn't really want to touch another one encase of her little fit again, the last one was a bit painful on the head. She looked around the room before sighing heavily. "Well aparently someone didn't want me, but . . ." she trailed off into thought at what Mikey had said. It was true if she had a birth record then the parents would have been listed. At least the mother would have. Shaking her head in thought and trying to clear the cob webs from ealier. "Unless i was just abandon and wasn't even born at a hospital, then they wouldn't have any information and just go on what they had to make a record," she explained as she stood up. Jack looked around the room before looking at Mikey. "There are a lot of reasons why that record would be incomplet, but until we know the truth about this town we may never know. Though . . . though I would just like to get you out of here. If it's because of me that you are here I am terribly sorry. I never meant for you to be dragged into my affairs," she said as she looked up at him with a weak smile. "Thank you though, thank you for staying with me. I really don't think I could deal with all this alone."

"No problem. You know, it's not too bad when you get used to it." He said, meaning the first part and lying his ass off the second. Just them, almost as if some cosmic source was coming out of nowhere to prove he was full of s***, a crashing noise was heard coming from the back of the clinic.
"The f**k was that?!" Mikey said, growing used to the peace and jumping at the sound. He raised his gun to the door with a shaky hand, his heart in his throat for a moment. The noise, which was now a dragging sound, kept coming closer. Closer, closer, closer every minute. And even when it sounded like it was coming from the room, the door it had come from behind still never moved.
Mikey, having it in his head that nothing made sense in this place, decided to turn and look behind them. Again, he got the start of a lifetime.
What looked like a nurse, down to the uniform and humanoid body, was standing there with a big lead pipe in its hand. It's face looked like it had been stretched out, twisted a few times, and then tucked back into place, but somehow it could see them. Enough so that it raised the metal pipe and started to swing it in a sideways motion. Mikey, being quicker than he ever had been in his life, yanked Jack foreward with the leverage from his own weight. They essentially traded places, and he felt the sharp impact at his shoulder that threw him into the file cabinet and made him drop his gun. The nurse grabbed the pipe at both ends and used it to try and choke Mikey.
Jack had her own problem, however. From seemingly nowhere, another one of the creatures came from behind with a length of chain. Using it as a garrot, it swung it over her head, around her neck, and lifted its arms in a very effective choke.

Jack moved to help Mikey, but was quickly brought to her knees as the chain wrapped around her neck. She cried out before starting to chock. Her hands gripped the chain tightly as she tried to pry it from her neck. Jack was on her knees by now gasping for air that wasn't coming. She felt tears streaking down her cheeks as she could feel the darkness taking hold. She tried crying out almost in a plea. Her body tired just as much as her mind was. So much was out there to take in, and nothing ever made since to her.
Her eyes turned to an icy blue as her tears dropped from her chin turning to ice as they fell threw the air. Her hair shifted as a faint wind seemed to flow threw the air. The sound of cracking echoed threw the air as the windows started to spider. The chain that wrapped around Jack's neck seemed to turn to white as the air grew cold around them. As the window's shattered almost like they were blown out, the chain around Jack's neck shattered causing her to hit the ground. It didn't stop there as the wind seemed to gust threw the room the so called nurses began to shake violently as cuts seemed to appear on their bodies. Soon enough their bodies were torn to shreds where they stood, and as the wind died down they fell to the ground unmoving.
Jack just laid on the ground as her eyes returned to normal. Though the tears didn't seem to stop as she just laid there staring at the ground unmoving. Her body seeming to tremble on occasion as if she was sobbing.

Mikey, now on the ground gasping for air, looked over at Jack as he did.
"Jack." He whispered, still trying to catch his breath. He had been on the verge of passing out from lack of air when Jack had done her thing, whatever it was. "Jack." He said, louder now. He started to crawl over to her, finding it too hard to stand up. He finally reached her and hesitantly reached out to touch her shoulder.
"Jack?" He asked, uncertain if she was even alive, let alone ok.

Jack looked up at Mikey when he shook her. Threw her tears she could barley make out his face. She really didn't know what had over come her, but for the first time she just wanted to be comforted. Jack pushed herself up and wrapped her arms around Mikey. She held onto him tightly as she cried heavily into his shirt. Her hands gripping the back tightly as she continued to cry. She was tired and exhausted. Her body and her mind both hurt, and she didn't know how much she could deal with it. If it wasn't because of Mikey she would have probably lost it a long time ago.
