Jack glared at the man as she held her hands out beside her. The wind shifting around her as the fince around the graveyard began to shake. Gripping her hand together tightly the rod iron poles to the fince broke from the bounds of the wall and raised into the air. She found it strange, but with her adrinalin going like it was she felt high almost like she was on top of the world. But yet she knew what the end cost would be. Jack growled slightly as she flung her hand forward and several of the poles shot torward the man at a fast speed, and without even giving it a second thought she had done it with the other hand throwing all the poles at the man.
Finally her powers taking some bit of tole on her. She was starting to pant slightly. Still she wasn't going to give up. She knew if she went down then she just sacraficed Mikey's life, and she couldn't do that. She had to take this thing down first. Jack shifted her hands as the wind around the graveyard grew cold, and what looked almost like large dust devils started to flow around them. She was already panting heavily, her chest was burning, and her head was starting to scream in pain.

If it were possible, the smiling man stopped smiling when he saw the next thing Jack had in store for him. He couldnt shrug this move off like it was nothing. He had to actually try. He could see the pain on her face, and knew he could outlast her. But, he had to deal with this first.
As each bar started to fly toward him, he moved to dodge it. She ran out of poles, each sticking into the ground or flying off into the distance, and he stood there unfazed. He looked around at the hurricane like storm in the making and raised his own hands into the air. The wind started to die down, the tempature returning to normal.
Things were starting to get risky. She showed more power this time than she ever had before. He had to take care of her before she pulled another trick.
He started toward her, at a normal pace, before she got the chance to recover. What he hadnt counted on, however, was someone else in the graveyard. A voice echoed behind him, that of an old woman, strong and unfaltering.
"Leonard!" She yelled, catching the man's attention. He looked back with a look of hate in his eyes, eyeing the woman.
"Daliah..." He whispered, his words laced with venom. "Always a thorn in my side, arnt you?" He said.
"Always." She said, not afraid of him. "Leave her alone." She yelled, his fingers clenching and unclenching at her sides.
"What, gonna sick your watch dog on me?" He asked.
"No, I was thinking of killing you myself." She said.
"You dont have that power!" He spat back. It was true, she didnt. But she did have her tricks. One of which she used on Jack, as soon as she had started to talk. As if by magic, the small artifact dropped out of her pocket, seemingly staring up at her.

Jack was panting heavily as she stood there swaying on her feet. She looked up at the man, and the woman who had helped them earlier. She looked around before her eyes fell on the object on the ground. The same artifact that she had pocketed from the clinic they had come from earlier. Jack smiled lightly as she had realized that she totally forgotten about the artifact. It was suppose to completly surpress evil magic, but the problem was it had to be close to him. Jack grimiced slightly as she realized she had to get up close and personal with him once more, but one positive thing was that he had a lot of pockets to stick the artifact in.
She looked up at Daliah before climbing to her feet again. "Thank you," she spoke lightly, before she stood up straight. She bit her lip as she tried her best to gain her composure. With an outstreched hand the small dust devils began to form once more, but it was one and much larger than the others. This one circled around her hand this man, and as it did it began to up root those gravestones around them. It also begain to pull the poles that were in the ground out. Turning a harmless whirlwind into a death trap. Jack grinned slightly at the man as the death trap began to grow smaller around them, tearing up the ground around them as it began to close around them.

Daliah smiled back when Jack thanked her, but when she saw what was about to happen, her smile faded. Her hand shot into the air, pointed at Jack, and black fog seeped from her fingers. The fog flew through the air, stopping short of Jack. It touched the ground and started to solidify, turning into the same eight foot creature with the pyramid helmet from earlier.
With a swift move, he reared back and hit Jack in the chest, throwing her out of the whirlwind. Oddly, she hit only air and none of the deathly fast objects flying around. She landed on the ground with a thud, the air knocked out of her again. The creature, on the other hand, turned to face the grinning man known now as Leonard, closing the gap.
Leonard knew this was one that couldnt be escaped. He couldnt move fast enough to dodge through the wind, and now he was trapped with the one thing that could end him. The whirlwind kept getting closer, and he sighed in defeat. The pyramid monster got closer, and in a last ditch effort, Leonard tried to fight. The winds got too thick to see then, and the two monsters were lost to sight.

Jack cried out when the newly formed creature struck her in the chest. The small artifact dropping from her hand as she hit the ground and slid to a stop. She gasped heavily as she laid there trying to gather her breath. Tears almost swelling in her eyes as her hand held her chest, and she struggled slightly to breathy. She looked up at the rather large whirlwind as the creatures disappeared. Jack finally climbed to her feet still gasping for air, but quickly collapsed her her knees again. She was exhausted, and her body screaming in pain. Her eyes flickered slightly from the ocean blue to the the dull gray that they were. An just as that happened, the whirlwind began to falter as it grew weaker. Still Jack tried her best to keep it up, but she could already feel her powers taking their tole on her body and mind.

As the whirlwind slowed and finally dissapeared, Jack could see the pyramid monster squeezing the life out of Leonard. The creature had its left hand wrapped around Leonard's throat while his other was stretched out to the side. Leonard seemed on the verge of passing out, struggleing with the monster as a huge blade appeared in the monsters hand.
Without hesitation, the pyramid monster threw Leonard to the ground with such force that he left an imprint, and for a massive force, plunged the blade to the hilt into Leonard's chest. Leonard grunted in pain, but didnt die. He was simply stuck in place.
"Use it now!" Daliah screamed, refering to the artifact. She couldnt get involved directly. She was pushing it as it was, but she wasnt going to be the one to kill him.
-------------------------
Mikey finally made a hole in the wall big enough for him to crawl out of. It had only taken a matter of minutes, but it felt like an eternity. He could only think about Jack out there by herself, probably dead by now. When he got out of the tomb, he looked around for her. He saw her, miraculously alive. The smiling man, seemingly dead at the hand of the monster, and the woman who had helped them earlier.
He ran to Jack, crouching beside her and grabbing her by the shoulders. She looked like she was about to pass out. "Jack!" He said, shaking her slightly. "Jack? Are you ok?" He asked.

Jack was cringing in pain. Her head screaming at her, but once more it was joined by many more screams of pain. Jack gripped her head tightly as she cried out. Leaning forward as she began to feel sick. She was fighting passing out, but the added voices in her head wasn't helping. She didn't answer Mikey, but rather just picked up the artifact from the ground. Climbing to her feet she staggered a great deal as her body swayed. Moving weakly toward the man on the ground, as she finally reached her so did her legs give out. Jack fell to her knees as she leaned over panting heavily. Holding up the artifact for a moment, before looking back at Mikey tiredly. She looked down at the man before sticking it into his pants pocket.

As soon as the small artifact touched the man, it started to shine with a bright light. The light shone bright, nearly blinding Mikey and Jack. It soon started to dim, eventually turning black as a black fog started to spill out and shoot toward the sky. As it did, the man seemed to grow weaker. When the fog ended, he finally layed still.
The fog hung around the sky near the graveyard, now filled with what looked like small clouds flying around in a circle. They grew faster, and started to decend on the people around the point of origin. They grew closer and closer, and finally stopped.
Daliah, holding her hands in the air, looked at Jack and Mikey and yelled out. "Get inside the tomb! Hurry!" Mikey did as he was told, picking up Jack and putting her over his shoulder as he ran as fast as he could back to the tomb he had been trapped in moments earlier. He set Jack down, slid into the hole as quickly as he could, and then drug Jack in. He gently set her down where he had layed, her jacket under her head, before he went back to look. What sounded like an air raid siren sounded, and he recalled what had happened the last time.
The old woman that was Daliah ran as fast as her old bones would take her to the opening and slid inside as well. Her friend, as it seemed, was nowhere to be seen. As soon as she was safely inside, she turned to the hole and held her hand up. New mortar grew from nowhere and sealed the hole. She chanted something, and the same red symbol from the orphanage appeared on the ground.
"We should be safe for now." She said as she turned, taking a deep breath and leaning on the coffin inside the tomb, closing her eyes and trying to catch her breath.

As soon as Mikey had laid her on the ground she instantly rolled onto her side, and covered her head with her arms as if it would block out the screams. She had heard them so many times before, but it was nothing like what she had felt now. It just added to the pain she was already feeling. Jack finally cried out as she gripped her head as tightly as she could the screams feeling like nails on a chalk board. She continued to cry out as her tears continued to stream down her face. It wasn't to much longer before she laid still panting heavily, and staring off into space. Her eyes seeming distant as she laid there staring off into the shadows of the tomb. Still she could hear the screams in her head. The aggony and pain that radiated threw each scream as if she was standing there watching. Jack was panting heavily as she just laid there staring off into the darkness. Though her eyes were open her mind had wondered else where in attempts to escape the pain from her body as well as her mind.

"Isnt there something we can do for her?" Mikey asked, leaning by her side and trying to comfort her in any way he could. He wasnt doing a good job of it, it seemed. She was in so much pain, and he could do nothing. He'd never felt so helpless in his life.
"I'm sorry. She has to fight through it on her own." Daliah answered.
"Why? You helped us back at the orphanage. Why cant you help her now?" Mikey asked.
"I can heal broken bodies, but not broken minds. She must find her own way." Daliah answered. Mikey was angry, but he supposed it made sense.
"Who are you anyway?" He asked, realizing all he knew about this woman was her first name.
"My name is Daliah. Daliah..." She hesitated, not sure if she could go on. "Gillespie. I think youve met my daughter..." She said, looking to the ground.

Jack laid on the ground panting heavily, and to her what seemed like eternity was just a mater of minutes. She finally blinked as the screaming died away once more. She couldn't remember the last time the screams had been this bad. They were never this bad, maybe a few here and there after crossing paths from a few disasters, but never like this. Yet never like this had a whole town pratically been wiped off the face of the earth. Jack blinked a couple of times, before she finally started moving. With Mikey's help she was able to sit up with ease. She looked up at him before looking away, and wipping the tears from her face. "I'm sorry for what I did," she spoke lightly before looking up at Daliah. "Your daughter . . . Alyssia, right?"
Jack smiled lightly as she nodded slightly. "Yes we know her. Sort of," she quickly added in before looking over at her jacket. She sighed heavily as she used the wall behind her to help her to her feet. Looking up at Daliah she nodded again. "She's been helping us threw all of this, and so have you it seems. Thank you for your help. If it wasn't for you my foolish actions could have gotten myself and Mikey killed."

"I do not think she would have sent you out here if she doubted you." Daliah said, not pointing out the fact that they probably would have been dead if she had not interveined. Maybe Jack wasnt as strong as she had thought...
No. Alessa wouldnt have sent her if it were a losing fight. Jack had to be special. She just didnt know it yet.
Mikey, having been sitting against the wall enjoying the quiet time they were getting, looked at Jack and smirked after she said what she said. "Eh, cost of enjoying your company, I suppose." He chuckled once and then grew serious. "So, whats the plan? After this is over I mean. Is she gonna pop of nowhere again and tell us what to do?" He asked.
"Something like that." Daliah said.
"So, what do we do until then?" He asked.
"Play 20 questions if you want, we just have to wait for the storm to pass. Metaphorically." She said.
Mikey, in his endless pile of jokes or ways to be a smartass, said "Ok, I spy with my little eye, something grey."

Jack slumped up against the casket in the middle of the room. She used It to slide down to the floor, and leaned her head back against it. Closing her eyes she let out a heavy sigh. Her body still felt weak and drained. She looked tiredly around the room before looking back at Daliah. “You said storm? What do you mean by that?†she asked lightly. She adjusted herself a bit to get as comfortable as she possibly could. “What could possibly be worse than that man we dealt with?†she asked finally leaning forward. “An damn it my body is killing me,†she said as she let out a moan. Finally in a last ditch effort to get comfortable she laid back down on the ground, and used her jacket as a pillow. “There are many questions, but the most important one I don’t think you could be able to tell us.†Jack sighed heavily as she just laid there staring at the wall.

"Just a metaphore." Daliah said when Jack asked about her statement about the storm. "I'm sure you've seen what the other side of this world looks like." She said.
"You mean the one that lookes like someone repainted in human blood?" Mikey said, smoking another cigarette.
"Yes, that would be the one. When that happens, it isnt wise for anyone to be out in the open." She explained. She listened to Jack and watched her try to get comfortable before she said something about difficult questions. "Try me. I know quite a few things in the world." She said, looking at Jack, curious what the question might be.

Jack smiled lightly as she looked up at Daliah from her position on the ground. Nuzzling her head slightly into her jacket as she tried her best to get as comfortable as possible. "Do you know how to get out of here?" she asked before closing her eyes. "I was told that killing Mr Smily out there would bring us one step further into getting out. To be honest I feel like I've dragged Mikey into all this mess. He really doesn't need to be here," she spoke lightly as she let out a long yawn. Shaking her head as she tried her best to stay awake.
Trailing off into another thought as she laid there with her eyes closed. She could hear their screams, but it wasn't as bad as the last time. Most of the time the screams weren't bad because she could use her own powers to supress them, but like before when her body and mind were exaughsted and she couldn't use her powers anymore. The screams were amplified nearly a hundred times worse. "There are a lot of lost souls here," she spoke quitly. "I can hear them screaming. I know this is their purgatory and freedom wont come, but damn do they really have to scream so loud," she laughed slightly as she covered her head with her arms.
