"You'll leave when your purpose has been served." Daliah said simply. "I am sorry that I cant offer you a better answer, but that is what I know." She said, laying against the wall from her place on the floor. "I grow tired. We should try to get some rest. It will be much easier to go on later, and we will be safe. The answers will come to you when you need to know them." She said rather crypticlly before seemingly falling asleep right then and there.
"Maybe she has a point. Alessa told us what to do earlier, she'll probably come and do it again when the time's right." Mikey said, laying on his side on the floor. He had moved there because he didnt want to end up rolling off in his sleep. Come to think of it, he was really tired.
"Might be a good idea to get some rest. I'm sure you could use it. You've had a full day." He said, laying his head on his arms, using them as opposed to laying it on the hard ground. Soon enough, he let out a yawn, and fell asleep.

Jack sighed heavily as she leaned her head back against the wall. She just sat there as the others slept. her mind wrapping around the events of the day, and the man that now laid dead outside these walls. Jack sighed a bit as she began to grow curious about something. Only two people knew of her full name and not just what she had them call her. Jack squinted her eyes as she sat there. Her mind trying to figure out how this man new her name. She sighed a bit as she hung her head, before resting them on her arms. So much has happened and so much was going to happen. She was just worried about Mikey. It felt as if she had dragged him into her affairs, and now she didn't know how to get him out of it. She yawned slightly before she closed her eyes, and drifted to sleep in a sitting position.

*Several Hours Later*
Jack awoke feeling rather refreshed. Actually, she felt great. Just like she had when Daliah had healed them back at the orphanage. She was the first to wake, so it seemed. But, as soon as she started to stir, Daliah spoke from her sleeping position.
"Awake?" She said, never opening her eyes. Mikey never stirred, simply continued his breathing in an even motion. A dead givaway he was still asleep.

Jack looked back at Daliah and then down at Mikey. "Are you?" she asked lightly before completly standing up and leaving Mikey be for the time. She stretched her arms before looking back at Daliah. "Question," she said lightly as she leaned up against the wall. "What do we do now? Just wonder around this hell hold until Alyssia . . . or should I say mother . . . tells us what's next?" she asked as she looked toward the door. She sighed a bit before walking to the door. She put her hand against it and closed her eyes. "The sleep was good though, even in the position I slept in." When she opened her eyes again there was a faint cracking and shattering should from the other side and the door swung open. She looked out into the graveyard as everything seemed normal . . . or as normal as it was going to get. "Though I do prefer a bed," she laughed slightly.

At the sound of the door being forced open by Jack's power, Mikey woke with a start. He looked around the tomb, his gun in hand, before he relaxed at the sight of everything.
"God... I'd hate to be the one to have to wake you up in the morning..." He said, rolling to his stomach so he could get to his knees and proceed to stand up. He made a quick check to see if everything was in its place before he lit a cigarette out of habit and walked next to Jack. Daliah followed.
"She knows your here. She will find you." Daliah said as she started to walk away. "I have matters I must attend to. Just stay put." She said as if scolding a child who wandered too much for its own good. Before long Daliah was out of sight, and the two of them were once again left alone.
"So... what do we do?" Mikey asked, absently paceing the ground.

Jack sighed as she looked around the grave yard. Finding that for the first time it was starting to give her the creeps. She looked up at Mikey before walking toward the gate. "Yeah I know I we were told to stay," she said lightly before opening the gate and turning around to him. "But this place is starting to creep me out, and I figured while we wait for Alyssia to show up we could be doing a bit more exploring," she pointed out as she waited for him to follow. "Don't really know where to go right now. This town is actually pretty big," she explained before she stopped for a moment. "You remember those people who died trying to kill the smiling man?" she asked as she looked up at him. "I wonder if there are more of them here, heck I wonder if there friendly, because when they fired on him they never even took into consideration us being there," she pointed out.

"I wouldnt think they would. Two people who they probably didnt even notice and didnt post a threat to them, and one guy everyone noticed who could liquify a human being with his finger." Mikey said, remembering the situation very vividly. He couldnt remember a time he had run faster in his life.
He took a look back at the graveyard, and couldnt see the big deal. It didnt even look like a graveyard anymore, with all the headstones ripped from the ground. Plus, they had just spent the night, at least he thought so, in a tomb. With several people buried or in stone tombs. It didnt get much creepier than that, and now that they had done it, he was starting to forget what that word meant.
"I dunno..." Mikey said, back on the men from earlier. "Guys in miner suits. Thats a bit odd in the first place. Why would they be wearing them?" He said aloud, remembering the thick rubber suits with the old fashioned gas masks. Pipes and clubs and all manner of improvised weapons in their hands. "Ever hear that saying 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'? Seems like it would work here."

Jack paused for a moment before turning to look at Mikey. "I don't know," she said lightly before looking out across the street. "Remember this whole town had a hand in helping to burn a little girl," she pointed out. Looking around the smoky street she sighed a bit before she crossed her arms. "This place may be some kind of purgatory to them, or it may even be their hell. I don't really know . . . I still don't know our place either. Heck I would still like to know who put us in those holding cells at the orphanage," she pointed out.
She looked at Mikey before starting back down the road. "There is more to this town, and so many lost souls. I can heart them screaming all the time, but when I'm up to par with my powers I can block them out. Though when I'm not . . . well you seen what happened back there. Talk about a killer headache," she said with a dry laugh. She looked back to Mikey with a weak smile. "Alright, I'll leave it up to you. Do you want to go see if we can find more of those weird people? They may also be able to help us out on the story of this town."

"Good point..." Mikey said when Jack reminded him about the less than savory history of the towns people. And then the holding cells... Leonard didnt seem like the kind of guy to put people in a cell to leave them for later. Not to mention he had been looking for them later. None of this had occured to him earlier...
"Ok... How about we go looking and cross that bridge when we come to it?" He said. Seemed like a plan to him. Reactiveness was always a safe way to go. At least you didnt do anything rash. In his experience anyway. "How is it that you hear them anyway? I thought you could move things and make the weather change, not hear ghosts." He said.

Jack laughed a bit as she shook her head. "Not ghost . . . lost souls," she pointed out as she turned to face him. "I can hear them because their souls are trapped within the city . . . within the air, and within everything we touch . . . Not to mention they have haunted my dreams ever since I could remember," she said before turning to walk down the street. She sighed heavily as she kept her eyes peeled for any unwanted company, and then for those they were looking for. "There are a lot of things I don't know about my powers, and I figure that I wont know the full extent to them. In truth they never were this powerful until we entered this world, but I do have to admit that the consequences of using said power if a lot more painful too." Jack paused as she seen a shadow. Carefully she followed it down an alley catching the bare end of what was a man turning another corner. Following him as fast as they could. She found herself stepping back out onto a street and in front of what looked like a church of some kind. "Wow, it's weird . . . I figured a church wouldn't be here of all places."

"You know, there are a lot of documented cases of religious fanatics or cults doing some really bad stuff. Burning people at the stake, for instance." He said, remembering what Jack had reminded him about. Seemed like the two went together. Jack had probably put two and two together from her vision, but she had not shared some details with Mikey. The person she had seen, who they should have been right behind, was nowhere to be seen.
This didnt sit well with Mikey. They were obviously good at setting up ambushes, sort of. The one with Leonard had been going good until they actually tried to ambush him. And for any good ambush, there was usually bait. The whole thing was feeling a bit hinky.
"I got a bad feeling about..." He said, being cut off when they saw a single miner step out from behind a car. He was followed by another, and another, and another. Soon, at least 20 of them were surrounding the two of them. "...this." Mikey finished, looking around at the men. Some held pipes or clubs or similer objects while other held crudely fashioned bows.
"They gotta have a cloning machine in there somewhere..." He whispered to Jack, remembering how at least this many had been slaughtered before. And probably many times before that, judging by the fact that they had actually taken the time to set up a trap for Leonard.

As soon as the men began piling out Jack automatically took the defensive stance. Though when they stopped coming out of the wood works, and they were completely surrounded she sighed a bit. This wasn't going to go to well she just knew it, and from the looks of everything it was probably going to get ugly. "You know . . . I think one of us is a bad luck charm," she said with a grin as she looked at Mikey. "Though they were out numbered both her and Mikey carried guns, and she had her own power she could use. Granted though even with the guns the men could still swamp them. Though she was kind of hoping that this wouldn't turn south. If it did her priority was to get Mikey out, as it always had been when she realized it was her fault she had dragged him into all this. "We just come here to ask for help. We don't want to cause any problems with anyone. Just a little help and we will leave," she spoke wondering if she had been heard or what was going to happen.

"Dont look at me." Mikey said, responding to Jack's joke about bad luck. "My luck was fine till you showed up." He said in an equally joking manner. To tell the truth, she was probably the best friend he had ever had. All of his school years had been plauged with ridicule of one form or another. She was probably the first person to be kind to him in more than a way strangers were polite to each other.
"Well, we could try and fight or give up and see what they do. Your call." He said, gripping one of the pistols he had in his hand. At this point, he wasnt much concerned with the prospect of taking a human life. He'd always been fairly disattached to morals of that sort, but the past day and a half had severed the ties he had to it completely.

Jack looked at Mikey, and then back at the group of miners. A small grin playing across her lips as she stared them down. "This wont do," she said under her breath as she flexed her hand slightly. "Were out numbered, and you'd run out of ammo before we took them all down," she said as she stood there counting their odds. "On a second thought, they did threaten us first, and all we did was come here to ask a question," she said as she looked at Mikey. "I like your idea," she said as she raised her hand, and what seemed to be a bright blue torrent of wind circling her hand seemed to appear. "Lets make this fair. I'll go first," she said as she waved her hand across the front of her, and the ground in front of them turned to ice as several of the miners feet froze in place. "I've been wanting to try that," she said with a grin. Turning back her hand caught a pipe as it came down, and in turn she brought her foot around and kicked the miner into his companions. "I think it's your turn to play," she said as she looked back to Mikey.

"Well, it wont be as impressive as that..." Mikey thought, raising the Glock 20 in a firing position and aimed for a target. He tried to priotitize who was the biggest threat, and settled on the ones with the bows. He lined up a shot, and squeezed the trigger once, twice, three times. The material of the miner suit did nothing to stop the bullets, and the 10mm rounds tore into the man like nothing. He fell to the ground, dropping the makeshift bow and launching the knocked arrow toward the ground. The others, seeing the threat Mikey posed, fired the arrows they had ready.
Mikey had noticed the archers aiming at him moments before the arrows were launched and started running to the side. He narrowly missed the three makeshift arrows, hearing them clatter against the ground. The men, realizing their mistakes, tried to ready new arrows, but Mikey was quicker and better armed. The Glock fired off nine more times, spraying rounds in the men in rapid succession.
Seeing their archers go down, the rest of the men, numbering 20 or so, broke from the circle and started advancing in a run, hoping to swarm the two outsiders before they could cause any more trouble.
