A very dark carnival indeed. Since the original outbreak and further into the renovation, the older, aging rides had been taken down and removed from the area. The massive ferris wheel towers over the rest of the carnival, giving a fantastic view of the ground below. The electricity is on, but most of it has been shut off for a good long time. The tunnel of love, as beautiful as it once was, had been now turned into a crimson-colored gore fest; couples seeking shelter as well as just random survivors passing through for a free ride fell victim to the monsters lying in wait in the dark, murky waters beneath the duck and geese boats. The horror house, unsurprisingly, hasn't changed much over the years unless you take into consideration that very real horrors they lie in wait to those seeking a free thrill; the hall of mirrors has been pretty much decimated and a lot of the structure has been covered with gore and signs of struggle. The roller coaster in the back of the park is ultimately doomed; a large portion of the track is missing and most or all of the carriages have derailed. A large pile of rotting corpses is piled underneath the rubble of the collapsed platform and carriages- a very messy sight. This carnival is definitely not a safe place to be as there's literally no safe place to hide and the resources gained will be little to none

<:Samuel Varius enters the City Carnival:>
Sam jumped over the turn bars leading into the Carnival. Slowly he moved forward eyes alert for any signs of movement. He grabbed a map from the stack sitting at the entrance and stuffed it in his pocket. He saw a body dressed in blue a few feet to his left. Cautiously, he walked over pulling his pistol from the small of his back and pointing it at the corpse. As he reached the body he recognized the uniform of a Raccoon City Police officer. He kicked the body and took a step back waiting for it to move. After a moment or two he reached down to search the body for anything useful. Finding nothing he assumes that he isn’t the first to try. His heart leapt, maybe his sister was still here and armed to defend herself. He pulled out the map and looked for somewhere to search first. He decided the two most secure building would be the Horror House and the Tunnel of Love. He laughed quietly to himself as he made for the Horror House.
He moved quickly and silently through the abandoned fairway. He noted that there were no zombies nor the increasingly familiar song of the infected. He pushed this from his mind counting it as a blessing. He was a few yards from the Horror House when he caught movement out of the corner of his eye. He spun around gun drawn pointing at….nothing. He wondered if he was imagining things as he pointed the gun down at the ground. Then he heard the slow rasping breaths of nothing that could be human and spun to face the noise.
A monstrous creature crouched thirty feet from him. Its skin appeared to have been pealed off, the muscles underneath showing as it moved. Its exposed brain pulsed slightly oozing a tiny amount of blood and clear liquid. Its mouth opened and a long whip like tongue lashed the air menacingly. Sam fired his Beretta into the creature’s shoulder, staggering it momentarily. The creature “looked” at him with its eyeless head and crouched to jump and attack.
“Son of a b*tch” he said under his breath as he pulled the trigger as fast as he could. His gun clicked as his clip ran empty. The creature fell in a bloody heap mid-jump. He took a step closer to it wondering what the hell it was when a second creature crawled out from behind a broken cart that once sold cotton candy. A third fell in a eerily graceful leap from a broken down ride near by. They moved closer crawling with cat like grace despite their muscle and lack of skin, their tongues lashing angrily. “Forget this” Sam said disbelievingly. He turned and ran as fast as he could towards the Horror House, hoping he wouldn’t be followed and that the horrors inside were the lesser of two evils.
He dashed through the doorway and turned to shut the door. He braced against it as he felt a large object hit the door. Frantically looking around he spotted an iron bar and braced it against the door. The door shuddered again but held. He sighed with relief but knew it wouldn’t hold for long. He reached into his back pack and dug out his flashlight. He examined his pistol and sighed as he reloaded it and tucked it at the small of his back. He pulled out his shotgun and a few shells dropping the shells into his jacket pocket. He moved slowly forward looking for an emergency exit.
A few minutes passed with little happening as he wound through the Horror House. He began to relax and knew he shouldn’t have. Those things were bound to find him again any minute, but he was more worried about them getting Emiline.
As he moved through the Horror house he came upon another body. This one was dressed as any school aged student would be. Jeans and a T-shirt, but the shirt was torn to shreds. The body was nearly bisected it’s entrails flowing like a river of gore. Near the body was a small digital video recorder. He picked it up and examined it, it seemed to be in good condition if a little scratched. The battery panel was open and the batteries gone. He looked around shining his flash light over the ground near him. Not two feet from him the battery pack laid. He put the batteries back into the camera and pressed play to see what was on it.
A small group of people, mostly student aged, were running the camera jostling as they went getting closer to the main entrance of the Carnival. They entered the Carnival just like Sam did and moved quickly towards the horror house. “WHAT WERE THOSE THINGS?!” a girl yelled from behind the camera. “I don’t know, but we have to keep moving or they’ll get us too” His heart stopped as he recognized his sisters voice moments before the camera rested on her and he paused the tape taking in the joy of seeing his sister alive. Her hair was tied back from her heart shaped face. She wore a black jacket and blue jeans. Only 14 and already living and leading in the hell that has become of Raccoon City. Sam felt a surge of pride for his sister then a sense of fear. They had to be talking about those tongued horrors. He then continued the tape. “Yeah your ri….” the camera falls and lands pointing towards one of those creatures it’s tongue piercing a girls body. The Camera shakes as someone picks it up and runs into the horror house. The song of the infected resonated through the Horror house in the camera. “Turn that off…we have to get out of here.” Emiline said annoyed. “I’m going to try to call my brother…I hope he’s ok.” The camera goes black as someone switched it off. A moment later the picture returns. The camera and who ever was holding it were inside the Horror House not far from where Sam stood now. “We have to get out of here. Maybe we could go to the school or back to your house.” the camera focused on Emiline again. “Maybe but I don’t know if either place is safe…or if anywhere is.” The camera-man spun quickly just catching the end of a horrific event. Another student aged person was being eaten by three zombies. There was a scream from the background that sounded like Emiline. The camera fell again and went black. As it fell Emiline ran from the ghastly scene.
Sam swore under his breath and kicked the corpse lying by him. He put the camera into his backpack and threw it over his shoulder. He turned and gasped in fright. The shotgun blast thundered in the halls of the narrow amusement ride. The head of a cardboard zombie exploded. Laughing nervously Sam tried to slow his heart rate. He turned back and began searching for the exit. Only moments later he heard them. The slow rasping breaths he heard outside were close. He ran as fast as he could following the red “Exit” signs that hung in the darkness.
It was dark as he broke out of the emergency exit scanning the area for those whip-tongued monstrosities as he ran. Assessing the coast was clear he slowed to a walked, his heart heavy. He didn’t know where Emiline was, or if she was ok, but he did have two leads now. He couldn’t stop looking, not until he found her. He moved slowly towards the exit of the Carnival eyes pealed for the creatures expecting them to attack again. He realized why there were no zombies left, these creatures, what ever they were, had eaten everyone leaving only a few stranded corpses. He walked out of the Carnival head hung low trying to decide where to go next…

[Enter Louis & Emily (with NPCs)]
The group walked up to the back entrance of the Fun House, with only a small fence in the way. It stands only chest high, easily jumpable. Louis followed behind everyone else, keeping the rear safe. Nothing had followed them here, which was better then he had hoped for. After everyone got over the small fence, Louis jumped up, and stood high on top, getting a view of the place. The only way into the Carnival now was to go through the Fun House, something he hasnt even done as a child, little lone as a full grown man. The carnival never really interested him, if that was surprising enough. But regardless of the sunlight, he knew it would be nearly pitch dark inside.
As everyone entered, Louis once again took the rear, scoping out and making sure nothing came up behind them. Emily had her flashlight, aswell as himself attached to his .45 base. The majority of the place seemed reflective, which had it good to see the surroundings, but kept corners even darker. As they all went further inside, Rey could hear shuffling coming from over a wall, a thin lined wall. But she was sure everyone else heard it too, so she didnt need to alert anyone.

As the group entered the Fun House, she was trying to figure out how much more dangerthey put themselves in. Not only were they stuck in a Funhouse, but there was two new members walking with them. The only thing keeping her hopeful was the fact that she knew the man was a fellow officer whom was a pretty good shot. He also had managed to survive thus far.
Upon hearing some slow, squishy, shuffling, Emily shined her flashlight towards the area where it was coming from. To her suprise, it was only a mirror. She lowered her flashlight and glared. "Coming through her was a bad idea, but it's better thanhaving to fight through a horde of zombies outside the carnival," she muttered.
Rick, the new member, walked cautiously behind Emily. One hand on his weapon, another holding his daughter's hand. "Come on, Julie...Just stay beside daddy, okay?"
The little girl nodded eagerly, staying as close to her father as she possibly could without tripping him. Emily looked back at them and tilted her head. "Where's your wife anyway, Rick? What was her name? Cheryl?"
Rick frowned. "She died early on..one of those damned infected got her," he replied, thinking about his wife. Emily frowned a little before stopping in her tracks. "Sorry, I didn't know..."
Suddenly she looked around again, noticing a figure in the mirrors surrounding them. Each one of them were something undead. Putting her arm out, she carefully took a good look around.
"Oh damn, one of those thing's are nearby...but these are only it's reflections, where the hell'sthe real one coming from?!"

Louis aimed around with his .45 and kept Rey close. As much as she said she was used to encounters with the undead, he had made a promise to Joey. As everyone kept cauious of the surroundings, Rey started taking shots at the mirrors, or undead, whichever the rounds hit first. After they had broken, she was grabbed from behind, nearly dragged onto the ground. Louis ran forward, and then use his knee to strike the zombie backward, mashing in a good portion of its face. Using his foot to hold it down, Louis stomped brain matter onto the ground with his heel. But as quick as the victory came, he spun around, hearing more moans from further inside the funhouse.
"Its gonna get darker once we leave the opening, whoever has a flashlight, make sure to guide the others along aswell..." As much as Louis' intentions were good, his main concern was Rey, keep the light close to her more so then the others. He turned to Rey, and then handed over his own .45 and told her to lead. Louis began filling his empty magazines with the 9mm rounds in the boxes, but the darkness was proving a challenge.

Emily scoped out the room and saw a small rectangle, sized, crack of light at the end of the room. Shining her flashlight at it, she nodded ahead and started walking carefully towards it. Rick had followed close behind with his daughter, shotgun raised incase anything else decided to pop out on them.
"I'm pretty sure we're towards the exit, let's hurry and get out of this place," she told the others.
"And then what? Why the hell are we even going back into Raccoon?" Rick asked, somewhat annoyed. Emily looked back at the man and glared. "Because the outsikirts of the city are heavily barricaded with all kinds of f**ked up things on the other side. The only safe exit would be the highway. And that highway is across the city."
Rick contemplated this for a moment. "I get where you're going with this...but crossing through the city just to make it to the highway is even more hazardous. What makes you think the highway won't lead into some undead ambush?"
"The fact that I just came from there. All I saw was crashed cars and dead, burnt up,bodies that were too charred to rise again. So let's go. Or you and your kid can follow your wife's path and DIE. Surely you don't want that for your daughter, now do you?"
Rick gritted his teeth. "You're right...well, let's go then."
Before they could press on, Emily noticed some pattering of what sounded like wet feet. She shined her light around, seeing a figure abruptly go by.

"None of us are going to die if we stay together..." He spoke out in a quiet, groggy voice. Louis kept with the group, and then looked at Rey as the others seemingly fought. Would be great if they could keep their voices down even, or not worry about exactly where they were going. But, it seemed Emily had a plan, which was a bonus on keeping up a common goal. He contenued to reload his magazines. Once it was finally done, Louis inserted a clip and then slung it across his side once again. Rey handed back the .45 back to him, and then pulled out her own handgun to keep backup. He did think about going back to the city, Joey knew thats where they would go, did he have a plan?
Rey made sure to cover Louis, even though he had survived this long, without the proper partner support, things can get pretty raw pretty fast. Louis himself knew what it was like to watch over a partner, he still had to meet up with his own group. But he couldnt just leave Rey alone, could he? No, that would be stupid. If they were heading across down, that would mean they were going to end up hitting the Raccoon City Airport, and he couldnt pass by there without staying, thats where he planned to meet the others. "Behind us!" Rey opened her mouth to warn the others that there was a number of infected coming from the rear. Louis broke out of thought, and spun around with his gun aimed. "Were near the exit, just get out of here!"

Emily spun around and took aim with her handgun. Deciding shecould keep the distance between them better with the rifle, she use that instead. As long as Louis kept his light flashed among the undead, she could pick them off from the front.
Glancing back at Rick she nodded. "Hey! You take Rey up front! We'll holdthem back," she ordered. She then started picking off two zombies, speaking up once more toward Louis.
"He can be trusted, don't worry. He's a great shot and a good man," she reassured him. With that, Rick picked his daughter up in one arm and grabbed Rey's arm. "C'mon kid! We'll wait outside the exit. Here, use this flashlight to guide us out," he asked of her, handing her his flashlight.

Louis nodded to Rey, this was a trap, and they walked right into it. He looked over at Emily from behind him, and saw that she was aiming the rifle like a pro, taking out the undead easily. while aiming the .45 at the closest ones, he began to take them out one by one, waiting for them to get close enough so that he wouldnt miss, and then fire. "Make each shot count!" This was risky, but it saved ammo, something didnt have a lot of for his sidearm. After clearing out a path to the side, Louis motioned with the flashlight, showing Emily which direction to move quickly. They both darted through the rest of the funhouse, toward the exit. Louis could hear gunshots, something he wasnt to keen on at the moment.
Rey held the light, as they made it outside. She wasnt too happy about leaving Louis and Emily to fend off the hoard by themselves, but she knew they could handle it. Seeing that there was a number of infected outside aswell, she took action, and began to fire upon them. Her aim wasnt that great, but it did the trick, so long as she didnt get overwhelmed. After picking off a number of them, Rey could hear the click of her gun. Moving backwards fast, she yelled out to Rick "Hey! Get them with the shotgun while theyre in a group!"

Rick nodded and pushed his daughter back towards Rey. "Got it covered, kiddo," he told her, shooting off a loud bang, pumping it, then shooting off once more. The zombies bodies were nearly obliterated by the blasts of gunpowder the shotgun sent off. There were still a few, but he figured he had it covered if he switched to his handgun.
Back in the funhouse, Emily and Louis had to detour away from the exit since there were some of those damned things blocking their path. Muttering curses at herself, Emily pushed through one of the rooms, letting off another round into one of the monsters that came into view of Louis' flashlight.
"They weren't here an hour ago! Where the hell did they come from?!" she yelled, angered by her mistake.

Rey covered herself, aswell as the little girl, when the shotgun boomed. Looking around, she saw that there was more coming, the after effect of making so much noise. But she shook it off, and then searched for a higher point, where they could all make a plan. Pulling out her 9mm, she switched to a full magazine, and then pointed it toward one of the larger vending stands. "Over there!" Seeing Emily and Louis come out from the funhouse, she motioned to them.
Louis was following behind Emily, running toward the group. He noticed Rey was motioning for the large vending stand, it would be a good vantage point for them to keep out of the way of the infected. Keeping up by her side, Louis spoke out in a lower tone. "Emily, make sure they get up safely... Im going to try and lure the infected away from here, you can cover me with the rifle..."

Emily nodded, determined to do things right this time. "Right, goodluck,"she told the man. She approached Rick and grabbedhis shoulder. "C'mon, get going, I'll take it from here, Rick."
The older man shook his head. "No, I can't let you waste all your ammo. I'll help," he explained, smiling lightly at the woman. Emily returned the smile.
"Rey, take Julie up to the highpoint with you. Her dad's gonna help me and Louis fend off the zombies."
Immediately after that was said, Emily started picking off a few zombies near Louis, Rick by her side, helping. The child's eyes filled with tears as she was pulled away from her father. "Daddy!" she cried out.

Louis had already ran off, driving the infected away from everyone, and toward him. He began to fire his .45 slowely, making sure to only pick off the ones that got close to him. Each and every one of the grizally walkers had their attention on him, and didnt slow down pace to get what they wanted. Carefully, he took out the ones that were getting closer, seemingly he was getting himself into a deep situation. But whats when he heard the click of the gun, he was out of ammo.
Not long following, he heard the rifle shoot off, and one of the infected close to him go down. It was Emily and Rick, they were back him up. Taking the opportunity, Louis holstered the gun in his coat, and then ran back into cover as the gunfire got louder.

Emily watched as Louis ran to catch up with Rey and Julie. Before long she had to reload, leaving all the pressure on poor Rick. "Rick I---"
"I'm on it," he replied before she could even finish her sentence. As she reloaded, she had taken another glance at the others to make sure they were okay. Seeing as they were, she looked back over at Rick to see one of them getting too close from behind. "Ri--" being cut off once more, one of the undead had snuck up on her, grabbing ahold of her and stretching it's mouth wide open.
"Get...OFF!" she yelled through gritted teeth, pushing the rifle between her and the zombie. It thrusted it's face at her, unable to reach her due to the barred weapon between them. Emily struglled beneath it's weight before finally forcing her knee into it's rotting abdomen, pushing it off of her forcefully.
Spinning around, she quickly finished her reload time and shot at the approaching zombie, leaving Rick to look back at her oddly. "Sorry," she muttered.

Louis bolted for the stand, and then jumped up, grabbing the top with both arms. Rey helped to pull him up, but one he was up there, he seemed to have another idea. Laying on his back, Louis searched around inside his jacket, there had to be one more magazine left, he always kept a reserve. Finding it at the back, replaced it with his empty, strapping it back into his coat. But he didnt fire it, he couldnt wasnt anymore ammo, something had to be done. Putting his own gun away, he grabbed Reys from her jeans pocket, and then ordered her to run for the entrace to this place. "Get out of here! Were just drawing them closer, we have to leave, now!"
Rey nodded, and helped the younger girl down. Louis was motioning at Emily and Rick to let them know they should leave quickly. After he waved his arms, Louis leaped down onto the ground, then ran off toward the entrance, keeping an equal distance between Rey & Julie and Emily & Rick. He kept more focus on Rey and Julie with the handgun, for the simple face they were unarmed. As Emily and Rick fought theyre way through, Louis regrouped with the other two, still moving toward the entrance, and waiting for Emily and Rick.
