Gray had to admit, the attitude of these two unnerved him. Was there... Something wrong with them? ''Wacko?'' He echoed, wondering what they meant by all of this. Truth be told, Gray suddenly wanted nothing more than to get out of here. The knives and the odd attitude, seems like this guy was pretty crazy, and the girl didn't seem all that stable either.
''So, I think I'm in the wrong place, I'll just be going...'' Keeping one hand close to his gun, Gray took a few steps away from the pair.

Remus continued to smile and stare at the new man. It wasn't until Jennifer spoke again that his humour broke.
"Aww, no! Please don't go! I haven't had a new friend in awhile!" Jennifer pleaded with the man, the tears that hadn't yet left her eyes audible in her voice. Remus' playful demeanour snapped instantly. His mouth snapped to a solid line, and his narrowed eyes locked with the new man.
"Yes, please don't leave yet. If you did so, it would make Jen unhappy. You aren't trying to make her unhappy, are you?" Remus spoke to the man in a deathly serious chill, never breaking eye contact. Remus' right hand twitched sporadically at the nine inch bowie knife on his thigh. He stared at the man so intensely it was as if he was trying to pierce him with his thoughts. 'If a single tear leaves Jennifer's eyes, I will gut you and turn you into a puppet that she will always have to play with.' Remus thought to himself, his right fingers now running up and down the length of the blade on his right thigh. 'Or maybe I'll cut off your arms and tie you to the wall, so she can use you for target practice. So many options. So many options.'

"Ok, ok... I wont go.'' His tone was cautious, and he didn't take any more steps towards the pair. Ever perceptive, Gray did notice Remus' hand near one of the knives twitching. Getting stabbed was not on Gray's to do list, so he did not leave the pair.
"...What do you want with me?'' Gray asked, his tone becoming more and more cautious. One hand was now clutching his pistol in its holster tightly, ready to shoot the man with so many knives. His eyes darted around the room quickly as he looked for possible escape options. If he ran upstairs, he could climb out of a window, but ran the risk of becoming trapped. If he ran outside, well, he did not know how determined this crazy man would be...

When the man said that he wouldn't be leaving, Jennifer's eye grew wide with excitement. She clapped her hands together and jumped up and down in place.
"Yay! Remy did you hear that? He's not leaving!" Excitedly Jennifer ran over to the new man and hugged his legs. "Oh boy, we've gotta think of a new game to play! What's your name mister?"
It took a moment for Remus to process what the man had said, and Jennifer's resulting attitude. As it dawned on him that the man was staying and Jennifer was happy again, he clenched his hand into a fist to keep from grabbing the knife. He bowed his head and lifted a shaking hand to his face, forgetting to reply to Jennifer.
Reaching into his bag, Remus grabbed his pack of cigarettes and lit one shakily. He sucked in a puff of smoke and inhaled deeply. He felt the initial calm rush over him, but didn't dare look at the man yet. Remy the Reaper wasn't quite gone yet. Remus would need a minute for the urges to subside. He'd let Jennifer deal with the man until then.

Grayson sighed in relief when it looked like he was safe, for the moment. He also took out a cigarette and lit it slowly, feeling the urge to smoke upon seeing the man with so many knives smoking. ''Name's Gray.'' His eyes still watched the pair of them cautiously. Gray definitely was not staying with these people, and was trying to find a good moment to make his escape.
''Y'know, I always thought hide and seek was a pretty good game.'' He smiled as naturally as he could, thinking that that game would be a perfect opportunity to escape. If he spotted this pair again in the future, his policy would be to shoot first, or rather, shoot the guy first, the girl still seemed harmless.

Jen smiled eagerly up at the man. "I love hide and seek! Remus did you hear that? Gray wants to play hide and seek!" Remus' eyes snapped open and locked on the man. Hide and seek? This man, Gray wanted to play hide and seek? Not likely. Remus looked at Jennifer and his face softened into a smile.
"Alright Jen, we'll play hide and seek. Why don't you go hide, and Gray and I will look for ya together." When he finished his sentence, Remus shot Gray a meaningful glance before returning his smile to Jennifer, who was now scowling.
"Two seekers isn't fair." she pouted indignantly. Remus chuckled.
"Don't worry, Gray and I will look for you together. We won't split up so it'll be fair, right Gray?" Jennifer thought about this for a moment before seeming to be content with it.
"Okay!" She said cheerfully and skipped to the only visible hallway in the room. "Count to 50 before you come to look." She called back to them as she scurried down the hallway. When she was out of sight, Remus stood up and walked to the front of the desk. Leaning back against it, he folded his arms and stared at Gray. 'Let's see what your next move is buddy.' Remus thought to himself, as the grin slowly spread across his face.

Gray glared at Remus, hate clear in his eyes. Well, that was one plan ruined. It seemd Mr. Knives knew Gray would want to escape, and was out to stop it. Perhaps the key was in the little girl... The guy certainly seemed to care for her. But that might be too risky. Hurting her might cause Mr. Knives to live up to his name.
Maybe it would be easier just to shoot him now... But then he had a new idea. ''W-wait, did she go down that hallway?! Jesus, man, I was just down there! There were like ten zombies down there, I had to run! She might get bitten!'' Gray was pretty convincing in his tale, and looked ready to run after the girl, at Remus' signal. Perhaps in the confusion of chasing her, Gray could slip away...

Remus burst into laughter at Gray's concern, whether it was real or not he didn't care.
"I may be insane Mr. 'Gray', but I have enough sense to remember that you walked through the front doors." Remus took a long drag of his cigarette before continuing. "As to the possibility of there being creatures in this building, I wouldn't doubt it. The thing you don't realize, is that I've taught Jennifer how to take care of herself very well. She could easily kill a few ghouls," Remus raised his cigarette to his lips again, maintaining a level stare at Gray. "Not to mention a man with such a shaky trigger hand."
Remus smiled a devilish grin as he closed his eyes and lowered his head. "Your obviously no fool Gray. You know that something's not quite right with me. Let me give you a little piece of advice. I could give a damn whether or not you want to be here. Your as insignificant to me as a mosquito on the back of the sports page. However, that little girl, that really wants to play hide and seek with you, is the only reason your alive. If I were you, I would try my hardest, to look for her while still making the game fun. If you run, before she's content, I will put a knife in your spinal cord." Remus took one final drag of his cigarette before flicking it to the side. "And if you touch one hair on her head..." Remus opened his crazed eyes and stared directly into the face of the man in front of him. "I'll make you wish you were lucky enough to be turned into a mindless zombie who has no concept of what pain really is."

Gray listened to the man's words carefully. His eyes narrowed, and he unholstered his pistol, aiming it at Remus' head firmly from across the room.
''And how, Mr. Psychopath...'' Gray took another step back, just to be safe. ''Do you think your going to stop a bullet? No doubt, you psychos all think your invincible but a bullet in your head ought to stop you, and I'll be long gone before your little friend even discovers your still-fresh corpse. I don't want to play hide and seek, I just want to find a missing person, earn a huge wad of cash and get blind stinking drunk. I say I walk out of here and you find someone else to play with, and I'll let you live...''
Gray decided he was going to avoid the old horror movie cliche of waiting until the last second to shoot. If that guy's hand even touched a knife, Gray was going to shoot.

As Gray spoke, Remus' smile grew wider and wider. When he finished his hero speach, Remus burst into a fit of laughter. Standing up from his slouch against the desk, Remus began to walk slowly towards the man, his arms still folded.
"I like you Gray. You've got a certain 'take on the world' finesse about you, and I can appreciate that. Let me ask you something though. Have you ever even killed a man before?" Remus smiled while he let this question sink in, continuing to make a slow circle to Gray's left. "I honestly doubt you have. Maybe a zombie here or there, perhaps even your lone thug or criminal. Me on the other hand, I earned the nickname Remy the Reaper with good reason. I've killed so many innocent people without a second thought, that I've lost count of them, and that fact puts me leaps and bounds ahead of you. Even if you did become determined to pull that trigger, the fact is, that I'm still a living human being, and the instant of hesitation that would cause, is more time then I need to place a knife directly between your eyes." Remus stopped his circle fifteen feet to Gray's left. "Now, you can either walk down that hallway, play with the girl for a few minutes, and you'll leave this place without so much as a scratch. Or, you can try your luck with me, and I promise you, even if you do manage to kill me, you won't be leaving this building unharmed. How well do you think you'll manage in this wasteland as a cripple? It would be amusing to watch from hell and find out."

The offer was tempting. And in the end, Gray took it, his pistol lowering slowly, but remaining in his hand. This girl, did she know about how crazy Remus really was? He had to tell her, give her a chance to escape... ''Ok... You should know that I'm stupidly stubborn though. If you stab me in the back, I'll probably turn and shoot you before I die.''
He chuckled at what was only partly a joke, and raised his voice. ''Ready or not, here I come...'' He said, before pacing down the hallway steadily, checking behind and under everything he found, and hoping silently that the girl hadn't been eaten by some ghoul. If she was dead, this psycho would probably be tipped over the edge.

Remus smiled at Gray's stubborn acceptance. It wasn't until the man began walking down the hall to look for Jennifer that Remus released his grip on the throwing knives attached to his forearms. Remus followed after Gray, smiling and turning over his thoughts. This man certainly would make an interesting opponent, and Remus was genuinely disappointed that he hadn't made a move to attack. However, Jennifer's happiness was everything to Remus, and if this man could contribute in any way to it, that would be more then enough to let him walk out of this building alive.
----------------
Jennifer sat crouched at the end of the hallway, behind a large chair that was positioned in front of a big doorway. She peaked over the edge of the chair and giggled as she saw Gray walking down the hall, looking everywhere for her. She crouched back down behind the chair, planning on jumping out and scaring the older man when he got near. The part of her mind that was corrupted by Remus had planned on jokingly aiming her pistol at him when he got near. The sane part of her won that fight however. She decided to stick with the surprise.

As Gray wandered the hallway, searching for the small girl, he spoke to Remus, a slight smile on his face.
''Y'know, you might be a psychopath and everything, but I actually kinda like you and your little friend. The pair of you are so f**king carefree. Here the world is, ending slowly around you, and the two of you are in here looking for people to play games with. It's almost poetic. Part of me wishes I could live like you. Without the murdering people part.''
Grayson chuckled once he had finished speaking. Finally, he'd checked everything he could find but this one big chair at the end of the hallway. ''I guess she's nowhere to be found.'' He sat down in the very chair she was undoubtedly behind. If he was right and she was behind him, maybe this would amuse her. He had to keep her amused if he wanted to keep his life, it seemed. ''Guess I'll just sit here till she starves.'' He lay back in the chair and sighed in an exaggerated manner.

Remus smirked at Gray's comment. With a shrug he replied,
"You know what the problem is with most people? They worry too much. Am I gonna survive this? Are they gonna kill me? Am I gonna get eaten? It's all the same. Everyone is too focused on staying alive, when they should focus on actually living. That's all that Jen and I do." Remus leaned against the wall beside the chair that Gray was sitting in. He closed his eyes and smiled to himself. Jennifer was obviously behind the chair, but this man really was making an effort to entertain her. That made him all right by Remus. Anything that kept the young girl entertained was a good thing. It looked like he'd have to keep his promise after all.
--------------
Jen giggled to herself when she heard the Gray sit down in the chair and sigh. She reached her tiny hands up and grabbed onto the arm of the chair. Then, all at once she jumped up.
"Boo!" She exclaimed as loudly as she could before succumbing to a fit of giggles.

Gray jumped up and pretended to stumble in an impressive feat of mock surprise. ''Gah!'' He shouted, an expression of surprise on his face showing off his severely mild acting skills, turning to the girl that jumped out at him. ''Wow, your good at this!'' He grinned and breathed heavily in mock relief. Hopefully this little show entertained the girl for now.
''Well, that sure was a good game, but I don't know how much longer I can stay...'' His words were spoken truly carefully, one eye never straying far from Remus and those knives of his. He did not want to offend either of the pair, less he feel one of those knives slipping into his spine.
Gray found himself unable to get into this whole 'Let's not care about the apocalypse' mood simply because of the unnerving manner of Remus. At least this pair had not noticed his crowbar, hidden under his jacket at the back of his belt. It wasn't a very large crowbar and was not very noticable. Maybe, just maybe, Gray would need that secrecy.
