Remus burst into laughter and started clapping for Jennifer.
"Wow great job Jen! First he couldn't find you and then you scare him half to death. You're getting better at this." Jennifer beamed up at Remus with an ecstatic smile. She turned to Gray.
"What are we gonna play next?" She asked excitedly. Remus shot a glance at Gray, a promise was a promise after all, and Remus was a man of his word.
"Uh Jen..." Remus began, but the sentence was cut short. With his right hand, Remus grabbed the knife on his left forearm. With deadly precision he threw it inches to the left of Gray's ear, into the skull of the creature emerging from the stairwell behind him. Grabbing the six inch knife from his left arm, he rushed forwards and pushed Gray in the other direction, as several more ghouls emerged from the stairwell.
"Grab Jen and run." Remus shouted to Gray while slamming his knife into the temple of one of the ghouls at the same time he ripped the first knife out of the initial creature's skull. "I'll catch up to you, but if anything happens to her, it's you neck." Remus punctuated this statement by stabbing a third ghoul in the neck with both knives and thrusting outwards, decapitating it.

Gray whipped out his pistol and was about to shoot Remus, when he realised his ear wasn't in pain or bleeding everywhere. It was then that he realised he was not the target for the knife. Spinning round to face the sudden horde, Gray was going to volunteer to kill the horde as he had a gun, but Remus seemed so goddamn efficient with those knives, Gray decided he should just leave him to it.
Instead, he turned and picked up Jen, carrying her like a baby. ''C'mon, kid, we're outta here.'' With that he sprinted back to the reception area. He propped a chair under the handle to the door, stopping anyone getting in from the hallway with any ease, and aimed his gun at the door. Confident that a paticularly fast zombie or even a licker had followed them, he lowered his gun and sighed, turning to Jen. ''You ok, kiddo?''
Now if only Gray could have a lucky break, meaning the zombies would murder Remus for him.

As soon as Gray had placed her down Jennifer ran to the door and grabbed the chair trying to move it. Unfortunately, it was wedged in tight and she wan't strong enough to move it. She turned to Gray the tears welling up in her eyes.
"We h-have to help R-Remmy!" she pleaded with Gray, sniffing back the tears. Suddenly there was a loud bang against the door, followed promptly by a guttural snarl. Alarmed Jennifer screamed and back away from the door. Helplessly, she looked to Gray, her eyes begging him to do something.
----------
Remus swore under his breath. The horde that was emerging from the stairwell was too large. Several of the creatures had managed to get past him and chase after Gray. Remus looked up the stairwell, he had to keep moving.
"All right Gray, it looks like you get to play with Jen for a bit longer." he muttered to himself while continuing to take down any creature unlucky enough to get too close to him. "Let's see how you handle the pressure." Remus delivered a powerful kick to the sternum of one of the swarming undead, knocking it and several of the ghouls behind it to the ground. Taking the opportunity he ran for the staircase and shouted as loudly as he could, hoping to lure the creatures after him. "Hey brain rot, come and get your meal!"

Gray took a step back, startled, when some ghouls began banging against the door. He kneeled next to Jen and looked her in the eyes. ''Listen kiddo, I need you to hide behind that desk there. Not only that, but I need you to make absolutely no noise. If you do that, I promise I'll help Remmy.'' Confident that she'd listen to him, he turned back to the door.
First of all, he took his crowbar from the back of his belt in his other hand. Then, after taking a deep, slightly scared, breath he kicked the chair hard so that it fell from under the handle. Almost immediately, several ghouls burst into the room. Gray delivered the first a nice welcoming present in the form of a crowbar to the temple. The zombie dropped like a sack of bricks, and several others lunged for Gray. He cracked one across the skull with the butt of his pistol, not wanting to attract more enemies by firing his gun.
Gray did well, initially. A third fell to his crowbar, and a fourth. Everything looked clear. But then, out of nowhere, a fifth ghoul lurched through the door and grabbed ahold of Gray's shoulder. Its jaw clamped firmly and ripped, the sound of his clothing tearing echoing through the otherwise quiet reception. ''No!'' Gray screamed, pushing the infected back and lashing out with his crowbar hard into the side of the zombie's head, semi-decapitating it.
After killing the ghoul he dropped both of his weapons and tore off his jacket, and then his shirt. Feeling his arm desperately, sweat already dripping down his temple, he sighed the most relieved sigh imaginable when he realised the zombie had torn only clothing. Sighing once more for good measure, and kicking the zombie, he put his shirt and jacket back on and practically collapsed against the wall. An experience like that did not go down easy.

Jennifer did as she was told and crouched down behind the counter. When she heard the creatures break into the room she covered her ears to try to block out the sound. Soon after, the sounds of the fight died down and everything was quiet. Slowly, she stood up and peeked over the side of the counter. She saw several of the zombies laying motionless on the ground and Gray collapsed on the floor looking at his shoulder.
"Hey mister! Are you okay?" she called out to him, but he didn't seem to hear her. Frustrated she walked out from behind the counter and over to Gray. She stared at him indignantly, she hated being ignored. "Mister!" Jen shouted while shaking him.

Gray brushed the kid's hand away from him and smirked. ''Y-yeah. I'm fine. C'mon, let's go save your buddy Remmy.'' He wiped the sweat from his brow with one hand and got up slowly, still a little in shock from such a close encounter. Perhaps if he saved the psycho from what seemed like a large number of ghouls (or he'd have returned by now) then the pair would finally let him go.
Ensuring that Jen was behind him and that no ghouls would approach from behind, he traced their steps back to the area that the ghouls had first approached from. Corpses of the zombies squelched underfoot, causing Gray to gag slightly. But Remus was nowhere to be seen. The only way he could have gone would be up the stairs... And Gray didn't exactly want to go up there, they could become trapped by zombies.
''Crap...'' He muttered. Grayson turned to consult Jen, just to see a zombie directly behind her, ready to pounce. ''Crap!'' He echoed. His weapons were not to hand, so instead he stepped around Jennifer quickly and tackled the zombie, pushing it against the wall with some force, its very spine cracking audibly. The detective then grabbed the head of the ghoul as its jaw snapped feebly and slammed it against the wall, effectively executing the enemy. ''You... You ok kid?''

As Gray turned around to check on Jennifer, she let out a small scream, as the head of a zombie loomed ominously over her shoulder. Suddenly it was pulled away, revealing a laughing Remus. He had the head impaled on one of his larger knives and was dancing around with it.
"You two shoulda seen the looks on your faces!" He exclaimed while bursting into another fit of laughter. Jennifer put her hands on her hips and pouted.
"I wasn't scared you know!" She yelled out. Remus merely stuck his tongue out at her and wiggled the head closer to her face. She squealed and backed away in a fit of giggles.
"I don't know, you looked pretty scared to me." Remus taunted. Looking at Gray, Remus held the head up to him as well. "What about you? Were you not scared either?" Remus questioned, the badly hidden taunt evident in his voice.

((By the way, I've decided I want Gray killed off soon. If an opportunity presents itself, feel free.))
Gray smirked at the sudden appearance of Remus. ''Scared? No, I'm tall, I saw you behind the head, idiot.'' Laughing the sudden scaring of Jen off, he holstered his weapons and smiled surprisingly warmly. Truth be told, he did not feel in danger around these two anymore. ''So, Remmy, I don't suppose I'm free to go yet?'' He wandered towards the exit of the room, knowing that the zombie threat was absent for the moment. He found himself sighing in relief once more after his close call before.

Remus chuckled and followed slowly after Gray, Jennifer close on his heels.
"Well, I don't know, what do you say Jen?" Jennifer skipped to one of the torn couches and jumped onto it.
"I want to play more games!" She shouted excitedly while bouncing up and down. Remus closed his eyes, and sighed.
"I don't know Jen, it's getting late, and you do look pretty tired. It might be time for a nap soon." Jennifer pouted indignantly.
"But I'm not ti-hih-hurd..." She said with a yawn, trailing off. Remus smiled gently.
"Sure you're not Jen. Come on and lay down. We can play some more games when you wake up." Jennifer started to protest, but with another yawn and drooping eyes, she decided against it and lay down on the couch instead. Remus glanced quickly at Gray before walking over to Jennifer and sitting down at her head. He reclined and placed a hand on Jennifer's shoulder, locking his gaze with Gray.
"Well?" He questioned simply.

[Sarai Calev enters Areosys Labs from Main Street]
The Mercedes pulled up in the parking lot of the Areosys building and Sarai quietly and quickly parked the SUV and waited. It was always her thing… she waited. She never acted rashly before knowing her surroundings. Waiting, though, didn’t mean that she was idle. She was looking over her gear, checking ammo, pulling on her jacket and looking over the building. It was only two stories tall and very unassuming. That didn’t mean much to Sarai. Nowadays, anything could be anything and you didn’t live long on assumptions or guessing.
With no attack coming at her or the vehicle, she finally exited it, quietly shutting the door and moving toward the building. Her TAR was in her hands and she sighted down the scope in front of her. It was like it was tied to her eyes… wherever she looked, the business end was there as well.
She stepped over debris and broken glass on the way to the front doors. Off in the distance gunfire and moaning could be heard. The good thing… if there was a good thing… was that if she was quiet, the zombies would be attracted to the moan of other zombies.
But if they found her…
She didn’t think about it. Her job was to kill the last Hamas cell terrorist. The undead, the collapse of the world, the utter chaos around her… that would have to wait its turn.
The front door was destroyed, the glass broken. At least that wouldn’t slow her down, she thought. Carefully she entered the Lobby of the building. Just inside, she stopped and looked around… and listened. The lobby was completely white with a large mahogany desk at the far end. A waiting area with white furniture was off to the side. Blood and guts and skulls were all over the floor, like a battle had erupted within the halls. She had no doubt that building held the ghouls, but it also might have held a terrorist. She made her way over to the Directory on the wall, dropping the barrel of her gun just for a moment to read it.
There, on the second floor was the Synthetics Division. That was the most likely place the terrorist would go. Sarai looked toward the elevator and knew that it wasn’t going anywhere. The inside was covered in blood and the door were bowed in and broken.
That left the stairs. Quietly, Sarai made her way to the stairs that led to the 2nd level.
:: EDIT 09/12/2011 ::
Sarai was almost at the door that led to the stairs when she heard the muffled moan of the undead. Swiftly she spun around, pointing the muzzle of her TSAR back toward the broken front doors that led to the parking lot.
Nothing.
She backed up to the stairs, and put her hand on the doorknob. She was about to turn it when she heard the moan coming from behind her... through the door.
She whipped her hand away from the door and aimed at the small window that was right at eye level.
She couldn't see past the undead, partially torn faces of the undead that were crowding the door... the door she almost flung open. A sense of cold dread ran down her back, making her shudder.
The door itself seemed to bow out a little as the weight of all the bodies pressing on it was more than the frame could handle. It wasn't going to hold for much longer.
Sarai was about to move out of the building when she heard a car pull up. Outside, a white van pulled up. It had bloody smears all along the outside. She saw the driver put it in park and then exit the van, looking around. She immediately recognized the man from his several warrants in Israel. He was the cell leader and only known by his nickname, the "Scythe".
Luckily for Sarai, he was checking his surroundings first. That gave her a chance to hide. She moved through the open door into the Director's Office, shutting it behind her. The room was clear of any undead, but it was evident a struggle had happened in there. There she waited until the Scythe made his way down the corridor. Then she would spring her trap and the world would be done with the vile creature.
:: EDIT 09/14/2011 ::
The Scythe moved into the building, carefully, quietly. He carried an AKM and was dressed in black military fatigues. At his waist he carried a small satchel with wires hanging out of it. To Sarai, it screamed explosives. She suddenly realized what he was here to do. Hook the explosives up to the jet fuel and other flamable material and blow it sky high. The resulting explosion and fireball would be enough to take out most of the City Center. It would rip apart any of the defenses already set up by the survivors and leave the entire area open to the undead.
Of course, he would be miles away, that damn cowardly scum, thought Sarai. She knew that she couldn't let him succeed.
Part of her wanted to announce her presence... to let him know that it was she, a Daughter of Israel, that would bring his death, but she had to strike before he found her. As he reached the door to the Director's office, the moan of the undead drew his attention behind him.
Springing into action, Sarai, flung the door open and shot him three times with her handgun - once in the knee, once in the shoulder and once in his gun hand. The Scythe fell to the floor with a curse, his gun skittering across the floor. He looked up at her as she stepped out of the Director's office, Desert Eagle trained on his forehead.
"My only wish is that I could kill you a dozen times over. Sadly, I won't be the one to kill you at all."
Holstering her handgun, she picked up his weapon and walked off toward the front door. At the threshold, she turned back to see Scythe trying to crawl after her. She raised his gun and pulled back on the trigger, emptying the magazine in the span of 2 seconds. The Scythe ducked down, but she wasn't aiming for him.
Behind him, the bullets chewed through the door knob, shredding the lock. It burst open from the weight of the undead. They spilled into the hallway, piling on each other. Scythe started cursing at Sarai and tried to stand up on his good leg. Sarai pulled out her handgun and shot him through the other leg. The crack of the explosion caught the attention of the undead and they swarmed over Scythe, ripping and biting at his skin. Grayish bloody hands grabbed at his face, ripping his mouth open.
Then he was covered with the undead. Satisfied, Sarai exited the building and quickly made her way back to her SUV. She hopped in and, without a second look, she drove off, her mission completed.
[Sarai leaves Areosys Labs, bound for Raccoon City Airport]
