Emily quickly shook her head at Taylor when he ordered her to run into another room and lock the door behind her. The doctor back at the hospital told her almost the same thing, to go back into her room, and he ended up being killed seconds later. If she would have stayed in that room, she would have been dead as well either by zombies or by lack of things needed to survive.
How was she supposed to know that after hiding, she was not going to be left alone? For all she knew, Taylor and Jim could be killed and she would end up staying locked up in that little room until she starved to death. Or, if they did die or if they left without her, she could escape eventually and become a victim to whatever was outside.
"No. I'm not going to be locked up in that little room alone. I'm going to fight, too." Emily answered with a straight look on her face to prove that she wasn't kidding. If Taylor wanted her to be in that service closet, he would have to pick her up and place her in there himself like a parent would do with a naughty child.
She held up the taser Jim had given to her previously and held it in front of her. Somehow she had a feeling it would be of some use and if it wasn't, there were plenty of other things she could use to fight back.

Taylor cursed and turned away from Emily, his gaze resting on the now familiar vent. He went back over the radio.
"Spina, we have a problem." he started, adjusting his grip on the SIG. "Emily doesn't want to wait in the closet while we deal with this thing. I'd put her in there myself, but she might taze me while I'm doing it." Taylor paused for a moment, thinking with another glance back at Emily. He took a look down the hallway, praying for more time. If they didn't deal with the Chimera soon, they'd have to deal with god knows how many zombies. "I might be able to--"
Fote didn't finish his sentence. The Chimera broke through the vent above them, swiping at him with its hooked arm. As soon as he heard the sound of the groaning, tearing metal, he looked up briefly before rolling out of the way. Taylor raised the rifle, taking quick aim. The Chimera was hanging from the vent, most of his upper body revealed. He fired two quick bursts, holding the trigger briefly twice. 6 bullets cut through its chest.
The Chimera made a strange noise and climbed back up into the vent. Something was on the floor, moving, as well as starting to fall out of the vent. Taylor slowly moved towards the writhing mass. Maggots. 'Damn, this things tough.' he thought looking back up into the vent.
Taylor moved over to the door and opened it all the way. "D'accord, si vous ne voulez pas être seuls, attendre dans le porche." Taylor said, nodding his head towards it "Rendez-le plus dur pour cette chose à vous saisir. S'il vient près, utilisez le taser. Si vous êtes effrayés, près la porte."
As he waited for Emily's responce, he radioed Jim once again. "We're both alright. I hit the Chimera a couple times. The thing bleeds maggots. Anyway, I'm trying to at least get her out from under the vent. I'm trying to get her to stand in the doorway."
Taylor had a couple reasons besides the vent thing. If the Chimera got too close, she can run. If she got scared, she could close the door. And, if Taylor felt things were getting too hot, he could simply push her in, although he respected the girl with the taser. If he tried to push her, she might just shock his ass.
(Translations: "Alright, if you don't want to be alone, wait in the doorway."
Make it harder for that thing to grab you. If it comes close, use the taser. If you get scared, close the door.")

Jim watched as Fote dealt with the Chimera. He wanted to help, but he couldn't pull off a shot with fear of hitting one of them.
"We're both alright. I hit the Chimera a couple times. The thing bleeds maggots. Anyway, I'm trying to at least get her out from under the vent. I'm trying to get her to stand in the doorway."
They were in a desperate situation. He couldn't have Emily getting in the way of danger, but he also didn't want to shove her in some room.
As he was thinking, he heard a grinding above him and new exactly what was about to happen.
"God dammit!" Jim hissed as the Chimera emerged from the vent and swiped at him before dropping down to the ground. He was lucky enough to roll out of the way, allowing the Chimera to only get a piece of his utility harness.
Now they were in a bad situation. The Chimera was between him and Emily/Taylor. If he fired his .45, it might penetrate the Chimera and go on to hit one of them. If he fired his HK, he might miss and hit one of them. And, with either gun, the Chimera might jump out of the way, hitting one of them. They'd have to try and trap it somewhere. Or, if they could incapacitate it...
"Emily! Use the tazer!" Jim yelled, holstering his gun and pulling his knife. Hopefully, the voltage would be enough to immobilize it; then Jim or Fote could just walk up and execute it. The only problem was if Emily missed, they'd lose their chance. Jim would have to keep it on the ground until she could get a shot off.

Emily wrinkled her nose at the Chimera as maggots fell out of its open wounds rather than blood. She never thought that such a thing was possible. Everytime she saw wounds, she only saw blood coming out of the wound as well as a bone from when Jack broke his arm in an accident. She'd also heard of fluid coming from wounds, but never once maggots.
Taylor was annoyed with her. Emily could tell just by the curse, but she was grateful that he didn't pick her up and toss her into the room. She had to admit that she would rather end up facing a monster and risking her own life than staying alone in a room, wondering if it was even safe to get outside.
"I'm not scared." Emily lied, "So I'll just stay out here with you."
Emily continued to aim the taser at the chimera, waiting for the right moment to shoot it.
"Emily, use the taser!" Jim's words made perfect sense to her. She pulled the trigger on the taser and watched as the chimera was struck. It didn't move much, but Emily had a feeling that it would only last for a few seconds. Jim and Taylor would have to deal the finishing blow.
"I got it!" she shouted in perfect English.

Taylor smiled and shook his head 'This kid...' he patted her on the back, not as hard as he would to most other people, but enough to let her know she did well.
"Grand coup! La façon d'aller Emily." Fote said, beaming like a proud father "Je suis heureux que je ne vous aie pas mis dans ces toilettes."
He pulled his machete and started toward the Chimera before a shuffling noise behind him reached his ear. He jammed it back into its sheath and turned, ripping the strap from his SIG from off his shoulder. The zombies had broken through, and the first few were starting to shamble down the hallway.
"Spina," he yelled over his shoulder "Finish the Chimera, we gotta get out of here. They broke through."
Taylor fired a single shot into the first, cutting through its skull and toppling it backwards. He held down the trigger, spraying bullets into the advancing zombies. He didn't mean to deliver any kill shots, simply to do a little crowd control, keep them back long enough to kill the Chimera and keep going down the hall.
Fote looked past the incoming zombies and noticed a distinct lack of them. Apparently only a few had chosen to go down this hallway. It was also possible only a few broke through. He fired a couple more shots into the legs of the zombies, not letting them get within 10 ft of him or Emily. He squeezed the trigger, only to be met with a clicking sound. He cursed and pulled out the magazine, throwing it aside and opened up part of his vest, reached inside and pulled out a 5.56 mm clip of 30. Taylor slammed it in and pulled back the firing pin.
(Translations:
"Great shot! Way to go Emily."
"I'm glad I didn't put you in that closet.")

Jim braced himself as the Chimera began to charge him. Just as it was about to lunge, Jim heard the distinct "clicking" sound of the tazer.
"I got it!" he heard Emily shout with joy.
After letting a sigh, Spina straightened out and sheathed his knife. He then pulled out his 1911 and cocked it.
"Spina," he yelled over his shoulder "Finish the Chimera, we gotta get out of here. They broke through."
"Sh!t," Spina muttered as he stepped to the side of the Chimera and leveled the pistol at it.
Spina pulled the trigger just as the Chimera was awakening from its stupor. Brain and skull matter showered the door next to it.
Once the Chimera had been taken care of, Jim ran over to Emily and Fote, and knelt down next to Emily.
"Good job," he said, flashing a smile as he replaced the tazer cartridge. "You're a natural born soldier."
He stood up and walked over to Fote, giving him a quick pat on the shoulder.
"Come on," he sighed, tiredly. "Conserve your ammo. Let's get out of here before more of these things decide to show up."
Jim turned around and walked forward, tossling Emily's hair as he passed her, and proceeded down the hallway.

(OOC: my brain hurts from school, don't have much right now)
"Suivez après Jim, je serai juste derrière vous" Taylor said to Emily as he started walking, stopping behind Emily and turning to watch the hallway.
Fote looked over his shoulder at the Chimera, now a mass of writhing maggots. He didn't like this situation. If they didn't find an exit, they were screwed, and it would be his fault. However, he told himself that there was an exit that the Chimera got in through, which means there had to be some form of way out.
Taylor checked his self, making sure he didn't get hit by the Chimera. He was alright, and he breathed a sigh of relief, resuming his watch on the hallway. He'd have to wait until Emily started before he could take off after them.

follow after Jim, I'll be right behind you)

Emily smiled at Taylor when he said that he was glad he didn't shove her into the closet. It wasn't the fact that she was being praised for actually helping out with an item she'd never even seen before, but it was the fact that he wasn't even upset with her. It felt good in her opinion. Not many people got upset with her and she really didn't want to get another one upset with her.
When Jim spoke to her, she only understood some of what he said. She understood the "good job" part, but had no idea what a "soldier" was. If he used the word in French, she might understand what it was. She also smiled at Jim, but almost had to struggle to continue when he rubbed her head. It was clear that he meant well, but he put a little too much pressure on her head and it hurt a little. She also felt some of her hair slide a little, but fixed it with her hands before anyone would notice.
"Suivez après Jim, je serai juste derrière vous"
Emily nodded at Taylor's order and began to follow the other male in the building. She quickly turned her head away from the Chimera that was recently killed. It was most definetely something she didn't want to see. As she walked, she motioned for Taylor to follow her.

Jim brought his gun up and pointed it out the crack in the door, while slowly easing it open with his other hand. Once it was about half-way open, he threw it open and knelt down, leveling the gun.
Seeing as there were no enemies in sight, Jim stood up and let out a sigh. He wiped the rain from his eyes, and spit onto the ground. The sound of gunfire could still be heard in the distance, but it wasn't as intense. Unless, as he doubted, the uninfected has defeated the z's; the survivors were getting the worst of it.
"Well," Jim sighed, turning to the other two and holstering his pistol. "From the sounds of it, we ain't gonna get too much help out there. We're on our own until the Cavalerie Building. The rain will help to mask our trail to some of the more "intelligent" BOW, but it won't be enough to give us a safe trip. The plan is: we stick to the back-alleys and shadows, and make it to the cavalerie building as quick as possible. I'll go first; then you two will come. We'll do it leapfrog style. I'll run across open ground while you cover me, Fote; then I'll do the same as you and Emily cross. Sound good?"
Jim turned around and squinted as he gazed into the darkness. A couple fires were raging in the distance and were generating the only source of light. It was understood that Paris was lost.
"Whenever you're ready, guys," Jim grunted, lifting up his HK and chambering the first round.

Taylor followed Emily up the hall as Jim opened the door. He walked backwards down most of the hallway, fast enough to keep up with Emily, but slow enough so he didn't trip over the odd thing in the hallway.
They reached Jim, and he explained his plan. Taylor nodded and checked the SIG. He was still nervous about the infected behind him. The last thing they needed was to need to fall back and have a horde of zombies waiting for them when they got back.
Taylor doubted that anyone would be found in the Cavalerie Building. The zombies wouldn't care he was trying to spread their virus; they'd just tear him apart like everyone else. The three of them were barely getting by as well equip as they were.
Fote beckoned to Emily "Emily, laisse vont. Gardez le prêt taser." he said, peering down the sights at the area in front of him.

"Emily, lets go. Keep the taser ready.")

ooc: this was all I could come up with. Sorry.
Emily nodded and held the taser in front of her in a readied position. She spead up her pace so she wouldn't have to worry too much about leaving Taylor behind. A dreadful feeling overcame her body, like something bad was happening to her family. She wanted to call them and tell them that she left the hospital and see if they were okay, but now wasn't the time. The only right enough time would be back at the Cavalerie, where a working phone should be. Until then, she would prepare herself for anything and to help lead the way through the alleys to the next desination.

Jim pulled up his binoculars, switching to UV, and scanned the horizon.
"There's a little movement to the East, but we should be able to make it across the street into that alleyway."
As he was making one final sweep of the area, something caught his eye. Something big. He had seen it only briefly, standing there on top of a rooftop about half a mile from them, but it had disappeared too quickly.
He debated whether or not to say anything, but decided against it. He'd tell Fote if they had a chance to be alone, otherwise, they'd deal with it only if necessary.
"Alright," Spina sighed, putting his binoculars away and grabbing his HK416. "I'll try and make it across the street to that alleyway. Fote, you cover me. I'll radio you when I'm across. Okay?"
Jim waited for a confirmation before he took off across the courtyard. If everything went well, he should be to his destination within a minute or two.

Taylor watched carefully as Jim headed for the alleyway. As he watched, he spoke to Emily in French.
"Empêchez un oeil d'entrer derrière nous." Fote said in a low voice "Nous ne voulons rien partant furtivement en haut sur nous."
He kept his eyes trained ahead of him, completely unaware of the thing Jim had seen. He wondered how far the Cavalerie was from the Pantheon. He didn't know how long they'd last out in the open. From the sound of things, there were armed civilians out there. Taylor had been taught that in a disaster situation, much like Paris was in now, some people would degenerate to violence to get what they need. There was less gunfire in the distance, but Fote was worried that the people would find them and gun them down for supplies. He wasn't equipted to take any gunfire at the moment.
