Emily nodded and held on tight to the taser. "If you go through certain alleys, it should only take a few minutes of running to get to Cavalerie. I think I can keep up with you." she responded to Taylor.
She waited for Taylor to start running after Jim before running herself, her eyes darting around to make sure that nothing was going to attack them. At the moment, nothing was around, but she knew they weren't safe. With Paris going to Hell, she could only imagine who or what was around the corner. For all she knew, the parent of a friend could be around with a firearm, shooting at whoever they assumed was a threat. Or perhaps they would come across a person who lost their sanity to the attacks and didn't care who they were attacking.

(Alright, sounds good. We should probably go a little slower so he doesn't miss too much. also, my computer is being stupid, so I'm not gonna do the translations)
Taylor scanned to his left and right, his eyes straining in the farthest parts of the darkness, making sure there wasn't anything lying in wait in the shadows. He turned back and nodded to Emily, indicating he was going to start.
With another quick glance around and started across the street, moving slowly enough for Emily to keep up, but fast enough so that they wouldn't be sitting ducks in the middle of the road. Fote could see Jim ahead of him, covering their advance. Taylor kept his rifle trained at the area behind Spina, making sure nothing could get him while he was covering them.
He reached the alleyway, stiffling his breath. The move across the street wasn't tiring, but from everything inside the Pantheon, he was a bit out of breath, and now he didn't want anything hearing him.
Fote looked ahead, seeing there were two alleys ahead of them. He turned to Emily and addressed her in French "Do you know which way to go?"
It wasn't a big deal if she didn't know. They could check Jim's GPS. Fote just figured it would be faster to ask Emily.

Emily's eyes sparkled as she nodded happily. "Yes, I know the way." she pointed down the alley she was in front of. "My older brother showed me a few times, but I need you to follow me." It wasn't a lie. Jack really did show her the way to the Cavalerie through the alleys. It was one of the few shortcuts he knew by heart and showed her.
"The Cavalerie is not far away." she said in perfect English. Without waiting for an answer, she walked in front of Taylor and motioned with her hands for him and Jim to follow her with her.

The two men nodded. Fote turned around, still nervous about something coming up behind them. "I'll take the rear." said Taylor, nodding Jim ahead. Spina nodded and stood in the middle between the two of them,
Fote spoke in French over his shoulder to Emily "Alright, go ahead Emily."
Taylor waited for Emily to start. He was surprised at how well she was holding up in this situation, being younger than he was when he had gone through it. He had barely held together when he was 15. Hopefully they could get her someplace safe before she sees the horrors of non-infected humans.

Emily smiled and started walking. She thought continuously about the directions Jack had given her before. Okay, so it's left at the old theater, fourth right down the next alley, then the second left on that one. Go half a mile until there's the pawn shop, then go right, and turn left at the recruit office. Emily repeated the directions in her head as she continued running down the alleys with her hand behind her to motion for the men to follow her.
The alleys were surprisingly clean. No creatures were around except for a few rats, maggots, and flies that only stayed for the rotting food in the tipped over trash cans. They didn't seem to mind the three people in the alleys, even when the humans stepped over their dinner.
Emily left the last alley and found herself on the streets again. "There it is!" she shouted in perfect English. Right across the street from the girl was the Cavalerie and it only took four minutes of non-stop running. Hopefully nothing would prevent them from making it to the nearby building.

(OOC: Think we should wait a bit longer for Eric?)
Taylor had kept up a good pace while following Emily. He kept a few feet behind Jim, who was closer to Emily than him, just in case. He checked behind them at every corner. Fote listened for any gunfire. There wasn't any. Either they had stopped firing, or they were in no state to be.
He analyzed the entirity of the alleyways they traversed through. Taylor noticed the very same lack of infected in the area. That made it much easier, especially with Emily in the lead.
Eventually, Fote saw the Cavalerie Building, shortly after Emily announced it. Taylor moved up next to Spina and surveyed the street. Apart from a few looted cars, it was pretty much empty, but the area was wide open. Anything lying in wait would see them as they crossed. Fote had no reason to expect anything but regular infected, but after the Chimera, he couldn't be so sure.
"Emily, stay to close to Jim and I" Taylor said in French. He didn't want her breaking across the street before they had a plan of action. He turned to Jim. "Alright, so there it is. I don't see anything out front, but I don't think we should just go barreling across the street." said Taylor glancing out of the alley down the street. "Any ideas Spina?"
(If you don't want to wait, just post him responce.)

(Okay, I think we've waited long enough. I'll make this next post. I'll do the best I can.)
Spina looked out the alley and down the streets. It did seem safe to him, but it couldn't hurt but to be careful. The Cavalerie was so close yet one little thing like another chimera could ruin things if they started walking to the building. Of course, things could be worse if they waited for something to come their way. Things were safe enough right now and the best thing that could be done would to take a risk.
"We're going to make a run for it. When I count to three, grab her hand and start running for the Cavalerie. I'll be behind you and fight off anything that comes at us."
The first word Emily managed to understand was the word "run". It was one of the first English words she learned in school, but she didn't dare ask what the translation of that was. Not at a time like this.
Spina didn't wait for any answer when he started the counting, "One...two...THREE!"

(OOC: So I guess we can share 'custody' of Eric's character for now. I figure in the next couple posts we'll move into the Cavalerie thread)
Taylor grabbed Emily's hand and took off at a good enough pace to get them going, and enough so that Emily could keep up. He looked back to see Spina covering their backs. "Alright Emily, stay close to me" said Fote in French, indicating the door in front of them "I'll get it open, and you watch my back."
He slowly pushed the giant doors open and peered inside, squinting in the low light. Taylor had a sudden realization. He dropped and grabbed his first aid kit, fishing out the penlight and some medical tape. Fote taped the small flashlight to the SIG and turned it on, the bright light illuminating a small area inside the Cavelerie.
Taylor was a bit nervous now. He had never encountered a Chimera before, and it's prescence in Paris was....disconcerting. They had killed the one, but that had took some doing. Fote didn't know how the three of them could take on more than one.
Fote turned and whistled for Spina to head over. The guy is quite talented, Fote had to admit. He couldn't have taken out the Chimera alone. He turned back to Emily and addressed her in French "When Jack gets here, you stay between the two of us" he started, glancing at Spina as he progressed across the street "Listen close, and if you see or smell anything, tell me, alright?"

(I think after this post we'll just start in the Cavalerie because we'll already be inside)
Emily quickly followed Taylor into the Cavalerie. The streets were still bare and nothing came out to get her. Spina was quicker than she was and even grabbed her hand to get her to keep up with him, but she didn't really mind. Not anymore. He wasn't treating her like a child so she had no reason to protest the action.
The only thing she noticed about going across the street was that her wrist was starting to hurt from the grip. It wasn't even incredibly strong or anything. It was just because she felt pain easier. Spina didn't really say much else to her, but instead put her in front of him when the door opened to the Cavalerie.
As she made her way across, she listened carefully for something to come at her. Nothing except for a few faint moans along the street, but even those sounds were too far away to come and get them. For a while they were safe. When Spina and Emily made it back to Taylor, the girl said in a confident voice, "There's nothing out here to get us."

(OOC: Alright, I guess I'll move us here)
Taylor smiled at Emily from his crouched position. "Nope, we're safe for now." He didn't think he sounded to morbid, but he wanted to be honest with the girl. She was obviously tougher than other kids her age, and she could take the honesty.
"Okay Emily," Taylor said in French, scanning his brain for the right translations "We're going to enter the Cavalerie Building now. Try and keep it the same as before, you between me and Spina."
Fote stood and motioned at Spina "All yours Jack." he said with a quick grin. He wondered if Spina would accept the use of his first name, but he didn't say anything. He simply nodded and moved into the Cavalerie. Taylor moved ahead with Emily in front, wondering if he should shut the door behind them. If they needed a quick escape, they could follow the light and fresh air back here. But something might follow them right in. Fote thought intently 's***......The fresh air should still be here for a while after I close the door, and my sense of direction is pretty good. I'll get us back.'
Taylor shut the door and barred it with a long block of wood that had been set aside by some worker who never got the chance to put it back. "Okay guys, lets get moving."
[Taylor, Emily, and Spina are now in the Cavalerie Building]
