Joseph nodded. The security station would be a good place to check, and perhaps it even had a melee weapon. Joseph though, sighed a little knowing he was going to help Arnett. Not that, that was a bad thing but somehow Joe knew something bad would happen... again in there helping.
Joe pointed his flashlight down the stairs saying, "Alright then, let's go, the security room awaits us."
Joseph started to walk down the stairs. The sooner they find ammo the better of they will be, but seeing the luck of Joe and Jake at the bottom of the stairs a huge zombie probably awaited them at the least. Joe pointed his gun down the stairs also just in case. Even though Arnett said he cleared the bottom floor he could have always missed a zombie.

Jake brought up the rear and, scanning behind them to make sure nothing was sneaking up on them. The rooms that Arnett told them would have them going to three different floors. While it would be more efficient to each take a room, it would definitely be more dangerous.
“Fifth of Tequila, man I’d give my left leg for a prime rib endcut cooked medium rare with some fried mushrooms and an ice cold beer right about now.” Yep, that was what he was thinking about now. Dang it, it would be stuck in his head for days… or at least until he got it.
There was nothing but silence and emptiness at the ground floor when they exited the stairwell and Arnett led them back to the Security room. Jake moved to the rifle of the door and braced himself across the hall from it. He expected Arnett to bust the door and then move back out of the way. Most of the training they received taught them to break down the door and rush in, but that met with horrible results during the initial stages of the outbreak. Since then, the military and police had changed tactics. Now they used the doorframe as a choke point for any undead in the room.
He nodded to Arnett. “Ready, kick it in.”

Arnett nodded as the two moved into position, it was times like these that he wished he had a flash bang. Heck he actually wished flash bangs had some kind of effect on the dead.
He kicked the door as hard as he could muster and jerked back and out of the way as it crashed open revealing a pair of zombies in security outfits eatting on what looked like a fresh kill,.

Joseph yawned waiting for Arnett to kick down the door. He looked behind them in case of any back attacking zombies. Those things really did suck. You think for one moment you are dealing with some zombie In front, then shebang you have one grabbing onto your back.
Well, anyways, Arnett kicked down the door open. Joseph still didn't turn around , because the threat of a back attack is always present. Then he noticed a zombie coming from the back. They always come from the back, he thought shaking his head. He let off a shot killing the zombie, leaving him with only three bullets left. But then, Two more zombies were coming from the back.
"Hey guys two incoming from the back," he said still aiming his gun and flashlight at them.

As Arnett kicked in the door, Jake pulled his M16A4 up and targeted the first of the undead and pulled the trigger. The undead's head exploded and the body dropped to the ground. By that time, he was already targeting the next one and put a round through its head.
Jake couldn't really think of them as human... he or she... they were all "its".
"Hey guys two incoming from the back."
That was Joseph, so Jake turned around to see him pointing his gun at the two undead coming up the hallway. He had heard one shot from Joe, so he knew that he was down to 3 rounds left. Stepping around Joe, Jake fired off another burst, catching the first one in the head, and then the next one. Down the hallway a bit, he heard something move and another moan.
"We should check the room and get up the stairs in short order." Jake looked back into the room at the bodies. Both had on holster belts, but the holsters were empty. Jake guessed that they had them in their hands when they died and when they reanimated, they simply dropped them. Luckily, on one of their belts, Jake saw a spare magazine loaded with bullets.
"Joseph, check them and see if it is your caliber. Let's get that master key."

" Sounds like a plan" he said as he knelt down and aimed down the hallway. " I will keep a watch down this way why you guys search the security office. But before we go up we have one room down here to examine" he said as he sighted in down the hallway and noticed the crawling zombie.
" We should definitly expidite this little trip fella's. We may have jsut rung the dinner bell" he said as he squeezed the trigger sending the zombies skull and brains onto the wall. He wasn't so much worried about a few zombies as he was B.O.Ws. they always had a nasty habit of lurking inside of buildings and sewers to set up their nests and lairs.

(sorry for the long wait)
Joseph rushed into the security office after the two zombies were dead. He checked the magazines Jake offered and saddly only one of them was the right caliber.
"Only one is right," Joseph told Jake puting the magazine in his pocket.
Joseph looked around the office till he finally saw what he wanted. Hanging from a wall was a police baton. He quickly scooped that up and hung it from his belt. He was hoping for a melee weapon and he found one. Other than that though he saw nothing else really useful to him.
"I'm good Jake," he told Jake, then asking, "You get the key yet?"
Joseph looked back at Jake waiting for his answer.

Jake held up a little piece of plastic in his hand. It was Security's Master Key. "Got it right here, let's go." He headed toward the door where Arnett was popping off shots. He could also hear the moans coming up the corridor. Right before he hit the doorway, he stopped looking back at the other magazine that was laying there. He quickly grabbed it up and looked at it. They were 9mm. Not what he used, his sidearm was chambered for the .40 S&W, but he was not one to pass up any ammo.
"We can trade it later for something else", he said in the way of an explanation.
"Okay, Arnett, we got ammo and a key. Lead the way to the first room."

Arnett nodded at the pair as he kept his rifle aimed down the hallway, his eyes shifting over to glance at the room numbers. Damn, 101 that ment 199 was on the other side of the hallway. Nothing could ever be simple or easy in this world and be right beside them. He kept moving forward and eyed the doors as he heard scratching and banging behind some of them. “ Seems the dead are waking on us and aren’t happy about their vacations being interrupted” he murmured as he approached the lobby. He caught a glance at the glass doors and noticed the throng of dead starting to gather, they knew they were there. “Gentlemen I would suggest we search quickly and conserve ammo, we might have a nasty little fight on our hands “ he mumbled as he finally reached 199. He put his ear to the door and heard nothing, no moaning or movement. Taking the security card he swiped it and slowly opened the door. Nothing dead or alive was moving around so he slowly made his way in and started looking through the scattered crates and equipment. Kneeling down beside one of the boxes he grabbed two tubes and obened them exposing two fragmentation grenades. He hooked one onto his vest and tossed the other one to Joseph “ Pull the pin and throw it at the thing you want dead.” He continued rummaging through bags and produced a medical kit “ You guys find anything?”

Joseph nodded as he saw Jake had the master key. "Time to roll," he said quietly to himself. And, it was indeed. As Arnett started to lead the way.
Joseph was starting to get a small headache from the constant moans bangin and scratching all throughout the hallway. Some how the knew that one of those doors would burts sooner or later letting its dead inhabitant out.
Finally though arnett stopped by room 199. Joseph wondered why this room. Perhaps it's because it's the only room without moaning, or perhaps Arnett had something in there. Indeed though, when Arnett entered the room he approached a few boxes. Joseph quickly caught the small object Arnett had thrown to him. It was a grenade by the looks of it.
"Well," Joseph said to himself, "This could be helpfull sooner or later."
He then turned to Arnett as he asked the question. Joseph brandished the security baton, which was really the only item of importance that he had found.
"We should probably get going soon," he said listening down the hallway, "The glass on the lobby door won't last forever."
That was true of course. For any minute now Joseph knew he would here the sound of glass breaking and moans getting closer and closer.

Jake just held up a small white pack with red at the bottom. "Just some cigarettes. Nothing else of use in this room." He had gone to the closet and looked but it was bare. The drawers showed some T-shirts but nothing that he didn't already have. The only military jacket was covered in blood and torn to pieces. He lifted it up to show Arnett.
"Did you know an Andersen?", he said, tossing it on the bed. The banging and moaning became more insistent. "We should get to the higher floors. What's the next room?"

Arnett quickly removed the name patch and placed it in his pocket. he would add it to the collection for proper burial later on. It saddend him how many good young men and women had died because of an act of terrorism.
" No, but ill see to it he is honored" he said as he moved back towards the door. “ 338, id suggest blocking the stairs as much as possible as we go up. Much easier to fend off a small horde then everything outside if it comes to it”

Joseph turned towards the two men as they spoke. "Hey guys I'll be out of the room," he said walking out of the room.
Joseph figured he would be out first to look for any undead. So, he scanned the hallways back and forth. He could only see empty, dark hallways. He turned on his flashlight so he could get some better lighting. So far the coast was clear.
Joseph continued to listen to the constant moans and scratches coming from all over. He really didn't like the idea that in the room next to theres there might be some form of undead, but he would have to deal with it. If anything tried to eat Joseph, he had survived long enough to know how to fight back. So, He continued to wait till the other two men came out.

"Then room 338 it is", Jake said, watching Joe lead the way out of the room. He pocketed the cigarettes. Jake was becoming a bit of a packrat by now. Without a true economy, bartering was how one would get things. The 9mm rounds he had taken and those in the truck could be traded for .40 SW rounds for his handgun. The cigarettes were a true luxury... he'd be able to trade them for food.
Out in the hallway, he saw Joe aiming his pistol down the corridor. There was nothing there, but he heard the moaning. Going back into the room, he grabbed the metal chair at the desk and pulled it out.
"Once we go through the door to the stairs, I'll wedge this between the first stair and the door. It should hold and if we need to remove it, it won't take too long. Lead the way Arnett."
Jake motioned to the door that lead to another stairwell at the end of the corridor. Snapping on his light at the end of his M4, he swept the beam back and forth across the hallway.
It was weird that he wasn't feeling the virus running through his veins. He realized that he was calm and in control of himself.
He just hoped that it remained that way.

Arnett nodded at him " Sounds like a good plan. It should do something to keep our rears from being chewed on from behind" he said keeping his eyes moving around as much as possible.
" So where is your guys final destination".
