Jason resisted the urge to pull at his collar as he felt the heat wash over him, the creature running by and having to make a wide berth to get another shot at it’s prey.
“Stay here, get down.” Jason said, giving Alex a small push toward the debris as he moved in the other direction, picking up into a run as he made his way toward the cars that he had booby trapped. The creature came around for another charge, and Jason was able to run to the side to avoid the charge once again.
Turning around to fire a few shots into the creature’s back, he reloaded the spent shells as the creature was coming around for yet another charge. Backing away, he braced himself to run once more. Baiting the trap…

Alex didn't mind being shoved out of this fight. She leaned back against a shattered wall, and closed her eyes. Her body felt drained, and she felt exhausted. She actually drifted to sleep until the load roar and the sound of gunfire echoed through the air. She jerked awake, and looked around. Jason wasn't anywhere in site, and that fact worried her a bit. Using the wall to help her up she felt a sharp pain course through her body. Hiding a cry she tried her best to shake it off, and made her way down the street to try and find Jason.
-----------------------------------------
The creature roared in anger as Jason shot at it. It charged him again ignoring the bullets. When one of the cars it passed exploded it slid across the pavement. Stopping for a moment it shook it's head. It looked around the street before looking at Jason again. Hesitating for a moment, before it charged again.

Narrowing his eyes slightly, Jason watched the creature get back up from the explosion and continue charging. So… It was a bit tougher than it looked. Well, he’d need something a big bigger.
He let the shotgun go and heard it clatter to the ground, bending his legs and letting the creature get close to him as he dodged it one more time. Reaching into his jacket and pulling out his guns, he aimed and started to fire. The .460 rounds had to be enough to penetrate this things hide. If not, then he didn’t have anything else bigger…

The creature roared in pain as the bullets struck it. Stopping quickly in it's path it growled at Jason, but backed away as he watched the weapon in his hand. It looked as if it was thinking, and then it ran off down another road. It charged through a building at the end of the street, but continued to run away. As Jason stood there almost waiting for the creature to return, but it did not.
Alex stopped and leaned against one of the light poles at the top of the street. She watched Jason a bit shocked that the creature ran away like it did. Though Jason had dealt a good deal of damage to the creature, and it probably ran away because it didn't expect to have to work for it's meal. Pushing off the pole she staggered slightly up the road to meet Jason. She felt weird, her body ached unlike before, but she never dealt with a creature like that before. Stopping beside him she smiled tiredly. "You have a way with animals," she pointed out as she looked at the crumbling building down the adjourning road. "Thank you," she said lightly. "For saving me . . . again," she pointed out.

“Not a problem.” Jason said absently, taking a look around the area. The monster didn’t look like it was coming back in a hurry. If it did come back. It was probably off licking its wounds for the moment.
“Lets go.” He said. They had to get back up in the apartment, get their supplies, and get out of here. If that thing came back, Jason knew that it would be beyond what weapons he had. Even explosives had done little to it.
He made his way to the main door of the building they had been holed up in, calling the elevator as he supported Alex, helping her walk. He got to the door and then the living room, setting her on a couch while he went to gather up their gear.

Alex sat on the sofa rocking slightly as her body ached. She knew she shouldn't be hurting like this, but her body was screaming in pain. She shook her head trying to think of something else. They had to leave just encase that creature came back. She couldn't bother him as he prepared for them to leave. When Jason came back with the bags she climbed to her feet. Staggering a bit before she managed to catch herself. "Alright . . . lets get out of here," she said lightly.
She followed Jason to the elevator as he carried everything. Leaning up against the wall her hand rubbed her neck slightly. The collar seeming to burn her neck slightly. She shook it off and followed Jason to the car. She staggered as she moved to the car, finally leaning against it to gather herself. Something was wrong, and she was understanding that now. She was starting to recognize the pain. Something she hadn't felt in a long time, but it was something she still shouldn't be filling. Something was wrong. She knew she wasn't out of the medicine, but something was wrong with the collar. Alex hit the ground screaming in pain, and nearly curled up into a ball.

Jason watched as Alex collapsed to the ground, screaming. He dropped what was in his hands and came over to her, dropping to his knees and prying her hands away from her neck to check the collar. It looked ok, but it was obviously the source of her agony. He pulled the remote from his pocket and tried to shut it down, but it wasn’t working. There was only one thing to do.
Putting his hands onto the collar, he tried to pry it open, only to be shocked from the anti tampering device inside. Cursing lightly, he pulled the small knife from his belt buckle and shoved it into the fold, fighting through the second shock as it popped open.
Slipping it around her neck, he tossed it to the side and tried to stabilize her.

Alex laid on the ground panting heavily as her body settled down slightly. She opened her eyes slightly to look up at Jason. She felt tears in her eyes, but held them back. Her body still screamed in pain, but she knew that she had to move. They had to leave this place, or they had the threat of that creature coming back. She tried to sit up, but failed missrably. With Jason's help she was able to sit up, but as soon as she did she was regretting it. The nausia was just a small bit of the problem. She looked up through hazy eyes at the sight of the undead. Her screaming must have allerted them to a new meal that was hidding somewhere.
Jason helped her to her feet, but she quickly ended up on the ground again. Her body screaming in pain as she sat there. Panting slightly she shook her head. "It's . . . It's been a w-while since I felt pain like this," she said though a painful breath. This time she let the tears stream down her face. She couldn't hold it back, but she struggled to hold back another cry as a sharp pain coursed through her body. She looked weakly up at the approching undead. "N- need to leave . . . d-deal with this pain later." Swallowing hard as she tried to stand, but failed.

Jason turned to look at the undead closing in, instantly taking one of his guns out and easily lining up a shot at the lead of the group. Firing a shot that entered the head with a pinpoint hole and exiting with explosive force, the zombie fell to the ground and was soon joined by others.
Getting to his feet and helping Alex stand up, he backed toward the car. When he could, he flung the door open and deposited Alex inside. Closing up the door, he quickly made his way to the other side of the car to put some distance between himself and the zombies and fired off a few more shots. When the slide locked back, he released it and got inside quickly. Starting the engine, he quickly shifted to drive and left the garage. Without stopping, he turned onto the road and began taking turns as they made their way out. He didn’t want to keep going in a straight line if the creature came after them again.

Alex closed her eyes trying to think of something other than the pain. Instead she was rewarded with a sharp pain through her chest that caused her to cry out. Her eyes shot open as her hands gripped her chest tightly. She coughed and gagged as she started chocking on blood that was forcing its way out of her lungs. Alex's hand reached out to grab Jason's arm. Her eyes carrying a plea in them as they also held the fear. She seemed to twitch slightly before she felt the darkness start to take her. She knew he couldn't stop. Not with that creature on the lose. She struggled with staying awake, but the pain was stronger and she finally passed out.

Jason looked over at Alex as he drove the car, thinking out his options for a moment. Nothing that involved stopping the car, that was out of the question. He looked ahead of him, saw a turn coming up. He took it and saw the straight street that would end in six blocks. At his speed, he’d be at the next turn in about thirty seconds. Enough time.
Leaning over, he kept his hand on the wheel to keep it going straight. He reached across Alex and grabbed the handle on the side of her seat, reclining it back. He got back to his own seat and turned her on her side, then grabbed her head and tilted it up. It wasn’t much, but her airway was straight. They were almost out of the city, he may be able to do more when they got outside.

Alex opened her eyes briefly only to feel the pain course through her body. She choked slightly as her hand gripped the side of the chair. She could feel that she was laying down, and knew well though that they were still moving through the city. She tried to move more, but couldn't find the energy. The thought of dying before she could confront her father again crossed her mind, and she really couldn't tell weather she was happy about it or upset. She had her fears about seeing him again, and wondered if she would have the strength. She swallowed hard feeling the coppery taste of the blood in her mouth. She wouldn't know how it felt to confront her father. She was dying, and there was no hiding that. The heat from the creature must have melted some of the smaller more fragile wires in the collar. She knew that when she started filling the pain. The shots wouldn't come to ease them like they usually did, and now she was suffering greatly because of it. She coughed heavily before gagging slightly. The urge to sleep was there, but she struggled to fight against it.

The car screeched as Jason hit the brake, black marks appearing on the ground as he halted the car suddenly. Putting it in park, he reached back to his briefcase in the back seat and flipped it open. Pulling out a vial and a needle, he measured a dose of Alex’s medication and leaned over her. Pulling the hair away from her neck, he slid the needle into her skin and injected the liquid, withdrawing it and throwing the needle out the door of the car. He turned back to her and felt for her pulse, feeling it racing. He couldn’t do anything until he felt some kind of change.

Alex gasped slightly as Jason gave her the shot. She shifted slightly as the cool liquid flowed through her veins. Looking up at Jason tiredly as he looked down at her. Her body still screamed in pain, but as the cool liquid flowed through her veins it seemed to slowly ease the pain. "Thank you," she whispered slightly as she closed her eyes. With each second the pain was easing up, but she was still tired. Her body felt tired along with her mind. She struggled to opened her eyes again, and looked at Jason one more time. "I'm sorry," she whispered before she drifted to sleep.

Sighing a small breath of relief, Jason turned back to the steering wheel and put the car back into drive. He slowly started away from the spot, not wanting to wake Alex. He tried to think of where they would go next, but he didn’t know. They would probably leave the country. There was nowhere left on this continent to look. They just had to keep moving. Keep moving and hopefully not run into another BOW that he had never even heard of before...
