The main strip in Tokyo, Main street is home to many small stores and night clubs. It spans an entire mile, so there are plenty of places to visit. There are also a ton of people here doing all sorts of shopping.

"Seriously Gabe. How is this helping the company?"
Gabriel had taken his crew to Japan looking for nice backdrops to the next weapons commercial for DragonFANG. The Raccoon city ads had run their course and just looked gloomy, the higher ups wanted more colour, forests or hills, non grey stuff. Unfortunatly Gabe had forced a detour into the safe areas of Tokyo, looking to stretch his ego. The bmovie market was good over here too and he was able to set up a makeshift autograph signing with photos. Parked aside were the vans full of dragonFANG equipment needing tested on camera, the filming gear and the catering van.
"I mean really. Even if these people bought anything with your name on it. I doubt they have the money for heavy artillery."
"Frank, relax." Gabriel tried to calm him. "I'm getting the company name out there. Plus you gotta appreciate the regular people and not just the military. You know how many brochures I gave out for the home and personal defense line?"
"You autographed them Gabe! They won't be read. They'll be framed or sold on ebay!"
"Hold that thought." Another group wanted a photo with Gabe using his powerhand. He stood up as they gathered around and raised his hand, firing electric arcs between his fingers safetly away from the crowd as they snapped shots and lined up again to get them signed. "Yeah, that's right, I'm a hero, you love me."

Eva had watched the group of people as they gathered around someone. She knew it was a signing for something, but she didn't much care for that. She had been watching and eyeing the catering vehicle that was set out for the group. The food on it would be a lot more fresh that anything they had for a while. She had a little bit of money but she wanted to wait until it was needed, a last resort. She looked down at Shadow and sighed a bit. Neither one of them could go much longer without food. Two days was enough, and they needed something to eat. This looked to be as good as any. She had to becareful there were a lot of people around.
Though her prayers were answered when the man that was doing the signings seemed to gather the crowds attention. "Stay," she whispered to Shadow and moved closer to the catering truck. She watched the group intently and even the person who was working the truck. He seemed also intrested what was going on. She moved to the back of the door to the truck, and carefully opened it. She peeked around to see if she got the attention of anyone. Satisfied she opened the truck. She grabbed a trash bag from a box, and proceeded to fill with food. She didn't go over bored with it, because she didn't care to much to even steel but they needed to eat.
"Hey!" the words echoed through the back of the truck, and Eva froze. She turned around to see that the catering guy had come to check on his truck. "Put that food down," he barked.
Eva thought hard on what she had to, and she knew what she had to do. A friend was waiting on her, and depended on her. She took off managing to catch the guy by surprise. Still he managed to get a hold of her arm. She cried out as he slung her up against the side of the truck. Her hand gripping the bag even tighter as his hand gripped her arm even tighter. "Let go," she cried as she tried to jerk away.
"Not a chance theif," he barked as he tightened his grip on her arm.
"Your hurting me."
"You stole from me," he growled as he tried to jerk the bag of food away from her. Eva hung on tightly to the back.
Fear struck her as she heard barking, and look up as Shadow was bounding toward them. Her friend was coming to protect her, but she knew that if he attacked a human they would kill him. "I'm sorry," she said as she shifted to kick the man in the groin. As he let go she took off in the direction of Shadow. "Come," she called causing her friend to stop in his run. He followed after her. She continued to run not having to look back to see if he was following. She turned down the alley they had originally come from and jerked up her back pack.
Still without stopping she continued to run until she couldn't anymore. She found an broken fence into the back yard of an abandoned building. Slipping inside she sat against the fence panting heavily. Her hand instantly went to her arm as she finally realized that it was throbbing. She felt the tears in her eyes but fought them back. Never before had she done anything so ricky before, and it almost ended badly. She felt Shadow nuzzle her side and she petted his head gently. "I'm okay. Sorry for putting you through that," she said lightly.

The crowd turned at the commotion, seeing the girl run from the van owner after kicking him. Half the males in the crowd winced in sympathy when she kicked him. Frank turned back to Gabriel.
"We'll you wanted to hang around being a hero. You going to get to it?"
"She was just a kid, how do we know that guy didn't....." Gabriel sighed, he'd better step in before the cops were called and there was even more trouble. "Fine." He handed over some cash. "Give him this, it'll more than cover what he lost....and maybe afford a doctor to make sure nothing popped."
He apologised to the crowd as he sprinted after the girl. She had a head start and her smaller build allowed her to slip through more difficult routes. His heart unit pumped to compensate as he hopped and ducked under any obstacle in his way. Slowing down as he ended up in a fenced in yard. The girl was sitting nursing her arm whilst her dog sat next to her, the stolen bag on the ground near her. Gabe walked over slowly and sat down, pulling a small medical package from his pocket.
"You took a big risk there rabbit." He didn't know her name but her pigtails made for an obvious nickname choice until he found out. "Let me take a look at that."
He held out her arm and applied a patch from the pack. Squeezing it first to get it working. "This will ease the pain, combined icepack and skin absorbed numbing agent. Self adhesive so you still have a free hand if you want to eat some of that. The donuts with the pink frosting are pretty good." ************************************************** On the rooftop, Griffon assembled his rifle and loaded a new clip. Now that Gabriel was away from the crowd a clean shot would be easy and then some quick backalley surgery would get him what he came for. and if the kid freaked out he'd just put a round in her too.
***************************************************
Gabriel gave her a minute for the patch to work before talking again. If he pushed for answers too fast she'd probably panic and end up hurting herself trying to get away.
"So........umm, Rabbit. I'm not going to ask any stupid question like 'why are you on the streets alone? or where are your parents?'. Too much of that around these days. So instead I'll ask something sensible like say....is your dog sneaking up behind me about to tear me a new one?"
As he rambled on he didn't notice the blue laser sight projecting onto his chest and moving upwards, settling on his head.

Eva looked up shocked at the man as he tended to her arm. She didn't know what to say or even do. He was the man that was doing the signing and now he was hear helping her. She trembled slightly under his touch wondering what he planned to do. She didn't want to go back to jail she had been there a long time ago trying to save her sister. People never seemed to understand the truth about her parents, and not that they were gone her little sister finally had the family she deserved. Her eyes focused in on something that was out of place. She had known most to be red, but it was all the same.
At that time Shadow started to bark out, but not at the man who was helping her. Eva watched as the blue dot moved from his chest to his for head. It was then that it clicked about what was going to happen. She shoved forward taking the man by surprise knocking him to the ground, and falling on top of him. Beside them the dirt and grass shot up from where the bullet had struck it. Shadow continued to bark in the direction that the bullet had come from.

"What the hell?"
As Gabe got pushed over he assumed for a second she was attacking him, getting ready to run again. When the bullet took a chunk out of the ground though he caught on quick, the shot was silenced but the impact was very obvious. He helped the girl up and led her to cover behind some wooden boxes.
"Stay here." He peeked out looking at the rooftop, the sniper wasn't in sight, maybe he'd split. "I'm going to check it out, don't move unless you have to."
Griffon made his way down a fire escape ladder at the side of the building. Rushing around to the yard he switched to full auto and started sweeping the area. He stood at a reasonably tall height, wearing a brown raincoat over black body armour. His most distinctive feature though was that his hands and head were wrapped in bandages, with thick black goggles covering his eyes. His rifle was covered with all kinds of attachments besides the laser. Gabriel armed his powerhand ready to jump him at the first opening, unfortuantly as he treaded behind the gunman a motion detector attachment went off giving him away. Griffon spun around firing wild as Gabe tried to point the barrel in a safe direction.
"Jesus, you step out of intensive care to kill me?" Gabe noticed the attachments to the gun, notably the logo on the silencer/barrel accessory. "DragonFANG? At least you have good taste, but I know these products like the back of my hand. Barrel autoclean!"
"WEAPON CLEANING ACTIVATED, DISABLING WEAPON FOR SAFETY." A feminine voice replied from the attachment as the ammo was ejected from the rifle and cleaning solvent bubbled up the insides.
Griffon tossed the gun angrily and took a hand to hand stance. Thinking he was an easy mark Gabe swung an armoured fist, only to get flipped over and have the taser attachment jammed into his stomach. He lay on the ground stunned as Griffon tore open his jacket, inspecting the dial/port for his artificial heart.
"You should have taken the bullet, hope that thing pumps out painkillers." Griffon pulled out a flashlight sized gadget from his pocket, flicking a switch it extended three circular saw blades from the end, they whirred up as Griffon lowered it to Gabes chest, intent on cutting him open for the tech inside.

Eva was taken by surprise when the man hid her and her dog. She peeked around the corner trying to see what was going, but what she seen wasn't what she expected. She wanted to run knowing that this wasn't her fight, but she knew better. If it wasn't because of her he wouldn't be out here alone where he could get hurt, and now he was out here and in danger. She held her breath slightly as she looked at Shadow. Letting out her breath she nodded her head.
Shadow didn't have to wait for a command. He bounded forward toward the man teeth snarling as he jumped. He latched onto the man's arm in attempt to take him by surprise. In fact it took his attention away from Gabriel. An hopefully long enough to not realize that Eva was sneaking up on him. Gripped tightly in both hands was a metal pole. When she was close enough she swung as hard as she could striking the man in the back. Shadow let go of his arm, and took to latching onto his leg. He dug his teeth into the man's armor trying to pry him off his feet.

Griffon grunted in pain less than he should have when hit with the pipe, it did stagger him though and Shadow biting at his leg distracted him for a second. On the next swing he gripped the pipe and cut through it with his tool to make an example.
"Stay out of this brat. Or you and your mutt will be sorry."
He pushed Eva over and swung his leg to throw Shadow off, the dog rolled a short distance across the ground with a piece of torn armour. Throwing the pipe aside he turned back to Gabriel who had recovered and stood up again.
"Hitting girls is one thing, hitting dogs another." Gabe panted, twisting the chest port and clicking a few buttons, the device flashed green twice as it set the heart unit on overdrive. "But both at once gets me really steamed."
He rushed the bandaged man ducking a swing of the saw and delivering a rapid series of punches across the torso and stomach, gradually Griffin was worked back into the wall of the building with no way out. A final right cross with the powerhand put the killer through the wall, collapsing part of the weakened structure on top of him.
Gabe waited for a few seconds to see if the man had survived or was just playing possum. The overcharge would last the rest of the hour but then he'd need to wait overnight to use it again. Hoping the danger was over he went to check on the girl and dog who'd stuck around to save him when they could have just taken their bag of food and ran.
"Hey rabbit, thanks, you or your dog hurt?"

Eva sat up staring at the wall that the man had gone through. She then looked up at Gabriel and smiled lightly. "I'm okay," she said as she stood up and dusted her skirt off. She looked over toward Shadow as he trotted over like he had won something. An in his mouth was the piece of armor he had managed to tear off. She laughed slightly and knelt down patting him on the head. "Good boy. You were very brave," she said lightly. She knew well enough that Shadow had protected her all to often in the past. Where as she had refused to pick up the gun many times in the past Shadow was always her gun, and he seemed to prefer that.
She looked up at Gabriel again and smiled. "My name is Eva," she said lightly. She looked down at Shadow and scratched his ear. The wolf still holding tightly the armor he had gotten from the attacker. "An this one is Shadow. He is my body guard and best friend," she said lightly. She looked up at Gabriel again. "I'm sorry I took that food, and got you into trouble. If I would have known it would have gone this far I wouldn't have done it." She sighed a bit and looked away. "An I'm sorry that I hurt that guy, but if I didn't do something Shadow would have attacked him and they would have taken him away."

"Hey, no trouble. He was trying to hurt you. Legally you're in the clear to hurt him right back."
Gabe picked up the dropped rifle checking it over, covered in DragonFANG attachments like he'd noticed. A few seconds later Frank came running around the corner.
"Gabe? What the hell man? We've been looking all over for you. Thought you went after that thief. Did you wreck that wall?"
"Kinda...forget about that." Seemed Frank didn't get a good look at Eva earlier to recognise her, that was lucky. Gabriel handed over the rifle. "You recognise this? Some guy just tried to kill me with it."
"Jeez, we had a whole set of those attachments stolen from our warehouse here in Tokyo, I'll have to run the numbers but....guess the commercial is on hold?"
"Afraid so, the company will want to count up the equipment. Still, we get paid just to be here so why don't you guys drop the vans off and then take a break?"
"Okay...but what about the guy tryin to kill you?"
"He's right over..." Gabe pointed towards the rubble, suddenly noticing the assassin had managed to sneak off while everyone was talking. ".........crap."
"I'd better call this in. You just lay low. If you get killed on the job that'll really tick off the bosses, not to mention if we lose that billion dollar pacemaker of yours."
Frank rushed off leaving Gabe, Eva and Shadow in the yard. Gabe handed her the bag of food then put both hands on her shoulders and started lightly pushing her towards the street.
"You can keep the stuff you stole, but it's all snack food, so first I'm buying you and Shadow a proper meal first. Just say when you see a place you like and I don't want to hear any complaints. I owe you after all."

Eva was shocked to hear what Gabriel has said. She shook her head but the look of determination radiated through his eyes. She wondered if this guy ever took a no for an answer. She looked around as he pushed her toward the street. She hardly had the attire to walk into one of these restaurants, and not to mention it had been a couple of days before she or Shadow had even been in the river to wash off. "I - I can't," she said lightly as they hit the streets and the crowd of people continued to walk by them.
Her hands instantly grabbed the ends of her pig tails and pulled on them. She then realized something that no one seemed to have called the police, and what made it even weirder was that this man shouldn't have been able to do what he did. Not to mention the fact that the other guy had disappeared. She looked up at Gabriel as he finally pulled them to a stop in front of a restaurant, probably deciding to choose himself since she wasn't saying anything. She looked up at the restaurant it wasn't to fancy, but still some place she didn't belong. She looked down at Shadow as he sat beside her. The look he gave her was one of approval. She sighed a bit defeated and knelt down.
Removing the leash from her bag she hooked his collar to it, and then tied it around a pole. "I'll bring you something back," she promised as she stood up gripping the ends of her pigtails again. She looked up at Gabriel more or less out of protest. "You don't have to do this," she said lightly before looking away. "You don't have to be nice to me."

"Yes I do, you helped me out when you could have ran or helped him. Plus you look like you're having a rough time, I promise there will be no weird catch to this."
Eva seemed nervous about going into the streets again. The caterer had already been paid off to look the other way so it may have been something else bothering her, Gabe made a mental note that if he found such a person a good way to pay her back would be to put them through the ceiling. Eventually they found a diner type restaurant that she seemed the least nervous around, he waited until she leashed up Shadow before going in and finding a booth. A water came by soon after to give them menus and leave a water jug and some glasses.
"<I'll have the garlic chicken and could we get a large steak sent to the dog outside? Might want to order a few of those to go as well.>"
He spoke in Japanese with a basic language guide he kept in his pocket.
"<and my friend may be a little nervous about me buying so if you could double the portions of anything she orders I'd appreciate it.>"
During the wait Gabes heart controls counted down the last of the hour overdrive with a series of beeps before a droning power down sound. He slumped face forward for a sec breathing deep, the feeling was like coming off a sugar rush mixed with an ice cream headache and a little bit of a kick to the junk. Better than the whole thing shutting down though.
"Woah, sorry about that." The waiter came back with their food. "I forgot to say, I'm Gabriel, Gabriel Scott. You might have recognised me already but that'd be rude to assume. So what's your story?"

Eva looked up at Gabriel as he looked at her. She quickly looked away, and down to the food. It was also a steak, but not just one plate. They had brought two plates for her. She looked at the steak for a moment, but went to the tea that he had brought. She instantly downed the tea savoring the sweetness from it. When she finished it she went to the steak savoring the bites. She couldn't remember the last time she had anything decent to eat. All her travel were around the cheapest she could find, and those usually ended with her bringing her own food to make it cheaper. She looked up at Gabriel as he spoke.
She forgot her food for a moment and looked away again. She could remember quite well the trek that lead up to where she was now. She sighed a bit as she shifted in her seat. "I'm just a traveler," she said lightly as she looked out the window. She fought back her tears as she thought of her sister, and the trial that brought her to this point. She looked down at the table again, and at the food in front of her. "At least I try to be," she said with a heavy sign. "I'm not doing a very good job at it." She wiped the tear away that had broke free. "I'm sorry," she said lightly.

"Hey c'mon, don't cry."
Gabe listend intently at her story while they ate. It was the first time he'd actually really though about others down on their luck. Obviously it wasn't a good thing to have to listen to. He handed over a napkin when she started crying.
"Just enjoy your food for now. I asked for something to be sent out for Shadow and some food to take with you. Anything else you need you just ask."
He poured out another glass of water for each of them.
"So what are your plans after this? Anything I could help with?"

Eva looked at her food now she was nibbling on it. She thought about what he asked, and in truth she didn't know what to say. She took another sip of her drink, and looked out the window still thinking a bit. "Probably just continue to travel," she said lightly as she cut another piece of her meat. She looked at it then set it down. She wasn't use to eating so much, and just the bit she had ate quickly filled her up. She looked back up at Gabriel. "I think running," she said lightly before looking down at her plate. "Keep running from what I don't want to face . . . keep running from myself," she said lightly.
She set her fork down on the plate and smiled lightly. "I was raised by very cruel parents. They seemed to love my sister so without worry I ran away, but I found out that after I left there anger they took out on her. I didn't want her to suffer like I did so I took her from my home. I was later arrested and sent to jail and a mental hospital. When I was free I went in search of my sister. I found her in Raccoon City for some strange reason. She was being taken care of by a man and his brother. I found out that the man that took her as his daughter was one of her doctors from the past. I knew a bit of him, and he was very kind. From dealing with them a bit more in Raccoon I had seen that these two loved her like their own. I came to find out that during my time in jail she had been seriously hurt from my parents. An that had caused her long term memory loss."
Eva sighed a bit as she took her glass in hand and started to play with it. "I took it upon myself to leave her with them. Finally satisfied that she had a family and life she deserved. I didn't want to come back to dredge up those horrible memories of her past," she smiled grimly. "I think the reason I travel is too keep my mind off my own past," she said lightly. Shaking her head a bit she looked up with a weak smile. "Sorry about all that. I'm just rambling again."
