Eva tried to get a hold of Gabriel over the intercom, and when he wouldn't answer she started to get worried. She took her cell phone and tried to call him, but he wouldn't answer the call. Looking down she noticed that Shadow seemed a bit on edge since they had arrived. She took off toward the elevator with Shadow behind her. As soon as she entered the elevator doors slammed shut behind her leaving Shadow out. Eva hit the door before trying the button that opened the door. Still it wouldn't open. She could hear Shadow scratching and howling on the other side.
There was a loud click, and then the elevator made a fast and hard drop causing Eva to scream. She tried to grab the railings, but they did little to help. As soon as the elevator made a sudden stop she hit the ground hard. When she looked up she noticed a small faint gas flowing in through the vent. She climbed to her feet and hit the elevator open button, but it still wouldn't work. She tried prying open the door, but she knew that was a ridiculous attempt.
She choked and coughed a bit as she struggled to breath. She remembered that there was a shaft above that she could use to get out. Climbing on the railing she tried to look above the lights to see if she could find the hatch that lead to the top of the elevator. Her foot slipped off the railing causing her to hit the floor hard. Eva tried to climb back to her feet finding it harder than before. Her chest burned along with her eyes, and it didn't take her long to pass out.

The gas cleared out of the elevator soon after it hit the basement, Griffon opened up the doors and dragged Eva out towards a room he'd set up a while back, it was off the floorplan to the building and he'd converted it for his own storage and work area.
***************************************************
"Wake up brat."
Griffons voice crackled over the intercom as he broadcast from another room in the building. Eva was locked in a clear reinforced glass box in the centre of a basement room, her wrists tied and she was securely gagged, a small computer was set up in front of her with a screen showing the office Shadow was still in with a representation of the room showing the cameras and electrical wiring.
"You were a distraction earlier, so I'm leaving you with your own distraction. Can't help but notice your travelling companion, good time to test a little something I've wondered. Non verbal communication between pets and their owners. In front of you is the controls to the security cameras and electronics in the rooms, stairs and corridors between you and your dog. You can open and close doors to try and get him to you so he can open your prison. and here's the first catch, some of the rooms have traps that you can see from the display, you can disable these one at a time but you can't warn your dog so you'd best act and hope he takes the safe route you give him."
A light outside the box turned on showing a floor mounted pair of buttons, one red, one green.
"Second catch, is that one of these buttons will free you, the other, well...just look up."
Another light above the box showed another similar, smaller box above it, separated by a sliding panel. Inside slithering up the top, sides and bottom were a whole pack of leeches, some already grouping at the bottom when they'd seen Eva.
"Well, hopefully you can work out which button to tell him to go to, and work out how to tell him." Griffon laughed. "Hopefully dogs being colour blind won't be a problem." **************************************************
Back upstairs Gabe staggered out from under the pile as the sounds of a claxon went off, the doors to the building sealed shut as a group of sealed crates broke open.
"Uh, what now?"
"Now." Griffon interrupted over the intercom, secure in a crane room at the top of the warehouse. "Now I bring in more unorthadox weapons to tear you apart, leave me that heart unit and eat the rest."
Growls emerged from the crates as several hunters staggered out, their ape like arms swinging as they got their bearings.
"Just like one of your idiotic movies. I'll be recording this for my own enjoyment later.....Action."

Eva looked around the room a bit shocked as to what was going on. She shifted finding that she couldn't escape her prison or her position. She let out an irritating huff as she looked at the screen and studied it a bit more. She could see Shadow moving around the upper floor. She grumbled a bit even with the gag in. Her hands with some difficulty could control the cameras. She scanned the room trying to see where Shadow was in reference to the exit. It took her a moment to realize that Shadow was watching the camera moving. She watched as Shadow wolfed, in return she moved the camera up and down as if responding, and Shadow wolfed again as he jumped into the air.
She shifted the camera in the direction of the stairs. Her heart jumped with joy when Shadow followed in the direction she pointed. He bounded for the door jumping at the last moment and hitting the door flinging it open. Eva with a bit of struggle shifted the camera in the stair well. She wasn't dumb and she knew all the traps Shadow would have to go through. She pointed the camera up the stairs and Shadow quickly followed. There was a room on the first floor that had a window that Shadow wouldn't have any trouble getting through. That room was right next to the stairs that lead straight to the basement.
She watched as Shadow hit the roof. Outside on the roof he had access to the fire escape, but she no longer had any view of him. All she could do is wait and hope that he knew where he was going. She relaxed a bit waiting until she could see him in the camera's view. If he never came back into the view at least she knew he would be okay.

The hunters slumped around the warehouse getting their bearings, apparently the beta breed with their low brows and red blistered patches on their foreheads. One started hanging from a shelf and grunting whilst another dragged his claws along the floor. Gabe stayed hidden looking for an alternate exit. Almost every door was out in the open, plus he couldn't leave without Shadow and Eva.
He crept towards the elevator so he could get up to the office, unaware of it currently being disabled. As he turned a corner he bumped into one of the creatures, by reflex punching it square in the face with a full tazer blast before it could attack or draw in the others. A quick zap later and it stood cross eyed and drooling, wobbling on the spot before falling over unconcious, or dead, Gabe was in no mood to check. He rushed off in the opposite direction as another hunter came along and starting poking the prone one. ***************************************************
"Dumb lizards. Can't you just sniff him out?"
Griffon monitored everything from the security cameras, getting impatient with the mutants. He turned back to check on Eva and Shadow in their situation.
"Sending the dog outside? That's cheating, you just earned yourself a penalty." He hit a few buttons on a portable terminal he was carrying.
In Evas prison, a large digital timer on the wall lit up, wires connecting it to the leech box, a blinking 15.00 was displayed before it started counting down the minutes and seconds.
On the fire escape, small charges went off on the wall supports as Shadow passed them, the stairs collapsing behind him.
"We don't like cheaters here. Almost as much as we don't like overpaid extras having technology he doesn't deserve."

Eva smirked a bit at Griffon's call of being a cheater. She scanned the camera's hoping that Shadow was able to the explosions that riddled the side of the building. She had no doubt that her friend already knew the danger that awaited him outside, but she still couldn't help but worry. Then one of the windows in the lower room caught her attention. She watched as Shadow stand up and look into the room he was holding something in his mouth. She watched as Shadow stepped away, and not even a few seconds later came crashing through the glass window. As soon as his paws hit the floor he jumped to the side as a stack of bricks hit the ground. He took off out of the room rounding the corner and entering the stairwell.
She watched as he came to a stop at the bottom of the steps. A slight curse ran through her head as she realized that the door had a knob and not a push bar. She watched as Shadow dropped something by the door, and took off back up the stairs to the first floor. Not even a second later the room shook from an explosion. The door was flung across the room, and Eva stared in shock. Shadow had carried one of the bombs with him all this way, and even knew how to set it off. She knew he was smart, but not like this. A bark brought her back to reality and she looked to see Shadow sitting at the box.
Eva looked up as the time counted down. She looked at Shadow and nodded to the buttons. He walked over and sat in front of them. She nodded again to the green button, and he hit it. The glass cage slid up allowing Shadow to run to her side. He quickly chewed the rope binding her hands. She removed the gag and patted Shadow on the head. "Good brillient boy," she said as she bent down to untie her legs, and then her waist. She jumped out of the chair and pulled Shadow away as the leaches fell from the crate. She sighed a bit as she knelt down and scratched Shadow again. "Good boy."

"Okay....okay...think. You can work your way out."
Gabe was behind another stack of crates as the hunters combed the warehouse. His phone wasn't working in the building, he was a few hours away from another supercharge and there were too many to take on hand to hand.
"Wait a sec." He pulled the notepad from his back pocket. "This is a freaking weapon company warehouse."
*************************************************** "Yes, good boy indeed." Griffon growled over the intercom in the basement. "Too bad the way back out won't be as easy."
At the touch of a button on his terminal several shutters rolled down over the windows and another BOW crate at the far end of the room started shaking, another hunter waking up and ready to spring out.
"You should have played by the rules brat. Now your only way out is back through the way your dog should have gone, and you don't even know where all the traps are. I'd say take it slow and careful, but with your new friend ready for a game of tag, it's easier said than done. He's 'it' by the way." ***************************************************
A loud gunshot caught Griffons attention and he turned back to watching the warehouse. Gabe was rushing out in the open, his powerhand retracted and both hands on a large revolver taking down the circling hunters with one shot each.
"Step right up boys!" He yelled. "The Centurian Magnum, a DragonFANG innovation on the classic Colt Python, and with our special ammunition tested against the worst Raccoon has to offer, you get more bang for your buck."
He punctuated his show by firing into a security camera, confusing Griffon until he switched to another.

Eva tilted her head slightly as she looked at the creature. If she hadn't spent a good time in Raccoon City she probably would be freaked out by the creature. She had even run across these things a time or two in her past. A Hunter was what they were called or at least what she remembered they were called. They were good at their job, and quite fast. They were even better when it come to water. She shuddered slightly remembering her first encounter. Patting Shadow on the head she looked down at him. "This guy doesn't sound to happy with us."
Shadow tilted his head as she spoke to him. He then turned to the hunter and growled at him.
Eva stood up and took off through the only open door with Shadow trailing behind her. The slight thump sound made from the creature jumping after them assured her that it was following behind her. "I might not be able to see the traps now, but I'm not one without a good memory." She hit the ground as a large cement pipe swung from it's hidden place in the ceiling. It passed right over her and Shadow striking the Hunter as it entered the room. The creature was knocked back through the doorway and several yards into the previous room. She waited for it to stop swinging, and then climbed to her feet.
Taking off again with Shadow in toe and the creature now several yards behind. Though she knew well enough that it would catch up again. She jumped out of the way of another trap in the next room, and rolled under a third trap in another room before she heard the howl of the creature as it started it's chase again.

After finishing the hunters Gabe climbed a ladder up to the control booth, kicking in the door and rushing Griffon as he sat apparently focused on his controls. Pulling his chair around the coat and bandages dropped limp, a simple decoy with some of his belongings propped up with a brush.
"Sorry about skipping out early." Came a taunt from the intercom. "We'll try this again some other time."
Gabe looked around, seeing a terminal and control box for the basement rooms. Eva and Shadow were running from another hunter, it was gaining fast as they had to dodge traps. Gabriel looked around trying to give some help. He eventually worked out the controls and activated the intercom from his end.
"Eva, you and Shadow need to duck right now!"
He hit another button activating a spike trap, several javelin like objects fired from the corners of the room skewering the hunter. It fell backwards as far as it could before the spikes propped it up off the floor. Gabe signaled them over the intercom again.
"I've turned off the other traps and fixed the elevator, come on back up to the warehouse and I'll meet you there."
He signed off and left the control booth, heading down to the main floor like he said.

Eva laid on the ground from when Gabriel told her to duck. She looked back at the hunter and sighed with relief. Sitting up Shadow walked to her and rubbed his head against her side. She patted him lightly on the head before standing up. "Lets get back to Gabriel." She lead him to the elevator, and climbed in with a bit of reluctence. Though when Shadow walked in without any problems she followed in after him. She pushed the button for the wear house, and waited for the doors to close.
When the doors opened again she was more than glade to step out. She looked around the wear house, and then followed after Shadow as he lead her to Gabriel. She watched as he came out of another room. "Gabriel are you okay?" she asked as she came to a stop in front of him. She looked back to the elevator. "I'm sorry I couldn't worn you, but I lost communication with the wear house," she said lightly as she looked down at the ground.

Gaberiel took a quick look inside the elevator when Eva and Shadow were back up, seeing the gas nozzles planted in the floor and ceiling.
"Griffon rigged the place while everyone was out, I shouldn't have even brought you here. I'm sorry. You okay?"
A few seconds later the fire shutters rolled up and Frank entered with a group of DragonFANG security troops rushed in, putting extra rounds into the hunters and checking the area.
"Should have known you'd go here Gabe." Frank shook his head. "and bringin the kid too? I thought I told you to stay in the hotel?"
"You didn't say how long?" Gabe half assed an excuse. "Look at the bright side though, Griffon just got cut off from a major stash of weapons, plus we can easily catalogue what else he stole."
Frank laughed. "I can give you that, the two of you get checked out by the medic and tell the guy with the notepad what happened, I'll cover you in the report."
"Thanks Frank." The two shook hands, despite any arguments they were still friends. "C'mon you two, let's get it done with."

As Gabriel lead Eva out of the warehouse she stopped causing him to bump into her. She turned to the one that he had called Frank. "Sir, several of the rooms have traps in them. Please tell everyone to use caution." They made there way out of the warehouse to an ambulance that was waiting to check them out. Once they got the okay to leave Eva made her way back over to Gabriel. "That guy," she said lightly. "Do you know him?" she asked as they walked back to the car. "I know he's after your enhancements, but his actions seem to be a bit more personal like he almost has some sort of vendetta to settle with you," she said as she looked up at him. She shook her head as she reached down and scratched Shadow's ear. "Sorry just curious."

Gabe thought about the question for a second.
"I can't say, literally I got nothin. I only met the guy yestarday. Seems a bit personal for him though."
At the ambulance, Garbriel was checked over and given a clean bill of health, the doctors also made sure to recharge and resupply the heart unit while he was there and top up his booster syringe reserves in case he needed them. Afterwards he gave his full report on the events at the warehouse, the hunters, traps, Griffon and the missing weapons. Afterwards he waited for Eva to give her side.
"You doing okay? I figure we can take the rest of the day off if there is somewhere else you want to go."

Eva had given her side of what had happened, and some of the traps she had seen through the cameras while she was in that box. She shivered a bit thinking about the thousands of leaches that sat above her head, but also gave herself a mental pat on the back for keeping her cool. If those leaches would have been let lose it would have been slow and rather painful death. When she was done she met back up with Gabriel. Thinking for a moment she grinned at the thought of what time it was. "I know," she said as she reached down and scratched Shadow's ear. "The Japanese Cherry Blossom festival starts tonight. I would like to go to that. I know I can't dress up just yet for it, but at least getting to go and see everything would be fun," she said as she looked up at Gabriel.

"Okay, we can do that. Gimme a sec."
Gabe met up with an accountant at another company van who was documenting the contents of the warehouse, handing over his company card he waited for a minute before getting handed back a cheque. He met back up with Eva and Shadow as another car pulled up to give them a lift back to the hotel. Once inside Gabriel handed over the cheque, the amount was around more or less $2500, or at least the equivalent in the Yen.
"You can cash that at the reception, that's you're pay for today's work. Normally it wouldn't be that much but after today, you qualified for hazard pay. The hotel room is already paid off so that's all yours to do whatever you like."

Eva's eyes grew wide as she seen the check. "Oh my. I've never got a check before. Thank you." She couldn't do anything else but stare at the check in her hands. An when the car came to a stop she was already jumping out of it. "I'll meet you in an hour," she shouted as she ran into the hotel leaving Shadow standing a bit baffled beside Gabriel. Shadow followed Gabriel into the building spotting Eva leaving the counter. He left Gabriel and followed Eva as she walked into a store.
"May I help you," a woman asked as she approached Eva.
"Yes. I'm looking for an outfit to wear to the Cherry Blossom festival tonight." She looked back to Shadow as he sat down in the doorway and waited.
Eva tried on several different outfits before finding a beautiful blue and gold kimono. After purchasing it she made her way to the salon to get her hair down. When she was done she lead Shadow back to the front of the hotel in order to wait for Gabriel.
