"Alright, lets go then." Edward followed Gabriella closely, looking back to see the other man speaking on a radio to an obvious partner of his. He didnt worry about the cop, he would be able to handle things on his own, and meet up with with partner as soon as things cooled down. Regardless of his own idea, Edward still followed Gabriella, she seemed to have an idea of where to hide. Holding the shotgun, he pumped it only three times, unloading shells into the small passing crowds to clear the way for the pair. Hitting the staircase up to the top floor, Edward caught up beside Gabriella, and smoke out while they both moved along the moonlit area.
"Looks like there isnt as many of those infected up here, we should be safe from those at least. Guess the others are grabbing the attention from the monster stalking us, but a fight is enevitable if we dont find a safe place to rest for a bit. Every man for himself, but if I get to pick somebody to run with, its you princess..." Edward didnt want to leave her alone, she needed support against that creature, other theres no telling how short of a life they wouldve had. Same could be said for himself, she kept him alive just as well, they really made quite the team.
The issue with the top floor was that it connected onto the Western side of the mall, and that whole section was still under construction. This made moving a little harder for them, however, it gave them quiet a few sheltered areas to work with. After climbing up onto a scaffolding that overlooked the mall lobby from even three storys up, Edward turned back to the ground, and reach his hand down. "Come check this out..."

Bennett listened to the radio transmission as he stepped into the electronics store. He then heard the resounding blast of a shotgun. One....two...three blasts. Bennett checked his weapon and sighed. Marcus had said to catch up later...and it had been a full five seconds. Now was later right? Bennett sighed as holstered his handgun and unslung the shotgun. He closed his eyes and began to think. If he had stayed with the Russians, would they have eventually killed him? What about now, would he die now trying to find out what the gunfire was about? The cop opened his eyes and was ready to find out.
Bennett stepped back into the main part of the mall, his shotgun at the ready. As soon as he stepped out, two zombies fell ontop of him. Bennett let out a brief cry of surprise as he and the two zombies fell to the floor. Bennett's shotgun slid across the floor out of his reach as he fell. The policeman managed to push one of the former citizens off of himself while he wreslted with the other. He held his hand underneath the chin of the zombie, holding it above his body as he reached into his holster and drew his handgun. Bennett's face twisted into hatred as he fired off a single round into the creature's head.
Bennett tossed the dead pile of meat off of himself and reached out for his shotgun, only to have his arm bitten by the second zombie. Bennett let out a shockingly loud cry of pain as the zombie bit down. Blood poured from his arm as he punched the creature away. The zombie stumbled backwards, it's limp body falling to the floor. Bennett grabbed his arm in shock as he looked over at the mass of the zombie which was already trying to get back to its feet. Bennett let out a roar of fury as he got to his feet and planted the heel of his boot into the creature's skull.
With his boot still in the skull of the zombie, Bennett fumbled at his pack to retrieve his medical kit. He panically sprayed antiseptic wash on the bleeding mass of his forearm and rapidly bandaged it. His heart began to race as he finished. He had seen what had happened to his fellow officers who had been bitten, how long did they last? A day, a week? It was hard to remember. His head felt dizzy, but he couldn't stop, not now, not even at the verge of death's door. Bennett picked up his shotgun and began to make his way upward in the mall.
"Be alive..." Bennett said to himself, as he shucked a shell into the shotgun. "That's all I ask....don't let me fail."

Artemis heard the loud yell of a Human being attacked, then a few seconds later smelt the scent of blood in the area. She started to bite the bullet out of her Exo-Skeleton with her Inner Jaw then She ignored the other Survivors and went after the new human. A few seconds later, Artemis tracked the scent back to a Man walking through the Mall. She quietly climbed on the ceiling and came up behind the man, then pounced on him, pinning him down. Her tail whipping in the air to defend herself so she could feed on the human, but before she could bite him, she could smell the mans Infected Blood from his wound. She hissed at him, then started to crawl away, leaving the man alone so she could find real flesh that was Consumable for herself....
---
Gabriella climbed up to where Edward was, then looked down at the Mall Lobby below. A German Shepard was walking through the lobby, going through small gaps in the horde of Zombies. Except something was wrong with the Canine, its fur seemed to be falling off, there was areas of Bare skin. She looked at Edward, "What's wrong with it?"
---
The Dog all the way down to the lobby and started to go through the Zombies, heading through small gaps of the Horde. The Canine was going through extreme pain as Vesco was mutating him.

Marcus was travelling too fast to pay attention to what was going on around him....so he simply tripped. He hit the ground hard, almost tumbling into one of the stray infected. A quick shot off had dispatched the one daunting over him, and Marcus stood to get up. WHen he looked about, the creature was nowhere in sight, but it didn't matter.
He had two choices: Go find Bennett or catch up with Edward and Gabriella. The choice was obvious. Much as Marcus hated it, he would have to let the other civillians go. "They could handle themselves anyway", he said to reassure himself. He hoped that the others would be smart enough to head out to the security room. He set off back towards the lower floors in hopes he could catch up with Bennett. Stupidly, he remembered the radio. He picked it up. "Bennett? It's Marcus. Where are you? I'm still on the third floor, heading down to the lower one- wait!" He spotted Bennett on the other escalator on the way up. Skipping over to him, he stared in shock at the blood. "Jesus! You get bit? We need to cover that up!" Without waiting for an answer, Marcus helped Bennett get to the matinence room.
It wasn't a serious wound, so Marcus had it bandaged effectively in seconds using improvised pieces. When Marcus was finished he finally looked Bennett in the eyes, and a wide grin spread across his own face. "Man, what an adventure! Man... you wouldn't beleive what I went through, man.... But we need to get out of here as fast as possible...there are creatures scarier than that Russian in this mall..." Marcus told Bennett his story when they parted, about meeting Edward and Gabriella and about the monster he had seen. It was disgusting to think about it.... especially the fact that he had charged the monster pathetically. He should have hoped to die, being so damn suicidal.
Finally, Marcus paused. "So what's your story? What happened to Breznhev?"

Bennett let out a rough cough. His body still ached from whatever in God's name had attacked him. The monster looked like something straight out of a horror film he had seen once. More than likely, what ever it was, it was linked to the creature Marcus was talking about.
"Bit? Yeah...you could say that." Bennett replied to Marcus' question about his arm. The attack from the creature had apparently ripped off the bandage he had placed upon it. After Marcus had patched him up, the officer told him his tale.
"So, what's your story?" Marcus asked. "What happened to Brezhnev?"
"The Russians..." he mused, as he looked at his bandaged arm. "They....they are killers." Bennett said bluntly, as he looked at Marcus.
"They really don't care whether we live or die....so long as they can kill anyone involved with Umbrella.....and I was not going to stand by and watch it happen....and there was no way I was going to be able to take down three men by myself....so I left." Bennett let out a slight chuckle as he looked at his shotgun. "They demanded their rifle back, like the world has a shortage of AKs..."
Bennett took an unsteady standing position and looked around the room.
"What about the people you were with?" Bennett asked Marcus. "Edward and Gabriella....where are they?"

"Hmm, looks to me like its infected. I havent seen the process happen with an animal before, looks different then a humans infection..." Staring down from the construction post where Gabriella and him had been standing, Edward saw the dog disappear out of sight after a few minutes. It looked like it was heading in the direction for Marcus, but he could be mistaken. A heavy rain made the moonlit shadows on the level dance around, and the heavy patting could be heard above them through on top of the skylight. Not letting it get to him, Edward pointed his flashlight back to the ground behind them, and then jumped down holding the shotgun firmly.
"I say we find somewhere to bunk up for the night, a hardware store maybe? Sound good?" As Gabriella nodded, she had jumped down, and Edward caught her, easing her drop a little out of courtesy. The others would be fine, maybe sticking around in a large group would be a mistake. Hed only ever survived on his own until finding Gabriella, and even having her around could hard. Splitting food, ammunition, having another back to watch, plenty of reasons. But it was a double sides coin. At the same time, Edward wouldnt have lasted this long without her around, she was a real life saver. However, having a group of four people? Sure, it would be four times the firepower, and even four sets of eyes to watch the surroundings. But when it came to making choices, one would feel obligated to wait for their team mate. Thats the move that would cost you.

Marcus looked up as if he could see the stars outside. He was concentrating, thinking about all the events that had transpired. He couldn't believe it.... it was awful. Was there a God? Where was he? Why wasn't he protecting them? Maybe he was, that that was why they were still alive. Still, if that were the case, maybe they'd be better off dead rather than enduring this hell...
Marcus shook his head to rid himself of those philosiphys. They wouldn't help him here. He turned to Bennett and said, "I suggested to head out to the security room. Perhaps we can try there first? You know, I don't wanna leave them, but we might be safer getting out of here after we check the security room. If we don't find them, maybe it'd be for the best..." Marcus dropped his head, like some bizzare nodding.
He stood up approaching the door, looking out to what lay beyond. "We better hurry... but it wouldn't hurt to wait..." He turned to Bennett and added, "Would it?" He was happy that he had essentially made a friend. When they first met, they had simply been working in the station, didn't even know the other existed. Now, Marcus relied on him more than ever. Even injured he felt like Bennett was the only one keeping him alive. Ironic, seeing as Marcus wasn't injured.

Gabriella agreed with Edward, they needed to find a place to hide and rest. After a few minutes, they both reached a small Grocery Store. A Hardware store would be useless, mostly because they had their guns but they needed to eat some food and drink clean water. After getting inside the store, Gabriella took a water bottle and drank from it, her dry throat was wet once again. But then a Tapping noise started to appear in the shop, the same noise that came from the Lizard-Like Creature. Gabriella knelt down and had her back up against the shelf. The creature came around the corner, sniffing their scent, then started to sniff her. For some reason, it couldn't make out that she was actually there and mistaken her for part of the shelf. She got up off the floor and looked at Edward, "I think we should get out of here....I seen a truck downstairs on the bottom floor through a window. She told him before pulling out her 9mm Pistol and started to run downstairs, shooting at zombies that came her way. Finally when they were downstairs in a Store, the Window showed a Truck right outside. She smashed the window and climbed out then got in the truck to notice some keys. The truck started to drive away with Edward and Gabriella...
---
Artemis ran off away from the infected man and started to trace a new scent towards a Grocery Store. When she got inside, she started to walk around the store, trying to find the humans so she could feed. She started to sniff around the store, until the trail stopped. Then she started to move around the store, listening for anyone or anything she could eat, but nothing was there and she left the Store. She was getting tired of hunting here, so she left through the Front Lobby Door and ran through the Zombie Horde whipping her tail around.
---
The dog started to walk off, until it came near a pair of Cerebus Hounds. The Mutts started to circle the helpless dog, but then the transformation was completed, Vesco was under control now. Vesco opened his mutated mouth, then watched the Enemy hounds carefully. One of the Zombie Dogs charged at him, but Vesco tackled the Enemy Canine to the ground and paralized him with his Venom. He turned his attention to the other hound, who just started to run at him. Vesco charged at his Rival Mutant and bit him as well, sending the Toxic Venom through the Canines body. Vesco started to leave the paralized hounds alone and ran off through the Back Door, seeing multiple zombies that came barging inside of the mall...

"If you sent them to the security room...then I guess-" Bennett started, but then he suddenly stopped speaking. He raised his hand to his head and winced in pain. He felt like a vice had been placed on his brain and it was being squeezed. He hissed in pain for several seconds when suddenly, as quickly as it had began, it stopped.
"Sorry..." Bennett said apologiticaly. "Had an intense head ache there for a second....anyway, let's head off to the security room if that is where you told them to meet you."
Bennett got to his feet and picked up his shotgun. Readying the weapon, he motioned to Marcus.
"Lead the way....you know the mall better than I do."

Marcus looked at Bennett, eyeing him carefully. He was worried about his "partner". Nonetheless, he moved on.
Marcus stepped out the door, still laying unmoving on the floor. He motioned to Bennett to follow him and ran through the random groupings of infected. He mentally crossed his fingers, hoping that nothing bad would happen to them. They had suffered enough, and he was sick of it. He just wanted to be with his family now... apologize to his brother and mother, and tell his father that he was a good man....
He allowed himself to trail off, stopping in frot of the escalator for the second time. As Bennett caught up with him, they charged up the stairs, taking a left around the glass railings to prevent them from falling over. Ironic, seeing that dying that way would be much more sound than from these monsters...
As they finished rounding the corner, the doorway of the security room coming into view, Marcus slowed down. The area looked virtually clear, so he once again waited for Bennett. Marcus was moving too fast for him to keep up. He decided to stay slow so Bennett could keep pace with him. He pulled out his Browning and aimed around the corner. Bennett, opposite him, did the same. They stepped towards the door and Marcus scanned it. He examined it to find it locked. Frustrated, he kicked it furiously, suddenly filled with anger. This bastion of hope closed off so they may not enter. They had gone through much in the last hour or so to get to this room, and now one more obstacle remained. Marcus realized all he had to do was shoot the lock (keylock and not a cardkey. The original manager was too cheap and there never was much crime). He hoped they wouldn't need it again.
One bullet later, they both stepped inside, searching the room, negotiating with the walls and two second rooms within. When they realized there was no danger, Marcus dropped his guard and saw Bennett do the same. Marcus immediately walked over to the surveillance system to find Edward and Gabriella as Bennett closed the door and barricaded it with a nicely sized table. He checked every working camera and found no trace of them. Had they been killed? It was not likely. They weren't stupid; they had lasted this long against that creature, after all. Marcus, frustrated ocne again, let go of the controls and sunk down to the floor, taking a deep breath to calm himself. He looked over at Bennett and said, "They aren't here. They aren't here and it's my fault because I left them, and I did not pay attention and I left you and-" (Hope you don't mind me using your character for this quick dialogue lol. Don't feel like having to make you respond with this little piece) "Calm down! It isn't your fault that they're gone!" Bennett said to him. Just the souund of Bennett's voice calmed him. At least he didn't fail him. They were both still alive and they could go find them...no...it would be wiser to get out of here. Marcus looked at Bennett and said, we need to get out of here. Can you search for the quickest way out from here with the cameras? I'm going to search the two rooms for anything special." And with a nod from Bennett, Marcus walked to the first of the two rooms.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Coming back from the search, shotgun in hand, Marcus was smiling wider than the Golden Arches that were sometimes in front of McDonald's. It looked like a Remington 870, but he couldn't tell. He thought of passing it to Bennett but thought against it with his injury. he also thought of offering his 686P but the mechanism he had installed on it would not allow Bennett to hold the weapon straight, let alone aim with it. Making a sling with a sturdy tie he found in one of the lockers for the shotgun, he looked at Bennett and said, "Find a way out? And if you want this shotgun, you can have it. If not, I'll take it."

OOC: No worries with the minor dialouge.
Bennett nodded as Marcus suggested he scan the security cameras for a fast, safe way out of the mall. As Marcus searched the room, Bennett looked at the monitors with unease. It seemed that every view had at least five infected shambling around in view. He scanned through the channels, looked on at the undead eyes that stared back at him and sighed. As iit looked, no matter how they decided to leave the mall, they would run into some form of resistance.
By the time Marcus came back, Bennett was rubbing his eyes from the strain of staring at the monitors. He looked over at Marcus who was grinning like the cat got the milk. He saw that he had found a shotgun.
"As far as a way out....no matter if we go through the back entrance, front entrance, or even through parking, we are going to have zombies....however they are pretty spread out near the back entrance. If we keep quiet, and keep our nerves, we will be able to get past without as much as firing a shot." Bennett replied to Marcus, as he hefted up his own shotgun. "And you can keep the weapon....I will stand by my own."
He slung the scattergun over his shoulder as he drew his sidearm. As he did so, his radio began to go off.
"....elp....hedral....inside there are...viors....ease help us....ase respo..." the radio hissed and whinned with static as the transmission came through. Bennett took the radio off of his belt and pressed the call button.
"This is Officer Bennett....can you hear me? Respond, over." Bennett spoke into the radio.
"...ar yo...Plea....Cath...own...we are...nder...tack...us!"
Bennett cursed under his breath, he could barely hear the person on the line and looked over at Marcus.
"Can you understand them?"

Marcus shook his head, then abruptly stopped. “Sounded like they were talking about the cathedral… but…” Marcus shook his head once again and said, “That may be our best bet. If they aren’t there at least we will still have a destination.”
With a nod, Marcus stepped to the door, but not before asking, “What do you think they’re up against? Regular infected or monsters?”

"Who knows..." Bennett replied, as he gripped his hand on the door knob and exited the room. "I'm on point."
Bennett aimed down the shotgun as he moved out of the security room. He swept it around and spotted at least three infected shambling down the hall on the right and four down the hall on the left. Thanks to the closed quaters, they would be forced to take down which ever group down the hallway path that they decided to go down.
"Three targets right, four left." Bennett said to Marcus, "We move at your ready."

(Alright....lol)
A quick nod to Bennett was all the acknowledgement he needed. The right end was cleared, the left ignored as Marcus and Bennett sped through before the shamblers could even turn. Down back the way they had came, down the escalator, dodging and clearing out zombies when neccessary.
When they had hit the bottom floor, they stopped for a breather. So far, so good, Marcus thought to himself. He was happy there was no sign of the monster that had followed them into the mall, which he was happy for. As they headed towards the vent Marcus had entered, he slowed himself. They were at a corner convenience store built inside the mall. They walked into the men’s bathroom at the back, where the vent was placed. As Marcus helped Bennett into the vent, Marcus had turned around, reopening the door. He was tempted to take off and try and find Gabriella and Edward. He was sure they were okay, but at the same time he wanted to be… well, sure. He had no way of actually knowing they were alright, and Marcus still had a feeling that he had let them down, even if they were the ones who left him. Marcus shook his head in self-assurance and closed the door, turning back to the vent, where Bennett beckoned him to follow.
As he hoisted himself up with the help of Bennett, he pulled himself into the duct, and they went on their way. Marcus, feeling worried, turned back one last time to view the washroom. He didn’t think he’d ever come back here….(as he drifted in thought) or come back to Raccoon in general… All he would need is one way out and he would leave all of it behind. He wasn’t selfish, but he had suffered too much already here.
(Go ahead and post in the next area you want us to “stop” at, lol.)

*Remus and Jennifer arrive at the mall*
Remus' hands were shaking. His head was pounding and he could hear whispers all around him. He needed to calm his nerves and he needed to do it fast. Walking quickly up to the entrance of the mall, he spotted one of those plastic cigarette disposals. Taking out his bowie knife, he stabbed into it. Shifting through the sand at the bottom, Remus found a half smoked cigarette. Taking the lighter from his pocket, he put the cigarette to his mouth and lit it. Sucking in and inhaling deeply, the whispers began to fade. Another inhale, and his hands began to stop shaking. One more and it stopped entirely.
Remus let his head hang forwards limp, all of the tension leaving his body. Jennifer walked up to him and craned her neck to see his face. She smiled.
"Better?" she asked. Remus laughed.
"Much better." He said truthfully. Serenity stretched her hand out to him. Taking it he walked her to a bench. Sitting down, Remus reclined, soaking up the momentary calm. Taking another puff from his cigarette, he lazily watched Jennifer, stooping low to look at something. He cocked his head and grinned.
"What'cha got there Jen?" he asked. Without looking up she replied,
"Ants." Remus laughed.
"Ants?" he asked amusedly. She turned to him with a scowl.
"Yes! Ants!" Remus grinned and took another inhale from his cigarette. 'Oh what it must be like to be young and care free.' he thought to himself. 'So easily amused by ants while the rest of the world falls to s***.' Flicking his spent cigarette to the side, Remus relaxed and watched Jennifer play, not wanting to spoil what little fun she could have in this world.
