From the immense violence that occured during the outbreak, the animals broke free and attacked their captors, creating a massive genocide that lasted for several city blocks. Many animals have escaped- including lions, elephants, rhinos, alligators, wild birds etc.. Many of those have been infected, including a large number of various other animals. It's extremely dangerous to venture near here or anywhere within a few blocks radius. Wild animals- some infected, others not, still roam the area... Many are hungry and some are even hungry for flesh; it all depends how lucky a survivor gets. There's nothing of worth within these gates, and that which was worth some has gone now during the looting phase the first few days. If you happen to find yourself near here, it's advisable to get as far away as possible in the shortest amount of time possible.

DJ Morris walked slowly around the corner to the front gates of the Raccoon City Zoo. He had heard about the danger, but his mission was to protect survivors. He felt as though he was obligated to check even here, maybe on the off chance that someone actually survived here and was waiting for someone to save them. Can't just leave anyone to die can I? He thought to himself as he looked at the open gate to the Zoo's main path.
"There are people all over the place here, and not all of 'em know that the Airport is mostly safe." A soldier had told him during his first few days at the Raccoon City Airport. "We can never afford to leave here in case the undead start massing up, so we leave them to die. It's a s---ty situation, but it's how we do things." He had patted DJ on the shoulder. "But, you owe these people, don't you? I can see where you scratched out the marks, the Umbrella you once carried. I think you owe them at least a chance. It's the least you can do."
It was on that condition that he would be allowed to stay among the other civilians. He would be supplied ammo and equipment so long as he made an attempt to search for survivors. It was a weird twist of fate, considering his job had been the exact opposite in Umbrella. Now, he brought them back instead of killing them. Strange world.
He pondered it all in the back of his mind as he slowly walked down the pathway. He saw the open cages, the blood covering the bars, the feathers all over in what was once bird cages.
Just another new version of Hell...
He held his MP5 close to him, the silencer at the end looking clean and deadly. He didn't even know why he still had it on, he guessed it was because he believed it even worked on zombies. So far, the silence hadn't ceased to attract them.
He saw a dead body inside one of the ticket booths, the others were bloody but looked to be empty. The body belonged to that of a man, looking to be no older than 40 with long hair and the "RCZ" uniform of cargo pants and a brown shirt. He kept his eye on the man, but he didn't appear to be a zombie, nor had he any threat of becoming one.
The man had a huge wound in his chest, either an explosion or a shotgun round had ripped him open. The glass was mostly intact besides the obvious marks left by the BBs inside of a shell. The man had his head thrown back over the chair he was in, mouth open and eyes stuck in eternal surprise.
Finally making it past the ticket booths, he pulled out a map from an information rack. He began to decide how he would cover the grounds.

Amada had ran down the streets, zig zagging from the undead. She took no effort in killing them, it would just be a waste of ammo. They were slower then her, which made escape simple unless an increase in numbers intimidated her actions. Then she remembered what was near her location, the zoo. She had remembered from the last outbreak, her and everyone else gathered inside of that place. It was fairly safe, but it houses man animals infected with the virus, not so much humans. Amanda thought about wether leaving Louis was the right choice, but knew she had made up for it. All he wanted to was to find Rey, so thats all she helped him with, putting everything else aside.
Before leaving, Amanda had written a note for him, it was the least she could do for running away. Holding the shotgun in both hands, she found her way into the Raccoon City Zoo. She remembered how bad this place was from the last outbreak, and it looked just as bad years later during this second one. But she assumed that the buildings were all in the same places, which would make finding refuge quite easy. Amanda ran by the ticket booths, vaulting over a fence, not noticing the man until after she was in the open. The man looked to be an Umbrella Soldier, but then something about his uniform told her otherwise. "You might wanna stay out of the open stranger... This place isnt safe..."
Amanda walked forward toward the man, but a growl coming from the westerm concorus gave her the signal to get out of here. She waved he hand for the man to follow, as he turned to find the nearest safe point inside and out of danger. Amanda ran up to the large building across from the open cages, and kicked open the door. Checking back and fourth with her shotgun, she held the door from closing before the other man arrived. She didnt hear any noise inside the building, which was a sure sign that the room was clear as of now. Amanda sat down on the bench, and waited for the man to enter the building. That is, unless he had other business to take care of.

When he first saw her, DJ had raised his weapon and switched the safety off. He stared her down for a second, but realized she wasn't a threat. He heard her talk, something all knowing in her voice. He followed her to the building.
Seeing her on the bench, he slowly walked over, wary of whether or not this was a trap. He wanted to get the weapon away from her, not knowing her or her intent. He instead sat down, across from her, leaning on a table.
"Ma'am, I'm here to bring you to safety. I'm going to have to ask you to relinquish control of your weapon and come with me. We have a safe area at the airport in which you will be supplied three meals a day and a place to sleep, among protection from the military." He sat, reciting the same old lines he always had, though it always carried an interesting sound from the gas mask.
He looked at her. She was a very pretty woman, but looked to be very young. No actin' a fool, DJ. Laws still apply... he thought.
He sat looking at her through the mask, eyes hidden behind red glass.

Amanda knew that leaving would be a bit of a raw choice at this point. As much as the airport sounded like a good idea, she had no intentions of leaving. Inside, she laughed when the man told her to give up her shotgun, that was really crossing her line. Amanda stared at the machine gun in the mans hands, and knew he was a good shot with it. He just had that look to him, like he was born with one in his hands. He wanted her to get out of here, putting her safety before anything else. But Amanda wasnt scared of the dark, and didnt want anyone holding her hand. "The names Amanda Knowlins... I understand your here to help, but with all due respect, im k-"
Suddonly, there was a shuffle in the room paralelle to them, as she stood up to listen closer. The door bursted open, as some four legged animal leaped into the aim toward her. Raising her shotgun, she fired, blasting to into the wall. "If you feel like leading us, have at it... But im keeping my gun ready for whatever comes around that corner... We can find survivers that are more in need of saving then me." Amanda knew also, that the airport was on the other side of town. Or at least she was pretty sure it was. Looking at a map of this place on the wall to get her bearings, and figured out that it would cut time back if they crossed through the zoo. Amanda then faced the man with her eyes bright, and raising an eyebrow. "...Lets say we are going to the Airport.... We should take a little shortcut..."

He jumped up to shoot before the girl took care of the creature herself. He looked at her, the gun still smoking. He walked over to see what kind of animal it was. "Cougar...highly volatile, even without the virus...." He said, curiously.
After listening to her idea, he nodded. "I suppose. Follow me, and stay close. If we get separated, then your screwed." He walked up to the front door, checking outside. He saw a single bird pecking at an eyeball. He raised his gun and silently disposed of it(27 rounds left in clip), blood and feather going up in a puff of smoke.
"Form up, follow me." He slowly walked out, moving slowly onto the walkway. Though his gas mask hid the smell, he could tell by the sights that this place must reek of death.
Bodies were visible all of the way down the pathway, blood and guts lining the sides of cages, buildings, and grass. He kept his MP5 raised slightly, ready to bring it to eye level. He didn't really understand why people were so scared of this zoo. A young girl was even able to deal with the threats here.
DJ calmly continued moving, making sure that the girl was coming with him.

Amanda haued her Shotgun over her shoulder, then nodded to the man. If she got lost, then he wouldve wasted his time. She could smell the death from all around her, it was something she was used to by now. Inside, she really hoped thather friend had found Rey by now, because she hated the fact that she would be all alone. That was one of the reasons she came to the zoo, it was close to the hotel. But putting faith in her friend, she quickly focused on the now situation. Amanda couldnt help but feel some anxiety, but it wasnt the good kind. She just wanted for something to jump out at them, and just hoped one of them would be ready to deal with it.
"Wonder how all the animals got out... They couldnt have did it themselves... Could they?" Amanda normally liked animals, and visits to the zoo were something she enjoyed about living in Raccoon City. She lived so close to it, and never got tired of seeing the creatures. But since the last outbreak, she never came to the zoo anymore, it gave her nightmares. Amanda aimed her shotgun around at the empty cages, knowing that all of the once beautys were now out loose on an endless killing spree. Following close to the man, she looked down at the ground to her right, and saw something shining. Braching off from his position, she bent down to pick it up, examining it. It looked like some kind of Medal, with a Raccoon City engraving into it. "Check it out... Wonder what this is for?"

OOC: I've changed the location of my plane crash into the surrounding area of the zoo. Just for a note, Ari is a dog type B.O.W. but she appears as a normal white Akita Inu, she does not have ripped skin, flesh wounds/etc. The reason I changed location is, it's more likely for my character to get to the airport this way seeing as how your posts going lol.
The planes engines... They had failed it was all so sudden and quick Ari was unable to comprehend what to do at the situation she had fallen asleep within Amy's lap, sweet sweet Amy... Where had the girl gone? The plane from London was suppost to goto Hawaii where the survivors would be safe, where Amy would be safe. Sadly a unexpected factor arrived as the planes engines burst into flames the cause was of some chemical other than gasoline within the tanks which caused the engines to burst into flames after they had flew for a while. The plane had made it to around the Raccoon City area, they had landed within the city. As the plane was having an emergency landing near the city the plane snapped in half as a engine exploded causing damage to the body of the plane, The plane was in chaos and Amy had been seperated from her guardian angel. The plane snapped in two, the front had landed around the airport, the back around the area of the Raccoon Zoo. Amy was in the front of the plane at the time of the chaos, Ari was in the back.
*Whimper...* Ari let out a low whimper as she got out of the wreck of the plane, from the looks of it no one else had survived... What did Ari expect, they were frail and already dying humans, Ari on the otherhand a well built and advanced canine B.O.W. Ari walked around the wreckage of the plane, but couldn't find Amy anywhere. Ari needed to find Amy, Amy was Ari's only reason for life at the moment, the only problem was Ari had no idea where the airport was, and she couldn't read street signs, afterall she was a dog. Suddenly as Ari looked around the area she began to hear noises, there were zombies all over, the rotting flesh could be smelled so easily, the plane crash had alerted the zombies they would soon wander over to the wreck and feed on the dead bodies of the plane crashers. Ari would be capable of fending off simple zombies, but what point would that have, Ari needed a living human to read signs and hopefully direct her to the location of Amy. Ari ran into the closest area, the Raccoon City Zoo, Ari couldn't read, but the large sign seemed welcoming, she could smell living flesh within the zoo, maybe there was a non-hostile human who could aid her. She ran in the zoo in hopes of help.

DJ was walking slowly. "The animals were infected through some of the keepers most likely. The infection spread within 2-3 hours and all hell was already breaking loose. I suggest you keep on task." He stopped as she picked up the medal.
She must be trying to die or something...just walking out into the open. He shook his head.
"Keep it with you. Maybe we need it for something later. We should-" He stopped. He heard something walking, like claws tapping against the ground. It was coming from behind them.
"Jesus...what now?" He said in a whisper. He turned around and looked down the path. He could see something that looked white, even though his vision was tinted from the red. "Get cover, stay down now....You hear me, ma'am?" He began slowly walking towards the creature, his gun raised up slightly.
He had read about BOWs and branching projects off of the Cerberus project, but he hadn't seen something like this before. It must have been secret, or maybe off of the radar. He stopped and looked at it. A majestic animal...no way that was normal. Anything that was here during the outbreak couldn't look like a house pet, they would've looked raggedy and dirty.
I'm going to have to light this thing up....I think.... He said, getting ready to raise his gun. He realized, out of the corner of his eye, that an Umbrella symbol still remained on his glove.
Have to deal with that later. He thought.

Ari scented the air and heard the sound of two people, she had keen hearing, she could almost pin point their exact location... Ari would need to find some way to approach them without being shot at. She began to slowly walk toward them while keeping near cover, in the case they began shooting at her. Suddenly her satillite communicator with Amy went off, "Ari? Can you hear me?! It's me Amy I'm safe at the airport, we crash landed I'm fine. Are you alive still? please bark if you can hear this!" Ari was suprised as the transmission came in, but at the same time happy that the transmission was loud and clear, Amy had the satillite phone still, but the most important part was she was unharmed and protected at the moment. Ari truthfully didn't understand the whole message due to her being a dog, but with her high intelligence levels she was able to make out "Ari, Hear Me? It's Amy, I'm safe... Airport. Bark for Me!" Ari stayed silent though she wanted dearly to respond, but couldn't at the moment.
The idea hit the little white dog like a bullet, Maybe she could get help getting to the "Airport" with the help of the people, hopefully they would hear the transmitter on Ari's neck and maybe respond back to Amy? Ari would have to be cautious about this, Maybe her little puppy dog look might work? Ari slowly walked toward the people tounge out, she began to wag her tail and let out a soft playful bark, making sure not to alert the people too much as she did so. Another Transmission came in with Amy's clear voice, "Ari your okay! Are any other plane survivors with you? Let them talk to me, maybe they can help you get to the airport, try to find some soldiers, the soldiers protecting the airport said they sent out rescue squads hopefully you can get one of them to help you?" Amy was saying this in hopes to be reunited with the closest thing to family, she said it in a sad way, as if she was already losing her dog. Ari was now standing near the humans hoping that they had heard her transmission, and would help the dog out.

With the dog slowly approaching him, DJ started to shake a little. It didn't look hostile, but he'd been wrong before. He thought he heard it talking to him.
I'm losing my mind... He thought, then he saw the collar on the dogs neck. "...What the..."
The bark made him jump, his finger almost pulling the trigger. He sighed. The voice came back from the collar. He caught the part about putting survivors on the line, and took the transmitter from the dog. He shook his head, as this was extremely uncharacteristic of him. He never put himself in such a dangerous position before.
"This is DJ Morris, former Umbrella Soldier. Ummm... Can i be of assistance?" He said into the line. He hit himself in the mask.
Why did I mention Umbrella?? Stupid... He thought.
His past ties to Umbrella had screwed him at every turn. Other survivors harbored a hate for him since he was a member of the company that ruined their lives. He had been shot at, spit on and attacked for his past sins. He understood the hate, so he took it all in stride. He tried to hide it as much as he could, but habit of saying the name of his only employer became a reflex.
He waited for a response.

"What?! A Former Umbrella Soldier?!" The voice of Amy came out of the transmitter in a shocked and suprised voice, Ari listened as the man listened to the transmission.
"What have you done to my dog!? You better not have done anything!" Amy said in a angry tone, Amy was the daughter of a former Umbrella Scientist. From the moment Umbrella had sent in people to take Dr. Grey's research she had hated the company ever since, both her parents died along with the majority of the lab workers within their hidden facility. Suddenly Ari made a happy little bark to notify she was fine and doing okay, the communicator was only turned on from one side, once Amy turned on her phone every noise could be heard from the other side. Amy had most likely heard the little bark, and understood Ari was fine.
"Okay I see Ari is fine, what are you planning on doing with my dog..." Amy began to wonder, Ari was listening as Amy was talking, Ari began to wonder what the man would do and how he would react.

"Listen, Ma'am. Your dog came up to me. It didn't appear aggressive, so I let it approach, and you voice came through. I don't know what you want me to do at this point, and frankly I don't even know who you are. I'm here to help survivors to safety. Do you want..." He sighed, couldn't believe he was doing this. "Do you want me to take the dog along? We are heading to the airport if you wanna meet us there."
He held the transmitter to his hear, waiting for a response. He hated going out of his way for petty things, usually he just went and brought back survivors. The animals were a risk that he never really took, but now his stupidity made him responsible. He shook his head, and continued waiting. He looked back and made sure that Amanda was alright.

[Sorry, but I cant keep up with you guys... Its all cool, dont worry about it. You two have fun, ill take Amanda out of there...]
Amanda got a call on her cellphone, it was from Rey. She had told her that Louis found the apartment, and is safe on the inside. She was very happy that everyone was able to find who they were searching for, everyone but herself. Amanda still had to find someone, and had a pretty good idea where they might be. "Sorry, but I have somewhere I gotta be... And its worth putting my life on the line, so ill see you around..." Amanda hated to leave, but knew it was a choice she had to make one way or another. Some things in life come ahead of others, this event having no exception. She held the shotgun tightly in her hands, and then sprinted away from the zoo, and finally out of sight...

"Fine... I'll be waiting at the airport for you, if Ari is harmed in any way you'll have to face me!" This was an empty threat of course, after all what could an unarmed girl at the age of 13 do to an armed soldier, but it was the thought that counted. Ari barked in glee as Amy ordered the man to bring her to her objective. Ari was happy that Amy had planned this out, Ari’s planning and such has worked perfectly, she would soon meet up with Amy in no time. Ari quickly hopped up and snatched the collar communicator from the man and quickly tossed in into the air, she then popped into the collar as if she were a dog in the circus. Ari wagged her tail and looked at the man, the woman behind the man had said some things and had suddenly left, she didn’t matter to Ari, but the fact that there would only be one person escorting the dog troubled her. Hopefully this one man would be capable of transporting Ari alone, there would be problems if Ari were to be used in combat and aid the man in getting to the airport. He would instantly see she was a B.O.W. and may even get startled if she went into combat. Well for now all she had to worry about was getting to the airport.
