As soon as July made it into the new room, she was nearly breathless. Of all the things she was ordered to do just to survive with a roof over her head, this was almost not worth doing. She more than likely wasn't even finished with her job and wouldn't know if she was ready to go home until she could actually decipher the papers.
The room the five people were stuck inside was a mess, probably about as clean as the other buildings July spent most of her time sleeping in. However, when it came to those types of buildings, the animals that were inside just laid there rotting until they were taken away by a gang member or just simply rotted away into nothing. The animals inside the police station that were not amongst the undead just laid there without rotting. It was just weird.
She quickly became entertained by Ethan holding up Allister. July wasn't sure why, but something about it entertained her for a short while. It may have been because she had the same question in her head or perhaps it was because the attention seemed to be aimed away from her.
Whatever the case was, July used this time to pay half of her attention towards Ethan and Allister and use the rest of her attention to snoop through the desk and other boxes for something that could be of some use. Nobody was probably going to come back here so what was left was there for the taking.
A nearby side desk with a turned over lamp on the top was locked, but with the use of her lockpick, July got it open with no problems. There was a key inside, but she was unsure of what it went to, so she left it alone for the time being. She would more than likely grab it before she left. One of the top drawers of the large desk in the room had something of good use to her: a box of bullets. A gun was also in there, but she didn't bother taking it. The bullets was something that she was in desperate need of.
While still watching Allister and Ethan, July continued her ransacking of the office for useful items.

Allister glared down on Ethan in almost bored disgust.
"I doubt you'd be able to understand even if I explained it to you. Serenity is not a kid. It is a thing. A bio-engineered weapon of the umbrella corporation. All of the affection you feel towards it now is the product of chemical pheromones. It is designed to get in your head and steal your trust. More then any of that though, it is a mistake, and one that I intend to rectify." Allister's eyes were cold.
"You have nothing to do with Serenity, it is a ink splotch on my past. I will use it for research into furthering the development of a cure, and when I am finished, I will terminate it. It's existence is pitiful besides, it's better off dead."

The airman scowled at the scientist, his head much clearer now, thanks to the adrenaline flushing whatever was effecting him out of his system, it didn't hurt the girl, thing, was out cold at the moment. He came to the conclusion that this guy was connected with Umbrella, quite possibly a researcher considering all he knew. Jake even without the briefings that Umbrella personnel were to be consider dangerous and be avoided at all costs where the non combat based troops came to mind.
Jake push's the thoughts about the man away, for now the first priority was to escape. The group would be able to hear the mass of zombies banging and clawing at the door to the hallway leading to the office, it was only a matter of time. "Nightshade, I'm right there with you, but we have more pressing matters to attend to right now" he says to the man he was beginning to call a partner survivor after what they've dealt with so far. "Give him a good hit across the face for me while I look for something".
The airman thought back to the tour he had been on of the station some time ago, and recalled one of the "GeeWhiz" facts they were told, that the Chief of Police back in 98 had a secret passage way. It was their only shot.
He looked around the office and spied a brown stain on the floor leading to a spot under a number of boxes, he nods to July, "Watch yourself" he says as he pushes the boxes over, the noise they make as they tumble to the floor seems to excite the mod outside, now in the hallway leading to the office.
He grabs the trapdoor and hopes for the best as he hefts it up, the dim light of emergency lights barely illuminating the room below. He doesn't hear or see any movement below and takes a chance, making sure the TMP is off safe and ready to go he grabs the ladder and slides down.
He's greeted with the smell of preservative chemicals, along with the outline of jars on shelves on the wall. Still not seeing any movement he moves back to the ladder and calls up, "Hey it looks safe enough down here, can someone get down here with a flashlight or something?!".

"Umbrella huh? Well that puts you right on the top of my watchlist while I'm in this city. I hope you weren't about to tell me you worked with them."
Ethan let the doctor down, giving him a second to compose himself before pushing him against the wall.
"and don't look down your damn nose at me."
He walked over to were Jake and July, giving her a quick once over as she rooted around the desk, before taking a look at the trapdoor passage. The stink threw him off for a second as he rooted around his pocket for a penlight, climbing down to take a look.
"Well, I take it the taxidermy wasn't store bought. The old chief must have had some sick recreation time."
In the centre of the room was a large slab like table with dried blood trailing down it, onto the floor towards a drain at the edge. The shelves were stocked with jars of both the chemicals everyone was smelling and other less common contents.
"Formaldehyde." Ethan picked up a large jar looking at the murky liquid. "He was preserving the internal organs."
The jars on the shelves were clearer, kidneys, stomachs, livers, hearts, but the jar Ethan was holding was a bit of a puzzle, he gave it a shake to try and see the contents, before gritting his teeth and putting it back on the shelf, turning it away so it wouldn't make eye contact with anyone else. The sicko actually had part of an infant in there.
"He didn't just work with animals apparently." Ethan tried to sound stern rather than sickened beyond all comprehension. He shone the light around finding, curled up in the corner, the bones of a heavy looking man in rotten clothing clutching a rusted useless desert eagle.
"The infamous chief." Ethan shone the light across to the opposite wall highlighting the remainder of his leg bones. "and the rest of the chief."

July looked over the room and its walls. There were pictures decorating them: some photographs and others paintings. The photographs were nothing entirely special, just of a couple of officers posing for the camera that was taking their picture. In all four photographs on the wall, the same man was in every single one of them. That one must be the police chief. July had been the police station multiple times ever since it was safe enough for her to do so, but never once had she actually seen the chief. However, if he was anything like the cops she had come across, he was more than likely an ass.
The next thing she did was investigate the remaining paintings hung on the walls and not touched by anything other than dirt and spackles of blood. By living the way she had done since she was six, she learned how to hide little secrets in the walls if they were available. Almost all the buildings she slept in had some sort of secret hole in the wall by either another gang or the original owners that abandoned the property. Of course, a few times the Silver Bladed Gang made little holes of their own and hid them behind boxes or old pictures.
The first two paintings had nothing behind them except for a blank wall. The third painting had what she was looking for: a wall with some little goodies. Inside the little hole was an unlabled bottle full of liquid, a book, and a bag full of a white powder July only knew as drugs. The book was written in the form of a diary written in such a strange way that she couldn't even read the letters she knew. The liquid, when she opened the lid and took a little sniff of what was inside, smelled so strong that it made her cough. Whatever that was, it couldn't be good.
From the hole she was standing at, she heard a slow but repetitive tapping at the blocked door to the room. From the sound of it, only one of the zombies that ravaged the city was pounding at the door though she couldn't hear the moans. It couldn't be an actual living person. If it was, the taps would be bangs and it would be quicker. For now, everyone in the room was safe enough.

By now the taps were getting more frequent, more must have been piling up on the door. The young airman looked at the body Nightshade pointed out, "Well I guess that solves the mystery of what happened to the chief all those years ago" he says to Nightshade.
He looks around the room, his eyes having adjusted to the low light, and spots an old looking lamp. He shrugs his shoulders and tries it, which to his surprise baths the room in light. The airman moves to Nightshade "What do you say we leave Umbrella up there to deal with his own creations" he whispers in a barely contained tone of disgust in his voice.
After he hears Nightshade's agreement he moves to the chief's skeleton and finds another trap door, "What you think? Should we go farther down, better than waiting for that mob and whatever that kid is".

"Good plan, let's just go."
Ethan led the way down the ladder, a trapdoor leading to a grid iron walkway, which again led to a small personal elevator. He stood by the controls and waited for everyone to catch up, hitting descend afterwards. On the way down he thought over leaving Alistar behind, on one hand if he was the kind of person that designed Bioweapons and wasn't apologetic like he made clear, it was pretty much karma to leave him with the kid and the other mutants. On the other hand....
"I'll be with you guys in a sec." As they disembarked he sent the elevator back up in case the man needed a quick exit.
The elevator had dropped them at a small concrete tunnel leading downwards, the lower area had shin deep water filling it before a large metal door. Ethan reeled the end of his cape up so it wouldn't get soaked, the weight of wet material would make it harder to fight with. Afterwards he grabbed the door handles and looked to the others.
"Three..two..one.." He pulled them open, letting the two with the guns get a clear look on the other side.

(sorry about the extremely long wait. I promise that unless something extreme happens, I will never take this long for a post and I will be more often)
July placed the strong smelling liquid into her bag. It stunk to the high heavens, but maybe she could give it to somebody who knew what the stuff was. Other than that, she found nothing else of good use to her and turned towards the open trapdoor. When the others started heading down the trapdoor, she decided to follow suit. It could be safer than staying up in the office where anything could come in and get the small group.
July shuddered as she stepped in the water. Because most of the clothes she wore were either very worn or at least a size bigger than her own size, the water seeped into her shoes. She was used to some water from the outside dripping and running down her skin, but her feet were different than her arms and hands. They felt more sensitive. The water went deeper up her leg than it did for the two men she was with.
She didn't have the luxury of protecting her clothes from the water. Sure, she could roll up her pants, but because they were a bit too big for her, if she tried to roll them up, they would unroll down her twiggy legs. If she ever came across a place with fresh clothes, she would steal a set that would fit and not be really worn out. Until that happened, she would have to endure the water and other elements around her.
As soon as the doors opened, July raised her gun and placed her hand on the trigger, but did not pull it. She did shoot at a lot of things, but she wasn't trigger-happy. Not like it would have mattered if she hit anything ahead of Ethan. As far as she could hear and see, there was nothing of a threat ahead of her and the next room was silent.

OOC: No worries Esca.
IC:
Jake followed Ethan to the elevator and covered July as she followed him. The trip down was uneventful and peaceful. He noted the shin high water, paying attention to and slight change in the water, as that was deep enough for an infected to 'hide'. The water is just over his boots and seems in a bit through the bloused pants of his uniform. Other than the risk of hidden dangers the water didn't bother the young airman, he'd been up to waist high water before during training.
He moved next to the girl, the TMP up and ready as Ethan opens the door.
Neither he nor July find any threats, it looked as if this passage hadn't been used for decades almost. He motioned over to Ethan for him to move up. "Hey Nightshade, call me crazy, but I think we are in the sewers" he says as he registers the foul smell around them.
The room they are in seems to be a tunnel way leading to a large open area.

"You'd be right about that. Lucky we seem to be in the post processed water tunnels. So you won't be walking in any suprises. All the same if you trip up in the water here keep your mouth closed."
Ethan scouted ahead a short ways. The tunnels had lights strung up illuminating the way head somwhat. Moss caked the walls though making the air heavy and damp in some places. What sounded like a large fan could be heard down one side tunnel while the others were quiet. Everyone had heard the stories about Raccoon sewer inhabitants. Giant spiders that could pick off a group one by one, alligators and frogs flushed down the toilet by Umbrella and grown to giant size, mutant earthworms that caused earthquakes when they moved and swarms of roaches that could strip a man to the bones in minutes. The last one sounded the worst to Ethan.
Confident the route ahead was safe for now he made his way back to Jack and July, noting her discomforted look.
"Looks safe head, best stay together though. Hey, you okay kid?"

July continued walking through the sewers. Unlike most other people, she had not heard stories about the sewers of Raccoon City. She had no time to listen to stories back in Collins and even if she did have time, she probably wouldn't have bothered to listen to them. Stories were all the same, just made up things that one person made up to scare another person, or at least that's how the teenager saw it.
The sewers didn't scare her. In her eyes, the sewers of any city was nothing more than a nasty-smelling waterway that a person could use to sneak into an area or get lost if they couldn't find the way they wanted to go. This sewer smelled particularily nasty and she wanted to get out as quickly as she could.
"You okay, kid?"
July turned her head towards Ethan and frowned. "I'm fine. Don't worry about me." she said curtly. She didn't show it, but she was slightly grateful that the two men were with her. If something came up to her, the two would probably protect her. Plus, if the water became too high, she could climb onto one of their backs and they might not even notice.
She then stopped and waited for Ethan and Jake to continue on, her ears open for any sounds that did not belong.

ooc: permission recived for kanian to temporarily control his character during his absence and remove him from the group.
ic:
A crash sounded from back at the elevator shaft, a small wave washed towards the group rippling the water around them as the moans picked up again. Ethan looked back shining the penlight down the tunnel again. A mob of shadows reacted to the light and started moving towards the group.
"They must have weighed down the elevator." Ethan suggested. "Anyone have any ideas?"
"Just one." Jake cut in, using his TMP to strike a valve handle at the side of the tunnel, a large gate dropped between the group cutting the airman off from Ethan and July.
"What the hell are you doing?" Ethan tried to lift the gate as Jake jammed the valve with a piece of broken pipe. "Open that thing up, get on this sided."
"They'd just get through eventually. I'll thin them down and find another way out. I got my mission and I'm sure you have yours."
Ethan reluctantly stopped forcing the gate and handed some of his supplies through the spaces between the bars.
"Don't you get killed now."
"Pfft, I'm United States Air Force. We fly while weak men die."
With that, Jake ran back down the tunnel until he faded from sight. Opening fire with his sub machine gun soon after and cutting his way through the crowd. Ethan waited for a minute afterwards, hanging his head hoping the best for his friend.
"Okay July, where do you need to bring that file?"

July momentarilly paused. She had to decide if she should tell the truth or not. If she did tell the truth on what the papers were for, she could potentionally have someone that could help translate the words so she could understand and give the information back to the gang as soon as she got it. On the other hand, if she did tell the truth, her life would literally be over as soon as the gang got wind of what happened...and she couldn't risk it.
"It don't matter where I need to bring it. It don't concern you." she said sharply, her eyes urging him to change the subject to something else. By this time, the undead and anything else that could harm the remaining two had stopped coming and July took this to her advantage. She continued walking down the sewers towards the end without saying a word, Ethan following if he wished.

Ethan was taken aback when the girl snapped at him over the file. Something was really eating at her, in the metaphorical sense rather than the things trapped with the Airman would try to do. He considered taking a glance at the pages he'd swiped earlier, but decided against it while she could easily turn around and see him do it.
Despite being officially off the force for some time, he still thought like a policeman though. Inside his head he juggled every little detail he had picked up. First, she didn't come alone to the station, getting the file required help. That led to point two, that she needed help with the computer to find the file, getting it was outside her usual experience. Three, the man on the radio was clearly threatening but cut off when Ethan tried to respond, either he wanted to keep the people who knew about the file low in number or he was a coward. Finally July was constantly snapping at any question about the file, yet didn't demand that Ethan leave, she was scared of bringing it in. Finally the fact that she was bringing anything to a man that scared her, he either had something she needed or the means to track her down. The obvious first question came up though.
"You don't even know what that file is do you?"

"Why would I get a file that I don't know what's on it? I may have problems understanding it, but that don't mean that I don't know what it is." July raised an eyebrow at the statment she just gave. This could be bad. It seemed that the man she was with was starting to catch onto what she was really doing, although he had no idea exactly what she needed the file for.
When she got to a slight light source from one of the working lights, July pulled out the file and began to read what she could about it. The name and age she understood and she knew which parts were the convictions. The convictions were lengthy, but she knew what they were. Finally, she got to the important stuff she needed and began to softly read them out loud, probably not enough for Ethan to hear without paying close attention. "Incarcera-ed, RPD...'ran-pred..." she couldn't read the rest of it nor did she understand the other word she had problems reading, but she was sure that the man she was looking for was somewhere else if he was still alive.
This was really starting to suck. All she had to do was find out where her target was and now she had even more work to find out if he was in the papers she got. If Icepick was still alive, as soon as he got free, he was going to get hell, not just from the leader of the gang, but from July herself.
After she put the paper away, she turned back to Ethan and said, "Since we're both done here, let's get the hell out of this joint. Ain't nothing else here for us."
(The thing July was reading said "Incarcerated: RPD...Transported..." I just took out a few letters to make it sound foreign to her. If you want to leave the RPD, feel free to pick a location, but if you want to stay in the RPD, we should probably move to somewhere other than the second floor since we're kinda in the sewers.)
