Elijha struggled for a moment against Malcom's grip, but then stopped. Pulling her head forward she slung it back hitting him hard in the face. When he let her go she shifted on her foot and back handed him into the side wall. She walked up to him picking up a knife off the side table. Wrapping her hand around his neck she lifted him off the ground. She brought the knife back to stab him, but stopped. She struggled against herself to keep from hurting her friend, but it felt the more she struggled the more she was losing.
--------
Rio was a bit lost as to what had happened, but when everything finally caught up to her she dashed across the room. Gripping the device that Malcom had pointed out she quickly hit the button. She watched Elijha for a moment, and the blood dripping from her nose. It was like she was still struggling, but after a couple of seconds she stopped moving at all, and then collapsed to the floor. Rio sat the remote down and ran to Malcom. She struggled for a moment as she tried to drag him away from Elijha.
"Daniel can you check on her if possible?" she asked looking back over to him to make sure he was okay. She leaned down over Malcom and patted his cheek to try and wake him up. "Come on. I know you've taken worse beatings thin this." Rio felt horrible as she looked around the group. Everyone was a fighter, and everyone could do something, but she felt like she just brought people down. Shaking her head she continued to try and wake up Malcom.

“Got it.” Daniel said, limping over to Elijha as he dropped to his knees and checked her for a pulse. She had one. It felt weak, but he wouldn’t doubt it, after that.
“Rio, we need to get them to the med bay. Go and find some gurneys or wheelchairs or something.” He said, settling down a bit more so he could sit. “And bring me one too.” He said, taking a few breaths as he laid back and tried to get the throbbing out of his head. Why did he have a headache? Oh ya, it was because he’d been slammed into a wall several times in the past hour. He hated when that happened.
“I’m going to make a call. We’re going to have some help on the way.” He said. When he got a phone, anyway. “Where’s a phone?” He asked.

"Stop hitting me. I'm fine, I just need to walk it off." Malcom struggled to stand for a second, then gave up and hit the floor again. "and by walk I mean lie down, cures everything."
He figured they wouldn't mind him resting for a while. Between Wolfe, Art, the old man and Elijahs control device they'd taken out all threats for a good while yet. Maybe Daniel had a good idea with phoning for someone, get a few more people around to handle the workload.
"Hey, while you're at it call my old orphanage, tell them I reconsidered that farming couple from Iowa, could go for some apple pie right about now."

Rio sat on the ground beside Malcom and let out a sigh of relief. She looked over to Daniel and Elijha as they both laid on the ground. Resting for a moment before she climbed to her feet. She made her way out of the room grabbing a couple of items, and throwing them on a cart. She then pushed it back into the room. "Were going to make this the sleeping quarters for the time being. I don't want to move you two." She brought out several pillows and blankets. Walking over to Malcom, placing a pillow under his head, and covered him up. She did the same to Elijha and Daniel. "I know the floor is a little hard, but right now I think it's the best for you two."
she leaned down and checked Elijha over before handing Daniel a phone. "Just becareful who you call. The line isn't secure, and right now neither of you are capable of taking on Art's men." She walked over to the lights and demed them a bit before retrieving two syringes of morphine. She gave Malcom and Daniel both a shot, and then turned her attention to wrapping Malcom's injuries. "Well now you two get you some rest. I'm going to try and get some of the rooms a bit more habitable so I can give you something a bit more better to sleep on," she said before leaving the room.

Daniel took the phone when it was handed to him and he thanked Rio, turning to look at Malcolm as he mentioned wanting to be adopted by farmers.
“Man, farmers adopt kids to work the fields. You’d be lucky to get a cup of water a day.” He said with a smirk on his face. He picked up the phone and dialed a number, hearing it ring a few times before someone picked up.
“Jax’s Pizza shop, Jax speaking.” A voice on the other end said.
“Hey Jax, I wanted to place an order for delivery.” Daniel said. The guy he was talking to, someone from the same gang that had brought them their shipment of guns to them in Nevada.
“What can I getcha?” The voice asked.
“I want the party special, extra peppers.” He said. Party special, that meant Daniel wanted a lot of people here. Peppers, that was the extra stuff they needed to maintain such a force. Weapons, ammo, other supplies, the works.
“How many people you feedin’?” Jax asked.
“About twenty.” Daniel answered, the amount of men he wanted here.
“All right. Gonne be about a note.” He said. A note was a hundred thousand dollars. A bill was ten thousand, and paper was a thousand. Anything under that was safe to mention over the phone. Pizza was expensive… “Any preference for delivery boy?” The voice asked. When the gang lent out their manpower, they made sure that one of their higher up members came with, to watch out for the boys and to keep them in line.
“Harry’s a good guy, and he’s always on time.” Daniel said. Jax didn’t say anything.
“Got it in the oven. We’ll be there in forty or less.” He said. Forty hours.
“Sounds good. See you soon.” Daniel said, hanging up the phone. He looked over toward the others and laid back.
“We have twenty men coming, all armed and ready for a long stay. We have armies after us, time to get one of our own.” He said, laying back and closing his eyes. He needed some sleep…

Rio sighed a bit as she sat down on the floor and leaned against the wall. It didn't take Malcom any time to fall asleep, and it didn't look like Elijha would be waking up any time soon. Sighing a bit she looked over at Daniel as he stared at the wall. "Get you some sleep. You've earned a good rest. I'll keep watch and let you know if anything happens." She smiled lightly as she watched him relax, and it wasn't to much longer before he had fallen asleep. She smiled lightly before getting back up. Stepping over to the computer she started working on the anti-virus for Daniel. His body didn't react badly to the virus like she did. Instead he actually bonded with it. She didn't know if he was going to want to be rid of it, but she was going to have it standing by just encase he did want to.

As three of the four slept through their injuries, while one slaved away over a microscope, hours passed. More than a day had passed, and Daniel had been asleep the whole time. His sleep was strangely devoid of dreams. He was seemingly too tired to dream. Several days devoid of sleep, and all of the s*** they had had to deal with. He was making up for lost time.
The sound of footsteps and doors opening within the complex made him wake up. He took a quick look around, drawing his pistol and aiming it at the door. Seemingly totally f**ked by now, he didn’t know what he would be able to do besides shoot a few people before he died.
The door opened, and the only thing that stopped Daniel from shooting was the big bush of hair that showed through the door. As he eyed the figure, it turned out to be a beard. A big man, the same giant who had come with the load of equipment that the gang had brought to the house in Nevada. Daniel let out a breath that he didn’t know he had been holding and let the gun lower.
“Found em!” Harry yelled down the hall, and several others came down. One of which was carrying a backpack.
The man with the backpack took a look at the people inside and then over to Rio.
“You the doc?” He asked, his voice thick with an accent. He opened his pack and showed her the med supplies he had with him. Standard to send a medic with this big a group of men.

Malcom woke up a minute after the crowd entered. He'd enjoyed his sleep a little too much and was sort of hoping that Daniel and Rio were doing the looking out this time around, if he took count he might even say it was their turn by now.
He watched the crew do their work, setting up equipment and moving in supplies. Despite his experience with the Surgeons troops back in africa, mercenary teams were still one of the most solid brother and sisterhoods you could find, sharing the understanding that you could survive longer to make more money if you kept your co workers friendly enough to watch out for you.
"Soooooo. I take it the pizza was purely metaphorical?"

Rio looked up almost shocked when heard the footsteps. Daniel was able to react much quicker than she expected, especially with him being asleep. Though for him to move this quick was a good sign. Sleep was what they all needed, and when Malcom woke up it made things even better. She pushed the thought away and looked to the medic who brought in the supplies. She slid off the stool and moved to bag as he opened it. "I'm more of a jack of trades. Self learned," she pointed out. "Your the one with more medical skills. That will help out a lot."
"Maybe so, but you've been dealing with this group for a while. So you know more about them then I do," he said his scottish accent thick when he spoke.
Rio nodded a bit as she looked around at the group that was entering the room. Looking down at Daniel she smiled a bit. "Well he's in charge here," she said with a grin. "So it seems that the two of you feel better. I'm a glad about that. Though I do suggest that you two take it easy." She looked over to Elijha as she still slept. "She should be waking up soon, but if Riko keeps using that device on her he can kill her." She looked back to Daniel. "So what now?"

“Yes, the pizza was metaphorical…” Daniel said with a smirk on his face. He looked up at a few of the mercenaries in the room as he heard others checking out the facility. They’d be set up soon enough.
The medic looked to Rio. “Just gimme a list of what’s wrong with them, I’ll take it from there.” He told her. He could see a few things, but he didn’t doubt that there were others that he couldn’t see.
Meanwhile, Daniel looked over at Elijha and then to Rio.
“Do you think there’s a way that we could take that thing out of her?” He asked. They had some medical professionals, one real one and one that had been doing a good job so far, and a lab with medical equipment. Maybe they could do it.

Malcom gave the mercenaries moving around a quick set of directions around the areas that they'd been in so far, warnings on the locations and how to defuse the traps he'd set earlier and instructions to hold their noses in the tank room in case the blasted remains of the creature there had started to stink up the place. Afterwards he listened in on the talk about Elijah.
"If that's an option, make sure it's done here."
Malcom pointed out on a wall map of the complex, a small room at the end of a row of operating rooms. This one had various extra labels and thicker walls on the blueprints though.
"Lead lined, no wireless signals in or out whilst the door is closed and inside the walls they have a layer of liquid shock absorber to keep the place stable in case of any vibrations. You could keep a jenga tower stable through the apocalypse in that place. Plus the lead will stop anyone setting her off whilst the examinations are going on. Only contact is through a terminal that screens everything sent to it, or this signal bulb. Same thing they use to alert psycholigists without disturbing a patient session."

Rio looked around the room and then down to Elijha. "That room would work, but there is one problem," she said as she looked toward the medic. "If we don't know exactly where the transmitter is in the brain we could kill her while trying to fish for it," she pointed out. Elijha stirred slightly as she rolled onto her side. She opened her eyes for a moment and then closed them. Her head was killing her, and the thought of what she did didn't help her either. She curled up slightly where she laid, and continued to hold her eyes shut tightly.
"Elijha," Rio said lightly as she slid off her stool. "I got a serious question for you."
"What?"
"Do you know where your father placed the chip in your head. You know . . . the one that causes you so much pain in the end," she said lightly.
Elijha laughed a bit before she sat up and looked at Rio. "When I was concious I was locked away in a room. When I wasn't I don't know what they did to me. All I know is that when my father found me again my life turned to hell," she pointed out as she looked away. "I don't know what all he did, and I didn't even know about this until I attacked you guys that one day."
"I see," she said standing up. "We need to get an MRI set up in one of the labs. There isn't one here. Not to mention I would like to know exactly what's up with her."
"Your . . . your going to turn me into another lab rat," Elijha mumbled under her breath as she pulled her knees to her chest.
Rio sighed as she walked over and sat down beside her. She wrapped her up in her arms and hugged her tight. "Not at all. I just want to know what all the ass hat done to you. I want to know if there is anything we can do to make you feel better, and stop all this pain," she pointed out.

“Bring some guys.” Daniel said, standing up with some difficulty. He could walk without crutches now, but he wasn’t healed up all the way. He staggered a bit as he made his way toward the door.
“We need to find an MRI machine. There should be one around here somewhere.” He said, directing men to the surrounding area and medical labs. He hoped there was one somewhere… But, in a pinch, he was pretty sure an x-ray would work in its place. He hoped so, anyway. If it didn’t, they’d be well and truly screwed with no MRI…
“You ok Dan?” Harry asked as he walked with Daniel.
“Never better.” Daniel said, his limp very pronounced.
“You look like s***.” Harry said.
“And you look like a fairy princess. We can’t all be as pretty as you.” Daniel said jokingly, looking at the rather large man with a long bushy beard.
“Jealousy doesn’t fit you.” He said with a smirk.
“Shut up.” Daniel said, stopping to lean on the wall when a bad pain spiked up his knee. He held back a groan and walked on, stopping when he heard someone yell from behind him.
“Found it!” The voice yelled. Sighing with annoyance at having to go back the way he had come and double the distance, Daniel turned and started limping back.
“Found it.” He repeated as he crossed the doorway to the room that the others were in.

Whilst Daniel and Rio planned the examination, Malcom got to work organising an overhauling of the bunker and cabin with the other mercenaries. They'd bought a lot of their own equipment and were eager to get to work when Malcom discussed with them his plan to start up a volunteer hospital and gain a government grant. Plenty of conversations were already going on about how they could justify new equipment or weapons they couldn't afford before and moving in an air hockey table.
The cabin was cleaned out of broken furniture from Wolfe rampaging through it, plans were made to make it a bit more homely for downtime usage, whilst covering up the bunker entrance a bit better.
The older labs had quite the amount of broken or outdated items. These were salvaged for spare parts and the crew started moving in their own belongings to make a rudimentary mess hall and barracks.
Finally in the tank room, Malcom and the others sat around thinking long and hard what to do with it after cleaning it out.
"Okay, so we got a huge chamber that can hold a good volume. No point in storage, we got plenty of that and it'd be inconvenient getting it out again." They passed a whiskey bottle around taking occasional swigs, when the bottle got to Malcom he paused for a moment looking between it and the tank.
".............gentlemen, I think we've got the makings of the best still ever."

Rio followed Daniel down the hall to where the MRI machine was located at. "Good," she said as she walked into the room to examine the machine. "Still looks in good condition," she mumbled under her breath. She assessed the machine from head to toe, and then turned and made her way into the computer room for it. "Wow this equipment looks old," she called out. Walking over she went to turn on the equipment. There was a loud pop, and then the circet board started sparking before the entire facility went pitch black. "I didn't do it," she called out as she held her hands up in the darkness. She moved to make her way out of the room, but instead hit the desk. "Ow. Need light please."
