Through the screaming pain she could hear Sin's returning footsteps, and then it was a weight lifted off of her. Through hazy eyes she looked up to see Sin standing over her guarding her form the undead. Though she quickly watched as Sin quickly fell as well. Her body seemed to give her moments of reprieve, and then quickly take it away. With her sword now in reach she actually used it to stand up, and at that moment driving her elbow into the face of an undead that ran up behind her. Shifting on her foot her blade made quick work of the neck and it's fragile bone. Pain quickly coursed through her right side starting at the neck.
Her hand reached to grab the bleeding wound. She switched hands she brought her sword around cutting the arm off of one of the undead. She dropped the sword pulling out both of her guns she opened fired on the undead hovering over Sin. She quickly moved to her side and helped her to her feet while aiming the gun at the walkers. Emptying the rest of the clips into the walkers she holstered the guns before picking up her sword.
Flinching slightly her hand drifting to her neck again. "W- we need to move." She motioned for Sin to take through the woods, and not the path they were on. "Through the woods. It'll trip them up." This time she lead Sin through the woods. As they moves she paid more attention to her footing this time from time to time hearing the undead tripping over their own paths, and the sound of running water coming from ahead.
It was perfect timing because she knew neither of them had anything to drink for quite some time, and the lack of water in the body would take a tole on it's healing and functions. But making it to the water would be short lived as a sharp pain coursed through her body. She cried out before stumbling into a tree. She clutched her side in pain and looked a head through hazy eyes. They were only few feet from the river, and she tried to push herself finding that it was becoming impossible.
She couldn't wait no longer. With her adrenalin running the virus coursed through her body even faster. Her sword fell from her hands as she slid down the tree to lean against it. Her hands fumbled through her coat trying to find the pouch that contained the vial and searing. Sweat poring from her face as her body seemed to tremble as she pulled the pouch from it's pocket. She stifled a cry letting the pouch fall from her hand as she gripped her side.
She bit her lip leaning her head back against the tree. The anti virus forgotten because her body was shaking to much and she knew she couldn't draw the virus up. Now she couldn't help but feel that she let the Lord down. Here he had given her what she had been asking for, and she couldn't even make it back to the camp. The Black Crusader that she always wanted was standing here, but she couldn't keep her because she knew the path that she would have to take. She couldn't help but laugh through the pain at the thought of failing twice in one day. First failing her mission . . . failing the counsel, and now failing to keep her Crusader . . . failing God.

Sin was dazed, her forehead smacking against an exposed route causing a brilliant flash of light to erupt in her head followed by a sharp pain as the weight fell on top of her-already weighed down by her own armor pushed out what breath she had left as she felt her mace leave her hand. It was to much for her already battered body, the sleep now a distant memory as her body finally gave out from all the stress and abuse she had put it through as she felt the hands fo the unclean scrabbling at her armor, its thickness preventing them from tearing it from her body, but it would only be a matter of time before they found her exposed flesh. Yet, it wasn't her impending end that she thought about rather it was the chance she gave Dominique with the last ounce of her strength, as a Crusader she fulfilled her sacred duty of protecting a Templar and she believed for that she had made up for what ever failure had taken Simon from her.
Despite the knowledge that she herself would be forbidden from entering that land Simon talked about, she felt this was a good place to find her final rest as she closed her eyes-yet deep within her that resolve that had pushed her for so long still kindled and even as she thought her body rebelled against the weight pressing on top of her, refusing to be denied the right to achieve what her soul sought.
She was considerably startled when the weight was lifted from her back and felt hands pulling to her feet, through blurred vision she saw Dominique standing, the worlds to follow and her muted nod as the two dashed away from the unclean. Sin fighting not to drag Dominique behind as her body continued to complain, her breath coming rapidly but somehow she found within herself that same pit of resolve as they stumbled through the forest. In time the sounds of rushing water came faintly through the dulling pounding that seemed to have drowned out everything else, as her blood hammered through her veins when the two finally came to a stop a few feet from a moving river. The fresh scent of the water in the air somewhat reviving Sin as the two collapsed near a tree, Sin standing for a moment longer than Dominique before she fell against the tree, her armored shoulder scraping bark off the tree as she slide down beside Dominique.
Dimly aware of Dominique scrabbling with a pouch before falling against the tree as the pouch itself fell near Sin's hand. For a moment Sin stared down at the pouch, her hair soaked with sweat framed her face and laid plastered against her black armor as she shifted her head to stare towards Dominique. Her body acting on its own, a dim memory of an order as her hand reached out for a moment for Dominique's sword before it froze. Fingers twitching as if the will behind the hand fought with itself before the hand fell to the pouch-its soft fabric catching her attention.
Twisting her body around so her back was against the tree, on the other side of Dominique she used what strength she had to bring the pouch upon her lap. Her other hand reaching over to help in untying the string as she opened the pouch before reaching in to pull out a vial of fluid, her eyes staring at the strange liquid as the moonlight made the fluid sparkle.
Letting her hand with the vial drop to her side, yet somehow making sure it didn't shatter as she looked up towards the moon, the sound of the river soothing her as she thought of the vial and Dominique and how the vial had a plunger and a long plastic cap. The realization and a memory hit her as she stared up at the moon, its unforgiving face beaming down at her as she reached out with her other hand, her strength failing her as she grabbed hold of Dominique's hair as she pulled the woman till her head fell upon her lap, Sin letting out a small gasp of protest as one of her many wounds twinged as she brought up her other hand still holding the vial.
Moving the end with the plastic cap to her mouth, her teeth gentle as she pulled the cap off the needle before plunging the needle into Dominique's neck, memories of doctors plunging a needle into the necks of convulsing children filling her mind as she pressed the plunger. Pulling the needle out she dropped the vial, the sound of it smashing upon rock and breaking drowned out by the rushing water as she absently placed her hand upon Dominique's head, her fingers resting within her hair as her other hand rested upon Dominique's shoulder.
Through it all she continued to stare up at the moon, too tired to move and wondering why such a memory came to her as she listened to the rushing water.

All she could think of was failure as the burning began to grow she knew she was dying. All she could do was wait for the blade for the Crusader to end her life. She knew well enough that even for a Templar the orders still stood. If one was to become infected, and the anti virus couldn't be given that it was best for them to die as a human than die as a monster. Except the stabbing pain she expected to feel wasn't there it was a tiny prick, and yet the screaming pain she thought she would feel as her life would leaver her wasn't there either.
In fact her body seemed to relax and the burning sensation seemed to fade with a cool sensation. She struggled for a moment finally forcing her eyes to open. The haziness was still there and the pain was still there, but not like before. It took her a moment to realize that she was laying on the ground her head propped on Sin's lap. She was still alive, and yet she knew that she shouldn't have been. Sin was different . . . Sin wasn't like the others. Her eyes caught a glimpse of something in the forest . . . something red . . . someone that shouldn't have been here. She fought to get up but her body wouldn't move. Only darkness took her as she passed out.
Stepping out of the shadows dressed not in the colors of a normal Templar, but carrying the symbol of the Templar. He stood for a moment his hand resting on the sword that every Templar carried one of the main distinguishing objects on their body. His soft blue eyes looking down at the two before he turned to look at Sin. "I have heard of you," he voice softly spoke almost like he didn't want to wake Dominique. "She is lucky to have you by her side this night." Walking over slowly as not to startle the Crusader knowing well enough they had been told about the group of Templars that have broken from the main force.
He smiled lightly at the look she gave him her hand resting on Dominique's sword. "Do not worry Sin. I am here to help." He looked down at Dominique before kneeling. "It seems that the two of you are in need. You are not to far from your camp, but for now you must rest." Removing a small bag from his side he removed bandages from the bag pressing them to Dominique's bleeding neck. Wrapping it so the bleeding would stop. He pulled out another syringe with a white look to it. "It's a pain killer and another dose of the anti virus. As quick as it has moved through her system it wont hurt to be on the safe side." He injected it through the bandages and into the wound itself. Tossing the items aside he stood up.
"Give this to her," he said as he handed the red feather to Sin. "Do not give it to her until she if fully back up on her feet, and do not mention me until she is well enough. An do not worry about the unclean. They have been dealt with, and your path has been cleared to your camp. My gift." He turned to head into the woods. "You haven't seen a Templar flip out until you mention to her the man in red. Take care of that one . . . she's a hand full." With that he disappeared into the darkened trees.

Sin was still too daze to really think of her own actions, her body reacting by itself with what strength its possessed when she laid her hand upon Dominique's sword when the man approached. Her light blue eyes focusing enough so she could see his uniform and for a brief memory of how a Templar betrayed the order and left with a full platoon of red armored crusaders-something many within the Templar's found baffling as they talked while moving among the Crusaders. She listened to the man, and even though her body did flinch when he stabbed Dominique's neck with the needle, it was the only action her bruised body could muster as the man stepped back.
As the man talked, Sin was secretly gathering her strength, though she disobeyed and order it was one she felt was the right step towards earning the right to see Simon again by sparing and saving Dominique. The man on the other hand was a clear enemy of hers, and she would not show the same act towards him as her hand strengthened her grip upon Dominique's sword. He wiping out the rest of the unclean just made her objective easier in getting Dominique to safety but it would not spare him-no he was unclean when he betrayed the order and thus he must be purged from the world to make it pure again.
Yet, as she was about to draw Dominique's sword when the man drew near again she was startled when Dominique's weight shifted ever so slightly preventing her from clearing the sheath without harming Dominique and that was one thing she refused to commit as the man pressed a red feather into her free hand, its softness startling her as she listened to the man explaining the importance of the feather before melting into the darkness leaving the two alone by the gurgling river.
Left alone for now, her hand clutching the feather as she looked up its red pinions, once again her mind lurched into a decisively un-Crusader thoughts as she wondered about the man's connection with Dominique before letting the feather go as it drifted lazily into the air before falling upon the swiftly moving river. Her eyes tracking the red feather as it disappeared as it was dragged to an unknown location. She knew that for now it was better to let the matter drop, pragmatically knowing that Dominique needed to focus on surviving as Sin resumed her watching over as the Lady Templar slept, her hand never straying from the sword.

Dominique shifted finding that her body didn't hurt like before. It didn't hurt anywhere near like it did before. Her hand drifted to her neck finding the bandage. Her mind tried to wrap around the fact that they didn't have the supplies to wrap her neck, but it seemed that her mind also didn't want to grasp the situation. Taking a moment she finally forced herself to sit up. Looking around the woods she found it odd that the undead were not on them. Her blood should have drawn them near. Things weren't adding up, but her mind still didn't want to wrap around everything.
The one thing that caught her attention was the water. She looked over to the river before everything came back to her. At least almost everything. She remembered the pain and the fact that she was dying, and then she was here alive and moving. But it shouldn't have been that way. She should have been dead. Sin should have killed her. She looked at Sin who looked exhausted, and pushed to her own limits. This Crusader was different . . . she was special . . . she had the making of a great leader. The ability to know when to take a life and then to spare that life. She smiled tiredly.
"You spared my life . . . and saved it. I owe you my life, Sin," she said lightly. Using the tree she helped herself to her feet gasping slightly as a pain shot through her shoulder, but it wasn't the pain from the virus but the bite on her neck. She looked around before looking down at Sin. "How fare are we from your camp. I really don't think either one of us can stay out here much longer . . . not in the condition we are in." She slowly and stiffly moved toward the river her body fighting her movements almost like it was ordering her back to bed.
Shaking that thought aside she knelt at the river cupping her hands. Taking in the water she sipped it carefully. The cool spring water feeling good in her mouth and soothing her dry throat and lips. There was one thing she loved about the mountains with this day and age not much water was pure anymore, but within the mountains the rocks, moss, and tree roots kept the water pure and clean regardless of what fell in them or touched them. She splashed some water on her face feeling realizing just how hot her face was. She signed a bit before turning to look at Sin.

Her body ached, her mind felt dull and listless as she remained watching Dominique as she slept through the worse of it till the contents of the vial's that were given her did their work. Even then she slept soundly as Sin looked up towards the moon. Its light bathing her in its glare given her light blonde hair an almost silver sheen to it as she listened to the gentle lap of the river beside them. If she wasn't trained as a Crusader, nor gained the endurance from her draconian training Sin would have longed passed out and probably have been out for a long time from the night she had gone through, for a moment her eyes drifted to the sleeping woman. Emotions were harshly stamped out in her upbringing but she still felt a twinge thinking of what a Templar's life would have been like, only knowing the difference from Simon who taught her many things and yet left so many things muddled at the same time, thoughts and ideas that warred with her upbringing and what she should think.
Shaking her head, her hair dancing along her black armor as she once more gazed up at the moon and stars, remember a time long past of when she felt something strange when she looked up at those stars.
Some time passed before Dominique awoke, she getting up to move about as Sin watched her body unable to muster the strength to get up just yet as she watched Dominique move about, for a brief moment as her eyes strayed to the river from which Dominique might drank from she thought of telling her about the man and the red feather before tossing the thought aside like she did with the gun back at the sawmill-it useless in their current situation as she turned her attention back to Dominique.
Strangely she felt a rush of heat to her face as she looked down to stare at her hands clasped in her lap, not seeing Dominique flinch in pain or face as she answers softly, "I was fulfilling my duties as a Crusaders, a shield for the Templar in their defense, and a sword to smite their enemies.", it was a litany all Crusaders were taught at a young age-her gaze still focusing on her clasped hands. For a moment Sin remained like that as she listened to Dominique move about before hearing her question of how far the camp was from the river.
"The staging area shouldn't be more than a mile from this river due east...", for a moment she shuddered when she realized this was the same river in which she fell into earlier this night, remembering that feeling when for a moment she felt she might...it wasn't a thought she wanted completed as she finished replying, a very faint tremble in her voice as the after effects of the memory still lingered, "..it shouldn't be more than a half an hour from here, and we should be able to rest enough to recover our strength without fear of being attacked if the defenses have not been removed by my squad when they were redeployed towards the city.", falling silent again as she remained resting against the tree, though her eyes gazed towards the water.

More rest would be nice, but she knew she couldn't. If she sat back down she knew she would fall back asleep. Regardless of how clear it was out there was still a danger out there. She looked down at Sin where she sat, and couldn't help but think about her training. She could remember the extensive schooling she had went through. Every Templar was sent through a special schooling from the point they could walk, but being her father's daughter he put more on her. She was put through more than a normal Templar, but even then she couldn't even imagine what a Crusader had to go through to get to this point.
She smiled lightly, but she knew that she would have to fight for Sin. Fight to keep her. She knew that her father would be against it, and being the head of the counsel he had a great pull. A pull that could get Sin taken away from her. She wasn't going to allow it. She was going to bring the pint that every time she went out with a Red Crusader they would lose their life. They seemed to not have the skill set as the others. They were almost a sacrifice group, and one that she didn't care to much for. She shook her head and looked out at the river. Sacrificing human life wasn't one she cared for, but it was one that the Templars and Crusaders practiced a lot.
How could she deny that. They keep saying its for the glory of the Lord. Sacrifice the adults and save the children because the adults couldn't be persuaded to change their mind or to help in the fight to bring the world back. But who were they to kill those who believed differently than they did especially know. She sighed shaking her head again gasping slightly at the pain in her neck. Her hand drifting to her neck again, and this time remembering a shadowy figure she seen through the haze of her pain. A figure in red. Her hand gripping her the bandage tightly at the thought. A sharp pain stepping at her neck causing her to yelp slightley.
"We need to move if your capable of it. The faster were out of these woods the better." She walked back to the river trying to get her barrings on the direction of the camp. "Serga," she mumbled under her breath as she looked out across the river. A man in red she once trusted until he betrayed her at the time she needed him the most.

Nodding her head, Sin with some effort managed to lift her armored bulk to her feet, every muscle protesting the effort but she managed to get to her feet even though for several moments she had to rely on the tree for support. Though she thought herself failing her training, Sin would have no way of ever knowing that doing what she was doing right now was considered near heroic proportions compared to a normal person's upbringing as she fell into step with Dominique. They walked in silence for a portion of the journey, the only world spoken was a faint Sarge, Sin remaining quiet as was her role now that they were nearing their goal.
Though as they passed several landmarks that were familiar, Sin came to dwell upon her failure at the base that had prompt her separation from her squad and there bye signified her greatest failure. Knowing that Crusaders were punished severely when they failed in something, memories of broken arms and beating from her days of youth which was only softened by Simon's light. She was accepting of what faced her but for some reason she wished Dominique would not be around to see her punished, it was a strange thought considering it could very well be Dominique who punished her since there was no set Templar who meted out punishments. Above all else Dominique was a witness to many of her failings this night and would be justified in handing out Sin's punishment for she had failed several times to prevent her charge's wounds. So it was with some trepidation that she continued towards the staging area and in time the two made it to the small shed.
Not realizing that its outward's appearance disabused people from entering it Sin opened up the door before reaching down to yank open a trap door, her arm muscles sending sharp pains up through her system as she started to descend using the ladder. For a few moments she descended into the darkness before reaching the bottom. For a moment she was disoriented as she searched the cement wall before finding the switch which flooded the square cement room that had several lockers, two bunks and a couple of boxes sitting alongside the all.
Looking up to see Dominique descending the ladder, Sin entered the room which was large enough for four people at a time to stand and move around, if a bit tight so it was big enough for two people to move around relatively easy as Sin walked up towards one the lockers. A sword that was as long as Sin was tall leaned against the cement wall, its blade notched in many places with dark stains covering the blade from blade to the blood channel. Reaching out she let one of her fingers trace the blade, a feeling that felt pleasant knowing Pride had made it to the staging area having left his battered weapon to take up a new one. Meaning the odds were favorable that the rest of the squad completed the mission as Sin moved away from the sword leaning against the wall to look into the boxes before pulling out a small meal package and a bottle of water before making her way to collapse upon the one of the bunks.
For a moment letting the meal package fall to the ground as she finally yet her body rest.

Moving down the ladder Dominique was quite surprised at the area she was in. She had followed Sin to a locker room her eyes falling on the sword that laid against the wall. A weapon almost a foot taller than Sin. She could only imagine the person capable of wielding such a weapon. An then the weight that followed the weapon considering how much Sin's weapon weighed. It was then that it dawned on her that she no longer carried the weapon. Looking back to the ladder she tried to remember the area that her weapon was lost, and it was then that she realized it was because she faltered.
Her lack of skill to keep up with the Crusader caused her to fall into trouble, and in turn forced Sin to come back to her rescue. An in that time she lost her weapon. Sighing a bit she shook her head knowing well enough it was to far back for her to even go after it. She looked up at Sin as she got her something to eat before sitting down on one of the beds. She thought of the food for a moment, but found that she didn't have the appetite she should have for now.
In fact she could feel her body starting to ache the longer she stood around. Letting out a sigh she walked into the other room where Sin was laying down finding her fast asleep. She smiled a bit knowing that she could let Sin sleep without worrying about any dangers. She looked around the barren room before moving to another bed beside Sin. She removed the sheath of her sword from her belt and laid it on the bed before sitting down. She always slept with her sword regardless of the safety. She looked down at Sin smiling again. For her to keep her Angel she was going to have to fight, and it was a fight she was determined to win.
For now she was feeling drained even more. She laid down on the bed, but her body didn't relax it almost screamed in pain. Still through the pain she felt her eyes growing heavy. She fought to stay awake for a moment before drifting to sleep. Her mind wondering to her failures and her future task. She knew with Sin she would be able to prove herself with her father, but it would be a task just to keep her.

Darkness presses around her, surrounding her as she curled into a ball floating within the darkness. Voices mumbling, almost right into her ear and yet she understood not a word as she reaches up to clasp her hands against her ears which only made the voices louder, demanding something of her that she had no idea what it was. She obeys without question, she performs her actions without dismay, she works harder than anyone else-a whispered litany to herself as she begins losing herself to the voices, perhaps that would be best to lose herself in those voices, yet them have what they want though she had no idea what it was as her hands lift ever so slightly. When a light bursts from the darkness, it doesn't destroy the dark but it makes a path that leads to Sin as its warmth envelopes her and she finds...
Opening her eyes, as always the dream forgotten as Sin for a moment longer lies upon the bed, and despite the aches reminding her that she had slept within her heavy armor Sin felt refreshed from the long sleep. Raising herself up on her elbows, she allowed her eyes to wonder-one to push the last grit of sleep out of them and two to survey her surroundings. Eventually her gaze fell upon Dominique, the lady Templar still asleep with her sword near. Sin still had worries about when they reached the base, but they were small compared to the sense of accomplishment of her objective of at least ensuring Dominique would make it back alive as she sat up in bed. Feeling her joints crack as stiffened muscles attempted to loosen up as Sin forced herself to her feet, and though for a moment she tottered upon weak legs she managed to remain standing as she reached out to steady herself upon the wall.
Though she was unable to stop the smile knowing her aches and pains now where of sore muscles and wounds that have for the most part healed. Taking a few unsteady steps forward, her body ungainly as her armor weighed her down; admittedly it would be sometime before she would be able to move easily within her armor as she bent down to pick up the discarded meal package. Her fingers nimbly breaking open the seal to reveal a several bars of protein as well as fruit. Still standing she ate one of the protein bars and a fruit one before placing the rest upon the bed as her hand reached out to pick up the water bottle, twisting the cap free with her teeth before spitting it out to let the water flow into her dry throat. Though it was beyond warm she felt it was the best drink she had in quite awhile, having denied herself till Dominique was safe as she drained the bottle before letting it fall from her hands.
Having finished her small meal, Sin once again found her eyes looking upon Dominique unknowingly to herself she smiled faintly before frowning as her eyes fell upon Dominique's sword, the realization that she lost her weapons causing her some distress before remembering where she was as she turned to head towards one of the lockers. Careful to make as little sound as possible, Sin opened the locker to reveal a small assortment of melee weapons from blunt to bladed. Discarding the blunt weapons, most were simple clubs or maces that were nothing but a metal ball Sin instead chose a single handed sword-taking its sheath and belt as well as she reached down to unclasp her mace's belt before putting on her new belt and sheath with the sword now resting gently upon her hip.
With one new weapon, Sin turned her attention towards another locker, opening that one to reveal several firearms-mostly just side arms but resting among them was her extra vector, a small feeling though intense filled her as she picked up the vector. With practiced ease she sighted the weapon, tested its balance and found it to her liking before holstering the weapon. Taking five spare clips for it as she closed the door. For a moment she debated on the third locker which contained an assortment of armor and clothing when she heard Dominique waking.
Turning around, her body already bowed towards Dominique, "Pleasant waking Lady Templar."

Dominique shifted on the bed her head trying to wrap around her location almost as if what had happened through the night was just a haze. It wasn't until Sin spoke that everything thing came back to her. She rolled over to look at Sin before sitting up her neck and shoulder screaming in protest. "My body doesn't think so," she said lightly as her hand drifted to her neck. She could feel the wetness of her bandage. Pulling her hand back she could see the blood that had soaked through the bandage. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of how close her life came to ending.
If it wasn't for Sin's ability to disobey her orders her life would have ended, but she knew better. Even with the anti-virus in her system from the first time it had been in her body for far to long for the vial she carried to even work. She looked up at Sin as she brought her a kit with medicine and bandages along with some food and a bottle of water. "Thank you." She set everything on the bed and worked on removing the bandage currently on her neck. She couldn't help but be amazed at how much blood had soaked through, but she did sleep with out changing it.
After being alone and working alone for so long or getting use to losing her Crusader she had to learn how to deal with her own wounds. So putting another bandage on her neck was rather easy compared to other wounds she had to deal with in the past. She reached for a vial of a white liquid, and she realized then why she was able to be here at this time. The vial she held in her hand was a mixture of painkillers and a higher concentration of the anti virus. She pushed the thought aside before looking up at Sin.
"What is this place?" she asked before setting the rest of the supplies back in the kit. She reached for the food and passed up the thought knowing she still wasn't hungry, but rather thirsty. "I've never seen a place like this before. I have an idea what it is, but why would they build a place like this so close to enemy territory. Let alone being so small," she asked before downing the entire bottle of water.

Falling to one knee, one arm resting upon her upraised knee Sin listened as Dominique spoke, her eyes gazing at the ground-in such a way Templars taught the Crusaders to display humbleness before them. Though before she could catch herself, Sin looked up in surprise towards Dominique when she voiced a question regarding the existence of such areas as this, to Sin such an idea that a Templar would ask such a question of one such as herself was a shock. Perhaps she is only but testing me, to see if my wounds prior have in some way effected me...yes, that is what a Templar would do to better ascertain...though..., Sin was puzzled far more than she was so it took her awhile to respond as her mind wrapped around several dozen thoughts.
Clearing in her throat, the sign of how muddled her thoughts were and yet her voice still held that slightly melodious tinge to it, "Forgive me Lady Templar if I have erred in my judgement over the past night, you seek to ascertain that I still maintain a rational mind asking me this question and so I shall provide the answer as my training dictates.", still kneeling in front of Dominique, her body's aches at keeping this position yet she maintained her posture, "Areas such as these are used as staging areas, an offshoot off of one of the many tunnels that connect a base for the use of Crusaders when going about on their missions. Or in case of long distance maneuvers a Templar will set up a small area such as this within enemy territory to aid Crusaders currently upon the field. This serves two functions the first a supply depot when Crusaders must go from one objective to another, or to deposit information that would be of interest to the Templars. The second is a place of safety when a Crusaders becomes separated from their squad or force in order to rearm if needed or wait till the arrival of another force.", falling silent for a moment Sin once again came upon her greatest failure of judgement the past night.
When she spoke next, her voice was devoid of that musical quality, the words a statement of a fact, "When I became separated from my squad I was in route to this location when you came upon me in the woods. Because of the wounds I sustained my judgement became clouded and my judgement nearly cause the Lady Templar her life and I must atone for that lack of judgement during a critical moment.", drawing her new sword, strangely it felt right in her hand as she placed the sword upon the ground in front of Dominique.
Keeping her head lowered, her golden hair falling into waves as they hid her face, the strands dancing upon the black of her armor, "I await your punishment Templar for failing, this question of yours revealed my lack of judgement during a critical moment which would have costed your life.", her eyes hidden by her hair, Sin stared intently at her sword lying upon the ground, and though her face was expressionless, within she trembled knowing she failed and the knowledge of past punishments causing her body for just a second to tremble as she closed her eyes.

Dominique's mind wondered about the place as Sin described it to her. Being an outpost that meant they weren't to far away from a main camp or facility. That was good at least then she could get a hold of the counsel and inform them about Sin's survival and her own request. She was brought back from her thoughts when she heard Sin pull her sword out of her sheath. She looked down at Sin now realizing all of what was going on. Sin asking for her punishment, and waiting patiently for it. She couldn't help but frown at another realization of something she didn't care for with the Templars.
Templars were always raised to think they were better than everyone else even the Crusaders. When a Crusader had done wrong either their life was lost or they received a pain staking punishment. 'Punishment' as her father called it when she brought it to his attention . . . not torture. When she had asked him what the difference was she would only receive a slap and be ordered to stop asking. He would never tell her the difference, and as she grew older she knew there was no difference. Crusaders were the slaves to the Templars. She never punished any of her Crusaders granted none of them lived to long, and she was saddened by that thought.
She stood up finding that her body was able to move a bit better than before. "Pick up your sword," she said as she walked past Sin. "I do not punish someone who doesn't deserve it, and I do not believe it is right the way the other Templars punish you and the others." She walked over to where Sin had grabbed the water. She took one and quickly downed the continence again before turning to look at Sin. "You are human . . . equal to the rest of us, and you do not need to be treated as a servant. So that being please to not kneel before me or when you speak to me. Talk to me on equal terms."
When Sin didn't move she sighed before walking over. She knelt down beside Sin and took the sword in hand. She then held the hilt out to Sin and smiled lightly. "You made no mistake in the field. You made no mistake along the way. You did what you were capable of doing considering the shape you were in. My health isn't as important as it is getting you back to the others. A single Templar is nothing compared to how man of us just one Crusader can replace." She put her hand on Sin's shoulder as she still held the sword out to her. "An besides I am still alive and moving. The journey will always be the hard part, but it's the outcome that maters."

Lowering her head, Sin held her words as Dominique spoke and for just a moment she thought of Simon and a similar event in her past when he told her that she was human as much as any Templar...the day before he was taken away from her. For a moment she let the warmth of those words warm her, it was a pleasant feeling and one she felt back then as well but in the end she knew that such feelings were not for her, for Simon was taken away from her and she feared Dominique would vanish as well-something she dreaded. She carries that same warm light..like Simon, I am fortunate that I can serve if only a little and for a short time someone who holds that light, her hair hiding her face from view as Dominique knelt before her with her sword held out for her to take it once again, and like her thought she smiled faintly, before vanishing. She lost Simon for believing in those words and the hard truth was she wasn't equal to stand among the Templars, nor was her life worth one of theirs for it was their will that she would give her life for their cause, it was a duty for she was only an implement of their will, and that was the only due she should ever have till death finally claimed her.
Keeping her head lowered, keenly aware of Dominique's hand placed upon her shoulder as she spoke, "Your words are too kind Lady Templar, and though I exist simply to believe your words I know that I cannot be or can be what you are.', taking her sword from Dominique, Sin planted the blade point first into the cement, letting her forehead rest upon the hilt as her handed held the hilt, "I exist only to serve your will, for I am an implement of divine fury given form and motivated by ones whose will become mine own. An empty vessel, an unworthy object, a base object. Unworthy to be more and worthy to be nothing, have no desire of our own, desire nothing for it would deny the will of those who are above us, who give us meaning...purpose.", finishing the litany that have been drilled into her from the moment she grew old enough to realize her place in the world, and that was below those whose will became her own, Sin got smoothly to her feet as she sheathed her blade upon her hip.
For a moment, her pale blue eyes looked towards Dominique before turning away, "Your kindness shames me, for I am undeserving of such an act...", for a moment Sin fell silent, before turning to Dominique, "Lady Templar, your very ability to speak your mind and put me upon the same level as yourself proves that you are superior, even though one such as I do not deserve such consideration. It was why we Crusaders would give our lives to defend the Templars for we would be poor replacements for ones who would help the world. If we erred and cost a Templar their life than the world would be less without that Templar while we remained a base weapon only fit to be directed at a Templar's enemy.", turning away from Dominique, filled with unease for she spoke up against a Templar but knowing she must continue unless Dominique would vanish as well.
Lifting her eyes to gaze up at the cement ceiling, her hair falling down upon her black armored in a pale gold waterfall, "I exist only to purge this world of the unclean, and when this world has become purged I shall have outlived my usefulness for I am unclean and cannot share a clean world with ones such as yourself. Only thanking that I can help clean this world is the only desire I need, it is my purpose and duty and one I will shoulder till the time I am no longer needed.", for awhile Sin remained silent before twisting her body to look towards Dominique, for a moment she felt conflicted about what she was going to say next before her face smoothed.
"You remind me of my mentor Simon, he also showed me kindness, an undeserving creature like me and for sometime I thought and believed in his words....but...", lowering her head, and once again she felt that same wetness spring to her eye, "...I failed him, I uttered what I shouldn't have and failed...and he was taken from me for my failure in understanding my role, my duty...and believing myself an equal.", lifting her gaze to stare at Dominique, her eyes fiercely determined, "I will not fail again and earn the right to have Simon returned to me so he can...he can...he can...", unable to continue, the realization that what she just said destroyed the credence of her speech before, but the words just tumbled out at their own accord. Again she felt her world tremble as she turned away from Dominique, her golden hair fanning out at her sudden movement as she tried to gain some measure of control.
Wrapping her arms around herself, again her failures compounded even more, what flaw made her so...why couldn't she be like Pride and Lust, they would not have uttered such a blasphemy as she had just moments ago. Bowing her head, she still had a long ways to go before she earned the right to be mentored by Simon again, and she would purge herself of these...flaws. Straightening her head, in a way this was a good thing for now Dominique would understand how flawed she was as a Crusader...and perhaps help her.
Turning around, her face impassive, "Forgive me Lady Templar, I spoke out of turn...it won't happen again."

She shook her head. “No do not worry about it.” Dominique couldn’t understand why someone could be so loyal to those who treated them so horribly. She sighed a bit knowing that she wasn’t going to win this battle, at least for now. She was going to have to work with Sin on the matter later. Though she knew that if she did have a breakthrough with her that other Templars would object. She shook the thought out of her head and would deal with it when the time came. When Sin was hers she knew how she was going to retrain her. It would just be simple ‘Don’t kneel,’ or ‘ Face me as an equal when we talk.’ Simple things.
She could remember the first time she seen a Crusader or the Crusader camps. Her father had taken her against her mother’s will. Nothing in her parents’ relationship was equal. Her father always dominated her mother, and as she grew older she knew that the only reason her mother stayed with him was because of her. Dominique could remember walking along the long plain hallways as her father showed her the training areas along with various other areas that the Crusaders had went under training for, but he never let her approach them. She could vaguely remember him mumbling to her about how their training wasn’t like the Templars, but how they were God’s gifts to the Templars to sacrifice if needed on the battle field in order to win the war. Then and now that thought still churned her stomach. An then she could remember the first time her father had hit her.
Her hand drifted to her cheek for a moment as she recalled her retaliation to her father in front of a group of Crusaders and Templars. The hit hard enough to knock her on the ground and leave a week long bruise. She had cried all the way home, and to her mother. She smiled weakly as her mother praised her for what she did. Telling her that no one is above another, but as she seen it since the Templars put people above other. She believed that the Crusaders were above the Templars, because they sacrificed so much more to fight this war while Templars just stood back giving orders. Her hand dropped from her cheek as she stared at the floor. Her eyes hardening as her hand gripped the hilt of her sword. Her wonderful mother’s words echoing through her head, before remembering the horrific scream. She shook her head to change the memory.
Allowing her mind to wrap around the name that Sin had brought up, ‘Simon.’ Except when she thought of the name it sounded familiar, and reminded her of her mother as well. She didn’t know why, but it almost seemed like her mind wanted to bring up a face to someone she didn’t know but seemed to know. She looked over to Sin before looking back at the ground. For a Crusader to think of someone as a parental figure they must have had a significant impact on that individual. An the way that Sin talked about Simon could only mean he was the one that she was trying to get back to.
Smiling a bit she stood up finding that her knees killed her on the floor. “You are very unique, Sin,” she spoke lightly as she looked around the room. “You are special. I can see it, and I like that about you.” Moving back to the water she took another bottle, and paused to look at it. “You remind me of a fallen Angel trying to find her place in this world.” She turned back to look at her. “To prove yourself to your father to gain your wings once more.” She looked back toward the bottle in her hand. “I know all too well what it is like to try and gain your father’s approval and never get it. Except you are trying to gain the approval to see him again.” When Sin didn’t say anything she nodded more toward herself than anything else.
“Then I’ll do this. I am in need of a new Crusader, and I want you. I am going to go to the counsel and inform them my request to have you as my Crusader. An then in between our missions I will help you look for your father.” Playing with the bottle of water for a moment before continuing. “Now if my father gets his say so and I do not get to have you as a partner granted I’ll be mad at him, but being the head of the counsel I can’t go against his word. Still I will help you in any way possible in finding your father.” She knew when she brought this up to the counsel that her father would immediately put his foot down and say no. An usually when it came to her the counsel would go with what her father voted. It wasn’t fare, and she wondered what he had actually told them for them to always vote against her request without giving it a single thought. She finally opened then bottle of water and quickly finished it off.
“I think it is about time we get back to the main camp if you are capable of moving. I’m going to let you lead the way again.” She laughed slightly before holding up her finger. “But remember this . . . I am shorter than you and have a shorter stride. So to every step you take it takes me two. Just keep that in mind.”
