Dominique couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief when she heard Leon’s voice. She looked up at him before as he told Sin what she wanted to say. She smiled lightly as she looked at Sin. She hadn’t thought about how to get Sin out of here, but she knew if none of them came back she would have found a way. She wasn’t going to leave her behind or let her go so easily. When Sloth helped her to her feet she cringed slightly. Her good arm wrapping around her shoulders as they moved toward the stairs. She looked back as Wrath picked up Sin. Leon lead the way as Wrath stepped in front of her. Dominique couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of Sin slowing them down. From the looks of it Wrath was moving fine where she was hindering Sloth’s movement because of her leg.
She looked up noticing Sin looking back at her. She gave her a tired smile before looking down at the ground. Her mind wrapping around the fact that her father went to such lengths to get rid of Sin. He wasn’t happy with her ever being happy. She could never understand why he wouldn’t let her be happy. She could remember a bear she had gotten from her mother for her 8th birthday. Such a soft and huggable toy that she would enjoy sleeping with, but her father took it from her and handed her a dagger. He told her no girl of his was going to be soft, since he didn’t have a son he would have to mold his daughter into the perfect soldier and that it would take more. Looking down at the ground as they move down the tunnel she fought back her memories knowing that nothing she could ever do would make him proud of her. He in fact hated her because she wasn’t a boy, and he had to take extra steps for her future.
Stifling a cry she reached into her pocket with her bad arm and pulled out both of the disks from the side room. She could see the images of the children that failed the first phase being hauled off into a single room. The fear running through their eyes as they seemed to know what was going to happen next. Shuttering as the room ignited into flames as the entire room burned. Templars didn’t burry bodies anymore; they believed that it took up too much room and too much time. That came around from to many of the Red armored Crusaders dying. So they gave up that practice all the way around. Though the Crusaders didn’t have an funeral, the Templars did and the Crusaders of the facility had to attend. It wasn’t right, but she had seen it to many times before. But that image was wrong in every way. Every single one was burned alive, and when the room was cleared a single person came in with a broom and swept it up like it was just dirt.
The first disk snapped in her hand regardless of the pain it caused to do so. She let the disk fall from her hand, and as she stepped over it she looked up as Sin looked at her through pain filled eyes. She smiled lightly as she struggled to snap the second disk. “It’s terrible,” she said lightly as she dropped the disk to the ground. “The disk were terribly damaged in the fight and destroyed,” she grinned before looking down at the ground. “The information on those disk do not need to be given to someone else in order to replicate what happened in that facility.” She let out a heavy sigh as she hung her head. “Things need to change. I just have to think how I can do that.” Watching the floor she felt a sharp pain course through her leg causing her to stagger. “Stop,” she mumbled under her breath as Sloth let her lean up against the wall. “Need to rest.” She seen the look that Leon had given her, but all she could do was chuckle. “I weak I know . . . you don’t have to say anything.”

Sin watched the breaking of the two disks, her eyes furrowed in thought towards Dominique's answer to the action as she let herself relax further in Wrath's hold, though soon Dominique called a stop so she could rest. Causing Sin to snap her head towards Dominique, the movement causing a sharp pain in her neck before subsiding to join with the other aches she had attained. Though she wished she could assist Dominique, or at least have Wrath carry someone who was far more important than she a single Crusader was, she had already caught Leon's look when he turned back to glare at Dominique before uttering, "Fine, let the Templar rest...like we don't anything better to do....", as he twisted around to lean against a wall, placing his rifle upon the wall as well before folding his arms across his chest.
Frowning faintly, Leon has changed...or was he always like that.., it was a brief thought, her time with Dominique having at least partially changed her perception of others if minutely as she looked up towards Wrath who had stopped and now stood still holding her. Though her voice was breathless she managed to get out, "You can put me down for now Wrath...", though he didn't say a word of complaint or even seemed effected carrying her weight armor and all, Wrath simply grunted before placing Sin gently upon one of the steps, only a few steps away Dominique rested.
Folding her hands in her lap, though mindful of putting the sword upon her lap first before she let her head rest against the cool cement of the wall behind her. Yet, she was still troubled by something Famine said, and though she was dazed at the time she wanted clarification from Dominique, with a deep breath she twisted her head, "Lady Templar...back there Famine said something about your father...was a mission objective of his to eliminate me...", with some effort she managed to grasp her sword in her hand, though it took some effort from her to lift it any further.
With the strain of holding the sword, and yet her voice still retained that melodious sound to it, "If my death would achieve an objective for you I will...I will...", it took her some effort to lift the sword even further so the point rested against her chest.
Yet, before Dominique could say anything, to object or agree, Wrath had already reached down and blocked the sword from Sin's fingers, she being to weak to stop him before Leon twisted his head to stare towards Sin, "Sad to say my mission takes priority and Wrath and Sloth are already under orders to ensure every one gets back...."everyone.", nodding his head towards Wrath, who with a deft flick of his wrist tossed the blade to Leon who sheathed it in a scabbard that till now didn't have a weapon in it, "Till we reached home base I will carry this weapon so no one gets any bright ideas of how important they are to people...", his eyes softening when he looked towards Sin and Dominique, one standing and the other sitting before turning away as Sloth came walking down the stairs.
"Leon...", and once again there was a faint tone to her voice that Sin couldn't place, though she didn't really think much about it as she clasped her hands together in her empty lap, still not knowing if her existence was that necessary.
"Ok folks in a few minutes will be on the move again, and I don't want no damn limp wristed Templar saying they need another rest till we reach homebase...got it folks.", with that he went with Sloth, their heads bent next to each other their voices hushed as they discussed something. .

Dominique was pleased when the Crusaders took action before she could even attempt to. She let out a sigh before she staggered down toward Sin. With a lot of painful effort she forced herself to kneel down before Sin. With her good hand she reached out to gently grasp her chin and raise her head to look at her. “Look at me as an equal Sin,” she said lightly. She smiled lightly as she absently brought her hand up to brush a strand of hair out of her face. “Do not ever think your life or anyone’s life is worth sacrificing. Your life is more important, and I would go to great lengths to protect it.” She looked down at the ground and sighed a bit. “But it is my fault that Famine tried so hard to take your life.” She closed her eyes as she silently cursed her father before looking up to see Leon looking at her. “I should have informed you sooner. My father tries to keep a tight hold on my life, and denies me anything that I want.”
She looked back at Sin and smiled lightly. “From the moment I first met you I wanted to have you as my Crusader . . . as my partner, and friend if you allow it. I could care less about what my father thinks.” She laughed a bit as she painfully stood back up, and leaned against the wall. “Sin you didn’t fail at anything, and if I have to order you I will. Stop thinking your failing. You have gone above and beyond what a Crusader should. You have not had the chance to fully rest from your previous wounds. In a way I’m glade Pride had knocked you out. If he didn’t, as I see you know, you would never relax enough to let your wounds heal from the last time.” She looked down at Sin. “I know we’ve only really known each other for a day or so, but we are partners in my eyes. Not Templar leading Crusader. You and I are equal.”
She looked at Leon. “Let’s go?” Leon glared at her and she couldn’t help but laugh. As Wrath carefully picked Sin up Sloth helped her the rest of the way. Considering how far it was from the main base she knew that this trip was going to be painful. An she was right as they made their way into the main tunnel. She looked up at the hallway and could only dread the walk they had. Her leg was already starting to scream, but she had to push the thought away. She looked down at the ground trying to focus on something else as they moved down the hall. She wanted to ignore the pain in her leg, but with each step she could feel the grinding bones and a stabbing pain coursing up her side. She fought back her tears trying to ignore the pain in her body.
With each step the pain was getting worse, and she couldn’t stand it. She had to lean on Sloth a bit more as she fought back her tears. She had never been hurt like this before which surprised her that she would even put herself in that much danger over someone. She looked up at Sin as Wrath carried her. She knew for her she would go to any lengths to keep her as her partner. Dropping her head she studied the floor as she tried to concentrate on something worse. It took a moment for her to realize her arm and shoulder had started bleeding again. The fact that she couldn’t feel the blood dripping down her arm worried her, but what had hinted to it was the fresh blood on her pant leg. She dared a glance back seeing the small trail.
Smiling weakly she shook her head feeling the room spin as she did. She looked down at the floor feeling her stomach churning trying to focus on the path a head. They must have been halfway by now. All she knew was that she had to hold out for the next half. Though the more they moved, and the further they moved the more she slowed down. She couldn’t tell if she was even moving anymore or if Sloth was dragging her. Dominique could feel her body give out as she collapsed, but her body didn’t completely hit the ground as Sloth tried to hold her up before lowering her to the ground. The world grew hazy as she could only curse herself. The feel of her blood as it soaked her shirt, but darkness took over her and nothing seemed to matter as she passed out.

Seeing Dominique collapse, her pulse racing in fear and dread knowing that Dominique's wounds were a result of her inability to defend her, Sin struggled within Wrath's embrace trying to reach Dominique. Though she struggled her body still failed her and Wrath's strength held her back as Leon called for a stop. Sloth already bending down to check Dominique's pulse before motioning with he hand, the gesture causing Sin to struggle even harder to reach Dominique. In time Sin became aware of the sounds of many booted feet approaching, a feeling of elation that help would be soon arriving as from around the corner approached a group of red armored crusaders and at their head.
Seeing the figure caused Sin to renew her struggling, and as she struggled she tried to reach for her weapon, knowing she couldn't use the sword but the vector she could use in her condition. As she clutched her Vector, Leon seeing her movement, "Sloth use the drug now before she ruins everything!", his young voice breaking as Sloth jumped from her crouch, her hand reaching down to her utility belt before pulling out a vial of fluid, a needle shining the in the light before plunging the needle into Sin's neck. With nearly a shriek as the drug pulsed into her system, the sudden shock causing her eyes to roll into the back of her head before she passed out from the overload the drug caused in her already weakened system.
With a faint shake of his head towards the scene, Serga walked up towards Leon his eyes going towards Dominique and Sin before motioning for two of his crusaders to attend to their wounds before turning his attention towards Leon, "Its a pity regular tranquilizers would not work on such crusaders like her, I hope she doesn't suffer much damage from the overload that forced her body to shutdown.", his eyes going towards Sin who now rested limply within Wrath's arms, before returning his attention to Leon, "My principal would be saddened at the lost of Sin...not to mention the impact it would have in our goals.", with that he went towards where Dominique lied, his crusaders already attending to her wounds and though they were many it appeared she just suffered from blood loss, "Though we are fortunate this occurred before I appeared as Sin might have been able to over power the drug long enough to cause us some grief.", straightening up he gave a brief command to his crusaders to stabilize Dominique before walking back towards Leon who was no accompanied by Sloth as Wrath handed Sin over to two other red armored crusaders before taking a seat him, drawing a back of cigs out of one of his pockets before lighting up.
Spitting, before shaking his head, "I f**king should have realized what was up before it went down...f**king diversion tactics, and I was **** dumb enough to fall for it, just damn young idiot...shouldn't have left those two but didn't realize Wrath would have been distracted as well.", clenching his fists, as he lowered his Leon trembled for a moment with his failure as Sloth reached out tentatively before letting one of her hands rest on the young man's shoulders as Serga watched on before turning his attention towards his clock, "I should have arrived sooner, but I didn't foresee the Council sending or rather the man that controls them sending in a team of their own so soon...of course...", Serga turned his attention to the two fallen women, his gaze thoughtful before turning back towards Leon who had now gotten himself under control and was thanking Sloth with a brief tightening of his own hand upon her own, "...but such an action would have been predictable concerning several factors."
Shaking his head Serga walked up towards Sloth and Leon before speaking again, "Did you retrieve the information that our principal sent you to retrieve as your good faith offering after we released these two crusaders into your care.", though his eyes strayed towards Dominique and wondering if she might have destroyed them, which was probable and would be a setback for them if she did.
"Naw, no sweat man, Sloth downloaded the data when she went searching for the generator.", motioning towards Sloth who with her characteristic smile aimed towards Leon, withdrew two disks from her utility belt before handing them towards Serga, Leon smiling slightly before grabbing Sloth's hand before letting it go.
"Admirable team work, I am quite pleased at how well your personal team gets things done.", pocketing the discs before withdrawing two vials, "As agreed these are the final two doses for them that should prevent the conditioning...", Serga tossing the two vials to Leon who smiled before handing one of them to Sloth before tossing the last one over to Wrath who caught it as he took another drag from his cig, his eyes peering at the vial before nodding, "I will also inform my principal that you have show interest in joining our faction...I will be in touch.", signaling his team of crusaders who had finished stabilizing Sin and Dominique before falling into ranks as Serga followed them.
Yet he paused as he heard Leon calling up to him, "What about those two...aren't they going to be part of the fight?", for a moment Serga looked towards Leon and Sloth before shaking his head, "My principal has found it would not be ready for them to join the fight until they choose to on their own terms...its what we gave you and your team.", with that Serga vanished around the corner with his crusaders, a single red feather drifting in the air after his departure.

In her dreams her body didn’t hurt. In fact the events of the night didn’t seem to play on her mind at all. The past was what her mind wanted to think about. The beautiful smile of a woman who could warm any man’s heart. An yet she chose to stay with Richard regardless of the way he treated her. She was always there for her. Dominique could remember her taking many punishments in her place. Her mother was always there for her. Except for that day she first visited the Crusaders Facility. She learned firsthand how painful her father’s rage could be. The day had started out like any other, and like always Richard went against her mother’s wishes. Always mumbling that a woman had no place or say in this world. He would then look at her and remind her that she was a curse to him and her mother.
Dominique gasped slightly as she felt the hot tears running down her face. She slowly opened her eyes for a moment, but they didn’t seem to grasp what was around her. All she could see was a bright light and dark shadows. The hall seemed to start spinning, and she grew extremely hot. The shadows seemed to fade into the darkness as she passed out once more. Her mind drifting back to the painful moment with her father. The day that changed her entire life, and took everything from her.
She remembered trying to change the subject to how well she was doing in training. An even that subject got him mad. He would complain about how she was to easily distracted in class by boys, and how easily manipulated she was. He blamed Serga and said that he was the worst one out of the entire group, because he couldn’t lay a finger on him. He would have had him transferred if he could, but due to his father’s standing within the Counsel before he passed away gave Serga the right to go wherever he wanted. An that thought alone angered Richard even more. Though she enjoyed Serga’s company. When they were together he always made her forget about the pain. He always made her feel like she was important. Between him and her mother she could care less what her father thought about her.
The trip to the facility was bad, but things seemed to turn around once she was there. She had met the priest that always visited her and her mother. She couldn’t really recall his name for all she knew she always called him Priest like everyone else. He would always spend some alone time with her mother, and then with them together. His voice was always soft and kind and he always asked how she was doing and what she was doing. When she would leave bits and pieces out he would push her until she told him. He would always praise her and tell her how proud he was of her. He would treat her like a father should always treat a daughter. She wished that she could have seen him again after her mother’s passing. But the day she died was also the last day she had seen him.
The tour of the facility wasn’t a pleasant one. Her father seemed to brag about the Crusader program, but from what she could tell it was just a slave pit that retrained children into what they wanted. He would brag on the training program that only the strongest survived. She remembered watching a kid about her age at the time fighting against a Bow. When the undead got ahold of her she tried to turn away, but her father forced her to watch as the child was ripped apart still screaming. Each limb being pulled from her body as if the BoW was playing with her pray. An even with all limbs torn from the body she still remained screaming. Her father kept saying watch as the BoW grabbed her head, and shoulder and ripped her head from her body. All she heard was screaming, and it took a bit to realize it was her. The screaming stopped before it was replaced with crying, and in turn her father slapped her.
Screaming at her that she was useless and that she would regret it if she didn’t act like the future leader to the Templars. She remained quite through the rest of the tour until she was in a chamber with other Templars. He stood proud like he was expecting praise from his daughter, and the thought of others in the room was like he wanted to rub it in that he had her trained to obey him at such a young age. Except he didn’t get the praise he expected. For a moment Dominique had found her voice and stood against her father cutting him down for torturing innocent children who couldn’t help themselves. She drilled at him the fact that if Crusaders were so important then Templars were obsolete because the Crusaders could do what a Templar was too scared to do. An she hit the point when she called him a coward who hid behind an army and created armies for his own purpose and not Gods.
She couldn’t continue anymore, because he took matters into his own hand. He slapped her hard enough that she hit the ground crying. He didn’t stop there as he jerked her to her feet and flung her against the wall. He slammed her head into the wall before slapping her again. He continued to beat her in front of the others and no one stepped in to pull him off of her. When then Priest entered into the room he was the only one to take action and pull him off of her. He didn’t wait for Richard to say anything instead swept her off her feet and took her home. When her mother found out what had happened she was furious. As she laid in her bed her mother pulled the Priest into the other room and talked for a good bit. When she returned Richard was waiting in the room. He ordered the Priest to leave the compound and return to the Crusaders’ Facility.
He obeyed the ordered, but remained behind as her mother took Richard out of the room to speak to him. Left alone with the Priest he talked as if they always had, about how proud he was of her for standing up for what she believed in. An it was that moment that he presented a sword to her. He told her it was a special weapon that could stand up to any Crusaders’ weapon, but in the end it wasn’t her weapon but hers to guard. He told her when she found the right person to guard her and protect her that she would give that person the weapon. For the first time he kissed her on the forehead before leaving the room. She still couldn’t understand the jester. She was left in her room, but when her mother never returned she had to go looking for her. When she asked the Templar’s in the building they told her they hadn’t seen her, but had also advised her to remain inside since the undead was attacking the fence line again.
She was walking by the front door when she heard the scream. She burst through the door toward the sound of the scream seeing her mother on the other side of the fence trying to take on the undead. She ran toward the fence wanting to help, but her father pulled her to a stop. She was forced to watch for the second time in one day someone being ripped apart. She felt her stomach drop and the tears pouring down her cheeks as her mother was ate alive in front of her. Her father tried to comfort her, but she wouldn’t have it. She wanted Serga the only person left in her life that could comfort her. Except as she ran to his room he wasn’t there . . . nothing was expect for a small note. It was an apology letter stating that he was sorry for breaking his promise of staying with her, but he had growing tired of her constant wining about her life and that she was to clingy. She felt her heart break, and when she turned around to the door her father was standing there with open arms.
Gasping heavily she jerked awake feeling the tears streaking down her face. It took a moment for her to realize where she was, and when she sat up she felt the sharp pain in her left arm. Gripping her arm tightly before realizing it was in a sling. Her leg had also been splinted up, and her wounds had stopped bleeding. She looked around amazed once more about what had happened. Her eyes growing wide as she seen the red feather laying on the floor. She forced herself up, and looked down at Sin as she lay sleeping. She looked up at Leon as he looked at her, before limping over to the feather and carefully picking it up. Serga’s face ran through her head. She closed her eyes feeling the tears down her face again. Her hand wrapped tightly around the feather before looking at them.
“You know the orders given when confronted by that individual.” She eyed Leon as he glared at her. “I would have thought Black armored Crusaders would have been able to deal with him?” She didn’t care whether he saved her life or not, but the painful memory of when she needed him the most she had to turn to the man who beat her. She pocketed the feather and staggered forward to look at Sin. With a struggle she knelt down beside her and brushed her hair out of her face.

Tilting to his head to the side, for a moment Leon simply stares before spitting, "You are a real piece of work aren't ya, what did you damn expect me to do...start a f**king battle in this corridor with god knows what else might be lurking around with some guy that ****ed off your father. Not to consider that two of us would have just been dead weight and gee...the rest of us have been on this mission for more than eighteen hours, s*** ya lets get this party started.", shaking his head before turning his attention back towards Sloth who was frowning but remaining silent, "Thank you but no...and here I thought you were the caring compassionate Templar that thought the Crusaders were more than weapons that you could take out and point."
Shrugging his shoulders before turning his head slightly to stare towards Dominique, "Fine thing to say but apparently when someone ****es you off you forget a lot about your ideals don't ya...very flexible moral code you got there lady.", turning around fully his eyes falling upon the care Dominique was giving Sin, "Oh I see, it only matters if that particular one doesn't get hurt is it...well see here Templar b*tch I care about my two guys, f**k when that b*tch you are so fond off blew my father's brains clear out of his head...hell I was willing to kill myself.", still looking towards Sin and Dominique, he gave a slight motion towards Sloth and a nod towards Wrath, "Hell, since you would fully agree with me on this...since this b*tch killed my da well...no hard feelings ya know.", with a final wave of his hand Wrath stubbed out his cig before moving behind Dominique, wrapping his arms around her securely as Sloth slid over to Sin, as she let her spear drift towards Sin's exposed throat.
With an easy movement Leon brought his assault rifle up, the barrel aimed towards Sin, "Since I know how much effort you put into trying to save Sin I might as well make sure this playing field is uneven ya know...even if you can get yaself free of Wrath and take care of Sloth, like you will of course considering you can barely stand on your own this here rifle of mine will put a slug right into Miss Sleeping Beauty before you can even get to me ya dig.", with a finality he unsnapped the safety before looking down the sight.
As the seconds ticked by Leon lowered his rifle before waving Sloth off, "Of course if I was like you this would have been done and over with, Sin would have been deader than s***, Wrath would have clucked you out cold and dragged you back to base and you get to see ya da's face and that f**king messed up smile of his when things go his way. Good thing, unlike you I got over what Sin did to my dad cause f**k...to her it wasn't right nor wrong it was something she did without thinking or feeling, took me awhile to figure that one out but f**k I am young I get to learn faster than ya apparently. Now I am ****ed mad at who trained Sin that way ya dig, she was a tool and hell as you found out its hard to hate her, she has that thing about her you know-when she fell off that cliff I tried my damnest to save her as well, and I am s*** glad she is alive.", slinging his rifle back onto his shoulder, Leon waited till Sloth was standing by his side again before reaching out to wrap his hand to hold hers, the two gaining some sort of comfort from each other.
With a twisted smile before looking towards Sloth, "Its why I do what I do, cause after Sin's lost I decided to ensure I didn't lose any one else from my new family you dig, see these guys they accepted me even though I was no trained and true Crusader when Sin said I was part of the squad they took me in and this here Sloth she took her time to get to know me despite her handicap at the time...now I personally found something worthwhile ya know...letting go of that demon but hey I am simply great ya know.", with a laugh, he motioned for Wrath to pick up Sin again, while Sloth slid back to help Dominique up again.
Twisting his head slightly so he could look towards Dominique, "Ya know what, sometimes you have to decide whats worth keeping, that hate of yours or that friend of yours...cause this world well...it won't ask twice ya get it.", with that he started walking down the corridor, Wrath moving past Dominique and Sloth.
For a moment Sloth didn't move, her half closed eyes looking towards Leon's retreating back, "He might be strange to deal with, but he is a descent person to follow and...love, even though the last is something I am still learning.", with that she shouldered most of Dominique's weight before helping her to follow the rest.

When Wrath wrapped his arms around her she cried out. An then it seemed that her world started to fall apart when Leon threatened Sin’s life. She struggled against Wrath’s grasp crying out as she felt the pain in her arm, but she didn’t care she didn’t want to lose Sin. When Leon relaxed his weapon and told Sloth to stand down all she could feel was her heart in her throat. Leon talked like he knew her past, but how much of it did he know. He knew a lot more than what he should, and the interesting new fact that played into mind was replaced by her past. She lowered her head feeling the tears streaming down her cheeks. She knew how awful the training for the Crusaders were how many of them were lacking the education in order to keep them dumb to the truth. When Wrath let her go all she could do was collapse to the ground.
He was right about her . . . no she shook her head. He didn’t know anything about her. At least when they were training they had people to train with, groups to support them even though they had to learn. When Serga left she had no one, but her father and a very painful and disappointed raising. She wiped the tears from her face as Sloth helped her to her feet. Her words surprising her a bit as she looked at Leon. He was human, but Sloth was altered and yet she was showing human signs. She smiled weakly before looking up at Wrath as he carried Sin. Her heart beating in her throat once more as again she had the complete fear that she would lose Sin again. She didn’t want to be alone again, she wanted a friend, and none of the people her father had picked for her were her friends.
Hanging her head as they continued on down the hall. “He betrayed me when I needed him the most,” she spoke softly. “When I had lost everything, and needed someone. He promised me he would never leave . . . and yet . . . when I ran to him all I got was a note telling me he was breaking his promise. He was tired of me, and he was leaving.” She sighed again before closing her eyes and letting Sloth lead the way. “He left me . . . with the man who hated me the most . . .” she trailed off. She opened her eyes as they finally approached the doors to the facility. She couldn’t have been happier to get to the base. With their help they were taken to the infirmary so they could be looked over.
Except there was one person waiting in the room that she didn’t want to see. Richard, her father, stood up from his chair and glared at Sloth as she helped her into the room. Dominique patted Sloth on the shoulder as she stepped away from her. She looked over to Wrath as he laid Sin down on the bed. She fought the urge to approach him, but knew she had to. Stepping past Leon she limped up to him and stood looking him in the eyes. She had to remember this was the man who sent out a powerful Crusader to kill Sin and almost succeeded. The look in his eyes was one of anger as he stared at Sin instead of look at her when she walked up. He never even expressed his concerns for her injuries.
“Where is the information I sent you to retrieve?” the question held the tone that he had an idea of what had happened with it.
“It was destroyed,” she said lightly as she looked down at the ground. “We had found the three surviving Crusaders, and during our escape from the facility we were separated by three powerful Crusaders that were altered in some way. We were sent in unprepared, and Sin was not at her full strength when we went in. She fought a valiant fight saving my life and taking down this Crusader, but the disks were lost.” The glare that Richard had given her at the fact she mentioned that Sin had saved her life instead of the other way around told her well enough he knew what happened in that room.
“Did I not tell you to retrieve those disks at all cost?!” he barked as he directed his full attention. “I did not care whether the Crusaders survived or not. They are nothing but our shields for us to achieve the greater good.”
Dominique gritted her teeth knowing the outcome of what she was about to do, but she had to. “The greater good would have been achieved if a certain someone didn’t alter said Crusaiders to kill my friend.”
The slap was loud and seemed to echo through the room, and the strength of the hit knocked her down on the ground. No one in the room seemed to move not even the medical staff that could have done something. “These creatures are not your Friends!” he barked as he turned to head to the side door. “Get it through your head! I expect to see you in my office once medical clears you. I am not finished with your punishment, daughter,” he spat out the last word like it was almost poison on his tongue. With that he slammed the door shut behind him.
As the rest of the room returned to normal Dominique couldn’t help but lay her head on the ground. She rested her good hand on her throbbing cheek feeling the blood on her lip from where her lip was busted. She couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that no one would do anything, and she had to undergo this even in front of others. It was maybe the fact that the people who had the ability to stop this throughout the years never even tried.

Leon lowered his arm, Wrath and Sloth edging their hands from their weapons as they each stared daggers at the retreating back of Dominique's father, his voice low that only those two could hear, "Hold it there, we can't get ourselves ousted now...though we will get him mark me, he's a dead s*** someday.", motioning Sloth to help Dominique up, as Wrath went over to watch over Sin, the medical personal wary of his silent watchfulness as they started working on Sin, removing her armor as they began taking care of her wounds-yet always aware that if Wrath found something remiss his hand never seemed to stray from his war hammer. In time Envy and Gluttony entered the infirmary taking up position before wheeling Sin out of the ward towards the Seraph's squad's area where she could recuperate. Wrath his job finished nodded towards Leon before leaving the infirmary as well, several medical personal barely dodging out of his way as he went through the double doors.
After helping Dominique to her feet, Sloth stood still for a moment before leaning to whisper in Dominique's ear, "If you ever need anything just head to Seraph's area, Wrath and myself will always be willing to help you.", with a smile towards Leon, Sloth as well left the ward.
For awhile Leon stood in the middle of the ward, his gaze still on the spot where Dominique's dad stood before shaking his head, as he walked towards Dominique, the doctor treating her wounds leaving them by themselves as the black armor Leon wore seemed to repel them. Leaning forward to look Dominique in the eyes, his own hooded before straightening up, "You got ya self a bum deal ya know that..but hey...you got your crusader and...", for a moment he simply remained silent, his eyes almost weighing something before shrugging his shoulders, "...you at least got a few allies with ya now since Sin thinks you are something special, I might as well keep an eye out for ya...", with one more look Leon turned to head towards the doors, though stopping before shooting back over his shoulder, "Though watch out for Lust, she is one loco crusader...", with that he was gone.

She couldn't help but laugh at the statement about Lust. She already knew that she was a crazy one. She sighed as she sat down on the bed and let the doctors finish tending to her wounds. She continued to watch the door that Sin had been taken out of. She flinched from time to time, but after she had been treated they wanted her to remain for observation and rest. How could she when they wouldn't do anything. People who had the chance to make a change, and all they did was hide. She shook her head at the infirmary. She made her way to the Templar quarters for those who only had temporary stay at the facility. Since her first night there, and seeing as her father seemed to still be here. She figured it would only be obvious she would have a room. Using the chart she quickly found her quarters. Now that she didn't have to worry about Sin's safety for the time being she could retreat into herself for a little bit. Opening the door she found the single bed and computer. Though across the room neatly hanging on a stand was her actual armor instead of the Kevlar armor she wore.
Sitting on the bed Dominique couldn't help but wonder what the extents of her abilities were. She was just a mere child and yet Richard seemed to fear her. He didn't show it, but in a way he did by trying to humiliate her and break her confidence in herself. She wondered if he was setting things up for her to take control without any trouble like he kept telling her, or if he was making sure she couldn't change anything once she had control. She knew one thing she would change regardless of how much effort her father put forward to stopping her. She was going to change the Templars' views of Crusaders. If they could learn to work with the Crusaders instead of using them then anything was possible. Maybe even a new start on life, but with the way her father went this new start on life he was aiming for was a wrong one.
As she sat on her bed she couldn't help but smile. Richard had at one time told her that she was changing, and allowing herself to be manipulated by others. The more she thought about it the more she was sure it was her father doing the manipulation. She just had help in reopening her eyes to what she already knew. Though she knew why she turned a blind eye in the first place. It was when her mother was murdered in front of her. She had turned to Serga for the comfort only his friendship could give. Yet he was no longer there for her. He had abandoned her at the time she needed him the most. An as she sat crying with no hope of comfort her father was there. After keeping his distance for so long he came back when she needed him the most. Then as the years went by he helped her grow stronger in order to feed her desire for revenge. She couldn't help but laugh at his feeble attempt at helping her make friends. They were people only he approved of, but none she would ever care for.
She knew the lack of these certain friends made it difficult for her to move through the ranks, but she managed on her own. Looking at the picture of her mother she wondered if she would approve of her actions up until this point. She knew that she didn't when she looked back. Thinking about what Leon had said about her she knew that her mother would be ashamed of her. She was ashamed of how she treated others mostly the Red Crusaders she was given. She treated them like it was their last day, and maybe that was why none of them ever survived with her. She was no different than the rest of the Templars. Just the thought alone sent chills through her body. An when she thought about Sin she couldn't help but feel like a failure. Here she stood up for her and would keep anyone from punishing or hurting her only because she wanted Sin. If it was another Red Crusader she would just stand back while he or she was being punished, or wouldn't run so fast to their aid like she did with Sin. The more she thought about it the more she realized that she was just like any other Templar.
She was heartless, cold, unforgiving, and didn't care about anything unless it suited her. She wasn't the divine servant of the Lord she thought she was. She was worse . . . someone who tried to be something they weren't. It wasn't her that didn't deserve Sin, but Sin who didn't deserve her. Sin deserved better, and yet she was driven to take Sin for herself taking her away from what she knew. Standing up from the bed she put on her armor which as she realized when she put it on still stood out from the Templars too. It was made different to tell her apart from the Templars, but to also express her status among the Templars. She sighed a bit as she finished and put her hair up.
Replacing her sword, dagger, and guns she made her way out of her room. She needed air, and she wanted to see Sin. Though as she drew closer to the Seraph's area her stomach started to turn on itself. She couldn't help but feel like she had let Sin down. Striving to prove that she was different than the other Templars she had found that she was no different than any of them. The look in Leon's eyes. He cared deeply for Sin as did the rest of them, and she was shellfish enough to take her away from them. Holding her left arm as it throbbed she turned away from the area. She would let Sin rest and have peace with her friends before she interfered and ruined it again. Though now she didn't know where she was going.

Apparently Dominique really didn't know where she was going when she ran right into Pride, and though he had stopped moving he was still fully armored when Dominique walked head long into the tall man. For a moment Pride stared down at Dominique who had fallen over backwards from the collision, rubbing several bruises she had gained from walking into his armored torso, remaining silent though is gaze thoughtful Pride leaned down to offer Dominique his hand in getting up, after having helped the woman up from the floor. Pride stood for a few moments, his eyes looking past her towards where his squad's rooms were, ironic that it was also considered the black armored crusaders barracks in a way.
With that voice of his that sounded like thunder, Pride turns his gaze towards Dominique, "I am surprised...though...perhaps not so.." as he moved aside to let Dominique by if she wanted to pass, "From my understanding both Sin and yourself was were wounded in that mission of yours, but Sin remains unconsciousness and you have yet checked up on her...perhaps you do not know where her rooms are or are you afraid to enter a crusader's room.", shrugging his massive shoulders, his sword hilt bobbing behind his back before he started walking again, "I would stay and inquire as to why you who have shown such care towards Sin would not see if she was fine...but I need to find Lust for a mission we are being sent upon, and from what I gathered this was the last area she was last seen within.", with that Pride started walking away, and for such a huge man he barely made any sound.
Meanwhile as Sin rested within her bed, her armor and clothes piled upon a chair beside the bed, Sloth made sure she was comfortable enough before taking her leave, though Leon would have preferred if she guard she still had to perform her duties. In seconds she had exited the room, and from the bathroom Lust strode into the room a coy smile playing along her lips as she gazed towards the door before her smile grew as she turned her attention towards Sin. "I knew that old man's plan would fail, "with a faint almost tittering giggle she walked till she stood at the foot of Sin's bed her emerald eyes alight with something that bespoke her name, "...even wounded the night before she managed to come back alive...and even asleep she looks so...", unable to complete the thought as she walked around to the side of the bed, Sloth having tucked Sin in through arranging Sin's hair as it flowed upon the pillow and blanket, it was a sight that made Lust's heart speed looking upon her slumbering form.
"Truly, Sloth knows how to arrange a picture perfect scene, pity she didn't realize who would be enjoying it the most...of course a good thing for me that she didn't...", with a laugh, through every member in Seraph squad got along well with each other, Sloth and Lust did have some friction, especially even more so lately something Lust didn't quite understand but it really didn't matter as she reached out to let her hand run through the white gold strands of Sin's hair, delighting in how soft it felt as it slid through her fingers before moving her hand to let a finger caress Sin's cheek.
She could barely control herself, already her breath was coming faster as she let her finger trail the curve of Sin's face, "So very hard not to ruin what I like, a child with a new toy and yet not willing to open the box because they want it to be perfect...but...oh my what harm could it be for but a brief taste...", with a playful grin, Lust leaned forward so her face hovered over that of Sin's , her finger gently rubbing along Sin's bottom lip before slipping down the chin to the soft curve of Sin's neck before stopping, her eyes widening as she turned her gaze towards a small scab.
With a snarl Lust lifted her head to study that small pin prick of a scar, someone had dared marred...inject something into her Sin. "I will kill that old man if he dares mar my Sin with that nasty idea of his...", gritting her teeth, till for a moment she looked more animal than human when the door opened, her body turning just as she released one of her daggers, the blade slamming into the wood of the door frame and the hilt quivered from the impact.

Dominique was left standing as Pride walked away. She knew where Sin was, but she didn’t want to go there. An yet it was killing her more not going there then it was to hide from the face that she was just like the others. Her hand drifted toward her wounded shoulder that was hidden beneath her armor. She could feel the throbbing pain as the weight of her armor sat on her shoulder, and yet she knew the weight was nowhere near what a Crusader’s armor weighed. She looked back toward the area that lead to Sin’s room. She was like an Angel and she was just another human who wanted to covet a rare beauty. She straightened up and made her way toward the Seraph’s area. She had a new plan in mind. She had something she wanted to ask Simon about Sin. Maybe he would have an idea of how to be able to free her from the curse that her father had put her under.
She may have been hiding under a lie, but maybe she could change that around. Maybe Sin was a blessing from God to open her eyes up. She wanted to be different from the rest of the Templars not just say that she was different. She looked down at the ground before reaching the door. Leon was right about her, but maybe she could change that. With her hand rested on the door she looked back down the hall she had come from. Her father hated the way she acted now and always thought she was being manipulated by others. But it was him doing the manipulating, and it was always the others that seemed to be showing her the light. She just wished that he wouldn’t take it out on Sin. She hadn’t done anything, but be dragged into this by her. Dominique sighed a bit as she turned and opened the door.
Walking into the main area she was a bit surprised to find a common area, but then when she thought about it. A lot of the Crusaders’ living areas were refurbished Templar barracks. When Richard wanted more Crusaders he had to move them into open Templar rooms, and then it just lead to the building on of a whole new area just for the Templars. She looked around the area finding that she had no clue where Sin was sleeping. She sighed a bit realizing that there was no one in the area either. She didn’t want to go room to room to find Sin knowing that in one of those rooms Pride might have been in. At the moment she didn’t really want to run into him . . . the last run in was kind of painful. But he seemed more aware of what was going on within the order just like Leon was. Though Leon seemed to have more insight into her than she liked. When she seen Sloth she let out a sigh of relief.
“Sloth,” she called as she walked up to her. “Thank you for bringing Sin here. I feel a bit better with her being where very few Templars tred.”
“An yet you tred here?”
Dominique smiled lightly and nodded. “I was about not to, but you could say a brick wall changed my mine.”
Sloth nodded as she looked down the hall. “Pride has a way of doing that. Sin will be safe here. You will find her the third room down.” She turned to look at Dominique though her eyes always remaining half closed. “If you excuse me I have my duties to attend to.” With that she made her way out of the room.
Dominique smiled as she watched Sloth leave. Out of all the Black Crusaders she had met they were all different than the Crusaders. They seemed to almost be awaking to humanity that her father tried so hard to hid them from. Even with the virus running through their body they were becoming more human than a human. As she stood in the main area she couldn’t help but realize that maybe the monsters that her father so readily referred to living here wasn’t the Crusaders but the Templars. She shook her head as she moved down the hall toward the door. Opening the door she jerked her head back out reaction more than anything else. The dagger sticking in the door frame. She looked up seeing Lust in the room. Her hand reaching up and ripped the dagger from the frame as she stepped into the room.
“To be honest I am not surprised to see you in here, but my question still stands why are you here?” Her hand gripping the dagger tightly as she kept her back toward the wall she didn’t want a repeat of what had happened in the infirmary the first time. “An Pride is looking for you something about another mission,” she pointed out hoping to at least get Lust out of the room without any problems.

With barely a second going by Lust coy smile returned, her emerald eyes lighting up with a playful light upon seeing who it was that disturbed her, with a very faint purr that gave her words a slight drawl, "My, same as you I believe my tastey treat, looking upon a beauty sleeping the day's rigors away...and of course perhaps a few other things.", with a smirk Lust seemed to move in an instant to press her body up against Dominique.
"But seeing as you are here, I might find you a bit more diverting of my attention...or perhaps some fun before work.", winking playfully as she slid her hand down Dominique's hand, her fingers slowly prying the dagger from Dominique's grip, "But such a dangerous item, can't let you cut yourself by accident can we...", sliding her dagger back into its sheath as she leaned further up against Dominique, though as the armor prevented her from going any further a pout formed on her face, "But...you are wearing so much armor...my aren't we the chaste one...", leaning her head forward, her ruby red hair tickling Dominique's face, hot breath caressing her neck as she whispered, "...perhaps that is what will make claiming you all the more fun...since Sin should remain pure as Sin can be...", laughing as moved her head her emerald eyes alight with a dark light as she leaned forward.
From behind her, a melodious voice though tired and strained, "Lust..that will be enough.", levering herself up from the bed, her hand holding the blanket to cover herself before leaning against the head rest, the pillow propping her up Sin turned to look towards Lust and Dominique, her blue eyes though a bit paler than their usual hue still seemed to sparkle, "You have a mission to go onto...and a leader must be early to take the briefing.", with that said she closed her eyes before resting her head against the wall, her golden hair falling in waves upon her bare shoulders and blanket.
With a almost stricken look, the light within her eyes dimming ever so slightly , Lust turned to bow before Sin, "Yes, mission going.", her words brief and siimple before she left the room.
"Lady Templar I hope she didn't inconvience you...", falling silent as she opened her eyes to look towards Dominique.

Dominique blinked as she watched Lust leaving the room. Her mind trying it’s best to wrap around what she was saying. Lust seemed to live up to her name, and the way she looked at Sin when she entered it was evident who the one it was she lusted after. Though it seemed that she had become a distraction in between the time that Lust couldn’t have Sin. She let out a breath that she just now realized she was holding. She shook her head as she looked at Sin, and smiled again even after waking she seemed to know what was going on. She looked back to the door before walking over to the bed and sitting down on the edge to look at Sin. Her hair radiating as it caressed her soft tender skin illuminating that fact that she was an Angel. She shook her head as she put her hand on her face realizing just how much she lusted over Sin as Lust did. She looked up at the worried look that Sin had given her and laughed.
“It is fine.” She smiled as she adjusted herself on the bed. “I am glade that you are awake.” Sin had been through so much, and in this short time she had done some soul searching herself. “Sin,” she said lightly not really knowing how she was going to approach this matter, but she needed to know. She looked to the door finding her mind drifting to the mission that Pride and Lust had to go on. She knew that she was trying to avoid what she wanted to talk to Sin about, but she knew she had too. An then her eyes fell on a glass. Standing up she picked up the glass and disappeared into the bathroom leaving Sin still wondering why she had said her name, but nothing more. She returned back and placed the glass beside her. Though this time she didn’t sit back down on the bed. She walked over to the armor picking up the sword she had given her earlier. She smiled for the fact that Sin had managed to hold onto it.
“This weapon was not given to me by my father. He is nowhere near loving enough to give his daughter suck a gift.” She hung her head before pull the blade out. She held it up allowing the light to reflect off the blade she smiled before looking at Sin. “It was given to me as a gift from a Priest. This Priest had always been a support to my mother and myself when I was younger, but when I turned ten everything changed. “ She sheathed the sword and sat it on Sin’s lap, before kneeling beside her bed. “But that’s a story for another time.” She took Sin’s free hand and held it between her hands. “This sword was given to me as a gift, but not to remain mine. I was told when I have chosen the right person to protect me that I would give them this sword.” She smiled lightly as she looked at Sin. “Sin, you have done nothing wrong. You have fought valiantly, you have strived through the impossible, and still pull through.” She patted her on the hand before placing it on the hilt. “I have chosen to give you this weapon. Use it as an extension of yourself.”
She stood up knowing well enough that she was still avoiding what she wanted to really talk to her about. She cleared her throat for a moment before looking back at her. “I’m avoiding what I want to talk to you about. I’m kind of worried.” She walked to the foot of the bed and leaned against the dresser facing the bed. “My soul searching has left me realizing that I am worse than a Templar. I think I am different than them, where as I’m just like them.” She looked at Sin. “I have failed in my mother’s eyes as a good person, and have done nothing but use others as a shield. When you came into my life I have started treating you differently. Leon . . . he has opened my eyes to how I was acting.” She looked down at the ground again. “Maybe my eyes were opened before then, but it took a slap of truth to make me realize it.” She brought her hand around to rub the shoulder that had been hurt. “To be honest when I look at you I can’t help but think of a fallen Angel who is seeing to gain her wings. An I think God has brought you into my life to show me who I once was.” She lowered her hand and looked at Sin. “When I was younger my mother always instilled on me treating others as I wanted to be treated. I always pretended to act like that but now that I look back on it I was no different than the others.”
“This brings me to the fact that I want to change. My father talks about Crusaders being monsters, but the more I see the more I realize you and the others are more human than the Templars could ever be. We, Templars, are the monsters and we use you and the others as slaves.” She looked down at the ground. “I truly want that to change, but I need help.” She smiled weakly as she looked at Sin. “I need your help. There was a reason we met in the woods that night. Even if you think about it the odds of our meeting should never had truly happened. So a divine intervention had to play in that factor, and I don’ think it was just for you to protect me. I think it was to stand by my side as a friend and partner.” Looking around the room she just now realized this wasn’t the normal items that a Crusader would have in their room. The books on the shelf indicated that it was for someone who use to work in the facility. She pushed that thought aside before looking at Sin. “So my question is . . . and keep in mind that it will be hard. My father has already expressed his hatred of me having you as a Crusader. But my question is will you stand by my side as a friend and partner?”

As Dominique spoke, Sin brought her knees to her chest, bunching up the blanket before wrapping her arms around her legs as she let her head rest upon knees-it was an odd habit back when Simon use to tell her the stories that had molded her throughout her life. She really didn't know how to proceed or how to take in all this, all her life she was told many things, and taught many things and through it all it warred with her-how she should act and behave, what was right or wrong...till now she only wanted to be a true crusader like the ones that Simon told her of ages past who would stand and fight upon some lone embankment with sword and shield in hand, defending what was right in the world. Yet, she could never understand what was right or wrong in the world, she was told one thing and then a wholly different from Templar to Simon and now Dominique. She desperately wanted to be the perfect crusader, it was a need an urge of hers, the very thought of failing becoming one made her tighten into a tighter ball as Dominique made her plea and for a moment Sin closed her eyes torn between what she had been taught throughout her life and what she felt from Dominique's words which echoed so closely Simon's own of finding a purpose in one's life.
With a slight tremble, Sin thought of Dominique's words how the Templar's thought the crusaders were monsters, and after what they went through on the mission it was hard for Sin to deny that comment no matter how hard she wished it wasn't so-yet the evidence was so damning that for a brief moment she felt her center drop away leaving her floating in the void before remembering Dominique's words how they weren't monsters, which drew Sin back to Simon whose smile was radiant when he looked up her that last time. Beneath the blanket laid his cross, the smooth wood resting upon her skin between her breasts, and her center returned to her thinking of that small piece of wood and how it was once Simon's, it kept him in her mind no matter what she went through that cross called to her and for a brief moment it let her think and dream of that embankment standing as the world's defender against what was wrong in the world.
Yet, something was holding her back, was it because what she believed was wrong, what did she believe-was it Simon's words, Dominique's gestures...or was it the Templars who taught her all that she is and yet part of what she was grown through Simon. Now Dominique wished her help to find herself, to become something more and what could she do, she wasn't even sure if she was a true crusader anymore, was she a monster like the one they fought. Could she deny the ideas it implanted into her mind that still set her world trembling every time her mind was brought back to that moment when she heard his word speaking of Dominique's father sending it to eliminate her.
Aware that Dominique was still waiting for her answer, and yet Sin was unable to give one just yet, her mind and view shattered beyond repair-she couldn't even return to the point where she could hide her weakness, it seemed to envelope her, denying her of any strength that she might have gained from retreating into the mindset she has grown to survive the rigors of her childhood. Opening her eyes, their blue like that of a spring lake peering around her room-Simon's room-taking some measure of solace with the books that lined the shelves, her eyes going towards several that she had listened to with rapt attention.
She was lost and she knew it, bereft of Simon's guidance, and perhaps she was as she feared a failed crusader...and the monster they fought was the true crusader...it had no hesitation at all within its mien.
Breathing deeply before letting out her breath, her hair rustling upon her shoulders and the blankets, the light of the room causing each strand to shine golden. "I-I don't want to be human, and yet I am and for that I have become a flawed weapon...unable to keep its sharpness....blunted.", her voice wistful in its sadness, and yet Sin didn't know what feeling seemed to flow within her words making the sweet melody a sorrowful dirge, as if she was preparing to face and ending of sorts-in truth it was the end of her ability to remain as she so desperately wish to remain an unfeeling weapon, fraught with a flaw that has weakened the blade that was her soul.
With a gravity, Sin drew the blankets from her form before stepping from the bed, and with her armor or clothes it showed how her body trembled from the wounds it had sustained, patches of black and blue bruises marring her white skin as she turned to face Dominique, the wooden cross resting between her breasts before she knelt upon the floor, her body shivering from the aches and pains of her body, a reminder of how far she had fallen...with no sign of how long it would be before she once more attained the heavens
Bowing her head, her golden hair flowing past her face, "This flawed weapon will remain by your side till it breaks, My Lady Templar...put this blade to use to strike your foes for your will is my own, your heart my own...I pledge you my life to use as you see fit...and to toss away. Just...just...", for a moment Sin remained silent, gently biting her lower lip, before looking up towards Dominique, wetness sparkling within the depths of her blue eyes, glistening pools within a dark lake. Lunging her forward, her hand taking up the blade before resting it upon Dominique's lap, before leaning forward to kiss the naked blade, as her hair fell upon Dominique's lap.
"Yet me become like this blade...let me become your blade Lady Templar...and though this blade is flawed it would give its life for you...give me a purpose My Lady...let me offer myself to you.", lifting her gaze to stare up towards Dominique.

Dominique was taken back by Sin’s actions. She shook her head as she felt herself blushing. Reaching over to the blanket she pulled it off the bed and draped it over her shoulders. Setting the sword to the side she knelt down in front of Sin and pulled the blanket tighter around her before wrapping her own arms around her. Even with the wounds she had sustained her body still radiated like an Angel should have looked. Still she felt awful knowing that if it wasn’t for her Sin’s body wouldn’t have been mared with bruises and wounds. She held Sin tightly as she felt her body trembling in her arms. She smiled lightly as she brought her hand up to stroke her soft golden hair. Sin thought of herself as a broken weapon, but she never seen that. She was a lost Angel that needed to be shown the way, and she would hope that one day she could show her the truth.
“Stop that,” she spoke lightly as she continued to stroke Sin’s hair. “You are not a broken weapon. You are the perfect weapon, and I think that is what scares my father.” She pulled Sin away from her and smiled lightly. “Everything that has had a purpose in my life he has taken away from me. He kept giving me Crusaders knowing that they couldn’t protect me in the battle field, and knowing well enough that I would keep coming back to him.” She brushed a strand of hair from Sin’s face before helping her up. She led her over to the bed and sat her down on it. “With you I do not have to do that anymore. I have someone I can depend on, and it’s not him.” Dominique couldn’t help but laugh as she stood up. “Sin you know how I can tell that you are the perfect weapon?” She looked at her finding her eyes to be mesmerizing. “Because the person who leads this organization is afraid of what you will do to his daughter.” She walked to the book case and ran her fingers along the books. “He fears that you will cause me to see Crusader’s different, and then I could put everything she has worked for in jeopardy.”
She shook her head as she turned to look at Sin. “Maybe that is for the good.” She pulled a book off the shelf and looked at it. “Sin that creature in that facility wasn’t the perfect weapon. It was a virus used to manipulate the genes for a Crusader.” She looked back at Sin and grinned as she put the book up. “Besides if he was the perfect Crusader he fell to one weak Templar. Granted I did have your help.” She walked over to Sin and put her hand on her shoulder. “Do not worry about what anyone here thinks of you. As my friend and partner you are the perfect Crusader, and I think what makes that possible is the fact you do have emotions and don’t hide them like the others.” She patted Sin on the head as she turned to head for the door. “This father of yours has done an amazing job at raising an amazing child given the odds you’ve had to go through.” Reaching for the door she paused for a moment. “I have to go see my father. I was supposed to see him after I left the infirmary, but oh well.” She smiled at Sin before leaving the room.
She made her way out into the main area not seeing anyone around. She sighed a bit as she looked back toward Sin’s room and smiled lightly. Walking out the door she was surprised to come face to face with several Templars waiting for her. “I’m assuming my father grew impatient.” With no response one grabbed her by the arm jerking her in the direction of his office. Dominique growled as she grabbed his arm and jerked it backwards bending him over backwards. The others drew their swords and she couldn’t help but laugh. “Really . . . you do know who trained me, right?” She shifted throwing him into one of the other Templars. “Regardless of what my father does to me in front of you, I’ll be damned if I allow you to do it to me.” She glared at the one in command of the group. “Touch me again and I’ll make sure you go to my father missing a limb, do you understand?” He motioned for the Templars’ to sheath their weapons. With that she nodded and walked past them. His office wasn’t too far away, and as she approached the door the other took stand outside the door.
She didn’t bother knocking as she walked into the room allowing the doors to shut she walked to stand in front of his desk. Richard sat on the other side of the desk looking out the window that over looked a beautiful lake. She sighed before turning around to look at Dominique smiling a bit seeing the armor she wore. “I see you’ve decided to put on the armor I have given you.” He stood up and walked around the desk looking her over. “Built just for you, and to show your future standings within this organization. It shows your uniqueness and strengths, but hides your soft heart.” He reached up putting his hand on her bad shoulder and squeezed. The pain causing Dominique to cry out as she hit her knees grabbing her shoulder. “It even hides your failures.”
Walking over he pulled out a red feather and sat it on the desk along with the broken disks from earlier. “I see you’ve had some contact with an old friend.” He glared at her before taking the disks and tossing them at her. “What do you think was going to happen when I found out?” He shook his head as he looked at Dominique. “I think it’s time to punish your Crusader because her failures have lead you to fail.” As if on que one of the Templars enters the room. “Bring me my daughters Crusader.” With a nod he left the room.
“She is my friend, and my partner. You cannot dictate what she can and cannot do!” Dominique growled as she stood in front of her father. “She is a hum . . .” Her words dropped off as Richard slapped her hard enough that she hit the floor. Her hand drifted to her check as she glared at him. Her mind remembering her first time visiting a Crusaders’ camp, and nearly the exact same outcome to her stance against her father. The only exception would be the fact that she wasn’t balling like a baby this time. “You do not represent God . . . God wouldn’t allow you to belittle someone that could be of great value to you.”
“You are very naive, daughter,” he growled as he drew his sword and pointed it at her throat. “I represent him in all aspects. I take those and lead those who wish to be lead, and have to punish those who do not.”
“You manipulate them.”
Richard knelt down placing the blade against her neck. “I will not hesitate to kill my own flesh and blood if you turn traitorous against the order. This is war, and the punishment to a traitor is death.”
“This is your war . . . a war you created because you were lo . . .” Again her words were cut off, but this time Richard had grabbed her throat and started to squeeze. Dominique chocked and gasped for air as she tried her best to pry her father’s hand from her neck. It seemed the harder she tried the tighter he squeezed. She could feel the darkness taking her with each gasp she took, her grip on his hands losing with each second. Then at the last second she was about to pass out he let go of her neck and pulled her into a full embrace hugging her tightly as she gasped for air that was coming back in short waves with each breath.
“I’m sorry, but if this is the path to punish you and bring you back to me I will take it,” he spoke softly as he stroked the back of her hair. “So many people have tried to corrupt you, and take you away from me. You are still young and naive. You don’t know the difference, but I will show you and help you. Even if I have to continue to punish you.”
Dominique could do nothing but rest her head against his shoulder as she felt the tears in her eyes. Knowing well enough that this wasn’t a punishment, but he truly tried to kill her. At the last moment he must have had a change of heart or his conscious was nagging at him, but she knew better. He was planning something else, but she didn’t know what. She closed her eyes knowing that she couldn’t move to get away from him at the moment because her body felt limp and tingly. She wished whole heartedly that there were others in the room to pull him away, but she was stupid enough to enter his study alone. Her mind drifted to Sin as she wondered where she was and what she was doing, and wishing whole heartedly that she was here with her. “You say you are my father,” she spoke horsley as she tried to find her voice. “But no father would treat their child like this . . . I’ve tried so hard to prove myself to you, and no matter what I do you disapprove.”
Richard held her tighter. “No father has to live with a daughter who is easily manipulated by others. You are in line to become head of the Templars but as long as you allow others to manipulate you then everything we have worked for would be lost.” He pulled her away from him. “That monster has been the worst of the bunch.”
