"...I knew he shouldn't have gone out, doesn't matter. The name's Christopher. Christopher O'Neal. Though everyone here calls me Chris."
Chris backed off and looked towards the two people holding off the zombies. He already knew something was gonna happen if they didn't leave within the next hour or so. The zombies were piling up and soon enough they'd bum-rush the fence and start picking away one by one. Chris looked to the man standing at the Bank entrance.
"Aaron! We got another one. Any plans on getting outta here?"
Chris hadn't bothered to notice John's B.S.A.A. outfit, as he walked towards the man standing at the entrance. He carried his way through and through the bank, the response would be vibrated through and with the door open it wouldn't be so hard. The stench of the sewers was rising, but because the entrance was sealed shut from the bottom, there was no way of getting into it. Chris had brought himself down and grasped hold of it, praying his luck and tried pulling. Ultimately, it didn't budge at all, and Chris just kept pulling praying in some form of way that God would have some mercy and let them leave.

John could finally catch his breath, he was safe for now but zombies would break in the base at any moment. Chris walked away and into the Bank, leaving John more time to examine their base. Every now and then zombies would bang heavily on the fence, startling John slightly. One of the two men who stood in the front unloading their weapons began to notice John. The man turned around fully to face John while he spoke; he wore B.S.A.A accessories with the standard B.S.A.A gear.
"John, was it? I'm Curtis Meade."
John focused on the man, he stood at a tall 6' 1" he held a modified AK-47. John, hearing the man's name, rummaged through his side pack; he retrieved a piece of paper with a picture connected.
"Curtis Meade! You're my objective for sure!"
John's excitement scared Curtis; John had found the missing B.S.A.A member he had been sent out here to search for.
"Uh, I'm guessing you've been sent here to find me? I'm relieved, newbie, so when's the cavalry supposed to arrive?"
John had no answer for the man, he hadn't really focused on how to get out; just how to find his objective. Curtis awaited an answer as John reached for his phone in his pocket; it wasn't there. John's face grew slightly pale as the realization that he had no way to contact base set in. Curtis shook his head and reverted back to firing at the horde of zombies. John held onto hope, he knew he had to find a way to contact HeadQuarters. He backed up and sat down in a chair facing the horde of zombies, he began to reload his weapon while watching the undead shake the fence; they needed to leave soon.

Chris pulled and pulled, and there was a soft creak. It gave part-way, then suddenly the lid came up, standing straight up on its hinges. Chris ended up flying backwards and landing on his back, letting out a gasp of surprise. Two hands lifted from the hole and grasped on the edge, pulling a body out as Daisuke looked over towards John. His relieved grin turned into a frown.
"Dammit of all the people I had to find, I'm not going to babysit you again."
Daisuke spoke, standing from the sewer line and dusted the dirt from his body from the climb. He looked back to Chris who had been getting up, Daisuke looked around and cursed somewhat. He'd completely forgotten that people were here, and shook his head and walked into the bank. His footsteps carried him throughout the bank, searching for the vault.
Chris had blinked, looking towards John and pointed to Daisuke who'd walked away. Then pointed to John and shrugged somewhat, it wasn't worth knowing if they knew each other. They had a way out now. Chris whistled towards Aaron, the man who'd been silent the entire time. Aaron looked back and nodded, but suddenly was grabbed from through the fence, clawing at his body and scratching into it. Aaron let out a loud sharp shout of pain. Finally his deep voice called out,
"Go! Get out of here now!"
Daisuke had been working the vault, just listening to the gunshots from outside and was busy trying to get it open. He wanted at least SOME money to take with him, god knows when they'd get a currency operation back in and Daisuke wanted it for future sake.

John ran past Aaron who was now firing off his remaining bullets to take out as many zombies as he could. Curtis and the other man followed behind John as they ran for the escape. A loud metal clank shattered through the air as John took one final look at the fence; it was destroyed and zombies poured through it. A quick gasp escaped under John's breath as he quickly caught back up to the group and past Curtis and the other man. The undead were trailing close behind, they had to keep moving. A shreak echoed through the bank as the man behind Curtis tripped and was now being eaten alive. He cried for help, but there was no turning back; even John knew this.
"C'mon Curtis there's nothing we can do!"
Curtis nodded and forced himself to leave the other survivor behind. John had caught back up to Chris as the undead fell far behind. Curtis continued onward with Chris as John went over to the vault where Dai had been trying to get it open.
"Dai! We have to go now!"

Creaaaaaaak...Creak. Ching ching...CRASH!
The distant sound of the gate crashing, a distant scream and running footsteps. Daisuke muttered incoherent swearing beneath his breath. He pulled the vault open and rushed into it, but saw it was completely empty save for a few stacks of bills. He removed his backpack and unzipped it, opening it and Daisuke swiped the cash inside. Suddenly a voice came from behind him.
"Dai! We have to go now!"
Daisuke unholstered his weapon and threw his backpack over his shoulder again. He unzipped it with it on his back and began running and shooting the infected in the head as they burst through. He leaped down into the sewer, catching onto a rung of a ladder and dropping again and landing on the ground. He'd met Chris who'd been the first one to dive into the sewer, not literally of course. Chris looked up and watched for Curtis and John before shouting up.
"COME ON! LET'S GO YOU GUYS!"
Daisuke looked up and shook his head, pushing passed Chris who looked over to Daisuke. Grabbing the boy by the shoulder, Daisuke halted and looked to Chris who questioned him.
"Oi, where are you going?"
Daisuke scoffed and used his arm to break the grip on his shoulder, an annoyed look on his features as he looked to Chris. His stare cold as he replied.
"I'm not going to babysit you guys, besides, the more people in a group the more whining and the worst chance I have in surviving."
Daisuke could only think about himself, he didn't want to end up like his father. Pain and guilt, sadness swooped over him but he turned and walked away from Chris. Chris reluctantly let him go, but looked up towards the manhole waiting for John and Curtis.

John stood as Daisuke instantly ran ahead of him, without so much as a quick glance in his direction. The Zombies quickly got close as John ran with Curtis to the Manhole the others had already jumped into.
"COME ON! LET'S GO YOU GUYS!"
Chris' voice shot out from the sewer entrance as John and Curtis sped up to escape their imminent doom. Curtis jumped down into the sewer as John slammed the manhole shut, it was now tightly secured in its place. After catching his breathe it was quickly lost from the stench of the rotting bodies and decaying corpses that filled the disgusting sewers. John hadn't had much time outside of the Safe Haven's he had grew up in, so the stench of the undead lodged inside his nose as he quickly covered his face with the inside of his elbow. He looked around to see they were at a T-like intersection, Chris and Curtis were slightly ahead of John, John caught sight of Daisuke running quickly down at the far end. A moment of silence grew over the three as they caught their breath.
"Where's..." John caught his breath. "...Where's he going?"

" I wouldn't worry about him, he looks like he can take care of himself...I hope." Chris shook his head, letting it turn to face the other two yet again. Shrugging somewhat as he brought his attention down both angles of the sewer that Daisuke didn't head towards. His attention returned to the two men after being unsure of where to head. " So which direction? Or should we just follow Daisuke?" ------ "Tch. What is it with people being so freakin' dependent? Do I look like some form of a babysitter?" Just then, there was the sound of a splash up ahead of him. Out came the USP as Daisuke aimed and flicked on the flashlight, the sewers had dimmed down in that direction. There was nothing, but something was moving from around the corner up ahead. It was moving fast, really fast. A loud screech echoed throughout the halls as it came into view. Its head was infected, a grotesque mutation that had been red bumps like a large cut was extremely infected. It went through to its left shoulder, and even down its back it seemed. It ceased its movement and looked towards Daisuke, then suddenly screeched as it took in his scent. "Shxt!" Daisuke shouted as he squeezed the trigger several times, the gunshots echoing down the sewer tunnels as several bullets went flying for it. It was avoiding the attacks by moving from side to side as it began running after him. Only one or two shots even hit the damned thing. Suddenly it was in his face, and Daisuke saw the claws coming to him but his body managed to find the adrenaline to jump back and barely miss. Daisuke turned tail and had no choice but to run as he could hear the thing screech in chase. ------ BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!The gunshots echoed and Chris held his gun up towards the shadows of where Daisuke had run. Then there had been an echoed scream of Daisuke followed by a distant screech behind it. His attention shifted back towards the others, then back to the shadows. "Something's coming!" Suddenly Daisuke emerged from the shadows and turned the corner, he said nothing but kept running. Then it emerged. Some horrible deformity of creation. And Chris unleashed his magazine and emptied it towards the creature as Daisuke had begun helping with what was left of his ammunition.

The monster nearly deafened John's eardrums as gunfire clouded his head as well. John aimed his SPAS 15 and emptied his entire clip in the monsters direction. It jumped left and right as debris was clawed off of the top of the sewers, the shells jumped through the muggy water beneath John's feet as he missed every shot. Curtis jumped back slightly then began to fire his Glock 19, but he missed every shot as well. John looked about to see every one firing while backing up, eventually Curtis was in front, John was behind him, and Chris and Daisuke were behind John. The monster lunged at Curtis and pounced him into the muggy water, his head was submerged as the monster went to disembowel him with its vicious claws and superhuman speed. John tried to reload his clip faster than ever but struggled and dropped the remainder of his shells into the water.
"Fu*k! Goddamn it!"
John flipped his SPAS 15 onto his back and retrieved his Type 05, the bullets sprayed into the monsters face as the casings shattered on its rock-hard head. This only enraged the monster more as it slammed it's claw into Curtis' face, killing him instantly, his skull cracking echoed throughout the elongated sewer pipes as John stood speechless. Daisuke and Chris stood behind him, they had better reaction time and less emontional ties; however, John wasn't as lucky, the realization that he had just failed his mission had struck him. His first chance to prove he was B.S.A.A. material and he had failed. The monster slowly retrieved it's claws from the sewage concrete then Curtis' now dismembered head. Chris and Daisuke knew that they had no choice but to run and they would easily leave John behind if he didn't snap out of it. Luckily, John snapped to reality, he knew that he had to survive now. It was like the whole world stopped for a moment as a meteor struck John, giving him the realization that in this world there is only one thing he had to do; Survive.
"...Let's go!!"
John turned to Chris and Daisuke and began to bolt away from the monster and Curtis' dead body; hopefully his corpse would buy them time to escape.

Daisuke took off running, Chris followed behind. The bioweapon was currently too occupied in slaughtering the B.S.A.A. member to even notice their departure. But by the time it did, they were long gone. As Daisuke led the group down the sewers, they came to the manhole that Daisuke entered from. And this showed the first actual sign of him willing to even remotely show any feeling towards them as partners.
"Up here, there's an eighteen wheeler with the keys in the ignition. It's a good ticket out of here to anyone who can drive it, otherwise we're on foot. Though the infection gets much thinner as we proceed towards the outskirts. Then again, the swarm of infected might actually be returning all over to search for food."
Chris looked up at the manhole, exhaling a gentle sigh of thought before looking down both ways of the sewer. It was much better to head up and into the daylight, but it was hard to know whether the infected were roaming the streets. Chris took it upon himself, without a word, to climb the steel ladder one rung at a time. He pushed open the manhole and peered out, absolute silence. There was the faint scratching and shuffling but the infected hadn't dispersed from the bank yet. Shoving the manhole up, Chris climbed up and looked down giving the 'OK' sign.
Daisuke nodded and climbed up the ladder, but much faster than Chris did and was out. He looked down to John and called out in a soft manner.
"Let's get going before that creature finds us again and makes it to the surface."
Friendliness was not one of Daisuke's favorite choices but it was all he could do for now. He brought it upon himself to help them because there was no more reason to let them die than there was to let himself die.

John, somewhat relieved by Daisuke's progressive friendliness, climbed up the ladder. Reaching the surface, he surveyed the area, the Zombies had still been in front of the bank; it appeared their luck had turned around. John followed Chris and Daisuke while still contemplating whether to tell them he could drive an 18 wheeler. They continued down the road until they came to the truck. They all shyly glanced at eachother, but they all knew they wanted someone to say they could drive the truck. John was still extremely petrified and disturbed from his near-death experience, but he summoned some courage to speak.
"I.. I can drive it."
They all looked at him with awkwardness and relief, they were happy they had a vehicle to escape with, but the driver was unstable. Daisuke and Chris exchanged looks as John waited for their acceptance.

It was impossible for himself to drive, the thing was too big and Daisuke would easily crash it. Chris never had any luck with driving anything bigger than a normal pickup due to the fact that those damn things were too slow for him. Finally when John spoke up, their heads shifted to look to him, then back to each other. They both shared the same wavelength of thought: Was it safe for someone who was so shaken up to drive? Finally Chris shrugged in a 'Let's just give it a shot.' sort of way. This unspoken and unmade alliance between the two was revealed but finally agreed on the decision. As they turned their heads to John, they spoke in unison.
"Get in the truck."
Daisuke climbed into the passenger side, but slipped between the seats and stood in the small gap between the back wall and the seats. Chris sat in the passenger seat and closed the door. It was gonna be a helluva bumpy ride in the process and they'd both been prepared as they waited on John to guide them out of the city alive.

"Get in the truck!"
The fact that they both accepted the idea came as a surprise to John but at the same time he felt somewhat of a relief instead of a burden to save all. They rushed to the truck as Daisuke and Chris headed around the right side, John jumped into the drivers seat. Daisuke and Chris got situated in the truck as John looked for the keys. He flipped down the sun visor as the keys dropped into his hands. John started the truck and much to the amazement of them all it had a full tank. The roar of the large truck echoed throughout the streets as it caught the attention of the undead. John shifted into gear and crushed he gas pedal as it slowly sped up. He drove forward until he hit an intersection, the horde of zombies would be there soon, John didn't know the exact path out of the city so he looked to his passengers for assistance.
"Which way!?"

"To the right!"
"To the left!"
Chris and Dai both looked at each other. They had said the opposite thing, shook their heads and tried at it again.
"To the left!"
"To the right!"
Once more they both said opposite things. They both began to argue for a moment, unclear of where to go. Daisuke wanted to go left because his car was situated in that direction, but Chris wanted to just find the quickest way out of there. They were shouting at each other, trying to come up with an agreement. Their argument was completely incoherent as they were all shouting at the same time. Both of them shouting directions at John but back at each other, fighting like brothers would.

All the commotion in the back was starting to irritate John, he was already an emotional wreck from watching his objective get eaten alive. John took a deep breathe, he didn't know the city but at this point he didn't care, he decided to shut out Daisuke and Chris' argument for their input was irrelevant to him. John hesitantly crept up to the intersection, it was a T-Intersection, he quickly looked left and then right. The streets were clear for the most part but something told him to go right; so he did. There was a destroyed building in front of him, about a mile and a half down the road, he saw no signs of danger so he proceeded without worry.
"Look out!!"
Chris' shout shattered the invisible wall John had put up to block them out. John's eyes quickly scanned the streets to see nothing. He looked back to Chris and Daisuke who stared back at him with white faces. Puzzled, he continued to scan the streets.
"What? What did you guys see?"
Just as he finished his sentence a loud clang echoed through the truck. The metal smashed in with every clang as whatever was on top of he truck made it's way to the front. The clangs stopped as smaller noises were made and then complete silence. John drove on as a deformed mutant, like the one they saw in the sewers, ran in front of the truck. John crushed the pedal in hopes to splatter the monster; however, just as the bumper was about to make contact the monster leaped into the air. Simultaneously the thing that was on top of the truck busted in through the roof, it clawed at the metal as Chris and Daisuke jumped back. John kept driving towards the dilapidated house, he could see open fields just beyond that so soon they would be out of the city, it was just a mere mile away. The monsters joined forces as they continued to claw at the metal.
