Consideration for safety had taken a bit of a back seat as Chrysil engrossed herself in the book for dealing with open cuts, her finger moved in time with the lines of text as she digested every little piece of information that could clarify the problem they were having with Rey's shoulder, "Hydrated Rotadendrin - no - styptic? - no," she scowled, "There's got to be something here that can explain festered wounds... there's your typical anti-bacteria but lead poisoning is another obstacle. So there's gotta be something to counter that. 'F'only it'd been a full metal jacket..." she put her hand to her head in agony; mental agony; the longer it took Chrys to figure this puzzle out the further Rey would slip into a problematic cardiac state.
The general store was fairly run out and a complete mess, "It'd be a treat if people could slow down when grabbing resources," the Journalist remarked picking up a knocked over shelf. It didn't take long to find the pre-paid phone pile, probably the only thing completely untouched in the store. Chrys snatched up a box and left for the room Amanda and Rey were in.
"Alrighty," Chrys chirped upon reentry, "There's yer phone Amanda. Usually enough credit in it for one call then bust; and the signal might be a bit shoddy, but otherwise fine. Now..." she stepped over to Rey, propping her up and sitting on the bed next to her. Good thing she was still asleep too meaning she wouldn't feel much when it came to cleaning her wound.
The wound was... grotesque. Skin peeled away with the bandage and was quite a pale green in pigment, "Wow. This might be more complex than I originally thought," Chrys commented; but strange things seemed afoot, veins were pushing out and eventually Chrys stumbled across the primary problem, "Amanda..." Chrys called quietly while still staring at the wound, "There are bite marks where the bullet wound originally was-" she choked on her words a little, her mouth becoming dry, "Like... human bite marks," she swallowed.

Amanda sat in the room, watching Chrys do her thing with Rey. The tension was thick, she didnt know if she should let Chrys know about the bite, or just play alone when she discovers it on her own. Either way, Rey was gone, she wasnt waking up the same girl as she was before. She would be another one of those things, and it would be all her fault. Amanda couldnt bare the thought of telling Joey, if she ever did find him. She was grateful for the phone, one call would be all she needed, for an emergency. There was really so much Chrys had done for her, had done for the both of them, no way she could ever repay her. But there was really only one last thing that Amanda had to ask of her. If she didnt do it soon, then things would turn even worse then what they are now. She couldnt just shoot Rey, and she couldnt let Chrys do it either.
With that, Amanda stood up from against the wall, and then walked over to Rey. She put her hand over the gun laying on the bed, with her finger on the trigger, and then spoke in a tone filled with sorrow and the jittery sound of confusion. "I think you should leave... I just wanna be left alone..." Amanda was beginning to cry, something she hadnt done in a long time. Not since her own parents was killed by the same infection that claimed Rey. It seemed that everybody she stayed around was dying, and she couldnt take it any long. Amanda was going to stay here with Rey until the very, however long it took. She got her into this mess, she was going to finish it. Now through tears, Amanda spoke to Chrys one last time before opening the door. "...I just want to be left alone, please..."

Amanda watched at Chrys left, and felt bad that it would have come down to this. She was a really nice girl, and hasnt done anything wrong. Probably got them out of more situations that anyone else Amanda has encountered in her travels. But this was for the better, this was something she had to do. Closing the door, Amanda jumped back up on the bed, and sat next to Rey. The handgun was still in her grasp, but she let it loose again on the bed, trembling her fingers around it do shake it off. Her mind knew that the right thing to do was shoot Rey, but Amanda just couldnt do that. No with the history they had together, there was no way it was happening even if she wanted it to.
"Come on Amanda, you have to shoot me... I want you to shoot me..." Amanda turned her head, and peeked through the tears in her eyes, staring at Rey. "I... I cant do that, Rey... I just cant..." It was true, it was the only solution. But that didnt help any. After everything they had been through, all the times they survived. It came to an end, an unfortunate end. She didnt want her best friend to die like this, she didnt want to to end like this, not ever. Amanda wiped the tears from her eye, and then looked back over at Rey, who was still sleeping down on the bed, motionless...

[Logan and Clarissa enter the hospital]
Clarissa frowned and had her arms crossed as they entered the hospital. The entire main lobby had been trashed, papers littering the bloodstained floors, smears of crimson all over the walls. There were also bodies that lied limp over the desk and some of the chairs. It was a creepy sight that even made Clarissa cringe.
As Logan had briskly stomped on through, obviously not stricken with grief as Clarissa had beem, the young girl had noticed a loud thump coming from the elevator doors up ahead. Another thump and she was positive what could be behind the doors.
Thanks to the back up generators all hospitals have, the little lights above and on the door panels had been lit up. Somehow the creatures behind the door hadn't found out which button would release them.
"So uh...why um, why did you need to come here anyway?" she asked Logan, trying to get her mind off of the creepy factor in the hospital.

When he entered the hospital, Logan saw the carnage wrecked upon the whole place. It was a disaster area, but it would be unavoidable to cross into the hallways of the first floor. He moved through, not really paying attention to the corpses, there wasnt much of them to look at anyways. Arms and legs missing, heads, even whole tops and bottoms. Not just infected roamed here, there was something else, most likely the repilian hunters. But they would be long gone by now. "Doing a friend a favor..." Logan could hear the moaning and pounding on the elevator door, but ignored it and went straight past the waiting hall and into the first floor emergency section.
Holding the shotgun up down the narrow hallway past, Logan could see a trail of blood leading into another wing, and under a door. He dreaded the worst, because the one he was searching for had been wounded. Moving forward, Logan kicked open the door, and saw the glimpse of an infected lung toward him. Shoving it away with the butt of the shotgun, he fired a round into the neck area, blowing a rough sever in the upper torso, and leaving the body decapitated. As the body fell, Logan saw Amanda standing down the hallway, holding her handgun loosely in her hand. "Logan, she didnt make it, its my fault..."
Logan ran for Amanda, but before he could get to her, she was pulled back inside the room in less than a second. "Amanda!" Now sprinting at full speed, Logan pivoted toward the door, and then bashed his way through. Amanda had crashed into him, falling to the floor with one of the infected on top of her. He grabbed the zombie from Amanda, and hurled it across the hallway, hitting a bench against the wall. Holding the shotgun toward the undead, Logan watched as a familier face glared up at him. It was Rey, Joeys daughter. He walked forward, waiting for the teenager to get to her feet, and then slowley stumble forward, arms outstretched. Logan aimed the gun at the head of Rey, ready to fire, but the shotgun was pushed out of his hands.
"Logan, no, you cant! We can save her!" Amanda was smashed in the face, screaming out in pain as a solid fist from Logan struck her nose. The girl fell onto the floor, bursting into tears, blood gushing onto the front of her shirt. She was trying to speak, but the blood in her mouth was preventing her from saying anything audible. Laying down the ground, she looked up and saw Logan aiming his revolver toward Rey, and pulling the trigger. "Noooooo!" The body fell to the floor motionless, and all Amanda could do was lay staring at her lifeless friend, her body shaking all over from fear and sadness.

Clarissa watched in horror as Logan had socked that girl, whom he called, "Amanda" in the face and then blast a hole in the undead's face. She quickly ran to the older girl's side and knelt down, trying to help her up.
"Logan, what the f**k?!" she yelled angrily, looking at the sobbing girl and then up at Logan who seemingly ignored her. She grumbled a bit then turned her attention onto the broken girl before her.
"Are you alright? Is your nose broken?" she asked, worriedly. Confused, Clarissa hadn't known what to think. Why the hell was he acting like that? The tension in the air had been so thick that it felt like the room was stuffy and hard to breath in.
A baffled Clarissa had helped the girl up and frowned.

Walking over to Reys body, Logan knelt down, and turned her over to face the ceiling. It was a hard thing to do, but had to be done. Joey isnt going to be too thrilled about it, either. Pulling his revolver away, he picked up the girl and slug her over his shoulder. He was ignoring Clarissas words, she had no idea what was going on, but graciously felt the need to jump in where she thought was nessicary. Looking at Amanda, Logan spoke out in a serious tone, raising his voice aloud. "Youd be stupid to think you could save her, she wouldve killed you if I havent showed up. And if you really cared about her, you wouldnt have let this happen... Dont even think about coming with me unless your willing to take some god damn responsibility, Amanda..." That being said, Logan carried Rey down the hallway, and into the lobby, where he left the hospital. [Logan now entering Starlight Road Residence]
Amanda was helped up to her feet by the girl, but she pushed herself against the wall, holding her nose in pain, and sobbing loudly. The other little girl had began to wipe the blood away form her face, but the pain in her nose had prevented her getting all of it. As the blood was wiped away from her cheek, a large bruise glowed, the evidence of a violent act. Amanda knew she deserved it, but right now, she didnt care about anything. she tried to make things better, but in turn just made things worse for everyone around her.

Clarissa had tried helping with the bloody mess as Logan had practically pinned everything on the other girl. She knew she had no clue what was going on, but that was just way harsh. Even for him. When Amanda kept crying into her hands, ignoring her wound, Clarissa patted her on the back.
She didn't realy know what to say and she doubted Logan wanted either of them with him. So she let him go off on his own. No sense in following if he'd inevitably attempt to hit her, of course she'd have a bullet in his head before she'd let that happen. Still though, it was bothering her to just let him walk away after doing that, for more reasons than one.
After another moment of ackwardness, Clarissa lead the girl over to a seat and got her to sit down to pull herself together. She rubbed the back of her head and sighed.
"I'm real sorry for your loss and for Logan's a**holeness. He's gone now though so...don't worry about him. Um and as for your friend, I'm sure it wasn't your fault, things like that happen, sadly," she said, trying to smile a little.
That wasn't helping any, so Clarissa groaned and reached into her backpack, shuffling things around before pulling out a bottle of water. She uncapped it and handed it to her.
"Here, this oughta make ya feel a little better," she offered.

Amanda looked at the girl with saddened eyes, moving her hair away from her face. Taking he bottle of water, she sipped it slowly, letting it slide down her throat. This was the first time she had fresh water. It might not have been the coldest, but it felt good to have something moistening her mouth, and spit out the blood with. She used a little bit with her sleeve to clean away all the red on her face, and then jerked her nose around lightly to feel how much pain it was in. It wasnt broken, only sprained, and a few days should fix it up completely. Laying the other half of the bottle on the ground beside her, Amanda looked at the little girl, and spoke out with less shock in her voice. "It is my fault..."
Standing up on her feet now, Amanda wiped away the tears, and recollected herself. It was probably the nicest thing anybody has done for her, to stand by her side and aid her, especially from a smaller girl even younger then herself. "Whats... Whats your name...?"

Clarissa flashed a smile and put her hands on her hips, Superman style. "I'm Clarissa er, well that's it. I don't recalle having a last name..." she said, thinking momentarily. Infact she didn't even know her dad's last name. She muttered to herself and looked around shiftyeyed before shrugging again.
"Anyways, your name's Amanda, isn't it? I heard that jerk call you that. I won't ask you any questions about anything, so um, when you're ready we can move on, if you don't mind my company that is," she told her.

It was a little odd, having the obviously young girl be the one helping her. Amanda was in her early twenties, didnt really need any help from anyone. Its not like she could just leave Clarissa here alone, but staying with Amanda would be a mistake, too. Nobody around her could be safe, she didnt deserve to have a partner. However, there was no sense thinking about it anymore, she would have to just deal with the situation and move on anyway she could. Amanda had soaked up what Clarissa said, but she didnt seemed to respond to it directly. She came up with her own question on the situation. "...How did you meet Logan? Do you know the whole group?"
This was her first instinct. Logan was always with Lisa, Lisa was always with Raine, and Raine was always with Joey. Amanda and Rey were always with Joey, too. Thats how they lived as long as they did. It didnt make sense for Clarissa to be tagging along with Logan and not know the group, unless she was picked up along the way to the hospital, which she seriously doubted. Logan wouldnt be able to stand five seconds talking to her, no offense, it was just the nature of the beast. But Clarissa was glad that Logan would even consider it, surely the little girl had to come to the hospital herself for whatever reason.

Clarissa frowned again and thought back, squinting an eye. "The whole gang as in, Logan, his sister, some guy named Joey, Some chick named Raine and Then a girl named Rey. Of course there's you," she said recalling their discussion previous to the hospital.
She had a very good memory so it wasn't too hard to remember the names listed. Shaking her head, she rolled up her right sleeve, exposing a large, nasty, scrape on her forearm. Skin had been missing, it was bloody and it looked painful.
"I don't know them, Logan just told me about them when he decided to escort me here since he was comin' here to find a friend. I'm assuming that was the infected girl and you. I'm here because I had a run in with a guy who doesn't like me or my dad. I fell out of some piping while tryin' to hide from him. The pains really bad actually, but I've popped so many pain killers in the passed day that I can't feel a thing," she explained.
Again, Clarissa had to think. Amanda had seemed quite baffled by Logan's actions so it was only obvious that he was definitely who he said he was, a loner. A selfish loner.
"Logan's not that bad. He coulda left me for dead, but he didn't. Just wish he wouldn't have just ditched us or hit you for no real reason. God, a good shake woulda been enough," she ranted, shaking her head.

"I'd say so," Chris stated from behind.
Chris had walked quietly into the room, having been waiting outside long enough for Logan to leave. The gunshot from earlier had surprised him, but not enough to investigate and he waited. Once again, he wanted to slug Logan in the gut just once, but instead had opted to let him go on his way. It wasn't worth the trouble anyway - punks like him wouldn't learn from anything, not even a bullet to the brain.
Once inside, Chris assessed the situation quickly and then looked to Clarissa, "Sorry I'm late. Another moment longer with that prick and I would have shot him in the groin." He then looked to the other girl in the room, then to the body, and back to Clarissa, "What happened in here?"

Amanda was a little jumpy as the man spoke out, and then entered the scene. He mustve been followig Logan and Clarissa earlier, the girl seemed to know him, even if just a little. But he didnt raise or gun or anything, just kind of shrugged it off, and came to the conclusion they had another person tagging along. When the man brought up the question about what happened, Clarissa quickly tried to jump in and change the subject, for Amandas sake, but Amanda spoke up. She couldnt just run from anything anymore, the only way she would be able to go on is to actually move on. "My friend, Rey. She was bitten, and... S-she... I had to deal with it..." There wouldnt be anymore questions, the man didnt need to know that Logan took the body with him, it was for other reasons that not even Clarissa needed to know.
Suddenly, there was movement coming from inside the room, and Amanda quickly aimed her gun forward, pushing the door opening. Seeing an infected climbing to his feet, she knew it was one of the zombies from before, and her eyes filled with anger. Aiming for the head, she pulled the trigger tightly, letting off a round into its head, closing her eyes as brain matter and chunks of scalp matted the wall behind. Opening her eyes, she saw it fall to the ground, and then spoke up to the small group. "We should get to another floor, or something..." Amanda did see the roughed up bit on Clarissas arm, but she didnt speak about getting it treated, she knew that already.
