Clarissa was unable to speak for awhile as Chris had made his scene once more. Amanda had explained a very short, obscure, summary of what had gone on, then left it at that when an infected rose little ways away. She didn't bat an eye when she shot it point blank in the face.
After suggesting a change of scenery, she nodded and smiled meekly at Chris. "Sorry about that, I wanted to kick him the nuts too, but ya know, he's five times bigger than me..." she muttered, cringing at the thought being easily stomped on by that behemoth of a man.
"Anyway, Chris this is Amanda, Amanda, Chris," she told them before walking toward the door. "And this is the way to go, to the second floor!" she yelled, raising a finger and marching out of the room to await the others.

Chris turned toward Amanda, allowing her to proceed in front of him toward the second floor as he brought up the rear. He kept a close eye on everything surrounding them as they made their way out of the room and also kept his ears open for any noises that would give away the position of an infected. However, nothing drew his attention and he walked onward. He never was the kind of guy to be the leader in a situation anyway, so following was no problem for him. It was just people like Logan that got on his nerves - Chris hated to be bossed around.
"Nice to meet you, Amanda," he said, "we should be safe once we reach the second floor. From my experience with them over the years, the undead have a lot of trouble climbing stairs. It takes them an eternity, so if anything we'll be alright once we clear the area from any that are hiding out up here."

It didnt take Amanda any time to realize that things were going to be looking up, even coming from such a bad situation. She was still very much upset about the whole thing happening, anybody would be, but there was nothing more she could do but move on. It was almost as if she was lost in a horrible nightmare that she couldnt wake up from, and the lucidity created a scenario in where nothing she could do would save anyone, no matter how hard she tried. Feeling her nose once again, Amanda knew that the pain was very much real, and this was no nightmare. She remained quiet with the group, the man seemed to know what he was doing, which gave her a good feeling. As for the girl, it was nice to see someone a little closer to her age still alive.
In the next few minutes, Amanda pulled out the cellphone given to her by a previous friend, and punched in several numbers. The phone rang a few times, as she raised it to her ear, and responded to the voice on the other end. "Joey, its Amanda. Logan was here, and he... Dont worry, he took Rey back his him... Im staying here at the hospital, something I have to take care of... Yeah, I will, dont worry... I know, I know, you dont have to remind me... Okay, stay safe, okay?... Yeah, alright, cya..." After hanging up the phone, Amanda took out the battery, and threw the rest of it away. No sense carryng it around if it was only good for one call, but no sense throwing away a perfectly charged battery. She didnt really wonder if the others were curious about who she was talking to, and just moved on with them to the second floor.

[Alex and Arc are now entering the 1st floor of the hospital]
Moments before...
It was nearly sunrise when Alex and Arc had finally made it toward the hospital. It put Alex a little more at ease since the sunlight had lit up the streets and partially the hospital parkinglot meaning that the building would have some light provided they didn't have any backup generators running.
The parkinglot was fairly empty, save for a few stray undead that shuffled randomly about in a nice little distance away. As they made it closer to the doors, Arc had stopped and knelt down, picking something up off the ground. When Alex glanced over at it, he could see it was a cellphone. A cellphone that had a lit up screen since Arc touched a button.
"It's all beat up and still workin? That's crazy," he commented before reality hit him lik a ton of bricks. He looked upwards to see if he could see anyone or anything, perhaps one of the survivors left it there to notify them that they were here.
"Ya think someone left that there purposely?" he asked.

Picking at a few of the buttons, he searched through the recent calls. One came in, while two went out, all thee were unknown numbers. Probably because of the outbreak, only emergency lines were set up for that reason. It was a disposable phone, so there was no more use for it anyways. "They probably just left it here on the ground, no way to charge it now... But it is possible it could belong to one of the survivors. Either way, lets head inside and search the place."
That being said, Arc moved inside of the Hospital through the front doors, with his SMG held forward. Checking over his shoulder to see Alex coming in after him, he noticed his arm wasnt as numb as it was before, and his vision was clearing up. Arc was still a little confused about why it was happening exactly, and what triggers it, but he knew that he didnt want anybody to find out it was happening. "Alright, we can do a sweep of this floor, then move onto the next and repeat. Or, we could see if the PA system if working, and try to get a message through to the hispital. Or... We could try and get the power running in this place, or at least the backup generators..."

Alex moved into the first floor of the hospital at a good pace, slightly jogging with his sidearm out. He listened to Arc's options and nodded, all of them made sense, but the most sense probably was to start the back-up generator that way they could either use the PA system and not get snuck up on in the dark. Although...
"Great idea, all of em, except for the small flaw. I don't f**k with fuses or s*** like that. So unless you know how, then we'll go with the backup generators so we can atleast be sure we don't walk into some trap," he said.
As he walked further in, there was a loud creaking noise. The ceiling had been heavily damaged and looked like it would fall anytime. With that noted came a large quaking. Alex and Arc both shot glances at eachother before grasping onto something for support as the walls shook.
Some medical items and cups on the counters had fallen over, breaking into pieces and other rolling around the floor before the moving finally stopped. Alex, uneasy about the situation, drew in a deep breath. He'd encountered this before, he was positive he knew what it was.
"Gulp worm. We need to move fast," he told Arc.

"There should be a backup generator are the first floor, it doesnt seem like a good idea to get to the basement right now with that thing around..." Arc has ran around to the side hallway, and burst through into the back waiting room. He was in this hospital before, but it wasnt on official business, so he didnt get a map of the place. However, he was nearly certain the generator was at the back, probably inside a storage room somewhere. Feeling another quake from above him, Arc grasped a piller, and shuffled along the wall until it stopped, then move back to full speed.
Looking at the sights above them, both Alex and Arc were going in the right direction, seeing a manually rigged cable running in the corner of the ceiling. But as both of them turned the corner, the floor erupted in dust and a loud screech could be heard rocking through the hallway. Stopping and spinning around to run the other way, the creature had resurfaced. This one looked to be a lot smaller than then others, so it wouldnt go very much damage to the hospital framework. However, it would do a good job getting through them, so Arc and Alex ran away as fast as they could. They could whip back around through the lobby, and maybe trick it into losing track of where they were. So long as they kept quiet, they should be safer.

Alex looked through the lit up floor, courtesy of the sunlight that peeked through the woodwork on the windows. As they moved through the first floor, he stopped when he heard multiple shuffled coming from ways away. He stopped little behind Arc, arching his neck around one of the halls to see more than two dozen corpses crowding around a locked door.
"Hey, look at that. Maybe the survivors locked themselves in there," he said to his old friend, fixing his eyes on the blood painted doors and floors. The smell was horrible and the flies that zipped around this specific scene had been annoying as hell.
Batting at them a bit, he figured they held up this long that they could make enough time to get the generators started and return for them, that way it'd be safer for both groups.
"Alright, let's find that generator," he told him.

Holding his gun down the hallway, they would have to avoid that section, as there was too many infected. They wouldnt be able to kill all of them, and if they did, it would be a waste of what little ammo they had. With his back to the wall, he peeked around quickly once again, but them rolled himself around and backed against the paralelle wall, none of the infected saw him. Knowing that Alex would get across the same, Arc move on down the hallway, following the cable along the ceiling. Finally, he saw that it ran into a doorway through a smaller hole. This was definitly manmade, probably by other survivors. Whoever did it certainly knew what they were doing.
Opening the door, Arc waited for Alex to get inside before shutting it over. The sunlight got through the windows here, too, creating enough work brightness to work on the generator. Seeing as the control box was already open, he looked at it with his LED flashlight closer, searching for how the power was being supplied manually from the cable. Turns out it was just a simple cercuit break, and would just need to be reattached to work. However, this would only get the emergency lights back on, the PA system, and possibly the elevator. Its not like they needed any of the larger equipment, so the backup power could be used for all the smaller things in the hospital. Using his leather gloves to prevent any shock, Arc attached the wires, and it sparked in his face several times. But, the lights came back on, and he flicked off the LED light on his gun. "Well, it looks like somebody cut the power for a reason..."

There were loud screeched that emitted throughout the generator room, dozens and dozens of beedy, red eyes opened up from the ceiling and those damned, giant, bats came swooping down. Alex batted them away easily and winced, chuckling as the flocks pecked and flew into their faces before fluttering outside the doors.
"Maybe that's why," he joked before noticing the raunchy smell coming from the corner of the room. When he walked around some of the shelves of tools, he'd seen a pair of legs. Upon further inspection, there'd been a few bats atop of a male doctor's corpse, eating away at him. These bats were different from the ones that housed themselves in the room.
They were larger, their teeth were bigger and their wings were as big as their heads. Most notably, their eyes weren't sensitive to the light. Moving back a little, Alex grimaced. "Never seen those before...but if they're that big, God knows how many more are here. Jeez, let's just hope these aren't just bat babies, cause mama bat ain't gonna be happy if she finds us," he told Arc a little above a whisper.

As the lights came on, Arc had saw the larger creature too. He wasnt laughing at Alex's joke. Not wasnt the time, but most of all, he was going to jinx them. "Yeah yeah, just keep shooting!" The both of them had began to unload rounds into the beast, all the while mocing out of the room through the doorway. Arc could hear the bat behind them, as she looked at Alex, bobbing his head down. The both of them quickly dropped to the ground on their chest, and then got up and ran the other way, firing more rounds off. They couldnt just keep doing this, it wasnt going down that easily. "We need to move upstairs, try to block it somehow." Arc spoke in between huffs and puffs of breath.

Alex took a couple of shots at the fluttering bats, not really wanting to waste ammo on aerial targets that moved faster than you could pull the trigger of your weapon. He and Arc moved away as the larger bat had screeched, spreading it's long, fleshy wings out. They had to be as long as their legs. Perhaps larger and longer than even that. It's mouth stretched open wider and it took flight, swooping at Arc as he fled.
Alex reached a hand out toward his partner. "Duck!"
Arc leapt down, covering his head with both arms, the bat missing him by mere inches. It swirved around, gliding among the smaller bats before spiraling down at Alex, it's standing target.
Alex grunted and rolled out of the way, onto his feet and taking three shtos at it, nailing it in the body twice and once in the wings, blood gushed from it's wounds but it wasn't slowing down, didn't even seemed phased.
Somewhere in the hospital there was a blood curdling cry, that of something inhuman, maybe it was the mama bat, Alex wasn't prepared to find out. "f**k this," he muttered, following Arc out of the generator room. When they thought the closed door would hold it off, they were sadly mistaken when it burst through the door with no real effort, given chase to it's prey as dozens of the smaller bats had flew around it after the duo as well.

Arc heard the screech as well, and got a little less confident this would be something they could run from. But as they paced themselves, both him and Alex sprinted down the hallway on the first floor, when he heard the bats chasing after them from behind. Arc didnt want to look back, but curiousity got the best of him. There was at least ten of the smaller ones, and one of the larger ones in quick persuit. They were easily catching up, but turning a corner had bought them enough time to think of something as the ran. "We cant keep running like this, its not going to give up!"
Just as he spoke, Arc felt the larger bat get closer and closer behind them. But he had an idea, but was reckless, but someone had to take the chance. Stopping without a warning, Arc whipped around, and jumped forward at the bat, tackling it to the ground with his knife. He stabbed it several times in row, close as he could get to its heart, twisting violently. He was banking on Alex to at least cover him by picking off the smaller bats that dove straight.

While Arc had pummelled the larger bat with his knife, the smaller rodents had been darting at him, Alex took the oppertunity to start picking them off with ease since they were in one place, trying to bite at Arc. When it came down to a smaller group, he ran up to the upstart and batted them away, slapping onee across the room, elbowing another into a nearby wall.
When the enemy Arc dealt with had finally died, Arc stood up, panting a bit and wiping the blood off his knfie on the back of his leg. Alex sighed inwardly and shook his head, chuckling.
"You have to admit, that was by far the most humiliating scenario yet."

In the mist of attacking the bat, Arc heard gunshot above his head. Jake was hitting them each time, without any miss or hesitation. He was a great addition to have as a partner, sure helped him out even though he put his own life on the spot. While stabbing the bat, Arc slit its throat now that he could get a good angle, nearly cutting off its head with his large knife. After the episode, it fell to the ground, finally dead and not rising again for more.
Arc listened to Jakes comment, and grinned himself. But thats when he discovered something truly even more horrifying then anything he had seen in the outbreak. As the sprinklers went off, and water rushed down on top of both of them. It was a little hard to explain, but there was a burning sensation in his arm when the water soaked his sleeve, almost as if it was causing a reaction. Holding his arm, his bicep, Arc jerked out in pain, but changed his flow of energy toward something else. "Argh! He have to get to the roof, or my equipment is gonna get soaked!"
