"well where would i look now?" asked Robert to himself when he heard a commotion coming from the door leading to the back of the bar. Then he heard the loud bark of several dogs. Reloading the shotgun while rushing back toward the room he has secured for his time in the city. just as he rounded the corner the his room, a hound leap into the wall next to him barely missing his right shoulder. Three shots quicker then he thought he was capable of torn the beasts shoulder from its body and left it twitching on the floor and he heard nails on the tile floors speeding his way. Robert Reached the door and slammed it shut just before the next beast slammed into it. securing the dresser against the door he heard more hounds join the assault.
Reloading the shotgun, Robert rested his body on the bed and took out a piece of his venison jerky and kept a eye on the door. while his thought went back to the first day he say a zombie creep up the hill to his summer cabin on the lake in Michigan. The thing that made Robert special in his father's eyes is that he at the age of 10 was ready to shot the zombies easy but when he saw the first dog mutant creature it looked as if Robert soul had cried! "Animals didn't deserve this!" as tears ran down his face one more time.
Drifting off to sleep, hoping that the dogs will lose interest or get distracted by something else. thinking that today was very hostile and dangerous, but at least hes ready for it this time around.

[Entering from Raccoon City Airport]
Lilly gunned the engine again, lifting the front of the Titan up and smashing into the shambling zombie that happened to be in her way. Its head hit off the grill and was crushed inward. Brains flew everywhere and the body was flung to the side, now in two pieces. Lilly felt a slight bump as its head was crushed under the wheel and she kept going.
To say the street was littered was an understatement and it was all Lilly could do not to get the Titan stuck on some burned out hulk of a car or a broken down barricade.
The zombies in this are were not overwhelming, though they did turn toward the noise of the Titan and tried to attack. Up until now, she had smashed and ran over 10 of them. She was careful not to let them get on the vehicle and those that she ran over, she left... no checking to see if they were dead.
Up ahead the Apple Inn came into view. It was an older building, and only 4 stories tall, with the lower level windows all boarded up and barricaded. She spied the Inn's parking lot and pulled the Titan in with a swift jerk of the wheel. She drove past the doors and then slammed the brakes. The vehicle lurched to a stop and she quickly flipped it into reverse and gunned it again. Then she back into the exit doors. They were already beaten and battered it only took one good push to get them open. She backed up again, forcing the Titan deeper into the Inn. When she had the vehicle where she wanted it, she put it in park and shut it down, crawling over the front back seat to the area of storage at the rear. She laid down and held her AR-15 in her hands.
At first it was quiet, but soon she heard the scratching of fingernails and the moaning of zombies on the outside of the vehicle. She wasn't worried about her safety. This truck could take on even a grenade blast and still not be damaged. All they did was stall her from entering the Inn. If they didn't realize she was in there, they would eventually wander away. Safe in the back, Lilly opened up one of the ration kits and pulled out a protein bar and a bottle of water. It wasn't the greatest snack, but Lilly was hunger and it hadn't grown stale.
While she waited, she continued to think about that last transaction that her sister's credit card had been for. Why were they all the way out here in flippin' Raccoon City. Anywhere would have been safer. Here plan was simple... get inside the Inn, look around, kill anything that attacked her... find her family and get them the hell out of here.
Now she just had to work out not getting killed.
It seemed like eternity, but it was only an hour later when the moaning died off and the scratching stopped. Holding up a mirror she slowly moved it around slowly to view out the window of the armored transport. There was nothing nearby and the reinforced mesh screen on the vehicle meant that nothing could see her from a distance. She slowly sat up and then looked out the windows.
She could see some of the zombies and they were wandering around the parking lot and away from the truck. She looked at the back doors. They should open right into the Inn and allow her to enter the building without risk of the zombies getting to her.
Cautiously she reached into the front seat and grabbed "Super Shorty". Tucking it on her belt, she strapped on a backpack of the spare ammo and then holstered her sidearm. Next she slung the strap of her AR-15 around her neck and shoulder and pulled it up to her face, sighting down the barrel. Then she opened the back door and tensely pushed them open.
Nothing jumped out at her.
She quietly exited the truck and sunk down to look underneath. It was a tall vehicle with high clearance and she was worried that they could crawl through. As luck would have it, the metal doors that she had backed into were bent and twisted against the bumper of the Titan, effectlvely blocking it off. Secure in the fact that she knew they couldn't enter, she slowly made her way down the hallway. She had to round a few corners and made it to the foyer. The front desk was to her right and the stairs were to her left. Creeping over to the front desk, she looked for a book for guest to sign in with.
No Dice...
Lilly should have expected it. Nowadays it was all electronic. She would have to get power to this computer to see who and where her family stayed. She pulled the computer out of its hole and disconnected all the wires and cables. Then she gathered up the keyboard, the mouse, and CPU and carried it back to the Titan. If she couldn't find her family here, then she could use the power supply in the truck to get the computer on to find where they might have been going.
It was alwasy worth a try.
Before she left the vehicle, she locked it up and pocketed the keys. She knew there was danger to locking it, but there was also danger to leaving it open and it not being there when she returned.
Then she began to search Inn. As she neared one corner, she heard the sound of howling and manic scratching. Something... or someone was trying to get in or out of something. Nudging her head around the corner, she could see 5 hounds that had been infected, clawing at a door. Obviously, there was a meal behind that door... which usually meant, someone was alive.
Better get the drop on them now, instead of when they sense me, thought Lilly. She raised her AR-15 to her shoulder and aimed at the far left animal. She would sweep across the formation, trying to get a headshot on them all, but settling for disabling them as well.
Closing her left eye, she sighted in and pulled the trigger. A bang and recoil happened and she saw the first dog's head explode, downing him. She couldn't wait and fired at the second dog. It too went down.
About that time, the remaning 3 dogs realized a meal was behind them and charged at her. It was hard to get a shot off with them running... their heads bobblying up and down. She let the rifle fall in its sling and grabbed Super Shorty. It was already loaded with shells.
As they closed, she pulled the trigger and blasted the third dog back to the gates of hell. The forth dog caught the blast full in its chest. While enough to knock it out of the fight, it didn't kill it. It tried to crawl along, jaws snapping.
The last do was so close that Lilly could smell the stench of rot and decay on it. She pumped the next round and held it out. Just as the dog's nose touched the barrel, the gun went off, blasting the dog's brains backwards for about 10 feet. It fell limp to the ground. Chambering the last shell, Lilly approached the disabled dog, who was trying to snap at her.
"Sorry, Fluffy." she said as she pulled the trigger. The dog's head blasted apart and its brains were shred to pieces. If fell limp.
Quickly, Lilly chambered 4 more rounds into the shotgun and put it back on her belt. Her hands felt to the AR-15 and she armed herself with that again.
Cautiously, she approached the door and knocked on it. "Anyone there?", she called out.
She did this for two reasons. First, if there was a zombie behind that door, it was cause them to charge the door. The moan and scratching would alert her to that fact.
Second, if anyone alive was in there, they were probably armed and by talking, they would know that she was alive and not some walker with a gun.

Startled, Robert heard the sound, like something just ran into the building. This sound alerted the dogs back to their manic scratches and howls and it sounds like more joined in. After several moments of just silence, and infected hounds waiting to break the door down. " i'm gonna have to reinforce this door, if i'm gonna use this as a good base." whispering to himself he lays his head back onto the pillow.
Several minutes later, what feels like an eternity when all you hear is dogs trying to get their next meal, then he heard it the rifle blast then another and then shotgun blasts. the thoughts hit him like a blast of water, everything from that could be dad shooting that quick to bandits wanting supplies and already took his rx-7.
Then came the knock and the voice, Robert heard the voice but was so happy to hear it he didnt even register what it said. The voice was so pleasant and feminine that it put him in a state of shock.
slowly going to the door he replies " never heard such good shooting from a girl before?! be you Friend or Foe?" knowing that Foe will never tell you but hoping for a introduction before letting someone in his temporary shelter! while moving the dresser.

Lilly laughed a bit. "Training helps and me being a friend or foe depends on you being a friend or foe. I'm a police officer. My name is Lilly. Who are you?"
Lilly didn't open the door. If she tried to force her way in, he might shoot her. Instead, she just kept her eye on the corridor to make sure nothing came running down the hall at them.
She had a flicker of hope that maybe he would have seen his sister and family. "How long have you been here?"

(Andrew Is entering the Apple Inn. Thought I could join in and make things interesting)
Andrew was back to the same "god forsaking" city, once again. without a military group to pay him, none of the countries begged for him either, Killing dead people would have to be the only thing he could do at the time, that and what else remain of Umbrella. Until then, he did what he could do since his long years as a SWAT Officer in Philadelphia. Listen. There Sitting on the benches, listen to the song of the dead, moaning and groaning. It was some goddamn joke for some people seeing the city back to being infected once again, not caused by Umbrella, but still, there damn fault. But it was great too see that things were still the same...or at least they were the same after 1998. One hole new world.
His metalic mask raised up made a nice shade over his face. his armor, well padded and comfortablly eased him. Sitting in front of the Apple Inn? Why? The Hotel was more of a get you're self off with a hooker type joint from the way he could tell, but from what he heard about from the few that had been in the hotel, had nice customer service, was even renovated back when Raccoon was recontrutced from the bombing of the military trying to despose of the threat. Now look at it. It was reliving the same old horror over again. Without giving any chance to think about what he could do, Andrew decided that it was best to check the place out. He fliped his face mask down, the mask he had made that he painted and detailed himself for the soldier of fortune, It was a demonic skull with blood running down the eyes as to be weeping tears of blood. He walked across the street and open the door, shutting it behind him. He walked into the main lobby, looking for signs of life or nonlife, or worse yet, mutents. "Hello?" He called out loud enough. He grasped his P90 lightly looking around the room with so much alertness in his eyes and walked some more around the room. Listening.

(OOC - I'm cool with you joining. Twobit is running the mission. We are searching for his dad)
Lilly heard another voice call from the front. It seemed that more people were converging on the Inn. She didn't call out immediately. Dealing with the strangers one at a time was better than going up against a group of them.
"Hey come on, you going to open the door? A lady could feel rejected out here."

A police officer... haven't seen one of those since i left vegas in search of dad, the thought came quick and left even quicker as Robert opened the door to the room. "Friend, or more depend...." he began to say as he looked at the beautiful blonde that stood in front of him. As always his inner voice told him now was not the time for a perverted joke.
as she entered he reached out his free hand and introduced himself "Robert Matthews at your service, but most just call me Twobit!" "hows it looking outside?" asking before she even had a chance to respond. "did you see my RX-7 out there still?"

Andrew walked the empty halls of the Inn. If anyone was going to be in here, they be in a room locked or just listening. He walked towards a door and kicked it in, raising his submachine gun in a quick aim. As he expected: only a body eaten by some kind of lizard like creature, it stood about the same height as him, looked like a frog on two's with long claws as weapons. Then again, it's mouth was wide enough to swallow a human hole. "What in god's twisted world are you?" as Andrew spoke, the creature swallowed the hole thing down then looked at him with a growl. "ooook..." the creature charged at him, before it could react, Andrew pulled the trigger to the P90 putting a half a clip into the monster's chest. It started to bleed badly but it stood weak and helpless. He walked over and kicked it hard enough that it happen to fly out the window and landed on a car. with a loud metalic thud to it. Andrew walked over to the window and looked over, it had landed on a lovely RX-7. It was a shame, It she was a thing of beaty...until it dented the hood. "Damn..." he said in a musement. Whoever owned the car though was sure enough dead like the city.

Lilly shook Twobit's hand. She wondered about his nickname, but figured she'd aske when it was safer. Right now, they needed to find her sister... and check with the person who was calling.
"Twobit, how long have you been here? And how many other survivors are here?"
She was holding out hope that maybe somewhere upstairs more survivors were huddled and waiting. She was about to mention going up there when the report of submachine gun fire drew her attention to downstairs. Whoever was down there was either in trouble or causing it. Instinctively, she turned her AR-15 back dwn the hallway, looking for something.... anything.
"Hey Two, do you have any weapons?"
She didn't know if she would feel better if he said yes or if he said no. Right now, her truck was looking pretty good right about now.
"I noticed the car out there and it still seemed intact, but I don't know if that is the best ride for this area." It had taken her careful driving of the Titan to get here and it was designed for rough roads.

Feeling a bit under equipped next to this police officer with her 3 guns. Robert lifted his Remington 1100 semi automatic currently only having buckshot loaded. " I've been here for only about a day, I've cleared a couple of rooms, but i need to search some more."
glancing nervously down the hall while Lilly looked down the stairs. " we should prolly check that gun fire out, sounds like military, a quick rate of fire."
following Lilly down the stairs while closing the door and hoping it'd be easy to get back to it. Robert instinctively reached into his pocket and drew a piece of jerky to chew on. Twobit always does his best shooting while eating jerky. the piece was small enough that he made no sound as he slowly chewed the sweet Delicious teriyaki smoked venison jerky. whispering "i could go for a teriyaki chicken enchilada right now!"

Andrew seach the room a for a bit and after going threw some drewer and closets, all he found was adultery itams that would make you think but he found his personal favorite brand of smokes. Newport 100s. He flipped his mask up, and reached into his pockets for his zippo as he open to check how many smoke were left, still about fifth-teen cancer sticks. He kicked the rest of the pornogaphy off the blood stained bed and seem to be an arm off as well, Andrew lit his cigarette and took a pull off it. He exhailed the smoke from his nose and remembered a time when he actualy had to sit down with no violence around him and enjoyed a smoke. the rest of the smokes he had back in the labor prision in Brazil, he sold to make a bit of money to get from here to the United States. Almost a month to get back to were he beloned and now his search for the Union of Patriots would be gun. For all he knew he was dead. so until then he was going to find out sooner or later.

Lilly neared a room where she heard someone rummaging around inside. She paused, not wanting to spook the person, but not wanting to walk into an ambush or a mass of zombies. She backed away from the door, enough that the person inside couldn't tell how far down the hallway she was and then she motioned for Richard to get against the adjacent wall.
"Marco", she called out. It was just one syllable and not enough for anyone to get her position, but enough for the person inside to hear her and to know that she wasn't a zombie. If they responded with "Polo", then they weren't a zombie. That didn't mean they were a friend... just not a zombie that had to be put down. If they didn't respond, she'd try again. If they didn't respond to several of them, then she'd go in shooting.
As the seconds ticked by, it seemed the whole world waited for the response. Lilly flicked her AR-15 over from semi automatic to full auto and readied herself. She would have rather heard a shotgun blast compared to an automatic machine gun.
"Marco."

Andrew paused...He heard something in the hallway. He pointed his P90 at the door way and finished his cigarette flicking the left overs out the window and flip down his Metalic mask down.
"Marco" A solf female voice said.
Andrew new this tactic. It was a Call sign Challange, the Obvious of it was that someone had to either say 'Polo'. If they didn't say anything or said a different word. Bad news. Andrew held his breath for several minutes.
"...Marco..." She said again.
"Polo" He said calmly, still pointed at the door. The female sounded like she could be at least lated 20s or mid 30s. Wrather this person was a military or a looter as long as there wasn't no sign of a theat or doesn't look like a threat, Andrew would lower his gun and greet. He patiently waited for the person walk through.

"Polo" came the answer back. It was calm, not the frightened voice that she was used to hearing. That meant that either this person was a veteran with dealing zombies. She motioned for Twobit to hang back. Then she slowly crept to the door.
"I'm going to step into the door, slowly. I won't point my weapon at you if you don't yours at me."
Slowly, hoping against hope that she was right, Lilly stepped into the doorway. Her hands were on her AR-15 and she fought the urge to bring it up.
The person in front of her... who she assumed was a man due to his voice was more of a suit than anything. He wore a metal helmet that had a facemask and wore a coat. More importantly he had a P90 in his hands, that fortunately was not pointed at her.
She loosened her stance and motioned for Twobit to join her.
"I'm Lilly a police officer. I'm just here looking for my family and this is Twobit."

His yes laid on the Blonde police offier and the other guy with the nick name. He wasn't sure if they could see his eyes shift from the Police girl and the Civilian. He sighed. "An officer to an officer..." He said to Lilly. It more easier to know the girl was a police officer. "I'm Andrew Jones. I was SWAT. I'm a Mercinary for several years." He didn't take his mask off for some reason. "I'm not being paid to kill anyone if that makes things any easier to know" he said. He finally flipped his mask up, revealing his face. He extended his hand out to shake Lilly's hand. "I take it Lilly is short for Lilith, I Asume. And erm...Twabit, was it?" He asked knowing he mangled his name up in curectly.
