"That might be true, but trust me, im not scared of those infected. I was just never put into a situation where I needed to handle myself. I was always with a large group when on the outside of the walls, or even here in Raccoon City. Other than that, I was piloting the chopper, an im very good at that..." Louis listened to Hal, and nodded his head in response that he understood. But rushing his sentence a little, when he mentioned the helicopter, Louis quickly spoke out. "I suppose I should tell you where the lab is, huh? Its in the Arklay Mountains, or at least not far up from the edge. Its similar to that mansion they talked about back in 1998, you know the one. Its a front for the lab, only this one is fronted as a small residence. Not a clue about the security, but im sure if you were in the sky, youd find it easy. Not even two miles from the eastern highway, not far from the dam."
As Hal plot out the location in his head, he had a good idea about where it was "Well, youll be able to point it out once were in the air." But Louis knew that wasnt going to happen, he had other intentions, and none involved him leaving the city. Putting away his M93R, he zipped up his coat, and then spoke out in a mysterious tone. "Not gonna be around for much longer, I have somewhere I gotta be. As for Allison, you keep an eye on her. If you dont find trouble, troubles gonna find you..." With that, Louis left the area, and then moved down the stairs. Slipping out the back way, as to make sure not to be seen by anybody, he opened up the backdoor of the clock tower, and ran off into the pouring rain. [Louis leaves the area]
Just than, Arc had shown up just moment after Louis stepped out, and Hal didnt know if he should mention him leaving or not. "Power switch is up somewhere, didnt see it, did you?" Before Hal could even mention anything about the man leaving, Arc was in a rush to get the power on. He knew that they would need a generator in order to even attempt getting it back on, but Arc was smart enough to know that, so maybe he already found one. "Yeah, its just over here... Wheres the generator?" Rushing over to where Hal point, Arc brushed his hand around, and finally found the switch for the basement power. Thats all he needed to get the door open, or at least potentially get the door open. "Just follow me, were not alone in here."
Following his lead, Hal made his way down the stairs, just seeing the front door close out of the corner of his eye. But it was Katy and Amelia just coming back inside. "Hey, come over here, Arc found more survivors!" As he made sure the two follow him now, Hal moved to the back of the clock tower, and finally at the end of a long narrow hallway, he seen Arc banging on a steel door. "Powers on now, you can open up..." Waiting for somebody to respond on the other side, be it a male or a female voice, he patiently stood with his hand over his knife sheath, just in case. "Are you sure iz safe out zere? I woundnt want anymore of zem getting inside and ruining my progress..." The strange, German voice spoke out from behind the door.

As Katy and Amelia entered the lobby, Hal got their attention. They perked up and obeyed, surprised that even more survivors showed up in such a short time. They followed Hal down the hallway, and Katy inquired, "He found more survivors INSIDE of the building?".
Allison heard the commotion and immediately climbed out of her make-shift bedding and stood up. She loaded one of the magazines into her newly found AKS-74u and slung it over her shoulder, then placed the revolver back into its holster on her lower back. She jogged out into the lobby and looked around. She noticed Katy, Hal, and Amelia making their way down the hallway and she jogged after them. Once she caught up to them, she noticed Arc at the end of the hallway. It became clear of Louis' absence.
"What's going on?" she asked the group. "More survivors, huh? Where'd Louis head off to?" she asked.

"He said he had something to do..." But before anything more could be said, the creepy voice on the other side of the door spoke out again, this time seemingly to somebody else. "Zeres more of you out zere? Ze weazer outside must be getting more clear, I couldnt hear any of you bef- Christina, what are you looking at? I told you to stay still! Oh, zat beeping, ze recordings almost over, sh*t. Mustve forgot to turn it off... Oh well!" By this time, Arc had banging on the door with his strength. Though not able to get it open, no matter how strong he was, the door shook as he yelled out in frustration. "Open the door, now!" As the room went quiet, Arc didnt know exactly what to do. It couldnt be opened from this side, only from the other side, and for whatever reason, the man wasnt opening it up.
"Sorry about zat, let me open ze door now..." For the next fifteen seconds, nobody made a sound. The only sound that could be heard were the faint tones of a dial being pecked at, seemingly a code was being entered or something. The small group had instinctively readied themselves, Arc with his hand on his knife, Allison with his assault rifle raised, Amelia with her pistol, and Katy with her gun as well. In almost and instant, the large metal door shifted upward, a grinding sound emitting into the hallway and echoing off into the main lobby. As soon as it was fully open, the lights inside the room turned off, creating a darkness that covered now. But out stepped a man with his hands on his hips. As the dim lights came back on, he spoke. "Ze lights flicker every once in awhile, damn ze lightning outside.... Oh well! Allow me to introduce myself... I am Doctor Shplain Der Kerhaussienvossen."

With her AK still raised, "That's a mouthful," Allison spat snidely.
Katy was the first to lower her weapon. Amelia lowered hers next, letting go of her MP9's foregrip, then lowering it to her side with her right hand. Allison was still skeptical, however, and continued aiming her assault rifle from her shoulder, though not aiming down sight. The lights flickered a few times and the man was fully illuminated for a moment. Amelia and Katy immediately raised their weapons again at the sight of the man's attire.
"You're joking, right?" Allison asked, staring at the man's blood-soaked labcoat. She fixed her eyes upon an Umbrella logo on the coat's breast pocket that could barely be seen through the blood. "Umbrella, huh? You're just one big walking stereotype, aren't ya?" she commented, making reference to the fact that he was a German scientist working for a more or less 'evil' company.
Amelia managed to mutter out "What the hell..." under her breath, whereas Katy let out a chuckle at Allison's joke.

Arc was seconds away from rushing forward and impaling the knife into the mans chest, but as he drew it from his sheath, the man spoke out once again. "Verking for Umbrella? Nooo, no no no no no no no NO!... That corporation exists no more, I swear to you. I did verk for them at one point. Well, most of my life, I should say, but those are merely old body parts on a new wagon, you could say. Youve no reason to keel me, and I doubt I would give you one. Im still working, experimenting on old test subjects, yes. But its all got a greater cause, im on a breakthrough for a cure! Yes, a cure! Just look, look, look at this here! Look at her! Christina!"
As the man turned around and moved into the room further, quite confident that he wouldnt get a bullet to the back of his head, Shplain shined a spotlight onto the table where he was working on a corpse. Only it wasnt a dead one, nor exactly was it one of those zombies from close examination. Sticking out from the blanket had been a female, topless, and with obvious skin deteriorization. However, her arms were not held down, and she hadnt been attacking anybody. "Zees is test subject 934, Christina. She is no longer among ze living, nor ze dead, nor ze living dead, hah! Shes cant speak, cant function from ze neck down. But moving her head, she can follow my movement! Look!" Waving his arm up and down the top of the table, the girl laying down was looking at it back and forth, just watching intently.
Looking at the girl, Hal didnt really know what to make of it. He himself was a man of science, and he couldnt piece together exactly what he was accomplishing here, exactly. But after a few moments, he spoke out, clearly interested. "A cure? I didnt even think that was possible... But I wouldnt say your close, Doctor, clearly, uh, Christina here is still not well..." Shplain shook his head, and then looked at the others, motioning for them to gather around. Not really caring if they did or not, he look out a small injection of clear substance, and then stuck it gracefully into Christinas neck. The girls eyes closed, yet still not vocal sounds or movement. Ripping the blanket from the rest of her body, Hal could see that she was missing anything below her stomach, and quickly turned away to vomit in the hallway.
"Not a cure to turn zem back into ze living, but a cure to make sure that they do not turn at all... As you could see, Christina was my patient, and she had a little... Accident... But when I gave her my cure, she did not turn into one of zem. What I injected into her as of now, however, should give her back function to her arms and torso... Breakthrough, yeah?" But as the girl Christina began to move, she growled out in a high pitch, alerting the group that she was merely just another infected now. The color in her eyes changed to a dead yellow, and quickly she jumped from the tabled and scurried along the floor toward the group. "Shes getting away! Dont let her loose!"

Katy and Amelia watched in horror as the scene played out, Allison seemed unphased. When the girl jumped off the table, Katy and Amelia were horrified further, whearas Allison started laughing.
"What do you want us to do? Shoot it or catch it?" she said through laughter.
Allison walked further into the room and aimed her AK at the creature as it began scurrying away.

As the creature jumped off the table, it moved toward Allison, but then as it seen the gun aimed at it, it than retreated. Obviously, it still had a mind, one that was pretty smart still. Arc was a little nervous, almost to the point where he was going to just step on its head, end it before it could attack anybody. But seeing as it wasnt so much a threat, he bolted forward and than grabbed it by the neck, lifting it into the air. Shplain was obviously a little displeased with this, but he was reassuring. "Put her down, please! Christina? Play nice with ze usser children, please!" Actually following the doctors orders, Arc put the girl down, and she crawls away back towards the doctor, laying on her side at his feet. Is disgusting as it was, this was something incredible. It actually followed commands, or at least from the doctor. Arc didnt trust the guy very much, but he wasnt in the position to do anything stupid anyways, so things were fine.
Hal peeked into the room with wide eyes, he couldnt believe what he was looking at. Still, he tried to keep his eyes away from the horrific site, but somehow couldnt even manage to keep them off for a second. He was too intrigued himself by the creation, but more important, who the doctor really was. It seemed more than plausible that he did in fact used to work for Umbrella, and quite possible even managed to create some things even the BSAA wasnt even aware of. This whole meeting had been a little unorthedox, but at least there wasnt any violence, or cause for concern. "Christina, I have to put you to sleep now, your scaring our friends. You can play outside tomorrow when the rain stops, I promise." The monster had climbed back on top of the table, and lay still wile Shplain injected another needle into her, which than put her into a state where you couldnt she was up and moving to begin with.
Looking at the doctor, Arc was a little surprised, a little angered, but a little satisfied at the same time. Former Umbrella employee or not, this was the man he was looking for all along, somebody that would most definitely have some sort of idea about his condition. The only thing was, Arc didnt want to bring it up tonight, he knew that they all needed to just sit down and relax for the night. It was obvious Shplain was living down here for quite some time, but he looked like he hadnt slept in days. Allison was most definitely tired, and Hal could use a nap for sure. Now might also be a good time to see where the other man, Louis, had ran off to, if thats what Hal said. Looking at Amelia, because she was the only person who didnt seem to have have much say since all of this, Arc spoke out with slight undertones that she would understand. "We stick with the plan, stay here the night, and go on with the plan tomorrow morning. What do you think?"
Before Amelia, or anybody else could answer him, the Doctor had spoke out from the dimly lit room, only he seemed to be recording something to himself while facing away from the group. "Entry 741021! Christina seemed to have handled ze last treatment well enough to safely agree zat she is an experiment whish positive results. A group of survivors have found my workspace, but im not abandoning research because of it, as zey seem reasonable enough to allow me to continue working. Ze power is still acting up from the weasser, but as dawn approaches, the night had not been wasted."

Allison, Katy, and Amelia watched as the scene played out. Once the creature was asleep, Allison broke the temporary silence.
"Well, that was awkward and creepy and hilarious all at the same time," she said with a chuckle, glancing over at Katy and Amelia, who looked unamused. Before she could announce that she was tired and was heading off to bed for real this time, she was interrupted by the doctor speaking into a recorder of some sort.
Allison walked off without word back toward the saferoom. Amelia gazed across the room at Arc, confused about what to make of the "doctor". She walked over to him and talked quietly, not wanting to interrupt the man's recording.
"I think Allison has the right idea, let's get some shuteye. We want to leave before sunrise, so we don't have long to rest."

With that being said, Arc knew that they needed sleep. Everybody seemed to, even Hal, who was still oggling the girl sleeping on the bed. Obviously he was interested in whats been going on here, but Arc than spoke out when the man had been finished the recording. The doctor was about to speak, but Arc did so before him quickly. "Alrighty, you all need some rest. Im not sleeping, done enough of that already, but ill make sure everybody is gathered in the lobby at 7am on the dot, alright? Dont worry, rest well, somebody needs to stay up and... Keep an eye on things." The slight pause would only be caught if you really thought about what Arc had on his mind. The doctor couldnt really be trusted, but he could stay up and chat with him for the next four or five hours, learn more about him and his work. Kill two birds with one stone.
"Oh, how vwunderfun, ill put on shome tea!" The doctor spoke out in a joyful tone, which was impossible to tell if he was being sarcastic or if he was for real. Most of which he said could be thought in either tone, but the tone he used was sketchy. Arc nodded to the others, and with a final voice from Hal, the group went off. "Well, alright. Just wake me if you need anything, okay Arcian? Please?" He said, obviously referring to his condition. Arc nodded, making sure he was aware of it. Once the group had moved away from the room, Shplain had stood at the doorway, watching them all move down the hall once they were out of sight, he turned back to the man, whos name apparently was Arcian, and spoke out in a friendly tone. "Arcian... Im going to close ze door, I feel much safer." As the door closed over, Arc spoke out. "Be my guest..." Knowing there wasnt a whole lot the man could do alone to hurt him, even if he did try anything stupid.

Allison walked into the Lobby, and jolted backwards when she caught glimpse of a lone infected casually walking across the floor. "What the hell..." she said aloud. It began walking toward her with it's arms out at a very slow pace. Allison let her AK dangle from its sling and reached toward her knife's thigh sheeth, pulling it out and holding it with a reversed grip, blade facing downward. She casually walked over to the infected as it stumbled slowly for her. She put one of her legs between the zombie's, hooking her boot against it's heal. She pushed the zombie forward with her left hand, tripping it over her foot and falling to it's back on the floor. Allison crouched down and went for the zombie's head with the knife, jamming it through the forehead, killing it silently. She ripped the blade out, whipping it out to the side. Tiny dropletts of blood splattered the floor. Allison looked around frantically. "The hell?" she said aloud, again.
Katy and Amelia walked into the lobby, Hal following shortly afterward. Katy called across to Allison, "What's wrong?"
"I feel a draft," Allison said. "So?", Amelia asked, her and Katy now standing infront of her. "How did this infected get in?" Allison asked, suspiciously. "The door is barricaded and there's only one other door to the outside."
Allison trailed off, walking toward the end of the staircase. She rounded the corner, and there, infront of her, was the metal back door swung wide open, outward. Katy and Amelia followed closely behind Allison. "Why is this door open? We never came through here," Allison stated. Her expression changed, notibably signifying that she had a realization. She walked back into central lobby and over to Hal.
"You were with Louis last, where is he?"
The room lit up momentarily and the thunder cracked, followed by the sound Amelia slamming shut the metal door in back.

As the other two women had moved to their own little areas of the clock tower, Hal stood in the lobby on his own. He was fairly tired, but wasnt really a fan of sleeping. If anything, he was going to sit in the corner and just read, or something. The flight to Arklay isnt very far, and he wasnt actually going in with them, that would be silly. Arcian would understand, though he didnt know if the others would. Allison wouldnt understand, but most likely mock him again for being a coward. Just as the thought crossed his mind, Allison had walked into the lobby, and started to approach him. At first, he was a little peeved, and intimidated, but when she spoke, Hal knew something else was up. "Louis? He just told me he had something else to do... Hes not back yet?"
With that, Hal assumed that at this point, he wasnt coming back...

Allison exhaled loudly. "Thanks," she told Hal, genuinely. "Okay," she began, addressing the group. "Louis never actually told me where the facility was, so it looks like we're a little f**ked."
Allison thought for a moment, then spoke to Hal again. "I don't think he would've left without telling someone where the facility was if he hadn't been intending to return. Did he happen to say anything to you before leaving?" she asked him.

While he had been trying to tell Allison before spoke to the group, Hal finally lifted his voice a little bit, perhaps even beyond any point hes raised it before. "I know where it is! Its in the Arklay Mountains, 3.4 miles from Ravens Gate Overpass, and .6 miles west from the dam. Judging by the rain and wind outside, it should be about another four and half hours before we can get that helicopter in the air safely. It takes roughly eight minutes to walk from here to the chopper. The flight will take us about twenty-three minutes to the dam, which we will find a nice landing spot that not too out in the open. The lab will be about an hour and fifteen minute hike up the mountain side, so well need all the sleep we can get if were going to be making the route..."
Stopping to adjust his glasses back onto his face a little more snug, Hal closed his eyes and thought about the path again, making sure he wasnt missing anything. "...The lab was situated underground, and its covered up by a small community, a population of maybe ten minute spread between four homes. Some of those people might sleep be barricaded up inside of their, and may or may not be aware of the lab under their feet. Who knows for sure, maybe they work for Umbrella or Tricell themselves, it really hard to say exactly what were up against. But I know that we need to get some sleep, an extra hour even, as the weather might shift over the next fourtyfive minutes or so. Just... Just some sleep, dont worry about tomorrow. Ill get everybody there, no problem."
Not that it really made much of a difference in the long run, but it was almost as if Hal was trying to impress Allison, letting her know that just because he wasnt a fighter that he wasnt completely useless. He was a good, if not the best, navigator in the United States, and equally good a pilot. His calculations were almost to the minute, based on how many people were in the group, and how fast their speed would be if they were appropriately aware of their surroundings. Looking at Allison, then to the other, and than back to Allison, Hal reassured them that everything was fine by putting on a confident grin for a second before sitting back down in the corner and burring his face in into his PDA.

Allison listened intently to Hal ramble. Though, it was intelligent rambling and Allison recognized that. She was somewhat pleasantly surprised to find that Hal was so able-minded, despite not being much of a fighter.
"That was..." she began, "Oddly specific."
She thought for a moment, then continued.
"Alright, then. I hadn't thought about transport time, and definitely hadn't considered the time it takes to hike up the mountain. We need to leave at least two hours early then so that we make it to the lab before sunrise. Once that sun goes up, we're much more likely to be spotted and picked off before we even reach the front doors, despite the abundant flora. That, unfortunately, means we have two less hours of sleep."
Amelia cut in, "Then I guess that means we'd better get right to bed."
Allison nodded approvingly at Hal and Amelia, then walked off toward the saferoom. Katy followed immediately after without a word. Before heading for the bedroom herself, Amelia walked up next to Hal to say a few things.
"Here," she told him, pulling a syringe from her bag, along with two small jars that fit perfectly in the palm of her hand. She took the cap off the syringe and tossed it on the floor, then punctured the needle through the lid of the first jar, filling the syringe halfway, then punching the needle through the second jar, filling the rest. "It's a blood-thinner sedative cocktail. I doubt you'll have to use it, but if Arc has another episode, this will help him relax. Just make sure he doesn't hit his head when he loses consciousness."
Amelia grabbed Hal's hand, opening it manually, then placed the syringe into the palm of his hand. She manually closed his fingers over it for him, then let go. She walked off toward the bedroom.
Allison pulled her AK sling off of her shoulder and set her gun on the ground, doing the same with her revolver. Instead of lying down this time, she sat against the wall and pulled a blanket over her, grabbing her AK and holding it against her chest, just in case. She tilted her head down, letting her hair hang over her face, and slowly drifted out of consciousness.
Katy pulled herself up onto the top bunk bed with help of the side railing and lay her head against the pillow. She was out like a light before she got a chance to cover herself with a blanket.
Amelia walked into the room and fell backward onto the bottom bunk, then pulled her legs up and over onto the bed. She pulled a hair tie from her pocket and lifted it into a ponytail, twisting the tie around it, then laying her head down onto one of the pillows and slowly drifting to sleep like her two companions.

Looking up from his PDA, Hal took hold of the injection. Would this really work? Help calm Arc down? Thinking about what Amelia told him, it seemed that she knew quite a bit about him. At that point, he wanted nothing more than to talk with her, ask how long her and him traveled together. Obvious she knows how to cope with his condition. Perhaps in the morning, things would be better, everybody getting enough sleep and ready to get things moving again. He didnt really know how things were going to go, or how things were going to end, but he knew one thing. Arc had a plan for everything, regardless of the consequences. He never put himself before other, always the other way around. Whatever tomorrow brought, it would only be good things by nightfall...

"There, ze tests are complete. Danke."
