Zig zagging various bullets hit the sides of the jet-ski as he continued to approach. Rasing his gun he unleashed a slew of covering fire. It gave him enough time to reach the boat just as the others stood up. Hitting a wave he jumped the boat knocking one of the foes off the boat as he jumped on. One went to punch him and he caught the fist under his arm and turned so the man on the back of the boat opened fire upon his own men giving Griffon time to return fire.
Turning to spot the upturned boat he saw the squid starting to detach from the sinking boat and head toward the flimsy air-craft. Looking around he soon spotted their salvation. With a few unlasped buckled he pulled out an RPG and pointed it at the sinking ship. Taking time to aim, he pulled the trigger sending a rocket straight into the gas tank blowing it sky high along with half of the BOW which soon slipped away. As quickly as he could he pulled the boat up to his stranded companions.
"No use waiting for the next boat. Let's get you out of these waters before that thing comes back."

Daniel had grabbed the crate Elijha had brought over and swung the raft over. He motioned for her to get inside, but the force of the wave knocked him away again. The raft kept him from going too far under water, and with a quick yank on the cord he was above again. He didn’t see where Elijha had been thrown, but he could hear the gunfire now. It was Griffon, taking over the enemy boat. At least he was managing. Now for the others. He could only see Riko now, telling them they should blow up the boat.
“We cant, Malcolm and Rio are still inside.” He yelled. He continued to survey the waters, not worried about the squid, when he heard the sound of the rocket launch. It struck the boat and erupted into a ball of flame. He looked to see where it had come from, and saw Griffon holding the launching tube on the enemy boat. f**k! Had the others even gotten out? He hadn’t seen anyone come out. He just hoped they got out in a way too sneaky for him to see. That was all he could hope for at this point.
He hauled himself up onto the boat and used the vantage point of the higher position to look around for everyone else.

Rio rolled in the water as the boat exploded. The waves from the explosion knocking her for a loop she didn't want. She was to dazed to even attempt to pull the string on the inflatable life vest she had on. Her mind was having trouble concentrating on things that was happening. She felt arms wrapping around her, and then the cool rush of wind hitting her face as she surfaced. She could hear words, but that was just about it.
"DANIEL!!" Elijha shouted as she surfaced. "Rio's hurt bad, and I didn't see Malcom," she hollared as she looked around finally seeing him swimming toward the boat that Griffon was on. She halled Rio behind her as she waded over to the boat. With Daniel and Griffon's help they were able to get Rio into the boat, and she quickly followed. She knelt down beside Rio taking off the vest. Running her hands along her body gently feeling the twitching in Rio's body. "I'm no doctor, but from the way she's breathing she has a couple of broken ribs," she explained.

The spear and thermite bomb down the gut threw the squid off, bleeding from the mouth and burning through it's internals, likely dead as it hit the water. Malcom got ready to follow Rio off before he heard a whoosh from topside and half the hull was torn away, the remainder of the boat bursting into an inferno.
"Dammit, nothing is ever easy."
Ditching the empty speargun he dove out the exposed side before the whole ship went up. With Rio using his breather though he'd have to get back up quickly. He headed towards the boat next to the raft, hopefully their pick up. Just as he broke the surface and took a breath Malcom was dragged back under, looking back he saw one of the Sincell troops Griffon had kicked overboard pulling at his leg, drawing a knife with the other hand. Malcom pulled loose just as he slashed trying to cut him across the stomach.
The troop swung several more times, his movements slowed down by the water and his technique suffering for it. On the next swing Mal grabbed his wrist, using a modified judo flip to throw him off balance, then dragging him into an outstreached arm to hit him in the throat. The opponent was winded and started sinking as Malcom took his knife and surfaced. Dragging himself onto the boat behind Griffon.
"I got one question. Which one of these goosesteppers tried to blow up the boat with me in it?"

“That’d be the one that drives our train.” Daniel said offhandedly, seeing if there was anything he could do for Rio. He wasn’t a medic, but he had first hand knowledge with a range of injuries. He himself had broken his ribs at least three times in his life. He was surprised he wasn’t confined to a hospital bed for the rest of his life. As it was he was on his way to an early grave.
He felt for the breaks as Elijha had and sighed. He hoped they had a medic on the boat. He didn’t actually know what to do for her.
“Griffon, is that boat still coming?” He asked, his voice a bit cross. He didn’t think anyone would blame him for being a bit short. Blowing up half the group was probably a good reason for an attitude.

Griffon shifted the boat and floored the motor. "Don't be so dramatic. I knew you were safe." Spotting the second boat behind them he knew instantly it wasn't hellp. It might be their boat but it was no longer their crew. He could feel it. With that feeling in mind he drifted course into a cloud of fog. "Besides, I figured you'ld trust me over a two ton man eating squid." He then saw the look on the mans face. "Or maybe I owe you a drink?" More starring. "Okay, Okay...I'm sorry." Turning on the spotlight he picked up a bouyee and tied it to one of his grenades. Pulling the pin he tossed it over the side. Moments later their was a horrible explosion as they pulled up to a rocky shore. Completely beaching the craft he cut the motor and grabbed his gear before jumping out. "We should change our position, that explosion will attract attention."

Elijha looked up at the group before looking down at Rio. "Riko . . ."
"Forget it. Your the one suppose to look after her," he cut her off as he walked by. Jumping off the boat with what equipment he could get.
Elijha glared at Riko, before picking Rio up as gently as she could. She felt Rio shift in her arms a bit before settling still in a more comfortable position. For any normal female they would have found a bit of a hassle picking up Rio, but to Elijha she seemed light as a feather. It could have had a lot to do with losing the lead coat along with the virus, but she didn't say anything. She followed the group off the boat, and into a relatively secure hiding place behind the rocks. "Should we get in trouch with Art?" she asked. "Oh sorry," she said as she rememberd why they had the second boat out there in the first place. "Maybe we need to find a radio tower with a long range frequince," she pointed out.

"Yeah, we'll have words on this later, right now you're still useful in the potential meat shield capacity."
Malcom searched through the gear on the new boat, his spear gun was down to one round and he'd lost his rifle. Thankfully Elijah had kept his sword for him and returned it in good order. Digging through a few panels in the deck he found an extra weapons cache and another medkit, every little helped. Daniel helped him carry them off as they took cover on the beach. While they cracked the boxes open Elijah gave a catch up talk about Rio.
"Try these." Mal pulled a rib belt out of the pack and a bottle of painkillers. "This will take the pressure off until we can get her real help. Where on the island are we exactly?"

“Were up on the north end somewhere.” He said. They’d started at the west and drifted over. Drifted quite a bit. Holy f**k… He could tell by the position of the sun.
He watched Malcolm pull out a device for Rio and busied himself with the guns they’d pulled off the enemy boat. Mostly old knockoffs, pieces of s*** all around. At least the AFDS had the foresight to rob, or whatever they had done to get their armory, from proper military forces. He was seeing a lot of AK and AR models that were supposed to double for AK-47’s and M4A1’s. Near as he could tell, he wasn’t rummaging through a box of models, so that put it under the ‘good enough’ category at the moment.
He finished with them and started to strip his own rifle down. He wasn’t worried about anything else. The vest had water proof pouches, and the pistols were pretty much water proof on their own. He’d just have to unload and reload them in a bit. The carbine he’d have to dismantle and dry though. Pain in the ass it may have been, but it could be worse. He stayed silent and observed as he did. Riko was starting to bug him. Not in the way that he was bugging Malcolm. It was pretty obvious Malcolm wanted to beat him like a red headed step child. Daniel was more worried about the attitude change. Before the Sincell base, Riko was normal. Defensive of his sister, a team player. All of that. Now… None of them could say they even knew him anymore. Had something clicked in him, or had someone done it for him? Daniel didn’t know, but he hated thinking the man he had thought of as a friend for so many years was finally showing his true colors.
“Don’t matter, we’ll need to go soon. Bet you a buck they know were here.” He said to no one in particular. He was pretty sure he’d win that same bet with all of them. An empty boat and an explosion near the docks wasn’t exactly a stealthy entrance.

Elijha looked down as Rio opened her eyes. "Well . . . welcome back to the land of the living," she said with a slight smile. Rio just stared up at her a bit dazed as if she was still trying to figure out what was going on. "Hang on. This is going to hurt, a lot," she said as she placed the belt around Rio's chest. She pulled tight on the strap hearing Rio cry out. When she got it tight enough she secured it in place. "Are you with me still, Rio?" she asked. Rio nodded slightly. "Good, can you tell me anything else that is wrong?"
"M- my legs still tingle," she said with a slight raspy voice. "St- still hurts to b- breath, but better."
"Your legs are fine, nothing broken from what I can tell. Probably hurt a nerve somewhere, and it will still hurt to breath. At least you can do it better. Can you sit?" Rio nodded slightly and Elijha helped her to a sitting position. "Alright, now to your feet," she said. Again she helped Rio to her feet, but feeling her stuble as she supported her weight more. "Alright. Maybe if we can get the good Doc here to computer we could find out more."
"N- not a Doctor." Rio laughed slgihtly.
"You've got a Doctor's degree in science, Rio," Riko huffed out as he peered around a rock. "We need to move soon."

Malcom retrieved his sword from Elijah, digging through the cache for a new sidearm and settling on a snub nosed .38 until he could find something more comfortable later, grabbing some extra rounds for his belt pouches. He left Griffon the spear gun and the rest of the cache to defend the beach.
"Probably save you time just picking up a new gun instead of reloading. and see about more spear ammo from the second boat when it shows."
Next he pulled out his PDA and bought up the map of Sheena island, overlaying a GPS picture with labels of the known landmarks from the Ark reports. The base they were looking for the first team was near the centre of the island uphill, with a cable car leading down to a residential area, hospital and prison. The town up ahead from where they were now was built for entertainment pretty much, an arcade, dance club, movie theatre among other things. Used to keep the kidnapped children complacent and distracted whilst the scientists took them one at a time for their own twisted purposes.
"God, kinda like pleasure island right?" Malcom drew the comparison. "Remember in that story pinnochio? they lure the kids onto the island with games and sweets, then they turn them into donkeys and sell them as working animals? Come to think of it, we already fought sea monsters so we've been kinda doing the story in reverse."
"anyway." He indicated on the map. "Library is pretty close, maybe we can find Rio a computer? Call Art up or try to contact the original team?"

“You know, that would indicate getting a happy ending, wouldn’t it?” Daniel asked. That damn sure wasn’t going to be the case. Best case scenario, no one died. At least no one died here. There was always the chance that Art would snap and going on a rampage. Hell, she didn’t even need to go over the deep end for that.
He snapped the upper receiver back onto the lower receiver of his M4 and slipped the magazine back into the well. He racked the handle and slung it over his shoulder, pulling up the other weapon he had taken from the armory. The M40A5. A long rang bolt action rifle with a sound suppressor attached, along with a x10 day scope and a bipod. He’d probably pass it to someone else when he didn’t need it anymore. Seemed like an idea when they got to the library, for when they had to scout the area. He wasn’t sure if they could take Rio with. But she was surprisingly tough, full of surprises.
“What’s the range to the library?” He asked, standing up and moving foreword with his eye peering down the scope and scanning the horizon for threats.

Rio looked down at the map, and measured the distance from their present location to the library. "A- about 15 minutes," she said with a slight struggle in her voice. She held her chest a bit as she struggled to stand back up. Elijha quickly helped her to her feet. "It will be night fall soon . . . so we best hurry," she pointed out.
"When we reach the library I suggest that Daniel, Malcom and myself head out. A small group is better to sneak around here than a large one. Not to mention we need people at the library to protect Rio, and help her if she needs it," Elijha said as she followed the group making their way down the beach.
"Rio can handle herself. If she wasn't so gun ho about jumping into danger than we wouldn't have any problems," Riko blurted out as he took point.
"An if an idiot brother of hers would actual be gun ho of protecting his little sister, than we wouldn't have this problem." Riko looked back giving Elijha a glare, but she only grinned at him. "Just shut up and keep moving."
